Taj Mahal in South Kesteven

We have been coming here for years! Amazing food and service. Lovely family business. Tonight we received the order slightly late due to Valentine’s Day but we were pleasantly surprised when we received a Ferrero Rocher collection. So kind :)

Unacceptable wait times when ordering for delivery. Ordered nearly 2 hours ago and when status is updated to ‘out for delivery’ it then gets pushed back further. Clearly you’re not delivering it then? Ordered at 7pm it’s not nearly 9pm!!!!

It arrived late even though they told me when I called that it was on its way and it was still a further 15 minutes. I am a 2 minute drive away. The popadom was completely smashed to pieces

The food is always lovely and could never fault it! But the past few times ordering from here the delivery time has been a shock and never arrived on time, and today was over an hour, not sure if will order from here again! Let down by that!

Food was Cold & the mint yogurt dip/sauce for the starters was missing. Shame - the order to delivery lead time with this restaurant is a consistent problem, but this is the first time it was delivered cold & items were missing.

When i visited this Gorgeous Local Indian Restuarant, i was Welcomed by the Owner. I asked him if i could have my own table. That was not a problem. He then, led me to my table. I sat down, he handed the menu and the drinks, he did Inform me that, the Restaurant was a Non Alcoholic Establishment. I was very pleased when he told me. I ordered a bottle of Cobra 0.0. I then thoroughly Perused the menu. I chose the Onion Bahji,Rogan Josh, Sag Aloo and the Chefs Special Tandoori Mixed Grill. My order was taken down, and Food and Drink Server left me to let the Chef know, what i had ordered. I just relaxed and Enjoyed my bottle of Cobra 0.0. The Customer Service was Excellent. Overall i thought the whole visit was Well worth it. Great Food to Enjoy at my Leisure.If you were visiting, and you were Driving. They had a really Good choice of a Generous Selection of Non-Alcoholic Beverages and Soft Drinks as well. I was very Impressed and very Good Value for your money. A very Lovely and Modern Restaurant, situated in the Heart of Market Deeping. I be coming back to this Beautiful Indian Restaurant The Taj Mahal. 70 minutes late, cold and watery food, we had to call/message several time, staff didn’t seem to care, won’t be using again, very disappointed and not the first time recently.

Food was later than expected and was only just warm, but was completely delicious as always!

Not the best that we have had from hete. Not much sauce in the spinach based dishes as all & spinach abit stringy. Abit disappointed in all honestly. Same dishes i have had in the past but very different this time!

Good atmosphere and food excellent. Service not good, an hour and a half wait as staff seemed busy getting take away orders out as priority. We had booked our table so managers must have known the number of people who would be sitting at all the tables and needing serving. Also drinks got forgotten. Staff seemed to be overworked.

Awful customer service waiting still 2+hours for my order

Rudely rang up and told us to go to a food bank if we wanted free food after requesting a refund for missing food. Disgusting customer service!

Both the curries were not what was ordered unfortunately, not sure how that was managed but it was difficult to even tell the two apart by taste

My wife and I are retired and are lucky enough to travel around a lot, we are also lucky enough to be able to eat in the Taj on a regular basis. Without any doubt the food in the Taj is the very best we have ever had. Tuesday and Wednesday is deal night with a set menu, excellent value. You take your own drinks, they do not charge any corkage. Make sure you book as it gets very busy, be patient, enjoy your supermarket priced drinks, the food is so well waiting for.

Food was very tasty, still very warm. Prices are reasonable, but this is our favourite Indian takeaway local to us! Always good quality food that tastes lovely!

We have been to the restaurant on multiple occasions and the food and service has been amazing! Today we decided to order a take away…the food was terrible!! I ordered my fav, a Special king prawn bhuna which is normally creamy and spicy, what tuned up was a box of onions and peppers in a sauce that was so hot it wasn’t eatable! The prawns that I did get didn’t even look like prawn, they were a mangled mess. It was inedible and I had to stop eating after a few mouthfuls and ended up chucking a meal that cost £37 in the bin!!

