Good menu, delicious food, friendly and attentive staff and a cosy atmosphere. What more could you ask for.

Had a lovely meal today at The Swan, Kass the GM attended to us and was super friendly and helpful. We ordered food from the main menu aswell as Sundays roasts, the food was lovely and hot and came out without too much of a lengthy weight. Puddings were exceptional and atmosphere was cosy. Would recommend and will def return. Thanks to Kass and the team ☺️

Greeted by a lovely lady who took us to the table in the bar id booked. Food was delicious and well worth the money! And there was best selection of Gin I’ve ever seen

Busiest we have seen on our visits but it's good for time of year to have seasonal atmosphere with people enjoying meals. We went for the lighter lunch menu and food was well cooked and very tasty, my husband had a lovely BLT sandwich and said a turkey, cranberry and stuffing sandwich would be a good choice to put on as a seasonal one. All four of us thought that the apple and cherry crumble really good 👍

Went with a group of 10 service was very good all our food was served in good time, hot and very tasty. The atmosphere was good. The staff where very pleasant and helpful. The fixed price lunchtime menu had a good selection and was reasonably priced. There is a good size carpark and a children's play area outside. The only downside was the options for vegetarian diners.

Me and my family dined here today, the atmosphere, cleanliness, and food was amazing. Our waiter Aimee was especially great, she was very welcoming and was quick to take down our order. Would 100% come here again.

The pub itself is lovely and staff are polite and attentive. I ordered the lamb duo which was £26 and unfortunately is not worth the money. Chewy lamb and bland pie. The roast dinners looked good and I would return but order differently. Averaged £25 a head for a main and 1 drink.

Well impress with the service and the food, I definitely recommend to people.

On a table for 10 for a family get-together. We had a lovely visit. The food was really good and the service was excellent. We were very well looked after by Wendy and Lauren.

Had a really good Sunday lunch. Good value and good portion, even for the younger members of the family. Will be visiting again in the future.

We had a lovely meal for a Birthday Celebration! The staff put out our birthday decs for when we arrived and the table looked lovely. Food was great, the staff were very friendly and welcoming, service was great! Will definitely return thank you for a lovely night!

We chose the Swan for a Birthday meal for our daughter. We were a party of 5 with a baby and the staff couldn't have made us feel more welcome! We all had mains and desserts and the food was excellent. The staff were very attentive, checking that we had everything we needed. We had a lovely evening and will definitely be returning soon.

Having booked a dog friendly meal on Saturday because we cant leave the dog at home she pines we wondered how we would fair well worry not the whole of the visit went extremely well a member of staff showed us to our allotted table another member of staff brought a bowl of water for the dog we chose our meal which was soon ready and delivered to out table we were so impressed with how the meals were laid out and the flavour was delightful we cant praise the Swan highly enough and would recommend the Swan to all who want a pleasant evening out with delightful food and very friendly staff we will definately be returning in the near future 10/10 for sure

Fantastic Saturday evening out. It was busy but that didn't seem to bother the staff that working, the 3 of them (Lewis, Aimee and emily) worked great always happy to help and informative. The food was great. Overall a pleasant experience.

Their burger game is weak, I had the signature burger and it was disappointing, especially for their price. You could get yourself a better burger at a mcdonalds for less than half the price, and thats saying something. Other dishes looked a lot more substantial for their price points.

Excellent and friendly service, and excellent food. The atmosphere was relaxed despite being quite busy. I would certainly recommend it to friends and family and we are looking forward to our next visit.

Service was first rate and the food was excellent. Everything was hot, well presented and good quality.

Staff were really welcoming, attentive and friendly. Gave my daughter and niece some colouring pencils and extra children's menu so that they could draw. Food was beautiful really big portions. Everything was fresh and bonus 30% off mains. Will be my new go to restaurant!

We have eaten at the Swan on a number of occasions now and have always found the service excellent. The staff are always very friendly and attentive and the food is excellent! On this visit, being New Years Eve, it was a great seasonal atmosphere. Our waitress was lovely and although it was busy she looked after us very well.

It was a New Year Eve set meal that you had to preorder a couple of weeks prior. The vegetarian tart starter was unavailable. We also ordered 2 sides that they forgot to bring out. However the food that we did have was very nice and good quality I could only see three members of staff on front of house. Staff were welcoming, friendly and polite. Just rushed off their feet.

