Best Chinese place to have food. Clean and good.

Ordered some take away. The food was actually quite nice.

This used to be our go too take away, a little bit more expensive but worth it. The last two times we have ordered food, it tasted as if the chef had never tasted or cooked Chinese food before. Not totally unpleasant but not Chinese! There will be no third chance!

Ordered a delivery late and turned up quickly. Food was not good, especially for the price. Nothing fancy ordered just some wings, noodles and a crispy beef. Unlikely to order again.

We got 20%off as it was our first order. It was a Saturday night takeaway, it was really busy but our order was prompt. Probably the best Chinese takeaway in the HA5 and HA6 area. We had sweet n sour fish which came in a light batter not the average thick crust, Thai chicken wings was very good, crispy without too much of a batter, capital ribs was average and sauce was a bit "artificial" the average takeaway style, salt and pepper squid, which was light and gluten free, really nice, and beef stir-fry in black bean, also good.

This takeaway is the most disgusting one I have ever had. There was about two inches of bright orange oil on top of my satay sauce. The chicken had the skin falling off of it, and tasted undercooked and like blood. The sweet and sour sauce was also fluorescent red. The fried rice, was plain steamed rice with some green onions in. Do not order from this restaurant. Absolutely appalling, such a mistake and waste of money.

Poor quality food. Order online and took nearly two hours to arrive. Received a voucher that only lasted for 3 days. Avoid!!

Used the new app to order take away. I accidentally ordered two mock ducks, and immediately telephoned to change one to something else rather than take a credit. Even though I said I was a vegetarian they put in prawn crackers which are not vegetarian. I thought the switched dish was black bean chicken - I washed it and examined it and it certainly smelt and looked like chicken - the dog loved it! My husband wasn't sure and when I telephoned they said it was a chicken substitute - if it was it was the most chicken like I have tasted in all my vegetarian years! I am going to have another look at it tomorrow. I unfortunately found two hairs, one I couldn't swear wasn't mine so giving the benefit of the doubt. I ended up feeling sick - my fault, perhaps! Got a lot left over. Delivery was quick and driver very nice.

Seaweed stringy , chewy and tasted over cooked - crispy shredded beef warm - chewy no sauce- burnt garlic - rang and was told she would talk to the chef - I asked if it could be resent- was told I had to bring those items back to show the chef- no refund and wouldn’t re deliver and take the food I’d complained back. Nearly 30 pounds. Very very disappointed with customer service as I am a loyal customer. I will NOTbe using them again.

I can honestly say I was given the worst takeaway I’ve ever had in my life The beef in black bean sauce tasted like it was off and the smoked crispy chicken tasted like something out of Iceland store with absolutely no taste no garnish and no crispy ness absolutely awful The rice had a bitter aftertaste that repeated on me £35 wasted I was completely disappointed to say the least.

The lady made me wait 10 mins to take my order since the phone orders were prioritised - she said 1 second. At the 6 minute mark the they asked me if I was ready to order but continued to organise deliveries without taking my order or any clarification on timescales for even taking my order. Just not british and rude peole. I walked out and went to the local kebab shop

First time ordering a takeaway from here, we usually go to their restaurant around the corner. Excellent food and lovely happy lady behind the counter.

Good food. Had chicken fried rice, tai pan chicken and veg fried rice.

Wonderful service, super clean kitchen, speedy, tasty food, really good value for money. TaiPan is definitely my go-to now, so happy we found it!

Tai Pan is a local institution, always serving up reliably tasty food delivered in a timely manner. Though the food is a little bit more expensive than other options, the quality of the food is excellent. Love this place - recommend it to all!

Terrible, big mistake ordering the pad Thai, just awful.... Duck wasn't bad and the beef was OK...

Food used to be very good but not not so. Also hygiene rating has dropped to 1. They have had a year to improve their rating but nada.

We waited for over an hour for food to be delivered to us. We even paid extra for delivery. When the food was 30 min late we called to ask and they said it was on its way. We only live 10 minutes away so we called back 15 minutes later to find out where it was and we were told they were still waiting for the driver to pick it up... this meant our food had been sat there getting cold for over 30 min. Why did they lie when we first called? We could have picked it up easily had we known. Instead I had my 4 year old twins sitting at home waiting for food which NEVER ARRIVED. Untrustworthy and dishonest. Shame cos the restaurant is lovely... this branch of the take away should be ashamed of themselves.

