Swan Garden Bar & Restaurant in Swansea

Ordered delivery. Arrived an hour late and it was impossible to get anyone to answer the phone, but the food itself was lovely, lots of vegan options to try and overall very happy with the portions, taste and quality. The delivery driver was very pleasant too.

Great vegan selection. Food was hot when it arrived, excellent quality and unexpectedly large portions. Will definitely be ordering from here again.

Rude and ignorant delivery driver. Went to wrong place first eventually got to us . Stood outside the gate pretending he couldn’t open it ! It involved lifting a latch ! I had to put a coat on and go out in the pouring rain in my pyjamas . He then told me it was not his job to open the gate and deliver to the door !!!! Won’t be ordering again if that is what their delivery staff are like !! A shame as the food was good !

Ordered vegetable curry and it was delivered fast and it was the best tasting curry in Gorseinon

Awful delivery times. We had this issue when we ordered from them before. We thought we’d give them the benefit of the doubt and order again but once again poor delivery. We have tried ringing the restaurant on both occasions but no one answers until maybe the 10th call. When they do answer it sounds like someone practiced in making excuses. If we lived far away from the restaurant I’d maybe understand, but seeing as we live in the same village it’s very frustrating. The food spoils and then it’s not worth our money. Getting a refund seems difficult. The Swan Garden needs to think about an order and collect service or actually getting the delivery at a decent time. I suggest they read the reviews that say the same as us. We won’t be ordering from them again.

Wrong rice delivered 40 mins late

The worst experience I’ve ever had! We ordered just after half 7. The food arrived at 10pm! We rang 3 times to request update as it was expected to arrive around 35 minutes. They informed me ‘ the food is out for delivery and should be with you in 15 minutes’. I am a type 1 diabetic, so with the reassurance it would arrive I took insulin. After a further half an hour it still hadn’t arrived. We had to ring back, fortunately I keep glucose tablets to take to prevent diabetic coma’s and raise blood sugar levels! After the third phone call, 15 minutes later The food arrived cold. I checked the chicken wings and it was raw in places ( it was not just pink colouration I know that can happen, this was absolutely raw and had not reached temperature when cooking). We complained to Uber and they refunded just the raw items. But the responce the restaurant gave was appalling and they could not have cared less at any point!

I think this is my first google review so that is how bad it was! The biggest thing that has made me write this review is that it really did make me ill. Otherwise I would have just said it was a bad Chinese and don’t bother! But I know it was this food because the only thing I ate was 10 hours earlier. Within 30 minutes I was ill. My stomach is still churning after being up all night. I wish I had checked the reviews. You should probably close and change jobs now before you make more people sick.

ordered from here multiple times and ive always loved it! delivery takes awhile but im quite far away so it makes sense, food has always been good and tasty!

I have no idea what these other people are talking about. The service was quick, not longer than I would usually expect for Chinese takeaway, which usually takes longer to prepare. The quality was excellent, the crispy beef and duck were to die for and the chow mein is the best I've ever had. Brilliant job, it's a shame they've been bombed so harshly.

Ive lived in cardiff all my life and im new to swansea Honestly i have to say this is the best value ive ever had. The food is so filling and the portions are generous In cardiff a lot of restaraunts bulk their stuff with beansprouts to rip people off but this is just pure genuine quality food and its what ive always wanted Thank you

Excellent service today from Swan Garden! I made a telephone order at 4pm to be delivered to another family at 5.30pm. It arrived at the agreed time and the whole family thoroughly enjoyed their meal. Thank you Swan Garden!

Absolutely disgusted but the service we were provided tonight!!! Pre ordered food at 5pm delivery due 6.30- 6.55 we had it at 8.10pm!!! After number of calls!! Not even answering my calls!! My wife then phoned answered straight away then hung up on her!! Call yourself a business!!! Absolutely disgusting attitude!! We will never use you again!!! We ordered food for my daughter too & it was so late she had gone to bed!!

Our Just eat order was marked delivered. This order was not delivered. Swan Garden have delivered to us previously and we even shared our location with the driver. We have asked for a refund and staff are too busy to discuss and process this. Absolutely shocking service. We have paid for food that we have not received.

