Fantastic food and good service definitely worth a visit.

Went to Takdir for my bday, food was amazing, staff were really friendly, Nahid & Kamal were always waiting to help. Kamal made us a really nice mocktail and Nahid was always at our service when we needed help. 1 waiter on the floor and so many customers and Nahid handled it really well. Well done to everyone at takdir 👏👏👏

Great food in a timely manner, great service from Shoriff as always.

Went there last night and someone was waiting to open the door for us, great welcome. My husband was in a wheelchair so sometimes difficult to get in. The service was very good from start to finish, attentive but not overbearing. Food was delicious. We are on holiday otherwise would make this a regular night out.

Amazing food, service, surroundings and atmosphere. We've been coming for twenty years and they never disappoint. We even got a cake and rendition of happy birthday for my father in-law.

My husband and I regularly have a takeaway on a Saturday night from here. I order it and collect it on the way home from work. For some reason they always call me james instead of jane but i can forgive them as the food and service is fantastic. I don't know any other Indian restaurant that will cook the dishes that this restaurant prepares as well as this one. You want an authentic curry you must visit Takdir Whitley Bay.

Absolutely fantastic night at Takdir. Was my 40th and large table but that did not affect the service and quality of good. We were all made welcome and the food was absolutely beautiful! Very busy night, hats off to all of the staff, you're amazing!

Dined here last night - staff were polite and service was relatively quick. We went for the banquet option which was varied enough. Mains took a little while but other courses were timely. Food was nice and plentiful. Not much parking outside, we parked outside the Spanish city and had a stroll along.

A lovely meal as always. Waiters kept apologising as kept forgetting us. We did wait a long time between courses. Other people who arrived after us were being served.

Absolutely lush food, came here few weeks ago and the food was phenomenal ! very friendly staff too and the raspberry cocktail was unbelievable! Thank you

The best Indian restaurant in the North East of England!! 10/10

Went here on a dinner date a few weeks ago. Was a weekday on a rainy day so it was really quiet. The service was really fast and friendly, food delicious (we did the 3 course deal). The pickle tray was defiantly a stand out probably the nicest i've ever had. Great coffee with liquor at the end and the interior looks beautiful.

One of the best if not the best curries we have ever had. We love pathia and it was perfection, the lamb was so tender you didn't need a knife to cut it and the chicken tikka katmandu had a lovely heat to it. All the supporting dishes were perfect too from the poppadoms and pickles, the vegetable pakora, pilau rice and garlic and coriander nan, nothing could be faulted. The atmosphere and decor all added to make this a memorable meal. I just wish we lived closer.

Amazing food and staff. Called in on the off chance and were looked after brilliantly from start to finish by Stacey... thank you so much. Hanging kebabs were wonderful. Never had one before went with Stacey's recommendation for the jumbo prawn and wasn't disappointed. Hubby had the same but with lamb tikka which was lovely too. Will certainly be returning here. Thank you to all the staff xxx.

Had a 4 course meal. Appetiser and starter was amazing but main course curry was a little bit too sweet for my liking. Waiter took it to the kitchen immediately and it was a lot better after the change. Waiter and waitress were attentive and amazing throughout the meal. Clean and enticing restaurant interior.

A really good looking restaurant but above all the service, the polite staff and the standard of the food was exceptional. Thank you to the chef and staff.

We only dropped in to pick up a takeaway. But nice atmosphere we have a beer while we waited looking out at the sea 👍

I was pleasantly surprised by Takdir. The venue was nicely decorated, staff friendly and warm. A good benchmark is clean fresh toilet facilities! It was nice to see a mix of people and various staff attending to our table. The food was fantastic, its my children's first experience of Indian style food. Dad also loves hot hot food! A curry that is nice and fiery but you can still taste the flavours my main dish was superb! (See pic) I would highly recommend the venue to one and all. We will definitely come back, thank you for a lovely warm and relaxed dining experience.

What a disaster! Ordered a take away and waiting time anout 1 hour, Saturday night so nothing unusual, after 1 hour 20 minutes still no food. Called them and they promised it would be 5 minutes, over 20 minutes later food came. Chips and nans so cold inedible currys looked like they had been stuffed into the bag, pictures attached. We have used this restaurant many times but normally through Just Eat app and always had really good food, this time called them direct service a disgrace and food, well lets just say my bin is now full.

Brilliant night, always dined in Gulshan but thought we would try the original and we're not disappointed, food ,staff and service were excelent and to say the starters of onion bajis and tandoori mixed grill were better than gulshan is a massive statement and by no means detracting anything from gulshans exemplary menu and service the starters were that good we didn't get photos as we were to busy demolishing them 😃 Will definately be back again

Lovely restaurant, but the food could be improved a bit, as could the table service.

