This was a very accommodating pub, turned up at 10:30 and they were more than happy to serve us a pint with a smile. In addition, they informed us about after hours joints in the area. Will be back!

Really cool flip board showing beers and the time. The interior is all concord plane parts. The staff is really welcoming and helpful. I spend a few days grabbing a pint here before heading off to do activities.

I was staying near this bar so I used it. It's quite lively at night. The interior was airplane themed. I entered the store during the day when it was empty just for drinks. There were many types of beer and alcohol, but not many types of soft drinks. I was inside because the terrace seats were occupied, but the music was a little loud. The staff's response was good. Even if you are a single woman, there is no problem during the day. It's quite lively at night.

Lovely little pub on the way to Paddington Station, modern just had a quick pint so didn't try the food maybe next time. Average London prices. Would come back again.

We thought we'd try a local pub near our accommodation and found out they don't serve food. The aviation seats take up a lot of space and don't look that comfortable.

I did not order anything but went here with company that did. Super quick and attentive staff but too loud music.

🚇 Paddington 🍺 £5.40 Becks An Aviation Themed Pub. The Sussex Arms is situated in the backstreets of Paddington, set amongst the numerous hotels located in the area. The nearest Tube is Paddington, it’s a three minute stroll to get here. This pub was built in 1852 as the Sussex Hotel. The pub is owned and run by Stylotel which is located across the road on Sussex Gardens. This is a very unique pub, in that it is aviation themed. The main bar area is square-shaped with a small secluded room called The Business Lounge located at the rear. The walls are bare brick with large TVs to the left and right with one above the bar. Also around the walls are different parts of aircraft including an Airbus A320 fuselage and wing edge. The centre piece of this pub are the original @british_airways Concorde seats complete with Airbus A320 exit doors table. The lighting does make the bar area feel a bit clubby but this pub is full of quirky features. The beer selection was all keg and included some beers from Chicago based brewers @gooseisland . I decided on a pint of Becks, you don’t see it too often on tap these days. My pint was excellent, price point was great considering the area. There is no food menu available. I visited on a Friday afternoon for an afterwork pint. The atmosphere was relaxed with a couple of solo drinkers and a group of chaps from the USA. The service here was top drawer, the member of staff on duty was welcoming, friendly and was great to have a chat with. Visiting The Sussex Arms wasn’t your usual pub experience. The airplane parts and the mood lighting felt like I was in a club/bar on holiday. The beer choice was decent enough and the price point was great considering the tourists that visit the area. This pub is not one for the traditionalist but I would definitely recommend a visit for trying a different pub experience. ℹ️ Info correct on visiting 16.02.24

A really nice pub, great atmosphere. However, there is a jobsworth barmaid....she calls last orders, i.e. 1130pm...fine...we go to the bar at 11.29, a minute or two after she calls last orders....and she says 'you're too late'....we're like 'it's 1129' and she...wait for it....says, 'not by that clock', pointing to a clock on the wall in the bar. So, apparently, we must all set our clocks/watches and everything else by this stupid woman in the Sussex. Such a shame, but what a twot. Won't be going back. Other pubs are a lt more welcoming.

Music was great, beer and selection of cocktails was good but the decoration was a bit too 70s space/glam for me.

A well known pub that is generally busy on a Saturday, so you would think the manament would have the sense to put on more than one serving member of staff. Waited ages to get served to the point of almost walking out. Nice pub...awful service.

I've not been here for quite a few years. The place certainly has changed. I don't really like the new decor, but that's just me. It is very different. Staff were friendly, and we got very quick service. TVs if you want to watch a game.

This is a fun airplane, airport themed bar. I just stopped in for a quick pint. I can not comment on the food. I did not eat here due to time restraint on my part.

A modern-looking place, but the theme is old-time air travel. New and past times meet. Nice staff, wide selection of drinks both in Hanoi and in bottles. Not a pub but a bar.

Really cool place to have a drink and more! Nice decoration, nice music - not too loud to have a conversation. Stuff is also very good and shows hospitality, which is not common for a bar ! Worth the visit !

