Brought oxtail dinner and a festival. Bit into the festival and pulled out a long piece of hair!!! Absolutely disgusting. The hair was imbeded in the dough! Food hygiene is clearly not up to par. Will not be going here again!

First time Ive received such a small portion for £3.50. Asked staff member and she said it’s a big piece.

Come here every Friday for work their food always looks great and the cakes are delicious, friendly staff and premises are always clean

Was recommended to try the corn mill porridge the lady which served me dose not have manners of speaking. And the porridge was like drinking an English cup of tea, watered down fully, absolutely 💯 revolting 🤮 £6.00 pounds which absolutely ripped off. You can’t run a business with that attitude, that’s why you want get far in life with that attitude and approach to customers.

I paid £5 for a portion of rice & peas + 80p for a fried dumpling & this the scraps they sold me! For a £5a , I at least expected a full box of rice ffs! Under new management?! Just as bad as the last!! Never again! & yes, they did put the dumpling in the same box as the rice even though i paid for them separate! And adding insult to injury. Yesterday’s rice was nasty!!!!!

While staff are friendly, they can not manage the rush at times, large red peas soup £7, I counted one strand of meat and the most amount of dumplings, not worth the money In the slightest

I asked if the food was halal and was shown a print-out of the word halal in Arabic, I asked to see a halal certificate from the company supplying the meat, I was told they Didn’t have one but they get their meat from the halal butchers. I was puzzled but believed them. I asked if their patties were halal and was told yes, ordered a one, the server gets one out of the fridge, removes the packing & bins it & then puts the patty in the microwave to heat it up, I asked to see the packaging and saw it wasn’t halal! I informed her, cancelled the order & left! Beware of places claiming to be halal, ask to see a certificate as proof, they should make it readily available for customers! Be warned!

Sat 20 Jan 2024 purchased at 3.50pm at the Slade Road branch Erdington. I have just had the most wonderful meal. Ordered 2 large mutton soups. XLg meal and had the Oxtail and curried goat /mutton. It's one of the best Caribbean meals I have had in the longest time. I have put the date and time of my purchase, as the lady who served us had the most amazing customer service!!! Warm and welcoming, with a lovely gracious personality. You left us feeling that you really valued us as your customers. Thank You so much🙌🏾

Lovely food- one of the few places in town where you can buy real food and no junk food. The food is very tasty and staff are friendly. The prices are very reasonable for city centre and the portions are large

Went to talk of the town Dudley road yesterday. Bought a large meal for £11.50. Got a box full of rice, one tablespoon of veg, 2 legs and one other piece of chicken. 100% not worth buying. Ridiculous.

Classic cowboy customer service practices combined with highly extortionate prices. The lady serving customer ignored for at least 1 minute whilst speaking/gossiping irrelevant nonsense on her mobile. I was compelled to rudely interrupt her to ascertain whether they had what I required. She responded with showing three of her fingers in a gang style manner - implying that there were three different porridges. I was miffed when told that a large porridge costed £6! This takeaway is too too expensive. Immediately I shared this with the server and expressed that this would be my first and last time patronising this establishment as the prices were ridiculously too high, particularly, when everywhere else sells the identical size porridge for either £4 or £4.50. Avoid this shop - they are not customer friendly and not empathetic with their pricing

These people are crooks the lady charged me £5 for a piece of chicken when I got home realised what I got and called only to be told prices gone up after the other member of staff who answered said jerk chicken is £3,50 they even charge a bottle of pop £3 I don't recommend cause its daylight robbery

Poor! customer service staff have way too much attitude! Get orders mixed up! Seem unorganised Had better yard food else where within Birmingham. Will not be returning! Should have gone Full of Flava down the road instead! Streets are dirty! around shop!

Listen, YUMMY. Seriously very good jerk chicken and the oxtail.... exactly as I'd cook them. Tender and just delicious. Would be returning.

High level customer service and polite

The food is good but way too much salt , I nearly passed out from a reaction to the salt , I don't think they will change that , Mr B in parkfields wolverhampton was a relief .