First time visiting this week! I have 0 faults. The lads were absolutely awesome! As front of house staff go they were top notch. 👌 The food was incredible, had to take a doggy bag home as our eyes were a bit too big haha 😄 Definitely will be returning! Thank you.

Really nice and well presented food. Good sized portions. Try the tandoori platter, we did and were very impressed. Also the staff curry is very good. Areas for improvement - was disappointed with the chana masala, it was sweet, not at all like I have had before, either in the UK or when in India

Very friendly staff and good service. The food was delicious, I had the chicken vindaloo which hit the spot. Lovely setting with the promenade outside.

Food was ok. Sadly another restaurant that charges the same for veggie meals as meat - but just gives you frozen vegetables (peas, sweetcorn etc). Seriously come on - broccoli and cauliflower are not gonna break the bank for crying out loud. Do better. Also my entire order was taken and served by a 10 year old, which was a little concerning.

Visited with a group of 20+ a few weeks ago. Waited nearly 2 hours for the first course, half an hour for the next, then the bill was incorrect! The restaurant was pretty full & clearly the kitchen could not cope. No apologies forthcoming so one to avoid in future!

Thoroughly enjoyed this place and tried something different. Beautiful setting, great service and great food. I ordered the Chicken tikka Kathmandu and my friend ordered the Maharaja garlic prawns they were delicious and huge. Also if your a fan of pickles amazing lime pickle.

Myself and my daughters enjoyed our meal and the staff were as amazing.

Stylish interior good first impression , kitchen did a great job also the young waiters. Oppressive behaviour from senior staff to junior staff very noticeable to customers, created an atmosphere. Basic service standards poor should have been friendly but an under current was present. Felt like priority was turning tables and clearing them existing customer experience low priority. Shame but would not re visit.

One member of staff blamed this on the introduction of new members of staff. THIS doesn't help the customer...... If I'm in the north east Ive always made a bee line to Whitley Bay so I dine here and see my positive review below: My 5-star review from a year ago and I dine here every time I'm in the area: Stranger in town and didn't know what to expect when I called in here but was I supprised 😀 great venue, staff and food. No problem returning here and therefore I recommend this restaurant. Thanks to everyone who served and cooked for me 👊👌😀

One of the best Indians I have been to. The food is fabulous and the staff are very welcoming. We have been to Whitley Bay on holiday 3 times and each time we look forward to dining here. If you are holidaying in Whitley Bay I recommend a visit.

Highly recommend this place for best Indian Food. Had loads of different dishes and honestly all of them were super delicious. Worth it. Perfect place, lovely staff, delicious food and nice atmosphere.

Found this place on a recent visit and decided to give it a try, and very glad we did. Lovely interior, fab music and stunning food. A fresh and modern menu to most Indian restaurants. Waiters very extremely friendly and chatty. Fab place and will definitely visit again if we are in the area

Nice food but don't use Uber for delivery

This restaurant was highly recommended. Ordered a take away. Food was bland and tasteless. Garlic nan bread was hard and could not taste any garlic. Would not use this takeaway again

Fantastic food and service and very reasonable prices...we are back in a weeks time with more family and friends

Decided on a take away. Delivery stated 45-60 mins. Food took 1 hour 50 mins to arrive and was missing a main meal. A game changer flat bread. After ringing the establishment they advised it would take 25 mins. After 40 minutes one of the restaurant workers dropped the flat bread off blaming the delivery driver. Mistakes can happen but that does not excuse the almost 2 hour wait already had for lukewarm food. Highly disappointing when one person has the dinner and the other has to wait for it to arrive. This unfortunately is not the first time. If you decide to dine in the restaurant the service is also slow however the quality of food makes up for it. I will struggle to return after waiting too long yet again for lukewarm food.

Sadly had to edit my previous review due to a terrible take away tonight. My starter was burnt and inedible. I asked for extra pineapple and coriander in my dansak (offered to pay for it). Didn’t actually get any in never mind more. The bread was dry and tasteless and I’m still looking for the onion in my rice. I telephoned to speak to someone who was rude and dismissive telling me, “we very busy you know”. Sorry guys but that’s not good enough. The food I did eat kept me up all night.

Shockingly bad. Food arrived late and was stone cold, onion bhaji, bread, rice, chips and a special flatbread kebab inedible. Curries you could at least reheat but why should you when paying £50 for food! Spoke to the restaurant who offered a replacement, was already too late so waiting at least another hour was not going to happen. Or 20% discount on our next order... Which is also never going to happen.

