Food and drink quality is below average. The service is slow.

Food was good but service was very poor, waited half hour to get another drink, waited 1hr 10 minutes for our meal . Wasn’t shown a bill just told the amount. If we had a service charge I would not of paid it but I will never know.

I loved the food, the service was great, the dishes were just delicious, I'll recommend it.

Although quiet at times, The Tandoori Palace is a great little place to eat. The food is amazing and the service top rate, but understandably a bit slow when busy. The staff are all polite and well turned out and really do go above and beyond to make you enjoy your night out and want to come back.

As the name suggests, it's a proper Indian cum Bangladeshi cuisine. Pros: Taste is good, little less spicy curated for wide range of customers. Atmosphere is excellent. Cost is quite average for such good food, appreciated, they have good menu as well. Cons: 1. One waiter, looks like a potato(both face and body, is irritated by phone calls, has a grumpy face, puts on a fake smile, pays less attention, not very welcoming). The other staff were relatively better. 2. Since its a proper fine dine, the food takes quite long to come to your table, I don't know if it's because it's freshly cooked, or it's taken care as such because it's a fine dine. Don't go hungry, but go for spending a relaxing time. 3. Quantity can be a little bit more, samosa tasted excellent, but the quantity is very less for around 4pounds(at the time of writing this review).

Walk 5 minutes through the graveyard and go to Meghna instead.

Great atmosphere and fair service , and fantastic tasty food

We have been to the tandoori Palace lots of times and it never fails to deliver. The service is polite quick and helpful, the food is the best in the area in my opinion, we went early evening which is great if you want atmosphere but not to noisy so you can actually have a conversation. Above all fantastic value for very little money.

Excellent meal, service and value.

I used to frequent this restaurant for takeaways going back a few years now when I lived on that side of town, it was a really nice place to visit as the staff were always incredibly friendly and welcoming, which is not what I experienced on this occasion. When I called to order in advance the person who answered the phone was very to the point so to speak, he took my order and I don’t know if it was due to me only ordering for myself but, he seemed very disinterested and then actually hung up on me as I was saying thank you, not him, he never said thank you! When I arrived it must have been the same person on his own behind the counter, very unwelcoming and when I made conversation about not having been in for some time I was completely ignored. Now….. the food, I got a chicken tikka korma, rice and a Nan, portion size was very good and chicken was very nice tbh, sauce was split and a bit oily which was disappointing. I have to leave this review on a bit of a negative note, I will never go back to this place again, I would definitely have given the food another go but the unfriendly and borderline rude member of staff has brought me to that conclusion.

In fact I live ten yards away from the restaurant and am rating my own home. Google has made a false inference.

The service was as bland as the food. No explosion of flavours like Indian food should be. 2 stara because the meat in our dishes was actually well cooked and tasted good; the sauces were flavourless or simply sweet.

Food was good price, good location. Lovely food. Staff could be more friendly, smile, and therefore ambience could be better.

I have eaten many Indian restaurants in my time and would have to put the food quality and taste as my favourite. Good draft beer as well!

Ordered a takeaway to be delivered to a nearby Hotel that we stayed at overnight. The service was impeccable, food arrived within the stated time, and the food was of superb quality..........and all at a very reasonable price. Highly recommended. Thank you.

My friend had a table booked and had to pay a deposit, two people cancelled two hours before, not his fault, they kept the deposit and blamed him, absolutely appalling. The rice was dry and the garlic naan was weirdly sweet when I've never had a sweet garlic naan before, but the meat and sauce I had was lovely, price was okay I guess and poppadoms were nice, staff were pretty grumpy and rude except for one guy who was a laugh

It was a Tuesday night and we eat early so it was quiet and a little soulless. However service was good, isn't it always in an Indian? The menu has all the formulaic options which my friends took and felt underwhelmed. I went for the Shahi Chicken Jeera Masala which was excellent. There's a couple of boring UK brewed Indian beers on tap but nothing with any real bite and no options for wine by the glass.

Bestest ever, we're now regulars. Working my way through the menu, beautifully spiced and superbly presented, loving the new chairs.

This has been our best Indian takeaway during lockdown. Many other restaurants have reduced the quality and quantity of their food but Tandoori Palace is still producing fresh tasty meals. Prompt and friendly service and great advice on what to order. We can’t wait to visit again when we can sit inside.