For a special occasion we decided to order a take out from Taipan Express, mainly because the express had Thai curry choices as opposed to the restaurant which didn’t have these choices. The Thai currys both red and green were inedible and were nothing like a Thai curry. The red chicken Thai curry had a distinct bad smell and tasted just as bad. Both the smoked shredded chicken and the fried spare ribs were tasteless and chewy. Spare ribs were greasy and fatty. It was an expensive take out which you don’t mind if you’re paying for the quality but this was inedible and we ended up throwing away most of the take out. It was rotten end to our lovely day. I would not recommend this place.

Used to be great. Now....? Ordered food at 6.30, told they were busy, delivery would be an hour. Food arrived with an apology at 8. Cold. Rang to complain, put on hold. Then offered replacement food or 20% off next time. Eventually offered 30% off next order. Didn't seem to understand this wasn't a suitable offer. Replacement food and delivery today would mean 100% of the same costs to them, so why a penny pinching 20 or 30% discount off next order?

Great Chinese/pan Asian takeaway. The menu is extensive and great quality. The service is speedy and offer delivery if within a certain radius. The food is on the pricey side, however the quality is there. Have been going here for years since it opened and can’t complain.

Good food but why is the service SO BAD here. Every time I dine here the staff seem to be on their period. I mean it doesn’t cost to smile or constantly try to rush us. The credit goes to the chefs that do the hard work, without the tasty food I think you will struggle to get loyal customers. I only came to the other day to give you a a chance and support you during the government scheme but sometimes I think why bother.

Tai Pan Express is a reliably good takeaway with quick service and a wide range of dishes. Lots of fish and veggie options for non meat eaters.

Food turned up incredibly quickly, and delivery driver was polite. Hence 2 stars. Rice was as described, but thai red curry more like 'chicken with pineapple' (maybe wrong dish?) I thought the crispy beef was chicken but v difficult to find any protein.

I don't tend to leave reviews, but I am getting fed up with take-away food places taking advantage of the general public and ripping them off. It's time to fight back. I live fairly close to Tai Pan Express and have regularly from them over the past few years. They are pricier than other take away places, but I felt the quality of the food compared to other chinese take aways in the are justified the prices. However, I have noticed that recently, their food quality has dropped. I have had the following issues to date: a) The egg 'fried' rice was NOT fried. It was more like boiled rice with some egg thrown in. b) The soft vegetable noodles were too salty. c) The chicken pieces in their dishes used to be cooked with fresh raw chicken meat, but now it appears to be cooked from frozen, so tends to be chewy and devoid of any taste. d) The portion of prawns in the dishes have dropped. I will continue to monitor the quality of their food and write reviews accordingly

Having tried countless chinese takeaways, this is the best by far. The food us always hot and extremely good, with a quick delivery service. Not the cheapest but you get what you pay for.

Always enjoy Tai Pan food from the take away but rather more chopped onions than black beans and pepper this time

We enjoyed a takeaway for 6 people for about £10 each (11 dishes) - main courses only. The fish dishes are particularly good. The veggie dishes including tofu are nicely cooked too. Lots of plastic containers left afterwards which is quite a waste.

This takeaway Chinese is consistently good. There’s a good choice of veggie dishes for non meat eaters which is welcome. Not the cheapest but good quality.

A cousin of the main Tai Pan restaurant this is situated on the main Northwood high street and caters to take aways. We ordered a noodle dish which was just about ok. Prices are a bit on the high side.

Purposely went here as restaurant is good. The takeaway was really really awful. And yet very expensive. Food was so bad. Tasted processed. Every dish we ordered was a big disappointment. Couldn't have been a one off. I rang to complain and they hung up on me twice! I persisted and just got a very rude 'manager'. Will NEVER get food from here again....or Tai Pan restaurant now.

