The worst takeaway EVER!! Please dont waste your money. I had Special fried rice. The beef was so tough and tasteless , not even my dogs would eat it. It was watery and full of chunks of onion with little chicken and nothing else. There was certainly nothing 'special ' about it .

First order from this Chinese,as been let down by a few in tamworth,& we wasn't disappointed food was hot & on time lots of flavour & good size portions & free bag of crackers bonus.will use again thank you.

So looking forward to a takeaway that I collected and realised that half my order was missing and the food that I had was very disappointing

Food was delivered late and arrived stine cold, restaurant did not want to know & we had to go to our local to get fresh!

We have been ordering our Chinese takeaway from Swallow for the past 8 years. Angel is really friendly both over the phone and in person when I have collected our order from the shop. Delivery is usually quoted 45 mins but always arrives sooner. Food arrives piping hot and is always delicious. We are a family of 5 and we always enjoy our meal. Even our youngest loves Swallow especially if Angel gives her a fortune cookie 😉

Was told it was going to take 45 mins to an hour over took 2 hours! We called after an hour and a half to be told "it's on the way" by the time it had came we lost our appetite. OVER an hour late is not acceptable! Never ordering from here again. I will say the delivery driver was lovely but the company is very unreliable.

Our normal takeaway has not reopened, and so began the search trawling through TripAdvisor and Google reviews to find somewhere to the same standards. We looked in Lichfield too in case anything stood out, but many mixed reviews, so we plumped for The Swallow. Absolutely the right decision. Really good food, as good as we have had anywhere, everybody happy which is an achievement in itself as my lot are very fussy, very happy to use again.

The food from this little takeaway was delicious! Everything arrived hot, fresh and I loved the fact that my lemon chicken was given with the sauce in a separate pot to help keep the batter crispy! The portions were of a good size (I dont like huge portions of food as its wasteful) The lady on the phone was polite, friendly and very accommodating. It took 45mins for my delivery to get to me but thats not unusual for a busy takeaway. Highly recommended.

The food was delivered fairly quickly which can be a normal sign of poor cold food but not this time. This is Possibly one of the best Chinese we have had.

Really good curry from here. Food was really tasty and good quality. Delivery was good, the driver was friendly and it came hot. Didn’t have to wait long either. Would definitely recommend 👍🏻

This is the best Chinese takeaway in Tamworth. I’ve tried many others but always go back to here. Food always arrives within the delivery time advised and is always piping hot and fresh. Outstanding

No problem ordering and although quoted an hour for delivery, the meal was delivered within 40 minutes. Food was delivered hot and tasty.

Poor food No egg in the egg fried rice No chillies on the salt and chilly chips No flavour or chilly on the salt and chilly ribs Frozen peas, no meat and water chicken curry I will continue to use Eat Well from kettle brook once it re opens at the end of the month

Woman on the phone is always very polite and friendly, she's really nice. Food is good and at good value delivered in a quick manner. Just wish it was thick chow mien noodles but all in all a great Chinese.

Had the beef and chicken rendang. Unfortunately it was not this dish. It was some kind of poor mimic. They need to stop advertising it as this.

Swallow is not our usual takeaway but as that was closed I looked to see what was rated on TripAdvisor. We found the menu online and it looked quite good so we placed our order via the phone. Order placed, we were told to expect it in 40-45 minutes. 45 minutes later and no food so we called back and were told that they say 45 minutes -1 hour as a rough time but it could take longer and they were really busy. Except they didn't tell us that time. They said the delivery person was just about to leave with the order. Eventually this turned up 1 1/2 hours after we made the first call to order. If we hadn't been so hungry we would probably have sent it back. As it was I was eating just before I was due to go to bed which I wasn't happy about. We weren't offered any discount or extra for our delay either.On the food itself it wasn't bad but not as good as Eat Well which we usually use. Certainly after the experience we had I would be surprised if we were placing another order here any time soon.