I have been going to this restaurant for 20 years, I have eaten in many south Asian restaurants and this restaurant is my favourite, for me personally this is the tastiest food in the UK I have eaten all of the dishes on the menu and all are 10/10 I highly recommend you will not regret it

For me this has to be the best Indian restaurant, been going here over 7 years super quality food, can get busy at weekends.

Luckily we had booked as the restaurant was full; ;the food was delicious, plentiful and great value. In particular the house white wine was good, which is unusual. The staff were busy but attentive and they didn't object when we lingered after our meal. recommend.,

Visitamos en un grupo de aproximadamente 14 personas, todas con edades comprendidas entre 50/65, para una noche especial una vez que se terminó la comida principal, pero todavía estábamos bebiendo, nos pidieron nuestra mesa. Tenían grupos de estudiantes muy grandes esperando para sentarse. Esto fue antes de que nos preguntaran si queríamos un café o un postre. No habíamos recibido la cuenta solo pedimos prisa. Mencioné que fue un poco grosero cuando pagué pero no obtuve respuesta. No regresamos por un tiempo, pero hemos estado desde entonces y el servicio fue excelente. La comida es abundante y bien presentada. Hacen que los nietos sean muy bienvenidos y se aseguran de que puedan hacer clic en los fragmentos que les gustan del menú. Les encanta ser llevados al palacio tandoori.

We went here for lunch and found the restaurant almost entirely to ourselves. The restaurant is a bit out of the way for tourists, so it doesn't get a great deal of foot traffic, but there's a dedicated car park, and we had no trouble locking up our bikes. The service wasn't spectacular, but we were very happy with the variety of dishes we ordered. The Motor Ponir was bland and disappointing, but the Vegetable Bhaji was delicious, and the Vegetable Passanda (in yogurt and coconut milk) was fabulous--a tiny bit sweet and a highly recommended accompaniment to anything spicy.

Estábamos en Cambridge para la noche y realmente me apetecía una comida india como es nuestro favorito.

Disfruté de una super especial en el Palacio Palacio tandori con seis amigos sonando timbre pero no pudo digerir esta comida maravillosa como mi capacidad para comer ha disminuido con mi edad, pero mis amigos todos disfrutamos y totalmente consumidos sus comidas. La comida era excelente, con previa solicitud de amigo "caliente un poco "ser aceptado y entregado a su satisfacción. El servicio era amable y eficiente. Las bebidas eran tan solicitados y había un montón de espacio para nosotros y nuestros vehículos.

He venido muchas veces pero hoy ella era absolutamente terrible. El servicio era lento, torpe, bebidas llegó con el tercer supuesto. Tuvimos que esperar para obtener el menú. Y además de todo eso, se equivocaron con la factura cobrando mucho más. Tuvimos que corregirla. Mientras escribo esta crítica todavía estoy esperando el camarero a recoger el dinero. La comida era impresionante, pero tienes que tener mucha paciencia.

Que Hemos Tenido para llevar desde aquí varias veces, pero esta era la primera vez que comimos en la buena comida, así que a precios muy razonables no fue una sorpresa.

Pasé una noche de sábado con amigos, una celebración de 50. Había 22 en nuestro grupo y el restaurante y el personal hizo un trabajo estupendo en capacidad para todos nosotros. El servicio era amable, simpático bastante rápido. En cuanto a la comida, mi shahi pollo estaba delicioso y no escuché quejas de mis otros comensales y platos eran claras, así que supongo que estaban contentos!

Couldn't be bothered to cook, so went to this restaurant. Ordered a prawn puree which was good, and a prawn garlic which was inedible. The website prices disagree with the printed menu by a huge margin. I think this may be illegal.

Visitamos este palacio, con 2, 3, y 4 personas y pudimos sentarnos y hablar tranquilamente y disfrutar de nuestra comida cada vez (como debe ser en cada restaurante. ). Comience con el chutney de mango, la popadoms sirven es tan buena, los otros me gustó el limón de las especias. Para el plato principal me encantan los champiñones biryani. This is my favourite curry house in Cambridge. The food is excellent and I regularly go there once a month. However, the restaurant is let down by its decor, a revamp is really overdue, the plates and crockery have seen better days too.

We have been using the tandoori palace for sometime now and we usually go once a month for a curry, the place is well decorated clean and friendly, the food is always well presented and cooked which is always nice I normally have a King prawn Kashmiri with mushroom rice. And find it really tasteful the price is always reasonable so well worth a visit if you are in Cambridge.