Took more than two hours to be delivered said on the App 35-50 minutes, rang up after an hour and a half and sounded like they hadn’t even started making it. Food was good quality but probably wouldn’t ordered again at least through this App.

Food great, but over 30 minutes wait during the collection, (or 40 minutes from when I got the SMS advising it was ready), such a shame - not sure we will go back as it’s a regular occurrence. Needs better management/kitchen help. Restaurant was empty - so no excuses.

Waited an hour and a half for a takeaway. They were clearly accepting every order (for greed?) and failing to deliver. My jalfrezi had three prawns, huge pieces of onion, and very little sauce. Everybody was complaining.

the Madras lamb curry had 3 pieces of meat and just curry gravy - i was disappointing

First time ordering from here and will definitely be my last. Naan Bread was just a soggy mess. Bhajis were burnt, passnda curry was like water, huge chunks of chicken did not resemble any chicken I have ever eaten before. Overall a complete disaster

I've had good meals when eating in but last night we had a Just Eat order and it was not a good experience. After making the order they called me to say they didn't have the vegetable Samosas or the Paneer dish I ordered, being a vegetarian this wasn't great. Anyway agreed some compromise alternatives, one being a large Vegetable curry instead of small. However, when it arrived it was literally swimming in oil and the vegetables comprised only chopped carrots, peas and sweetcorn. I had to scoop the vegetables out of the tray with a fork in order that drain the oil they were in, it was barely edible. So disappointed after previous good experiences. My wife's prawn dish was better but I have to say, this is not the place to go if your vegetarian.

I used to really like taj but the quality has gone down hill. Food was cold & my naan bread was rock hard so couldn’t eat half of it. Just don’t think I’ll bother next time

Wednesday evening 6:00 pm. Restaurant was spotlessly clean, the staff really friendly and the prices very reasonable for this day and age. Add to this the generous portions and variety of choices and I have to say that I just couldn't fault it. The place was full which is always reassuring but was also very comfortable.

I've been going to the Taj Mahal on and off for 20 years, until recently, I don't think I've had a bad meal, however standards are slipping. The pros are, BYOB and it's reasonably priced, but the service and food seems mediocre at best. You won't have a bad meal, but I wouldn't rush back.

What a great little venue. Food was excellent and staff very helpful. Well worth a visit.

First time experience 1stJune 24. Tested this restaurant in the Peak time Saturday 6pm. Every table was booked and the staff were busy but on top. Food was delicious. The staff perfect under stress. Not a single fault. The Lamb Vindaloo was perfection. Mixed grill fantastically presented. Would recommend as the best curry in Deeping.

Food was a bit too hot 🔥 for my liking, with no option to choose strength. Apart from that, lovely food and delivered on time.

The attention is first class. The tasty food has several options that are not spicy to very spicy dishes. The place is very good, the decoration, the music and it is very clean. I recommend this place.