Food is fresh and delicious. The chicken cashew nuts has almost no sauce, if you like to eat the dish with rice. For the Dim Sum platter was no sauce. I’m a bit disappointed that I asked for the coconut based soup ( tom kha gai) and the lady hasn’t told me, that they don’t have it and gave me another one without telling me

Ordered from tai pan last night.

Something has gone very bad at taipan express. Just ordered a simple meal to fill us up after getting back from holiday. It was either dry (crispy duck), inedible (fried rice, yes how is it possible to be inedible? You should have tried it!!) This place is a disgrace and deserves to be shut down. Premium Price and zero quality

We have been customers of Tai Pan for many years. Sometimes had small issues such as missed items from the order but nothing major.

Ordered sweet and sour for family. I insisted on ordering from Tai Pan ,even though I was disappointed with my last order ,as it used to be excellent and I thought it as just a one off. NO. It arrived almost immediately, so couldn't have been freshly cooked, in a watery and tasteless sauce (no veg). Will listen to the family next time.

Pedimos algo de comida de esta llevar porque su calidad de restaurante es excelente. Llegó en unos 5 minutos y sabor de una comida preparada en un supermercado barato. El amigo especial que es arroz 5 Libras era insípida y tenía trozos de jamón graso en vez de la típica char cerdo sui, los rollitos primavera pato estaban llenos de zanahoria y fideos de cristal y no pato y la dulce y agria pollo estilo Hong Kong era tan malo que sabía puramente de vinagre. Tienen el saldo completamente equivocados. La mayoría de nuestros llevar terminó en la papelera!

Great food. Cannot rate the food enough but the staff can be rather stand off ish with you on occasion.

I'm puzzled why this take away doesn't score more highly. In my experience the food is consistently good and especially the fish and vegetarian options like the fried fish with ginger and garlic. Happy to recommend.

I have been a Northwood resident for 10 years and this was my go to Chinese Takeaway.I have to be honest , the quality of food here is not a patch on what it used to be. Food is increasingly oily, bland and in many cases sauces taste weird. Tonight Chicken and Cashew nuts sauce had a taste of washing up liquid and the duck spring rolls were completely void of duck ! I think I've had enough of this place now. Prices went up , quality came down .....Shame......

This take away only Chinese restaurant provides consistently good dishes and fast service. The menu is wide and prices are reasonable though not the cheapest in town. There are some fish and veggie options for non meat eaters but it would be good to see more fish dishes.

We were recommended the takeaway by friends and told it was a little more expensive but worth it. We ordered a range of meat dishes and I have to agree with some of the other reviews and say that in the main it was good but the chicken wasn't. I would have given it 4 had it not been for the chicken.

food is terribly oily, doesn't seem as if they use fresh ingredients (most likely frozen) and their manners over the phone is not even worth going into.Been ordering for years but their manager was so rude the last time I spoke to them I will never use them again.

Popped in for lunch. the service was quick but the food was very much take a way food. I was not impressed and the ginger tea weak. The decor was pleasant and the waitress very pleasant. I would not recommend it for Asian cuisine, just when you are in a hurry and need a quick bite.

Recommended ordering food for the lads on a Saturday night shift; which arrived promptly but unfortunately was bland and nowhere near the standard that I usually receive from the branch in Ruislip.Crispy shredded beef consisted of very little chewy beef; encased in crumbly batter with a chilli sauce which had no flavour.Singapore noodles were also bland, not spicy as advertised and had very little meat.Duck spring rolls may as well have been vegetable spring rolls, and by vegetables I mean there were literally a few bean sprouts accompanied by the smallest slither of duck.Even the curry sauce was flavourless! That is an accomplishment! How do you make bland curry sauce?Terrible experience; should have sent someone down to the Misty Moon to collect, and what’s worse is that I now have a night shift where the guys will never trust any future recommendations from me!Luckily I had some tinned mackerel in spicy sauce which at least provided some flavour as a side accompaniment.

Chicken was cheap and nasty. Hardly any Thai green sauce, and what little there was tasted bland. Huge chunks of raw pepper. Lukewarm. Even worse - the crispy salt squid. Great globs of slimy sludge covered in barely-cooked breadcrumbs. This was my birthday meal tonight. I was in the bath when it arrived as they said it would take 45 minutes but it was here in less than 15. Never again.