I have been using this Indian Restaurant for a couple of years now and have always been delighted with the consistently high standard of presentation and quality of the dishes. The staff are very welcoming and knowledgeable about the dishes. The Biryani dishes are great as are the house specialties I have tried. The restaurant can accommodate large parties or small private tables. PLEASE do not all go at once as I might not get in. ENJOY.

Got a takeaway from this place recently. Ordered two veggie curries and a few side dishes. Service was good and fast but the food was a bit overcooked and bland. It wasn't terrible, but it wasn't great either.

Called in last night for an early meal. Completely ignored by chap on reception who was pouring a drink so found our own seats at a table for four. Another staff member cleared away unwanted cutlery, there were only two of us, and disappeared to play with his phone. We waited for menus, requests for drinks etc but nothing forthcoming. Dreadful. We left and went to Pipasha where had a superb meal and a very warm and welcoming reception. Pipasha was very busy.

The starter where lovely lots of flavour and decent portions, however the main courses where bland, disappointing, both appeared to taste the same! (Korma, medium curry)! Both where cold! The staff member smelt of BO, a shower and deodorant would do wonders, with a uniform that fitted an added bonus! The restaurant was cold, poorly decorated, and in need of an update!

Just returned from another successful trip to the Tandoori Palace. 3 adults and 5 children were catered for efficiently and nothing was too much trouble. The food was as good and as well cooked as any I've had outside of India and Brick Lane. Takeaways from here have also been excellent from here also.

I loved the experience of eating in the restaurant and could not fault the food or the service as all was excellent. It was so good that when I collected a family member we agreed to order a takeaway and although the collection was very prompt when we got to eat the takeaway I was very disappointed as the dine in experience was so much better than the takeaway

For months now I have been searching for a first class Indian takeaway as my usual place lost their chef. Well now after three visits in recent weeks to this establishment I can recommend the Tandoori Palace. Why. Well the food it tastes delicious and is superbly presented with little garnishes just like in India. The rice has always appeared freshly cooked not reheated from the previous day and the extras are well prepared Nan Popadoms and Chapattis are great. All in all gastronomic pleasure. The price is good too with main dishes at around £7 each. All in all a fair representation of English style Indian food at a fair price. Enjoy

We have been using the Tandoori Palace for a good 10 years now both as a Resteraunt and a Take Away, the staff are friendly, polite and helpful, the food? Soon tasty, full of flavour and served hot, speak nicely to the Waiter and they will tweak the meal to your liking. We have moved out of Town recently and cannot find a Curry House locally as good so we are happy to make the 40 minute drive for a good meal.

We went here for dinner it was quite busy which I always say is a good sign but we found the food average and the service could have been better but overall it was a good night

We've been coming here since the late 90s and always enjoy the experience: good food where you can taste the difference between dishes, very reasonable prices, friendly service, nice decor. It's a big place inside and is often nicely busy without being packed so it has some atmosphere but is split into sections so you also get a sense of privacy between tables. We've also had some good family meals there with kids.

The Tandoori Palace is located outside of the city centre, but it is well worth the extra travel to find it. Upon arrival we soon discovered that this is a very popular Curry restaurant, both in terms of diners but also customers coming in to collect take away. It was obvious that most of the customers were regulars - this is always a promising point as it means that the restaurant offers great service and meals. The menu is similar to what you would find at most Indian Restaurant as were the prices. However, the standard and quality of the food was amazing. My partner opted to try the hottest dish and he was not disappointed; although he did claim he wanted it hotter - whilst ordering an extra beer!!!You will not be disappointed when you visit.

My husband and I regularly go to tandoori palace either on our own or with family and friends. The curries are always excellent whatever you choose. My husband particularly likes a very hot one and frequently chooses the king prawn phall. Price of wines is very reasonable. Services always first class. A place we would recommend again and again.

Went there last Friday. Very busy place .. Had a great atmosphere.. We all had various starters . Excellent.. Then all ordered a different curries with side dishes. We had to wait a long time in between courses.. .realised there wasn't many waiting staff. The food was was very good ..we have been here before and always had a great curry. & service.

I've been to the TP several times over the last few years and they always give excellent food, which is very good value. Good service too! Hope to be back soon.

We had a really good meal at the Tandoori Palace. The food was tasty with just the right amount of spice for my taste, and it was served piping hot. The restaurant interior is fairly typical Indian restaurant, but it is clean and comfortable. Service was fine, although I do get annoyed when the waiter clears your plates and then completely disappears when you want to get the bill. When we did get the bill, we were pleasantly surprised at the total - very good value indeed.

