Syrena in Wycombe

The food was absolutely amazing, really tasty and really generous portions. Lovely to be able to have such traditional Polish dishes locally. Lovely setting and decor too. Will definitely be back for more!

This is a hidden gem within Wycombe. The food is very good and under priced for how good it is. It's really refreshing to try polish cuisine and it does not disappoint. The service is good, the waitress was polite and knowledgeable, the small size of the restaurant helps give it a really nice intimate atmosphere. There was a good selection of polish beers which is always good and again very reasonably priced. It clearly has a loyal set of customers, but if you haven't been, I would strongly recommend doing so. I will definitely be returning here, out of the restaurants I've been to in Wycombe, this is my favorite.

I have had several free delivery orders from this restaurant. All arrived quickly with a polite and efficient driver. Portions were large and more than sufficient for the most ravenous appetite. This is a place I will definitely use again.

Plenty of street parking around after 6pm. Warm, clean, stylish friendly cosy restaurant. Smilling efficient waitress, orders taken no hassle. Food delicious, fresh, well presented, man-size portions which cheers us up. I had duck with sauerkraut, my mate had schnitzel. Super. Waitress checked - was everything OK - in 2020 Britain it was like we were customers and she wanted us to enjoy the restaurant. Revolutionary! - after the unending dismal service I get in Oxford. Bill was £17 each for this and two nice bottle beers each. I tipped OTT with no regrets. We enjoyed it so much, we were late into the theatre. Only downside is the setting is urban high st - get over yourself, it's a hidden gem. If you want to eat well, relax and feel welcome, come here ASAP

The new decor is lovely and fresh, speedy friendly service but the food is exceptional! Everything cooked fresh and to great standards serving traditional polish cuisine that makes you feel at home! Regularly pop in or order takeaway and never disappoints..just make sure you leave room for a cake!

Delicious, fresh homemade food. I had today pork schnitzel with cheese and mushroom-totally recommend this one! The best garlic sauce I ever had -it’s obvious they made it fresh not from the bottle. It’s a must try in High Wycombe!

We always have a weekly treat of Syrena, either popping in or take away! Food always amazing! Soups are lovely, pork neck and the chicken in mushroom sauce are favourites!!!

Delicious food - Braised neck of pork (cooked To perfection) with dill mashed potato, spinach/feta dumplings in fine tomato sauce and apple cake for dessert. Simple, quality, and wouldn’t have changed any of it . Lovely service, 2 drinks and 2 doughnuts to take away and all for £23 odd quid - couldn’t have been happier with experience. Go!

Don't be fooled by the look of this place. Yes it is a small place with a very basic decor in a street of questionable reputation. And this is not fine dining, but honest down to earth traditional dishes from Poland and they are very well made. After considering this place for quite a while, finally my mate and I went there the other day and that was the best decision for a long time. Soup of the day was not on (!) but instead we both chose the Sour Soup, which was fantastic. Creamy with a hint of mustard, and with mash and smoked sausage pieces, almost a meal in itself! Then we had pork schnitzel with cheese and braised pork neck. Both very tasty and HUGE! We had to admit defeat and leave leftovers and not having dessert. The bill ended up at a very reasonable 34 quid including 2 pints. The staff is really friendly and service was fast. We will surely come back.

Provato questo piccolo locale polacco nel paese di High Wycombe; le recensioni ne parlavano abbastanza bene. Devo dire, senza infamia ma pure senza lode. Mi sono sfamato. La zuppa tipica polacca (Zhurek) non era male; la cotoletta impanata di secondo invece era troppo piena d’olio. Non sono riuscito a terminarla.  Riconosco loro che le porzioni sono estremamente generose. Il locale è assai semplice, piu’ un bar con pochi tavolini che non un vero ristorante. Non mi è piaciuto il senso di appicicaticcio del tavolo dove ero seduto io, dovuto non tanto alla NON pulizia, bensì al tipo di materiale che li ricopre.

I'm a regular customer and I really love this restaurant. If you had a hard day and you wish for some Polish traditional dish- this is a right place to eat. I truly recommend this place for the reason of the best sour soup I've ever had and a huge choice of homemade cakes!

Went for lunch. Never been to a Polish restaurant before so I was a little apprehensive... the place is small but nicely decorated. Welcoming.

I've eaten here many times and always enjoyed the food and the welcome. Was extremely disappointed to be turned away at 8.02 on a Friday evening, as they now close at 8pm.