Well...I have eaten a lot of Indian food in my time...in the UK and all over the World, including in India. This was one of the best Indian meals I have had...ever.

Popped up to Whitley Bay after moving away 32 years ago, the town has changed a lot but was very pleased to find such a great place with lovely lads serving us, spot on.

We went for dinner around 6 in the evening it was empty but later on people were coming in but it was not busy. Food is average, interior is beautiful, ambience is good.

If you're in Whitley Bay and looking for tasty food, with amazing staff and a friendly atmosphere, look no further!! This place is fab! I had the plain curry (chicken), nothing plain about it!! Wow!! Tasty flavours, chicken cooked to perfection, and mopped up with a peshwari naan. Naan was perfect, not too sweet but enough flavour! We were a party of 7, four of which were vegetarian and 1 with celiac disease, and they all found the menu with a variety of choices. Staff very help with celiac disease and advised what they could/couldn't have. Fully stocked bar, cocktail menu and pudding menu (if you have enough room!) We did as they were too good to resist!!! Get the coconut ice cream!!!! Mmmmm!!! 10/10

Very disappointed, how can you get a biryani wrong, there were several students/teenagers taking the orders tonight and they clearly had no grasp of what an Indian menu is, my biryani or rather the chicken tikka and rice turned up covered in lettuce and with no vegetable curry, but instead I was served a madras sauce with no vegetables, After making my feelings known to the students/teenagers, nothing was resolved, I went to pay expecting a discount only to be confronted by a small Indian/Bangladeshi bloke behind the bar who refused to give me his name and who appeared to be in charge but in fact called his manager, and he clearly didn’t have a clue either, they offered me a 10 percent discount, I just paid it and walked out, Disgraceful place, my last night in Whitley bay, and my stay there was marred by this place, never again, such a shame as I really enjoyed my visit to this part of the world,

The food wasn't authentic Indian, and it had a lot of excess oil.

Great curry....made me a bespoke Methi dish....fantastic

Usually i would not even complain but this was not nice. The sauce was watery, the chicken was tasteless and we just didnt enjoy at all. Basically went in the bin. The only thing i likes was the spicy lime pickle. It it hard for me to do this review, because the food is usually really nice from there. Will not be ordering again. 😒

It was a regular of mine years ago but went downhill, thought we'd give it a try and wow really glad we did food was amazing .

Visited on Thursday with my wife, son and sons mate! Everything we ordered tasted fantastic and the draught beer lovely and cool as was the white wine ! Great service in lovely surroundings! Highly recommended!

I have eaten here before and the food was ok but last night was absolutely shocking. The waiter had a proper attitude problem, so much so my lamb tikka starter was on the table before the pint of cobra, around 20 minutes. The main meal was inedible, I’ve never had chicken as tough as that, I sent it back straight away informing him that I wouldn’t be paying for such low standard food, the waiter insisted that he would need to speak to the manager to reverse the bill, another 15 minutes later I’m still sitting at my table with no food or drink. The customer next to me walked out after not getting his drink which he ordered 15 minutes previously, shocking. I ended up paying for my starter and drink and went for a chip butty, not what I was intending to do. The restaurant was quiet but they seemed to focus on their takeaway customers, hence an awful dining experience. Needless to say I won’t be back.

Just had a delicious take away from here! Was starting to lose hope after trying a few different places previously and constantly being disappointed. This was so different! Piping hot, just the right level of spice, gorgeous flavours and bang on with delivery time too! Will definitely use again and would highly recommend

The best in the business. Food and service is second to none, we travel more than 20 mile on a regular basis and it’s worth it every time.

Tried this Signature North Indian Chilli & Garlic dish with keema Naan and Jal Jal naan one of the spiciest Naan you get in UK. The Naan’s were fluffy and fresh and the 4 course and 5 course meals are not bad. The keema naan has to be more stuffed 2.5/5 Over all it’s a worth of trying. 4/5

Celebrated my birthday with my family in here on Friday, June 24th. Service was great, staff were so friendly and accommodating. Food was amazing, will be making this a regular haunt for sure.

Best (freshly made) curry, with great service and excellent value for money. If it was a bit closer, we:d be back next week. 👍

Possibly one of the best Indian Banquet my wife and I have ever had. From start to finish every dish was perfect and the friendly service was second to none. We would definitely recommend Takdir Indian Kitchen, Grill and Cocktail Bar to everyone and will definitely eat here again when in the area.
