Sweeties is such a lovely shop, an amazing range of different chocolates and sweets, from vintage mixes to american produce, always well stocked including some delicious treats from Slatterys and always friendly service with a smile. The prices are great too. I have bought many things here including hand picked gift wrapped hampers and you cannot beat the £5 treat bags as gifts! The quality of the products is so good too.

Every sweet you could wish to imagine and more. i visit this shop in Rawtenstall when i want to treat myself and it never disappoints, there is a huge selection of every kind of sweet. Most things are priced clearly and reasonably but the odd thing can be abit expensive, you just need to make sure you look carefully at what you're buying so you dont get a shock at the till. The staff ive been served by are usually helpful and nice. ive seen a couple of different women working there now and never had a problem them. Overall its a good place to find and buy sweets, probably the best in the local area.

Whereas there are recognisable brand names for packaged stuff such as Bassett's liquorice etc, the jars of loose sweets are of a generic "Sweeties" brand, which was a bit of a let down. It may well be that they are very good sweets, but I much prefer a sweet shop that stocks the well-known major brands, such as Buchanan's.

Me and my partner visited this sweet shop during a day out to Rawtenstall. The sweets seem a little over priced and you dont get the feel of an old fashioned sweet shop. The shop itself is a little jumbled with different sweets crammed in every available space, the jelly bean machine is the highlight of the shop, but as other customers have noted, the looks from the staff while you choose your sweets are quite uncomfortable. The staff are also very abrupt and rude, like they really dont want to be there and also dont want you in the shop, trying to make conversation with them is difficult. We have been a couple of times purely for the jelly bean machine but if the staff were nice we would probably go more and also it may bring in more custom, as each time we have visited the shop has been empty whether this is on busy weekends or during the week.

Called into the shop to pick up some sweeties for my kids. I asked for 50p of mixed bomboms, no couldnt have that, too much work, had to have all the same favour. The blonde haired lady was so rude in the way she said it. I was going to buy other things but turned away and walked out. A couple days before my husband had been in to buy a can of vanilla coke, they charge over £1 if you go across the road they are 50p. Buy your sweeties from the market!!

Attended Sweeties as a treat for my 3 daughters aged 12, 10 and 6. The girls entered the shop very excited as one would expect in a child's sweet shop. My youngest daughter sadly dropped 3 jelly bean sweets from her scoop. I turned to the assistant to say sorry and her facial expression was appalling. She said "pick them up", which is fine but I was shocked at her whole approach and attitude to this 'incident'. Surely, a child should feel welcome and comfortable in a sweet shop. I am sorry to write this review so negatively but you really do need at look at your customer service and how you treat people. Often, it is not what is said, it's how it is said. I explained to my girls that we would have to leave and placed the sweet bags on the counter and said good bye.

I previously ordered food! Absolute terrible service! Took over an hour to turn up was told on the phone there was 'too much traffic', this is at 10 to 6pm! It is now 25 to 8...food finally gets here& ive paid cash...the hash browns i ordered did not turn up...i finish my food around 15 minutes ago...and i rang the restaurant to tell them my hash browns didnt turn up; i am currently still waiting for the hash browns but when i just phoned up i was told the traffic is bad once again. I was spoken to so rudely down phone. I am disgusted as a paying customer to be treated like this. I understand it being a friday night...but if youve ordered food and paid already and something off the order has been forgotton surely you are 1st priority to send that item out to the paying customer. I rated this place one star. But wish i could rate it zero!! Disgusting.