Went here today! I don’t know who was serving tonight but for a big woman your absolutely rude for no reason! I asked for a Pattie and the way she dashed the £1 Pattie from Asda in my hand was disgusting. I’m more shocked that their over charging for patties that are from Asda, she didn’t even have the decency to take it out the packet to pretend lol most Carribean shops make an effort and make their own patties, so to charge people extra for a pre made Pattie and THEN also have an attitude is beyond me…please humble yourself, I didn’t even noticed until I got home as I didn’t check what she’s gave me as I expected it to be of standard! If I did I would of definitely returned it and told you to keep the £1.60 and just brought the same thing from Asda. Also it’s not cute black woman having an attitude for no reason in their own restaurant.. do you not like your job or something? This is 2022 you will go out of business love hence why black people are preferring to cook from home!!! I’ve been here before and the girls are so nice but this woman today totally changed my mind on the whole place! I had no reason to be treated with so much attitude.

I have to say that customer care/services a is a priority for me. Nicole was both polite and courteous during our purchase of food. Her well mannered conduct made this experience an enjoyable one. It was the end of evening and for her to maintain this level of customer care, makes her an asset and credit to this company. In addition the food was delicious 😋 and my Irish moss drink took me back to my Mother's day of making Irish moss. Thanks Talk of Town for a all round wonderful experience... Durrant Millen....

After waiting for the staff to finish chatting with each other about their appointment that day I ordered mutton and rice and peas… it was horrible too much gravy the rice was saturated and the mutton was cooked out so much it was like eating rice and peas and soup….. should have known better as had bad experience previously…. Staff can be a bit rude except the nice lady that bakes cakes she has great customer service. Not going there again!!

I brought this poor excuse for sky juice the company brand and it was a vile pathetic attempt at sky juice! Taste like they just brought a cheap 50p carton of tropical juice from the corner shop then added a litre of syrup to it and charged £2.50 for it, dash weh dat!!!!! The ting sickly sweet, full a sugar and cheap tasting, 2 sips alone will give you diabetes. Dem a disrespect people's taste buds. If I say put the gravy on my rice, I mean put the gravy on my rice not sprinkle it on my veg instead and hope that I don't notice! Other than that food nice and I like the fact you can pay by card. Only other complaints are service is slooow!!! (Typical Jamaican restaurant 🙄) and the woman that works on a Sunday is hopeless, incompetent, rude and deserves to be sacked.

Foods nice but the young mixed race girl on the counter thinks she’s gods gift. Arguing back with customers???? I suggest she takes a customer service course before standing behind a till. What she needs to understand is that shes doing the most basic of jobs lol, serving food for a living. If she can’t even manage that in a timely manner I suggest she go be a zoo keeper or something because that’s where her manners are best suited around… animals. I’ve seen animals with better manners than her. She young and that’s obviously her first job. She needs to take advice from others who are acc in an established career.& she needs to do better

Good food and good service, need to ensure they cater enough for the customers desires. Also actually having punches in their full capacity and ranges would be good!! Rice checks need to be done to ensure rice isn't tough. Also watch the salt some things are over salty

I came here once before today a few years back and the food was terrible so was the portions and the customer service. In a haste to get some fast food I decided to pop in and get porridge and a pattie for myself thinking you can't go wrong with those things. Boi was I wrong. The customer service was typical, miserable and dismissive. Which is always a bad sign as food should be cooked with love. The cornmeal porridge was burnt my daughter couldn't eat it so I gave her my banana porridge which was tasty but too sweet. And the pattie was tough and half inedible. I never leave bad reviews but as prices are going up we can't afford to waste money so please improve you shop. I don't know how your still open.