Late, cold no flavour really dont waste your money order took two hours to deliver and the noodles were well overcooked and no flavour added at all think a six yr old chef could do better

Not the first but definitely the last time we ordered from here. They got the order wrong and then were rude when phoning back. Food was cold and chips were half raw. It came to £21.45 although according to the menu it should have been £14.60. Never again.

Absolutely disgusting, Food smelt and tasted awful! Rice tasted like it was weeks old only had 2 mouthfuls and threw the rest worst Chinese I’ve ever had. Chicken looked old and tasted off, curry somasas were greasy do not order from here.

I can honestly say this is the worst ever takeaway I have ever had the chips looked like they were a week old ,Chicken curry was like spicy dish water with chicken ,sweet and sour chicken balls weren’t even cooked the batter was still soggy and we didn’t even eat the chow Maine or rice I’m so disappointed ..but now looking at other reviews obviously this place is awful .. I only ordered as it was on Swansea eats and assumed all take away food on here would be nice …will never be ordering from here again what a waste of money

Would never eat from here again not even if it was free had salt and chilli chips they was not cooked properly, egg fried rice and curry sauce don’t know what it tasted of but it wasn’t that 🤮 and had salt and chilli chicken which was that over done my tooth snapped in half and Singapore vermicelli rice noodles that had no flavour what so ever (iv tasted better super noodles) honestly wouldn’t waste your money £30 on food to just be thrown in the bin absolutely disgusting 🤢 oh and delivery took forever too! Not worth a ⭐️

Always get my Chinese from this takeaway, food is always really good, and arrives hot and ready to eat. Usual delivery time is about 1 hour, but we now factor that in everytime we order.

i have tried twice now to order £60+ worth of food from here through just eat, the first time my order was cancelled as there was no drivers, fair enough i can understand that, tonight the second time of trying, it gets cancelled again because the driver couldn't find my address! the website clearly states you deliver to SA10 but apparently not from my experience, so i am sorry i will not be attempting to order from you again, which i am disappointed about as the food did seem a really good choice, and i was looking forward to trying it

Totally unacceptable at 19:43 I ordered my food & it gets delivered at 21.50 freezing cold chips are completely solid along with rest meal, Unable to eat the food , you think this is an acceptable service ? , time of delivery changed 3 times , & I called the restaurant 3 times to be dismissed & manager says sorry can't hear you & hangs up most frustrating experience would avoid at all costs !

Absolutely awful service. Ordered on just eat and was charged £4.95 delivery fee which is already steep to then be called 5 minutes later requesting we pay a further £3 odd on top. Noone on this planet pays over £8 for a delivery. Extremely rude and money grabbing. Will definitely not be recommending this Chinese to anyone. After reading some of the other reviews I can see how poor this Chinese is. I suggest you set your radius correctly in future.

Food was over half an hour an late, rang the restaurant, no apology at all. All food was cold and chewy. Stick to swans oriental, spent over £30 here and wasn't better in anyway, and also late and cold.

Ordered food which took three hours to show up and when it did it was cold, the chips were soggy and prawn toast was barely cooked. I'd avoid this place if I were you.

After my last order I reviewed the BBQ Pork ribs and said there wasn't any meat on the bones. Last night we made the same order and the BBQ spare ribs were very meaty. THANKYOU The meal was there ready when I arrived last night to pick it up. It had been kept in a good thermal box in reception. They then reviewed my order with me to ensure it was correct. The price for 3 people was very reasonable at about £7 per person. (And we got a pack of prawn crackers too (as a little gift). Well done

Customer service is disgusting! The way the guy just spoke to me on the phone is shocking ! He wanted nearly £6! For 1 Pompa Dom and a small bag of chips, will never ring this place again!

Ordered through Just eat twice and it's been perfect both times. Easy to order, huge menu and a big variety of vegetarian dishes too which is quite often difficult to find when eating out. Delivery drivers really pleasant and friendly and the food is stunning. Bursting with flavour. Can really recommend the Salt and Chilli tofu, egg fried rice and the house special fried rice. One of the best takeaway's I've had in Swansea!

Food was over an hour late. Missing items from my order, including the curry. Replacement curry was not what I ordered. I spent almost £50 on this order and have spent almost £600 total at this replacement. All the food went in the bin. I couldn't get through to them on the day so called the next day to explain and the manager swore at me, told me to F off and to order from somewhere else in the future. Absolutely disgusting service. Never been treated this way before. Just Eat offered just £20 in compensation. If I was you I'd avoid this restaurant!