The food is delicious and the takeaway menu extensive. Pretty pricey though. My kids love the prawn crackers.

Have been using Tai Pan Express for many years.The food is very hit and miss.In general dishes like the duck and beef chow mein are always good but the quality of many of the other dishes varies considerably .The soups like chicken and sweet corn , chicken dishes and beef dishes are sometimes great and other times on the poorer side.Also I have had cold food delivered when they are busy and they never offer a refund.Personally I think they are overpriced for the food they produce but not much else in area. I guess they have a captured market .

The takeaway come in 10 mins though we were told it would take 25 mins to half hour. That's all well and good but it was obvious we had the left overs of the day. The food was nothing to write home about. In fact, I doubt we will be ordering from Tai Pan Express again. In Chinese opposite is the better option.

Quite simply, for veg and non-veg, really good food and drink with great service. What more do you want from a restaurant. 5 people with service came to 30 per head. And we were stuffed !

I've used this takeaway once before and the food was good. This time I ordered Shredded Beef with Chilli, and Chicken and Cashew Nuts with yellow bean sauce. The Beef dish was very tasy, but the chicken was abysmal. The texture and taste of the chicken pieces was exactly the same as the cheap frozen chicken breasts with added 'salt water' for flavour, you sometimes see in the super markets (80-85% chicken). No visible chicken fibres, nor fresh chicken taste. I'm fairly certain the chicken was from this kind of source. Also it smelled a little off. For £6.80 I expect much better from a takeaway. I returned it.

Quick, freshly made in front of you, reasonably priced and very tasty. They will adjust the spice level to suit individual needs.

We have bought take-aways from Tai Pan Express regularly for many years. The food is good quality and tasty. There is plenty of choice. They are happy to adapt their menu for customers. It is quite reasonably priced. The staff are friendly and efficient. We always order and pick-up. It is usually quite quick but if you order at a very busy time it could take half an hour. I am particularly impressed with the professionalism and cleanliness of the kitchen - it is open plan so that you can see the kitchen from the ordering counter.

Unlike the flagship restaurant nearby, this takeaway outlet is run by cooks that are simply not up to task of cooking a decent meal from their menu.Heavy handed on the salty soy sauce and prepared rather without much care on who will eat this "food"My advice, go to the main restaurant and order from there.Yes, wait a while but excellent chef making proper food.

Ordered monk chicken satay, veg spring rolls and veg pan Thai noodles. Not sure what the noodles were but they were a sold gluten lump by the time we drove the 5 mins home to eat it, spring rolls had barely anything it them and the satay was deep fried within a inch of its life! Avoid eating here if you like your taste buds and enjoy food.

Having purchased a number of meals from here over a 12 mth period we noticed a significant decline in quality on our last visit in Apr. The food was bland, tasteless and just plain ordinary. Having enjoyed food previously we rang to let them know. Apparently they had changed some recipes (Pad Thai for example). What was more disappointing than the food was the absolute lack of care from the staff about the complaint. In their words - 'oh well if you don't want to come again that's fine'. We won't visit again and neither will many friends who have also detected the decline. It is disappointing as it used to serve outstanding food.

The Tai Pan has been a Northwood institution for a number of years. They have a few restaurants in the area; Ruislip and Uxbridge both have Tai Pan restaurants and there is an 'Express' in northwood just for takeaways. The northwood restaurant has recently had a major facelift and now is significantly nicer inside than before, not that the restaurant wasn't pleasant beforehand. The food at the tai pan is absolutely excellent, this is not your normal msg-laden Chinese meal. The menu is wide-ranging, with plenty of options, all of which in my experience are very very tasty. You can get a takeaway from the restaurant, more expensive than the express round the corner, but worth the extra. We know the owners and staff quite well (they are lovely people), often being given freebies, long term patronage does have benefits!I'd happily eat here every week if my wallet (and waste line) would allow it!

We haven't found a better Chinese locally. It is expensive and can sometimes be a bit greasy but on the whole it's ok.