This takeaway is now runned by non black people- hence why th food quality is absolutely disgraceful. It is dried out and looks like it has been reheated mulitple times. I always deliberately overcharged. On my last visit, they did not change the price on the board and overcharged me. When i complainted the assistant did not seem to care. This is caribbean takeway at its worse

The sadness, disappointment and sheer disrespect I feel is unbelievable. I smelt the rotting rice instantly as I spooned it onto my plate. The rice and peas was starting to congeal. To think that they could be so careless in basically poisoning the public with literally trash, to think no one would know they served them old clearly Unrefrigerated rice that probably contained coconut milk! They need a visit from the environmental health officer!Maybe I will arrange that. Absolute disregard for the cultural food and the community they represent and the public they serve.CHECK YOUR FOOD BEFORE YOU PAY!! Or better yet, don’t eat from these people.

Always my go to place when I'm not cooking. They always have something I can pick and there's consistency. That's what I like. Also customer service is very good

I have never been so sick in my life. Had I not been in the company of others at the worst point, I may have choked on my vomit because after the umpteenth episode, I had no strength to keep myself upright to let it out. I bought curry goat and my God I paid for it. GP said I should report them to public health but I didn't. It took me weeks to get better. Will never eat from them again.

Talk of the Town is a great Caribbean restaurant with quality food and good customer service. I've been going to there for years and they've never disappointed me. Wide range of delicacies at reasonable prices and healthy portions. Always have and always will recommend.

Food is very authentic! Bought the escovitch fish and festival, it was absolutely delicious. I will definitely be visiting this shop again when in Birmingham

They have a good vegetarian/vegan meal when served with cooked food ( boil dumpling, green banana, yam, etc..) but this time I had some kind of spicy yellow rice which was awful and too tough to eat. I threw the rice away but ate the rest which was tasty. Not the friendliest of staff.

Staff are very welcoming and friendly. I enjoyed my meal and will come again.

Come in the shop the lady was lovely quick and efficient and plated a huge portion. Food was hot and fresh chicken fell off the bone. Deffo coming back here

The food isnt the best out there but it is nice and the portion size is good for what you pay I do notice you have to check when the rice and peas was cooked on 2 occasion the rice and peas has been off left son up all night on the toilet (never tell me it taste off until after he ate most both times) when hes brought it to me I could smell instantly it was off so just check before ordering rice and peas. Food can be overly greasy at times but as I said not the best out there but good value for money if you dont want to be queuing in top taste and need something quick shops next to always empty never packed.

Great food and excellent service! The front of the shop server Demi was great help to me in choosing what to eat as it was my first time ! Would deffo recommend the fried chicken was 10/10 !

Well i ate from this place twice, third time was last time. I ordered two meal and extras and the meat was just pink, the bone was still meaty. I had to drive another 20mins back to the shop only to be told by the staff that it’s how they eat it in Jamaica, then said he could only give me three pieces of fried chicken as all the jerk chicken was the same batch. As a Jamaican I felt insulted specially as a husband and father of two. I cook most nights but as we was out all day I thought to grab something from here. Never Again

1st time ordering from this restaurant and i just want to say i would of given it more stars if i could. Definitely 10 out of 10 Great food portions, the whole family enjoyed their food. Dumplings were really nice too. Ordered large fried chicken, large stew chicken and regular jerk chicken. Amazing food. The driver was great friendly service. Will definitely order from here again. Highly recommend this restaurant. Top quality Caribbean food.

Went here recently for the first time in a long while and remembered why I stopped spending my money here. The food is okay but the customer service is non existent. I find the staff very rude and unwelcoming and it's disgraceful that they can't even say simple please or thank yous. I know this is like a lot of Caribbean takeaways but come on people we need to do better. I don't want to spend my money somewhere where I don't feel respected or where I feel like I'm bothering you by asking to order food, won't be seeing me again!