Ordered a Chicken Prawn and Pork pancake wrap. The pancakes were the ones you put the duck in, so wafer thin and the filling was a sludge of sauce with chopped up who knows what in it, but it didn't look like chicken, prawn or pork. When you put it on the pancake it seeped through making it impossible to wrap. I phoned them thinking they'd got the order wrong, but nope, that is their idea of how a wrap should be. Won't going be going back.

I've used Swan garden for a long time ( 33 orders to them) despite them constantly being late (I've grown to expect it) but tonight has finished me off as a customer. The food is over an hour late and still not here expected within the next fifteen minutes but I doubt it. I called the take away numerous times no answer. Not that they are all that polite other times I have called them. The only reason I got an update today was by going through the just eat ap and getting them to request an update, seeing as they refused to answer their phone. I'm beyond tired of there poor service and lack of updates.

Awful food, an hour late and when food did arrive it was to a very low standard. Never write reviews like this however I felt the need too as times are tough and money is tight. Do not waste your money. Rang the restaurant to check if my order was on its way as I ordered through just eat and the app had told me 7:20, even delayed to 7:40 then 7:50 then stopped the delays, it got to 8 and I rang the restaurant, quite rude in my opinion. Terrible ruined our New Years Eve- I ordered at 7 to arrive by 8:30 never came!! Kept getting delays to order when they said at 10:40 they had delivered- but no food ever arrived. They are totally untrustworthy and I would never use again!! Disgusting and appalling that they lie. I did get told by Just Eat that they stated the food was delivered however they have now refunded as that was an absolute lie. I said they should be removed by just eat as not reputable but they said to leave a review which I already had!!! But I wanted to leave more to warn others- Don’t use this restaurant.

Ordered through just eat at 6.30pm, food to arrive 8.30pm, kept getting txts to say it would be delayed. Eventually had msg to say it would be delivered at 10.15pm but it never arrived ! Tried ringing but phone taken off the hook! They are now saying they delivered the food and refusing a refund! I’ve payed £50 for food I never received! Stay away!!!

After placing a order at 6pm was told to wait 2 hours for delivery I was cool with that then was told after waiting another 1 hour on top that the order was delivered that was not the case , tried ringing the restaurant but the phone was of the hook. I recommend that no one ever books online for a meal ever I want my refund also !!

Well after ordering at 5.30pm and it is now 9.37pm and still no delivery, although they told us it would be 7.10pm its absolutely disgusting!!! If it turns us they van take it back. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE!!! Unfortunately I cant give them a zero score or below!!

Ordered through just eat the restaurant rang to say we needed to pay extra delivery when I asked why the person said I was too far away and then said I couldn't have the order and hung up the phone on me , I then rang back was greeted by rudeness and told I couldn't have my order avoid at all costs !!!!

Arrived over an hour late, no apology. The food was dry, tasteless and had to be microwaved. We think the chips had already been reheated as they were so dry. There were no bean sprouts or vegetables in my dry chow mien and I had to search for the chicken that should have been there. It was rated 5 stars on just eat, how? I will never order again. I haven’t received my food yet it’s almost an hour late, when my husband phoned, the man who answered was extremely rude! No apologies or explanation ! Extremely annoyed! Have a good mind to cancel my order and take my business else where!!

Never left a review before but felt the need to as the way I was spoken to was shocking. I ordered on just eat and the address defaulted to another address I had ordered from previously. I quickly rung up to change the address and was told I need to “do it myself we can’t keep changes the address for people all the time” . Pretty simple thing to do and there was not an option on the app. Will never order from here again lost another customer because of ur awful attitude :)

Absolute joke of a place. Say they try to ring you on the contact number provided but they jumble a bunch of numbers together from your order number then cancel your order because they can't get through. Then when you ring them nearly an hour later to find out what's happened they tell you that you have to pay the driver extra for delivery on top of the £5.95 delivery charge included.. Get of Just Eat if its too far and if you're ringing an order number instead of an actual contact number then of course its going to tell you the number is not recognised🤦‍♀️

Cancelled the order a minute before it was supposed to be delivered? What's that about? Instead of leaving us wait an hour and a half just don't confirm the order.

My first bad experience with this restaurant.. i ordered through just eat.. food arrived 45 mins late and I paid cash. I've since had a notification that my order was cancelled and I've been refunded... totally don't understand how or why! Am I being refunded and if so how?

