Tandoori Palace in Cambridge

Went for a birthday curry on the 10th of November and had a very enjoyable meal and left happy and full and the food was tasty and good value. 👍

I eat biryani and it was fantastic like the most delicious biryani ever and the restaurant was so clean and staff was very police and friendly am giving 5 start for each step

We ordered a whole chicken and got 4 legs, which wasn't enough for 4 adults, whereas a real whole chicken would have been. We had to order a pizza afterwards. Poor value for money and deceptive advertising. Well cooked but we won't be ordering again.

The best Indian in Cambridgeshire, so flavourful

We have been here many times over years and I've never had a complaint about the food but the waiters need to make more of an effort and engage with their customers. Not one of them made an effort. It seemed like it was all too much effort and we were an inconvenience to them, especially the larger waiter who would win the miserable waiter award.

it was a little spicy for my kids but the dhansak was so sweet reccomend eating it

Delicious paratha and mango lassi, great chicken tandori and special dishes

The food is fantastic and prices are very fair. The decor is a bit dated and the place lacks a bit of atmosphere. But for excellent food at a good price it's hard to beat in Cambridge

Very bland food and the restaurant was dead. The staff were friendly enough but the food doesn't justify the cost or lack of atmosphere.

Good food, too spicy for me, but still good. However there was a group of people who were drunk and shouting on the table next to me.

Food and drink quality is below average. The service is slow.

Food was good but service was very poor, waited half hour to get another drink, waited 1hr 10 minutes for our meal . Wasn’t shown a bill just told the amount. If we had a service charge I would not of paid it but I will never know.

Although quiet at times, The Tandoori Palace is a great little place to eat. The food is amazing and the service top rate, but understandably a bit slow when busy. The staff are all polite and well turned out and really do go above and beyond to make you enjoy your night out and want to come back.

Food arrived around 40 minutes later than expected, food was very cold, rice was cold and couldn’t eat it, certainly was t going to warm up rice again either, poppadoms weren’t crisp they were chewy and the samosas were cold and soggy too!! Very very upset and disappointed

Prawn patia was great. The other dishes were good. The amount of heat was just right…. Nice and chilli warm,… but the depth of flavours could have been increased to make the meal perfect.

Service was worst and food was also okay . Waiter was very arrogant and rude.

As the name suggests, it's a proper Indian cum Bangladeshi cuisine. Pros: Taste is good, little less spicy curated for wide range of customers. Atmosphere is excellent. Cost is quite average for such good food, appreciated, they have good menu as well. Cons: 1. One waiter, looks like a potato(both face and body, is irritated by phone calls, has a grumpy face, puts on a fake smile, pays less attention, not very welcoming). The other staff were relatively better. 2. Since its a proper fine dine, the food takes quite long to come to your table, I don't know if it's because it's freshly cooked, or it's taken care as such because it's a fine dine. Don't go hungry, but go for spending a relaxing time. 3. Quantity can be a little bit more, samosa tasted excellent, but the quantity is very less for around 4pounds(at the time of writing this review).

The driver was late and very rude the food was cold my little one was looking forward to some and was upset that she didn't get the right bread

If I could give 0 stars I would! The service I received on Saturday 5th of August was DISGUSTING! I placed an order online at 5pm, received an order acceptance text and email, I then got an estimated delivery time of 6.30pm. At 7pm I received a very rude phone call the person just said and I quote "no delivery drivers, we can't deliver. You have to pick up or cancel". No apologies or offers to make up for the lack of service. Surely when we made the order they knew there was no delivery drivers, so why couldn't they call us before to tell us they were unable to fulfill the order. They happily took our payment and no talk of refunds. We decided to cancel the order and go else where and the person just hung up on us. TERRIBLE customer service. I understand there is a language barrier but no excuse. I also understand shortage in staff but no excuse to call us 2 HOURS after our order! I then call up on Monday to look for a refund and was told "boss not here call back" and then they hung up on me again. No apologies or explanations. I have worked in customer service for over a decade, so I know how it works and this is possibly some of the worst service I have ever received. Still no refund. I will definitely be going elsewhere for my Indian next time. Very disappointed. Especially as my parents are such good customers and we get treated like this.

Ordered a takeaway from Tandoori palace, to be fair delivery was very prompt, although this should have been a warning sign. . . Onion Bhajis - Nice but nothing to write home about, the dip that went with them was very pleasant. Garlic Naan - Well I didn’t even get a garlic naan which was what I ordered, I got a Peshwari Naan. Again nice but nothing to write home about-very small compared to what I would normally expect (Size of a small side plate) Chicken Dopiaza - Very disappointing. There are previous comments on here saying that the sauces are bland, meats are not marinated, and are akin to shop bought jar sauces (Pataks etc.) This was 100% absolutely the case for me and I feel cheated, having paid 7.95 for the dish. I would not normally post a negative review as I am aware these can be incredibly hurtful to a business’s reputation. However in a purely transactional sense, it is unfair for Tandoori Palace to

Probably the worst takeaway curry I have ever had. Very bland , no flavour at all just slight heat on taste. Chicken was tough and not great tasting, sauce gravy very insipid and wrong colour. Tasted more like hot cabbage soup.

We have not ordered curries for a while as we’ve been unable to find a good place, but this is the second time we have ordered from Tandoori Palace in the last couple of weeks as the food is very good.

I ordered 2 madras there was no spice whatsoever, the curry’s were not even red I will never use them again, I ordered 2 normal cokes only got one Diet Coke

One of the meals was completely inedible. Tasted like burnt spices and gone off chicken. The other meals were ok. Not the best quality at all though. Been going to this restaurant for over 10 years. It has gone way down hill. Will not be ordering again.