We happened to be in high Wycombe one Sunday and found tjis place by accident. What a find that was! Its a tiny, cosy restaurant run by very nice people. For those who know and like Polish food, you will not find more tasty, delicious dishes at very low prices! Everything is freshly prepared and served with a smile. Highly recommended!

I ordered beef goulash , potato pancake and sourcrout as a takeaway. The delivery was slow and the food arrived only warm! However, the taste and quantity were fantastic. I loved the food and enjoyed the rich flavours. I would love to visit the restaurant but my wife is gluten and bovine diary intolerant. I recommend the food.

Lots of lovely different things to choose from. Fabulous mashed potatoes, Stuffed Chicken, garlic mushrooms. Big, big portions.

This definitely with to visit if you really hungry and want to try something new. Overall good place

wonderful meal with son,his girl friend and wife staff so friendly and helpful as it was our first visit very relaxed atmosphere will def recommend and will certainly return superb meal .

Beautifully cooked Polish food. The menu range is sufficient to generate interest in further visits. The soup and dumplings were particularly yummy. Be prepared for more than you might expect to eat.

My suggestion would be to have the pork schnitzel with cheese! Excellent value. We will be coming back. Highly recommended.

Taken away from here few times. Tried a variety of the dishes that i have never eaten before and everything has been delicious. Real homecooked comfort food, easy to become addicted. And the staff are lovely too. Perfect if you want to try something different.

Like mums home made dinners and massive positions to have. It doesn't look like restaurant but the taste inside is great. Highly recommended for everybody.

My other half and I thought we'd give it a go on 'justeat' as we fancied something different. I went for a nice healthy beef goulash with buckwheat whilst the boyfriend opted for the pork schnitzel with mushroom,cheese and fries.

Tried out Syrena for the first time. Dishes had looked really interesting online and we were not disappointed. We shared meat Pirogi to start and then followed up with Goulash- either with potato cakes (very much like Rosti) or the best Buckwheat I had tasted. All served with many side salads. HUGE portions - so large we took home half for dinner! Lovely staff - would recommend.

Excellent food, huge portions and very good prices. The staff is very friendly and welcome. I visit the restaurant quite regularly and not going to stop :) very recommended, we needed polish restaurant in High Wycombe!

Wife and I went for dinner after work and were delighted by whole experience. Great food, friendly welcome and good value for money prices. Meals were well presented and tasted great. Looking forward to eating there again

Family visit with 2 children. All the soups tasted delicious. We were filled up by the Gawampki (meat in lettuce parcels). Kids liked the battered chicken and chips option. Very clean. Charming host, excellent service.

Spotted the restaurant when passing and saw the great reviews on TA. Thought we would try it and was not disappointed. All the food was tasty, the staff were friendly and recommend a few dishes for us. Amazing value for money. We will def be back again.

I'm not Polish but decided to give this place a go as it was recommended by a friend.

Pierwsza polska restauracja w High Wycombe i zdecydowany hit moim zdaniem. Zawsze czysto i pysznie. Dania świeże i przygotowywane w dobrym, starym stylu. Porcje ogromne, co jest dla wielu plusem i bardzo w polskim stylu :) Coś co mnie ujmuje w tym miejscu to mądra właścicielka - słucha swoich klientów i dostosowuje menu do ich potrzeb. Każdy znajdzie coś dla siebie: sałatki, pierogi i nawet golonka dla śmiałków.

Visited couple of time with my friends and family. Never let down. Food is amazing and the special of the day that will only cost £5 is a bargain. Always hot food with really good portions. It is tiny little restaurant but food is just to die for. And soon they will deliver what else do you need. Well done guys keep it up. Will definitely will see you soon.

We've been there with my boyfriend for a dinner on our friend recommendation.

I recently visited Syrena with my Polish girlfriend and our friends. Firstly, my girlfriend said the food was nostalgic and made her bubble with joy as she tucked into her żurek, and having been to Poland countless times myself it really reminded me of my girlfriend's mum's home cooking - it was superb. And not only that, the portions were huge! By the time I got to my main of pork knuckle, I was already satisfied and ending up leaving with about 3/4s of my main meal in a doggy bag. Our friends loved the new flavours they had not experienced before and said they would be back by themselves. The staff were lovely and made us feel welcome and comfortable. My only advice, order the pork knuckle to share if you don't fancy a Man Vs. Food challenge.