The food was well presented and hot. It was of a high standard and good quality. The staff were very friendly. Atmosphere was welcoming and the music at just the correct level..not too loud. A good selection of vegetarian meals. Booked up for next Christmas day! Looking forward to going again.

The service was great, we were taken straight to our table. The atmosphere was calm and not too busy which is great for the time of year! Our server couldn't have done more, we always had drinks. Food had a home cooked vibe and did not disappoint! Delicious

A very disappointing breakfast with Santa. Luckily my children are 3 and 2 years old so for them they just got to have breakfast with mommy and daddy and a present from “Santa” The elf was pleasant, and the staff in general were nice. The music was playing through someone’s phone and when the phone rang we all heard it. The music then didn’t get put back on for ages and when it did it kept coming off like someone was on their phone. The atmosphere felt awkward, considering we were asked to change our booking date to the following week, because you were “busy” it was empty. I can only assume that no one had booked and you moved all dates in to one, who knows. Without the music it was just so quiet and awkward. Santa was awful. Scruffy trainers on, black beard showing through. The brummiest Santa I’ve heard, no attempt at acting like Santa whatsoever. The breakfast, was shocking! The eggs had seen better days, rock hard like they’d been sat under the pass for hours which is surprising when no one is there you’d think it would be cooked from scratch. I asked for a cappuccino and got a cup full of foam. The beans were cold, the toast was warm/stale bread. And in fact the breakfast options in general was poor. £46 bill and I don’t know what on earth for?! Will not be returning nor recommending

We only eat out where our dog can accompany us so it's great that The Swan welcomes dogs. We were greeted by a very friendly member of staff on arrival, the service and the food were excellent.

Family meal out for Xmas, all very nice. The food could be served hotter, both main and dessert only warm - for the price it should be spot on.

Lovely atmosphere and food was really good. Staff friendly and decorated beautifully for Xmas.

Staff very friendly, nice atmosphere, comfortable pub. Lots to choose from on the menu. Food portions on the small side, needed a desert to fill the gap. Overall a nice evening.

There were 8 of us including 2 young children. Booking was simple and easy. When we arrived the staff were friendly and welcoming. We all had 3 courses, all of the food was fantastic. There was a lot of stuff unavailable but we were made aware of this prior to ordering and there were no issues. The waiting staff were attentive and prompt. I have visited 3-4 times before but the rest of the party had never been, they all said how lovely the meal was. We had a 30% off mains voucher which came through when I booked, which was great! Why Serve on Childrens size Plates, Just been for a meal which was ok but for what reason do they serve on very small plates. My wife and i discussed and said to make it looked more than they have actually given. But guess what the meals also are very small, not enough for a normal adult. Come Marstons get your act together. Also wanted a bottle of Pinot Grigio thet did not have a full bottle, so the wife had to make do with a large £6.25 glass not good for guests tonight or for the weekend.

Great food and atmosphere. First visit and it won't be our last. Staff very helpful and courteous. Good parking facilities. Would definitely recommend. Lovely terraced area to spend time in.

We often meet at the Swan for a family meal. We always receive a warm welcome especially from Leigh. Food and service always good. Would definitely recommend a visit!

Good food and service. 8 of us attended for food and drinks. All food came out at the same time and was very good

Ordered Signature burger which stated was served with fries and slaw. Was served the dish with no slaw. When I asked the waiting staff I was informed they had run out . Very poor service to have to ask why a component of your dish is not there, and then to be told it's not available after ordering and receiving your dish. A real shame as the food was very good.

We had a lovely evening here on Friday. I had my 1 year old daughter with me and she was looked after just as much as us 3 adults! The food was beautiful, service was fantastic and the staff were lovely and helpful, especially Kass who could not do enough for us! Thank you for a lovely evening! Great service with delicious food

Inattentive staff. Vegetable curry was watery and lacked flavour (gammon, burger and mac & cheese were all highly rated though :-) ) Slow service for ordering even though it was a quiet eve. It said on the menu to “ask about specials” we did, and were told there weren’t any!