Had a take away tonight from this restaurant and I ordered chicken and mushroom curry and no onions when it was delivered it tasted like Oxo cube and a load of onions wouldn't recommend this restaurant they should listen too the customer from their order

The food was awful ; cold , dry , tasteless. The presentation was disgusting and nobody actually ate anything. It came late and was cold in the box ! Absolutely rubbish ordered off just eat expected something better then that what I had very little portion of crispy duck and the curry samosa I had was chewy after having one of them I realised it was meant for the bin and everything was stone cold and it came early which made me think it would have been decent but instead all I had was false hope and rubbish food for £15.35 not worth it.

Just had take away it was horrid. Crisby beef seemed like re heated seconds. Chicken was tough and again seemed like seconds rather than freshly cooked just horrible. Waste of money going in the bin. Definitely will not be ordering again.

Ordered from this place last night as it was the only one open local to me in lockdown, food arrived in time but was absolutely awful, spicy crispy beef was like chewing a welly boot and no flavour, duck was burnt, honey ribs had no taste dont think I need to go on, if your looking for a really good Chinese do go here, avoid it at all cost as I'm £50 down

Order was over 3 hours late and the restaurant wouldn't answer the phone. Delivery driver was unapologetic and when I brought it up he said "I'll take it away if you don't want it." Went through JustEat to try and get a refund and the restaurant refuses to entertain the complain. Avoid avoid avoid. Several people I know have had similar experiences recently.

Wish I could put 0 stars due to food being ordered at 19:30 and got told the food will be delivered at 21:20, ok it’s a trying time I understand but at 21:45 tried phoning the restaurant and no sign of food. It’s now 23:20, two hours after delivery was supposed to come, showed on system it was delivered but no sign of food, waste of £30, claiming it back. Absolutely fuming! DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE!!!

Ordered at 18.20, delivery time of 20.10, then 21.00, it actually arrived at 22.00, Chinese is my favourite take away, I've been eating them for about 40 years, and can honestly say this the worst one I've ever had, absolutely awful, hard noodles in the chow mein, tasteless curry, old, reheated chips, flavourless sweet and sour sauce, spare ribs that apart from the fatty remnants of meat, were small and tasteless, wasted £44, would rather go hungry than spend another quid here. Cannot warn anyone off this place enough, terrible food.

We ordered food at 7:30. We tried ringing over 20 times after 9pm with no answer. We went online to see that they were now closed. We went to ordered food elsewhere as we were still needing food and this arrived. We then had a knock at 10:45pm with the order! We refused the order as this was over 3hours later than we ordered and have had no refund!!! Absolutely horrendous customer service! Avoid.

I wouldn't even give this 1 star. 3 hours late refused the order after 2.5 hours as my children were starving. They took the phone off the hook, tried to ring them 14 times. They turned up and I refused it as I put my own food on. Just eat no help either, offered 50% refund.

Absolutely the worst take away I have ever had not even just Chinese but all cuisines, all veg was wilted and discoloured, every item was cold, plus waited 2 hours for a delivery, I just feel sorry for the poor guy wasting his petrol to deliver this rubbish.

Wouldn't give any stars if given the choice. Food was disgusting, shredded beef was burned, had ordered two of those, chips were limp, cold and horrible. Chicken satay tasted like curry even rice tasted unpleasant, avoid this place at all costs. How anyone can give a good review is something I don't understand unless they had a few beers beforhand.

Literally one of the worst food deliveries me and my family have ever had. Thrown in the bin with £30 down the drain. The delivery was late and the order was nothing like described. would definitely not order from this company again and would recommend you don't either.

Advertised as deliverable in my postcode, but asked for an additional £3.00 on top of the £3.95 I had already paid for delivery. Also had a minimum order of £20 which I adhered to. Disappointed.

Dunno what slop these other reviews are eating??? But each to their own I guess. Hot/sour & chicken/sweetcorn soup was NOTHING like I’ve ever had from any other Chinese, just water with some meat, bits of sweetcorn, loads of onions and whatever else!!!! Special curry, you could by the powder add some meat, peas and again some onions and hey presto, a special curry!!!! Crispy beef.......ughhhhhhhhhhhh Boiled rice.......ok But they did deliver on time!!! My advice, go to another.