I and many of my friends and family have ordered from here, This is by far the best chinese takeaway in town and you can tell the food is freshly prepared and always charge at reasonable price.

We've had several takeaways from here and have never been disappointed. Great food with a good selection on the menu at a decent price, especially to have it delivered to home.

Acabamos de terminar nuestra comida de swallow. Era carne de rendang estilo cantonés y dulce y amarga de pollo. Esta fue la mejor comida china nos comido ya que a la vuelta de China de hace 4 años. Pedimos a las 5 de la tarde y me dijeron que no iba a estar con nosotros en 35 minutos y fue entregado en ese tiempo. La señora que nos atendió en el teléfono era una delicia. Yo siempre pedir mi chino de esta compañía en el futuro.

Great food and delivered fast and very helpful person on the phone the order came hot and was all there so a lot better then the others and a great hygiene rating

ordered yuck sung spring rolls beef curry sweet and sour the beef was tough could not chew it i had to throw it in the bin sweet and sour was like sugar will not be ordering from hear again

Ordered at 9 on a saturday and food arrived in half an hour and was piping hot and really nice will definitely be using again.Highly recommended

Me and my husband ordered a takeaway, they mentioned it would be about 40 minutes before our food got to us which we didn't mind. We got our food well before the 40 minutes and it was piping hot when it arrived. Lovely fresh ingredients and very good portion sizes and customer service when it arrived at the door. Would highly recommend this Chinese.

This is the only Chinese takeaway for me. Tried others in the area but none compare to swallow. Recommend it to everyone.

We have recently moved into the area and have struggled to find a good Chinese, a local friend suggested this one and my god, what a find. Very friendly staff, super quick service and the food is out of this world. I always try something different, but my partner sticks to what she knows. The flavours are so well balanced and very full. Nothing is over powering and is cooked to perfection. I would thoroughly recommend giving these a call if you don't fancy cooking. 10 out of 10

Sadly,I live outside delivery area or I would have their food twice a week..maybe more! I was visiting Tamworth and was looking forward to a Chinese from a place I ate from a couple of years ago. Luckily I checked the health rating and found the other place was inspected 2 weeks ago and received a zero...no way I was going there again. Swallow had a 4 rating so went there and so very glad I did.The young lady taking orders was very pleasant and welcoming. I noticed when I entered that the full kitchen could be seen from the counter and looked very clean and well maintained.Obviously they had nothing to hide. Both the chefs came forward to greet me with a big friendly smile and welcome.I ordered 2 giant spring rolls. Usually this many bean sprouts would put me off,but combined with the meats other ingredients,they were so tasty and unlike any other I have had.Egg foo yung with kind prawn...amazing. The portion looked to be a good dozen eggs. It was massive and not stingy with the prawns either. So good to eat!Chicken with cashews was first class with tons of big chunky and very fresh tasting chicken. Sauce was just enough to enrich the chicken without covering up the flavour.Kung po beef...usually I stay away from this dish as the beef always seems chewy from other places. Not here....big thick slices of tender and very well seasoned beef. Sauce heat just right and vegetables nice and crunchy.Th owner/chef kept coming out and updating me on how long my order would take..the spring rolls took some time to cook due to size and the owner advised she wanted them to be perfect and crispy for me. The prawn crackers were the best I have had too.The best word to describe the food here is clean. Everything tasted fresh and different and perfectly seasoned. So many places seem to give several dishes out that all taste the same.The friendliness of all the staff shows me these folks care about the customer and the way it all tasted shows they obviously have some pride in their restaurant. And due to the large portions, I have some left for breakfast even after having several plates of goodies throughout last evening!! Great value.HUGE PLUS..Did not have the long lasting unstoppable thirst that I usually experience after cChinese food and noticed that MSG was not heavily used. That explains why the dishes all tasted like they should.Couldn't recommend the Swallow any higher. Just need to move them closer to home!