Authentic family run Indian restaurant, located in the heart of Market Deeping. I had a table booked for 7pm on Friday 3rd May. Upon entering, we greeted by three friendly waiters and escorted to our table with food menus. Shortly after, served poppadoms accompanied by pickled dips, and glasses for our own alcohol. The menu consists a wide selection of classic Indian dishes, and the waiters in depth knowledge of the curries played a pivotal role in helping us make the best food choices on the night. We had the Taj Mahal mixed starters and for mains were recommended to try the Chicken Tikka Jalfrezi, Lamb Shashlic, Chicken Korma and the Special Mix Grill Bhuna. To say the dishes went above our expectations would be an understatement. The meat was cooked to perfection, bursting with fresh, top quality ingredients & authentic flavours, left us craving for more. The Jalfrezi is by far the best I’ve ever had, came out on a sizzler dish and had the perfect level of heat. Naan breads (garlic and peshwari) came out piping hot and the soft & fluffy texture was a unique twist. Other restaurants serve them crispy but these were uniquely different, and the best accompaniment to our food. The restaurant was packed on the night. So our food (except the starters) served slightly later than expected. However, the waiters were very apologetic and offered poppadoms on the house as a goodwill gesture. We could see they were not only busy inside, but had abundant takeaway orders and could see the team were doing everything in their power to ensure a smooth experience for everyone. We didn’t mind waiting because the ambience and great service made up for this. Overall a fantastic night, not to be forgotten. Prices are beyond reasonable for the quality of food and food portion sizes. What surprised us the most was no service charge is applied to the final bill, and no cork charge for our own booze. They offer 10% discount on takeaway orders and have deal nights on Tuesday and Wednesdays. Will be visiting more frequently! Note: the menus do not highlight allergen information however the waiters will be able to advise on such information if required. Tip: be sure to book your table weeks in advance as they get booked up pretty quick.

We had a meal here tonight and was highly disappointed, we had a meal booked at 7:30pm and didn't get our food till 8:45 and when we finally got our food it wasn't great either soo disappointed missing food, really watery just very disappointed in all, we won't be coming again

Waited 2 hours and the food was cold, Naan inedible. Never had a bad meal in the restaurant or collection so maybe just eat delivery is not a good choice, especially in peak times!

Disappointed to have booked a table for 8pm for a birthday to still be waiting at nearly 8.30. The only table to be coming available was squeezed into a corner. Won’t bother going again.

A great place to eat! The staff at the Taj Mahal are lovely - always friendly and going out of their way for customers. The food is delicious - and with a great range for vegetarians. There are still many veggie dishes I'd like to return to try. You can BYOB although I never have myself. It's also located literally by a large car park and in the centre of the town so very easy to get to.

I went with family to celebrate a Birthday, it is a small restaurant but I was impressed by how nice it looked inside, the internal space is very well organized. The food was excellent and the service friendly. They don't serve alcohol but you can bring your own bottles and consume them at the table.

The best indian take away in town!! 🤩 Recommended to everyone! Food quality and flavour is superb!

best curry ive had ever i think every dish was soooo good

Order was meant to arrive at 8:20pm (an hour and 10 mins from initial ordering time) and arrived at 9:10. The food was warm, bordering cold and the sides were rock hard. All in all, from ordering the food we were waiting for 2 hours. We spent £70 and the food was not up to quality.

Marked as delivered 30 minutes before delivery actually came. It's probably to get good justeat stastics without being on time

We went to celebrate our friend's birthday last Saturday night and the food and service was amazing! The food was hot, fresh and perfect. We wasn't rushed and all our meals arrived together. Would definitely recommend

All of the rice dishes has a burnt taste. We were a large party and but it took 2 hours before we got out food.

Delayed delivery, popadoms was burned, and food wasn’t overly warm! Very disappointed as placed order at 6:30, and requested 7:25, to which pushed back to 7:50, but didn’t receive till gone 8:30! Not impressed and what I payed was not up to the quality resived! not acceptable! Will not order again!

What an absolute amazing restaurant, without doubt the number one place to dine within market deep in. Not only is the food amazing but the staff an atmosphere make the number one place for me every time.

Everyone uses that cliche best Indian I’ve ever had . But honestly the quality, taste and service of this restaurants meals is consistently superior to any we have anywhere else. Can’t recommend enough

A lovely meal once again love their food and go regularly with my son and friends have been eating here since they opened and friendly and pleasant staff as always. Went last night and my wife does not do spicy food so she had steak and chips with all the trimmings and rated it the best steak she has had for a long long time. Thanks lads

Food arrived 1 hour 20 minutes later than stated at point of ordering. Arrived cold, as well as curry dish spilt within bag and all over other items.

Shame used to be our favourite but second time the foods been really salty and the chicken didn’t taste great and was dry.