Really rude staff and made to feel very uncomfortable. We were group of 7 celebrating a birthday celebration, I chose the sirloin steak but when it arrived, it was grisly and inedible. When I made a comment to the staff member, her attitude stank, and said that she could replace but it'll probaly be the same. If your paying £20.00 for a steak you expect quality not to be told it will not be, why aren't you buying quality meat to serve to customers. I was not going to bother to have another meal, but the member of staff said she would be on house, she never did!!! She knocked a little off the choice. Also other meals were missing, dips and the extras that stated on menu, if you can't supply on menu, notify customer or not have on member. The attitude of staff was it is what it is, whether you like it or not. This restaurant has always been top quality but after this visit was absolutely disgusted.

Only 4 star as we didn't eat here so can't comment on the food...... will definitely be back for food though. Staff really friendly. Lovely pub with a great out door play area for children.

The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, food was very tasty and good value, only 1 tiny thing is the table we sat at was wobbly, maybe put something under one of the legs so it was stable and not moving, apart from that everything was great

Booked a table for 8pm Friday had text confirmation then without my knowledge it was cancelled 8 minutes later! Email sent but no phone call or text! Only found out by chance as we were about to leave to go there! Called them to check if the cancellation was error, it wasn’t! No apology and poor communication. Very disappointing.

Absolutely excellent food, excellent friendly service by all and they also sold my favourite gin into the mix, we can't recommend highly enough.

So this is 1st time I've been here since takeover. Went with friends visiting from Scotland. My friend has a serious milk allergy. She worked around menu, only ordering chips and onion rings. We only ordered main courses, so had bit of a wait, after about 15 minutes we were advised that kitchen couldn't guarantee any cross contamination in the fryer from milk chicken nuggets. Friend reordered vegan salad, salad arrived shortly after with everyone's mains. My friend had gone to ladies. We looked at her salad which looked like crumbled feta cheese on top! We asked server, she said was vegan, friend got back to table, server said would check with kitchen. Came back apologised took salad away. Salad arrived few minutes later with vegan cheese on it! We didn't complain, but now I think about it, my friend could have been quite poorly if we hadn't have realised the mistake. Please server's and kitchen staff need to get on top off this, it shouldn't have happened!!

Really quality food, all made on site which is rare. Recommend the pies.

Always enjoyable with friendly staff and a relaxing atmosphere.

Just a pleasant Sunday lunch out with my husband. No cooking, no washing up. Thouroughly enjoyed it. Food was good quality and well cooked and well presented. Roast potatoes could have been a bit crispier and fluffier. They were hard to cut. Staff were great. Simon who showed us to our table and Lea who was very efficient and friendly. Will definitely go again.

Went for a Sunday lunch and couldn’t have more good things to say. From start to finish the experience was 10/10. The staff made you feel welcome as soon as you walked through the door. And always made sure we had everything we needed. The atmosphere was great. No one was a stranger and treat like you were their best friend. The food was amazing. And the menu has a good range to chose from. Can’t wait to be back in the area to come again.

I’ve never had a bad or disappointing visit to the swan. I love the atmosphere and the sound of dogs is great. Sometimes we bring our dog.

Cannot knock the staff as they were superb, however, I got the impression they were stretched and overworked. In between serving customers they were tirelessly tidying and wiping down tables and other surfaces. What let it down was the cleanliness of cutlery and the container it was served in and what appeared to be ink on the plate which I only noticed after eating most of the meal and left me feeling pretty disgusted. As for the quality of food (cleanliness aside) it was well presented but wasn't anything special. We went for the battered fish and it was pretty tasteless and mainly batter.

Have to ask first why is every table reserved and yet no customers turn up, it’s like sectioning off tables because staff are lazy and don’t want to serve people, I observed customers walking in to an empty pub with reserved tables and walking out Staff sitting around one table like it’s an office in the middle of the bar area. It’s the only large bar table yet there will be one chef sitting there or the managers laptop like it’s his office Miserable staff with a huge lack of knowledge Very disappointed with this pub

ORIGINAL POST: Used to visit this pub pretty much every week, however, last time we visited here we got verbal abuse from another customer as we were innocently walking to our table. This happened infront of two of the staff members (both women) they both turned a blind eye and actually continued to laugh and joke with this customer, when really this customer should have been asked to leave! Will not be returning to any establishment who condones such behaviour and would rather support other local pubs where you actually feel safe.