We have been to the tandoori Palace lots of times and it never fails to deliver. The service is polite quick and helpful, the food is the best in the area in my opinion, we went early evening which is great if you want atmosphere but not to noisy so you can actually have a conversation. Above all fantastic value for very little money.

Food was very good, large portions and tasty. With exception of the Keema Naan which was slightly undercooked and hence slightly doughy.

Never again ordered a meal at 5.45 on Saturday. I was told it would be about 45 to 1 hour fine most curry shops are the same .after 1 and a half hours I called them and was told it's on way ?2 hours later still not come phoned them again to my surprise told me cooking it now !!! Disgusting? Eventually arrived 2 and a have hours late and COLD !!!!! phoned again for refund told me give you disc next time what a joke ..the worst curry house in cambridge. Ps I AM ONLY 20 MINUTES FROM THE SHOP!!!!!! RATE THEM O O O O

I used to frequent this restaurant for takeaways going back a few years now when I lived on that side of town, it was a really nice place to visit as the staff were always incredibly friendly and welcoming, which is not what I experienced on this occasion. When I called to order in advance the person who answered the phone was very to the point so to speak, he took my order and I don’t know if it was due to me only ordering for myself but, he seemed very disinterested and then actually hung up on me as I was saying thank you, not him, he never said thank you! When I arrived it must have been the same person on his own behind the counter, very unwelcoming and when I made conversation about not having been in for some time I was completely ignored. Now….. the food, I got a chicken tikka korma, rice and a Nan, portion size was very good and chicken was very nice tbh, sauce was split and a bit oily which was disappointing. I have to leave this review on a bit of a negative note, I will never go back to this place again, I would definitely have given the food another go but the unfriendly and borderline rude member of staff has brought me to that conclusion.

In fact I live ten yards away from the restaurant and am rating my own home. Google has made a false inference.

Didn’t get my correct order, missed 2 curries asked me to go collect as couldn’t deliver it I was unable to collect thry delivered & came after 10 minutes said it would take an hour. Food was also cold.

The service was as bland as the food. No explosion of flavours like Indian food should be. 2 stara because the meat in our dishes was actually well cooked and tasted good; the sauces were flavourless or simply sweet.

The chicken vindaloo is superb Full of flavour The sag aloo is perfect too Highly recommended

Headed for a dinner, server was not at all properly groomed neither in his uniform nor in his words. His approach was in a very unexpectable was like jhe is doing a big favour!!!! Read the menu was trying to understand what this new dish labada heard for Lababdar..... food was also not as required as every thing ie there was only on gravy... that too raw.

From the outset was made to feel uncomfortable, guy who showed us to table seriously needs to have some customer service training!! IGNORANT is an understatement!! Restaurant not very clean, and on a trip to the toilet kitchen door was opened, how I did not walk out straight away I do not know it looked FILTHY!! Had poppadoms and dips to start then waited nearly an hour for main course to arrive, I seriously cook better curries at home using a jar sauce, AVOID this place at all costs!!

Ordered a takeaway to be delivered to a nearby Hotel that we stayed at overnight. The service was impeccable, food arrived within the stated time, and the food was of superb quality..........and all at a very reasonable price. Highly recommended. Thank you.

My friend had a table booked and had to pay a deposit, two people cancelled two hours before, not his fault, they kept the deposit and blamed him, absolutely appalling. The rice was dry and the garlic naan was weirdly sweet when I've never had a sweet garlic naan before, but the meat and sauce I had was lovely, price was okay I guess and poppadoms were nice, staff were pretty grumpy and rude except for one guy who was a laugh

It was a Tuesday night and we eat early so it was quiet and a little soulless. However service was good, isn't it always in an Indian? The menu has all the formulaic options which my friends took and felt underwhelmed. I went for the Shahi Chicken Jeera Masala which was excellent. There's a couple of boring UK brewed Indian beers on tap but nothing with any real bite and no options for wine by the glass.

Bestest ever, we're now regulars. Working my way through the menu, beautifully spiced and superbly presented, loving the new chairs.

Food was OK, service was not with a smile. Waiter did not seem pleased to see customers... Quite odd

Absolutely nothing wrong with this restaurant!! But the just eat drivers are awful! Delivered our food and we only received poppadoms and naan bread, nothing else! Driver even had the cheek to say that was all there was to deliver and nothing else. Contacted the restaurant and we were told the driver had left our food there on the table and we had to go and collect it. Restaurant staff were lovely, can’t fault them 👌🏼 food is always lovely from there, but we won’t be ordering through the just eat app again. Will phone directly through the restaurant next time.

Don’t use quality meat my lamb rogan was horrible I wouldn’t recommend. Used to eat at this restaurant all the time as it was good but it’s not anymore poor very poor Onion barges were disgusting as well all you could taste is flour. 👎

This has been our best Indian takeaway during lockdown. Many other restaurants have reduced the quality and quantity of their food but Tandoori Palace is still producing fresh tasty meals. Prompt and friendly service and great advice on what to order. We can’t wait to visit again when we can sit inside.

Best Indian takeaway by far. Nothing to moan about for ten years. Very good prices too. Can sometimes be slow for a sit down as it very busy at times.

I have been going to this restaurant for 20 years, I have eaten in many south Asian restaurants and this restaurant is my favourite, for me personally this is the tastiest food in the UK I have eaten all of the dishes on the menu and all are 10/10 I highly recommend you will not regret it