We decided on a curry for dinner last night (Saturday 27th June 2015 ) Live local and decided that Tandoori palace fitted the bill .We did not book in advance as couldn't decide where we wanted to go. On arrival we were greeted with a smile and hello and shown to a table . After a couple of minutes waiter took our order of poppadums and drinks. The Poppadums were delicious with the different chutneys . The mains followed about 10 minutes after we had finished munching away which was perfect timing . I ordered the Chicken Kurma with mushroom pilau rice and a plain naan, My wife ordered the Chicken lebabda with mushroom pilau rice and a keema naan . Both meals were delicious , Rice was fluffy , Chicken in both dishes cooked to perfection and the naan breads beautifully doughy , Would have ordered another one if I had more room ! Prices are very good , Bill came to £27.05 which is hard to believe nowadays . Overall very impressed and will definitely be visiting again.

Arriving just after 1900hrs on a Friday the restaurant was quiet, and I was shown to a table by a friendly waiter. I ordered a drink, and then the usual popadom starter, main course and sweet. The main course was the Palace Special, and was very tasty and well presented. The sweet was an unusual coconut ice cream, served in half a real coconut, which was subtly flavoured and delicious. All courses were well presented and very tasty.Service was prompt, and by the time I left after an hour, the venue was busy with many customers, all of whom were obviously enjoying their meals. I look forward to returning to the Tandoori Palace on my next annual visit to Cambridge. If you are looking for accommodation in north Cambridge, within easy walking distance of the restaurant, I can recommend Rosa's B&B (see separate review).

I have never had Indian food before and based on this restaurant, I will eat it more often now. The flavors really stood out in everything we ordered. There were several different things ordered off the menu, and they were all delicious. It's a quaint place, service was great, and nothing could have been better.

The quality of the food is not excellent. The appetizers were not fresh, lamb was a bit hard and the chicken curry tasteless. I won't suggest it for a small quite dinner, although the place is quite big in relation to the customers.

Cold night in Cambridge, decided to check out Tandoori Palace. Good old fashioned hospitality, greeted warmly by the host Ujjal Rahman, with some nice pleasantries and shown to our table. My Tandoori Mix grill was succulent and accompanied by a nice bit of salad. Chicken Tikka Masala is spot on. Ujjal was a great host, he looked after us with great services and superb food. The decor is nice and traditional, large venue and highly recommended.

When I want a break from cooking our I am craving Indian, I come to Tandoori. Good prices for great food. I've only ever done take-away and never eaten in. The service is very prompt. I always get my food in less than 15 minutes.

If you want a relatively inexpensive but good quality place to eat then look no further than the Tandoori. A favourite by many in the local area, I absolutely love the Tandoori Palace, and is better priced than others such as the Maharaja.As many others have observed in other reviews, the portion sizes are great, and the food is top notch as well. Having been a regular there for the past 5-6 years the staff have got to know me and treat me and my friend like regulars should be treated!We went to the Maharaja which is just up the road to try somewhere different, but we were not impressed when we compared it to what we got at the Tandoori. Particular favourites of mine are the Chicken Rogan Josh, Madras, Tikka Massala or Dupiaza (yes, I like curry).If you're looking for a nice evening meal out, a take away, or something to grab on the way into town, you can't go wrong with the Tandoori Palace.

We occasionally eat in but mostly we love getting our takeaways from Tandoori Palace. Most importantly, our food is always well-flavoured and the portion sizes are generous. Also, the service is good and the menu very reasonably priced. A decent vegetarian curry can be a challenge to find but we have done so here. My meat-eating friends have also praised the dishes they have had from here. Most other curry restaurants we've tried around Cambridge have turned out to be a disappointment in comparison.

Staying at the nearby Tripadvisor recommended Rosa´s BandB in Roseford Road, I walked towards the city centre looking for a place to have an evening meal, and encountered the Tandoori Palace. Service was prompt and efficient, and the meal was good value, well presented and tasty. The restaurant was busy on this Friday evening, and it is well worth a try if you are in this northern suburb of the city.

While the outside of the restaurant calls for a serious upgrade, inside it got refurbished - and the service is great, food excellent. Definitely going again!

I went for a meal with friends, I thought the food was good, and my friend regularly gets takeaway from here, however another friend in the group thought the dishes a bit bland. Prices were very reasonable, service was friendly if a little slow.

I ordered the chicken vindaloo and I found it to be a bit too tame! The portion sizes are good and I didn't feel too stuffed afterwards. There is plenty of parking on histon road and the parking restrictions end at 5pm