Food here is unreal! My favourite dish is Curried Mutton which I'm always a bit sceptical about buying from most places as it tends to be too spicy for my taste, but this place does it just right. All the food here is so nice, and I always look forward to the next time I eat from here 🙂

El ackee, pescado salado con verduras al vapor y guisantes y arroz estaba delicioso. Podría haber comido otras 2 porciones.Este lugar es encantador para cualquiera que quiera comer o probar buena comida caribeña.Los precios son un poco caros en términos de lugares de comida rápida, pero la calidad suele ser buena siempre que estoy aquí. 3 juegos de mesas adentro si quieres comer adentro.Nevera llena de bebidas frías también.

If I could rate lower than 1star I would. The food was absolutely terrible!!!!! Salt to kill,no taste just pure salt. Also inside the chicken was pink!!! I will never ever go there again. I will warn anybody please please don't buy food from there,it's dangerous.They need to be told cos really they are embarrassing Carribbean food., which when done the right way is delicious cuisine.The branch in city center is much better but can at times be heavy handed with the salt.

Although the food was absolutely amazing, it was so salty, my husband and I couldn’t enjoy eating it! We went to Erdington branch. Staff was lovely & informative of everything but sadly the salt was too much. In this day & age there shouldn’t be that much salt in any food. Would have been much more enjoyable to eat with just a little. This isn’t a complaint by any means, just a critic so food could be improved for next time.

Con muchas opciones para el almuerzo, opté por el rabo de buey, con arroz picante y verduras al vapor. ¡La mejor decisión que tomé toda la semana! ¡Tan sabroso y mucho!Comida tradicional caribeña sencilla, a buen precio, grandes porciones a precios bajos.Solía llevarlo, un servicio rápido y una conversación amigable con él, pero la tienda tiene espacio para comer y tiene espacio afuera en un día agradable.Un gran hallazgo para cualquiera que trabaje en el centro de la ciudad y busque algo diferente para el almuerzo; Recomiendo probarlo.

The food is very nice, but the amount of money you pay for a large meal depends on who is serving in my experience. So depending on who is serving will determine if I am going in. I have been in and paid £10 for a large meal but I was give very little and other staff have give me more. (my money's worth) but the staff are nice so I will not give any name's. Just food for thought ;-)

Nice clean friendly place, downside the portions ain’t as big as the one in Birmingham City centre, but apart from that it was all good, the kids loved it. 👍🏿

Han pasado por el lugar unas cuantas veces. Firme diciendo "100% halal", lo que podría ser, pero no pudo obtener un recibo impreso. La comida no era tan buena y la señora que servía estaba hablando con otro cliente mientras me estaba sirviendo, así que no parecía particularmente molesta. No vale la pena el costo de la comida. No voy a volver.

Sinceramente, este lugar era increíble. La comida era tradicionalmente caribeña, el servicio era excelente (Janet) Estoy muy feliz de que mi hijo me haya contado sobre esta pequeña joya. El pollo Jerk fue sinceramente increíble! No podría recomendarlo lo suficiente. Sin duda volveremos la próxima vez visitando a nuestro hijo en Birmingham. . . ¿Lo entregarías a Irlanda? ? ?

He vivido lejos de Birmingham por más de 4 años, vuelvo a visitar al menos 3/4 veces al año y siempre en mi último día vengo aquí para que mi grub tome mi viaje en tren de regreso a Devon y cada vez que la comida está muy por ahí con la cocina de mi abuela, les he comentado este lugar a mis amigos en Devon, tanto que hice un viaje de 360 kilómetros en 24 horas para conseguir comida para mí y para mis amigos aquí (lo hice También ver a la familia) toda la comida ha pasado por una tormenta absoluta y les encantó todo. Muchas gracias a todos por brindar un excelente servicio, no solo por teléfono sino también por el mostrador, sino por un moosive. Gracias por cocinar tan buena comida. ¿Puede por favor abrir un lugar en el centro de la ciudad de Exeter?

Sopa ordenados y una cena. Buena comida pero un miembro del personal con pelo negras en Martes 23 de enero a la hora del almuerzo sirve como ella está haciendo un favor. Ella es bastante peligroso. Necesita comprender que ella es la de ofrecer un servicio. Esto llevó lejos de la comida en general encantador.
