Swinton Balti Chef in Salford

We have ordered several times over the past few months and have really enjoyed every dish each time. We usually spend around £50-60 for 6 (4 adults & 2 children) as we like to have a balance of mild and hot curries, there is always leftovers. The dishes are extremely tasty, distinctly different and never oily. I do find some of the hotter dishes (chicken tikka chilli massala, jalfrezi) to be slightly hotter than other takeaways (just my personal opinion). Everything is so fresh and flavoursome. We would highly recommend the Fish Tikka Korai (spelling taken from the menu). It is packed with fish and flavour and is extremely moreish! The onion bhaji’s are always fresh and packed with herbs and spices - again, never oily. I could go on and talk about all the dishes. I know food, tasted and styled are preference but for taste, quality and portion size you can’t go wrong.

Made a mistake on my order tried calling for 30 mins and continuously engaged. Ended up with items i didnt want because they must have phone off the hook!

Marrow fat peas in rice what !! Food ok personally prefer another local take away. Special rice sorry it was dreadful . Marrow fat peas lots of them in the fried egg rice . I collected on time as ordered online . Had to microwave as it was going cold . Sorry will be going back to my usual . 85p for the smallest onions pot . I know prices have to be raised but an onion does not cost 85 pence a pot . Personal choices

It's very lovely food place and very nice people

Have been using these for years. Ordered one last night. As ever delicious food. The food has been of high standard over all the time we have been using them.

Don't know if it's just me but out of 4 orders on separate weeks, they delivered only 1 meal correct. 1st order wrong altogether, 2nd no nan's, 3rd was right, 4th sent popadoms instead of nan's.although the meals are nice, but by I get the right stuff delivered, the things I get are cold.

Excellent food. Curries were vibrant in taste and colour and distinct difference between the various curry types. Great level of heat without being too hot and collection was right on time.

Donot follow allergy information they give to customers, we called and asked for gluten free, advised there are options, we got curry that was supposed to be gluten free and it wasnt , do not recommend. Taste not so great as well .

Had 2 mixed tikka and donner kebabs on nan with salad and chilli sauce delivered. No salad 2 strips of Donna and two thumb nail sized pieces of chicken tikka £8 each really poor want order again

This is now our favourite take away, food is always fresh and delicious. Myself and my partner are extremely fussy were we order from and its hard to find a good quality take away this place is exceptional and we have never been disappointed it's also extremely reasonable in price

I'm really fussy about food, esp a nice Indian meal, and this was really tasty, not greasy at all, and really good value. I will definitely order again and would recommend 👌

The best Indian takeaway in Swinton!

I live in London but am in the area to visit my partner’s family. Came here in Dec 2019 for a veg vindaloo. If I ain’t sweating by the second bite, it’s not hot enough. I was not disappointed. After building it up for years, finally got to make a trip back and was happy to see them still trading. Even happier that the vindaloo was just as tasty as I remembered. My goodness, what a fantastic curry. I’ll be back every time I’m in town.

Great , Best Indian local takeaway, really like Chicken Tikka Masala

Food Is absolutely amazing from here always pipping hot and so fresh they deliver to us in eccles and its never to much trouble I wouldn't go anywhere else ! I got caught out on just eat thinking I was ordering from swinton balti chef but it was infact swinton balti and I was really disappointed with the food

Ordered a madras, had no flavour and tasted like a medium curry, the keema Nan had barely any meat inside, won't be ordering again.

When I spoke to them on the phone I found the man to be abrupt and disrespectful. When I asked how long the food would be I was told when it is ready, will not order nor recommend them to anyone. I have spoken with staff and am happy with the apology that I received irregardless to the above issue and accept that we all have bad days. Will try again in the future and see what' happens. To the guy I spoke to on the phone thanks again for your kind words.

Great Indian takeaway consistent in it's service and quality of the meals prepared.

How the mighty have fallen. Used to love this place, it's now a shadow of it's former self. THEIR WEBSITE STATES THEY HAVE A FIVE STAR HYGIENE RATING, I CHECKED, THEY HAVE TWO. Not only are they economical with the truth, they now serve overpriced very low quality food. AVOID.

Last week 1and half hours later than they said. Gave them benefit of doubt because they were busy. This week over an hour late and food was cold. Never again

Order arrived very quickly and was piping hot. All of the dishes were so tasty and full of flavour. The driver forgot the naan bread but went back to get it for us. First time trying here and one of the nicest curries we’ve had for a while. Will be going back again!

I used to go here all the time when I lived in Clifton and it was always beautiful food, hot and tasty. I moved to Eccles and didn't go for a while....ordered again and wow, impressed, flavour, value for money and most importantly to me is consistency. I will definitely be back soon as thoroughly enjoyed it and would highly recommend.

Ordered on new years eve at 6.45 never turned up and not even answered the calls to see where they was

Our regular curry takeaway has been lovely but when busy not as good. Worth a try though.

Ordered a takeaway this evening. Clicked sa soon as possible delivery on the website. 1 hour later I phoned to ask where my food was. I was informed another 10-15 minutes. When it arrived driver said here, alright ok and left. One of the two curries was cold. The nan bread was still raw in parts and what wasn't was so chewy. A huge waste of money. Don't bother.

There are very few restaurants that I can say have never given me a bad meal, but Swinton Balti Chef is definitely one of them. The food is always hot and delicious, and the service excellent! Highly recommended. ☆☆☆☆☆

Took over 2 hours to arrive, order placed at 17:42 and arrived at 20:00, I appreciate Saturday nights are busy but that is ridiculous. Rang at 19:00 to see how long it would be and was told 25 minutes and it was still another hour, no apology, no discount, terrible customer service

We have used swinton balti chef for many years and never repeat never had a bad meal. Every curry has brilliant and consistent.

Absolutely love the food from here. We generally get the same one Garlic Murgi Tikka as it is so delicious. Always so fresh and tasty.

Really rude when I phoned them up. When I politely asked if I could place an order I was rudely told 'not taking anymore orders. Too busy' and they hung the phone up on me. Really annoyed at the disgusting attitude.

Took an hour to arrive. They forgot the chips which then took another half hour. Man on phone is quite abrupt. Food was good but would have been nice to have it all at once.

tryed to order swintons largest kebab like i do on a weekly basis ,was lied too by several telephone agents got nothing but abuse and was told that they would no longer be delivering to us dont understand why but i can guarantee i wont be ordering again and will be telling all of my friends that ive recomended to never to order from there again they are obviously not happy delivering to people outside of bradford crap service is all i can say.

Nice and clean, 5 stars hygiene, staff are friendly, we have only picked up our order so can't say about delivery service, price is reasonable, the food is amazing, lots of taste and textures, delicious, delectable. We don't eat a lot of takeaways so this is always a really good treat!!

Decided to give this place a go after reading positive reviews but was not impressed. Everything is pre-prepared and thrown into a pan with the same basic tasteless sauce. Its your typical sweet gloopy slop with the only fresh ingredient being the coriander. Roti bread seemed dry and old. It's also a lot more expensive than average. All in all pretty shameful attempt at a Balti House

One of the best take-a-ways in Salford, won awards year after year and is a 5 for food hygiene. Great service and friendly staff.

Went here for the first time tonight for the xxl kebab for me and my husband OMG it was massive!!!! Meat was lovely, no bones in the kebab bit and the rest was just awesome - Freshly made in front of you, nice staff and quick!! Will be going back for sure now I've found a decent Kebab place!!!:)