Brilliant Place for people who have a hotel booked in the paddington area very friendly and nice staff drinks are on top and my whole trip rounds that up to a 10/10

Was so not expecting that. Walked in to the pub called the Sussex Arms then wham! You are surrounded by loads of airplane memorabilia. There are airplane seats to sit at. Different parts of planes adorn the walls. Much to look at. Staff warm and friendly and the pub was warm as well. Enjoyed our stay for a few drinks and would definitely recommend.

Decent enough pub. Brilliant location for Paddington Station. £7 a pint is too much.

Solid atmosphere, well done with theme

Our preferred spot for a first drink in London upon arriving at Paddington! Oz, in particular, is consistently delightful to chat with, & always wearing a smile. They have cool edible candy straws for kids which are worth a mention snd their awesome cocktails. The interior exudes a cool Concorde-themed ambiance, adding a unique touch to the experience. The bar boasts an impressive selection of drinks, making it a perfect place to unwind. Highly recommend for a welcoming atmosphere and excellent service!

This was a highlight of our trip, great staff, music vibes, atmosphere in general was just spot on, try the festive drinks with edible straws and sit in a concorde seat with beautiful lighting and amazing stylish themed decorations and furniture!!

It was World Cup Semi-Finals and we were staying in Paddington, so took a walk around looking for a sports bar, that had a fine balance between style (for two, not such big sport watchers, ladies) and somewhere we could watch the game between the Springboks, and the Lions. We could not have found a better bar! The decor was stylish with a purple hue and lots of airplane paraphernalia done with the perfect amount of cool. The bar was clearly popular but never got overly packed. We didn't sit in them as they were already taken but the airline seats looked super comfy and a unique choice for seating. All in all an unexpected fun night, filled with great service, lots of banter, and ice-cold prosecco. And of course, it did end well for us when the Springboks, who we were rooting for, won much to the chagrin of the English fans!

Stopped by here while on a 7 hr layover at Heathrow and were pleasantly surprised when we walked in. The decor is awesome and they even have concord seats. Bartender Dave was awesome. Such a great sense of humor and wit. If you have never had Allssop lager give it a try its the oldest brewing company in England 🇬🇧 oh yeah the fish and crisps are next door if your looking

Good bit of fun early in the day. The Sussex Arms in Paddington, catering for the footy crowd on their way to various matches around the capital offers plenty of choice from the keg in a modern setting celebrating a bit of aviation history. Friendly people and great service, don't expect to be on your own for long. A great place for a beer.

Great little place to chill and imbibe. The bartender was excellent and Malbec lovely. Loved the BA Concorde airplane seats.

Popped in for a few beers I wanted to sit on the Concord Aircraft seats but they were taken, I like the airport feel this place has.

A great bar, not far from my accommodation in Sussex Gardens. Friendly, nice staff, and something very different. Adorning the interior, walls and ceiling are various parts of Concorde and Airbus planes. The seats in the middle are those from a Concorde, there's an emerging door with a clock on it, and the fuselage is even in there too. Additional to this there are Airport display boards, directing you to the toilets and bringing the quotes. Video screens also display historic footage of flight hostesses advertising various airlines (including the former Australian airline Ansett).

Best place for a hangout with your mates or socialising with a new bunch. Absolutely would recommend 💯

If you like aviation there are some nice pieces here like Concorde chairs and engine surrounds. Felt very pub like and when I visited not many people or atmosphere.

For airline fans - this is the pub to go in Paddington area of London. It’s approx 5 minute walk from St Marys Hospital of the Hilton Metropole. Their is an outside area out front (probably not operating in winter) and also one hidden through the ‘business lounge’ The main area has lots of airline references, including Concorde seats, and a ‘departure board’ with interesting quotes. The bar staff are really friendly and helpful. The one blessing is that the music (when played) is at a volume you can still chat to your mates at without shouting. A godsend!

Managed to find a table in the fresh air on this Wednesday afternoon ( around 18:00 ) Enjoying our drinks :- - A pint of Guinness - Virgin Mary ( a bottle if tomato juice) Also very tasty crisps Service is good

Man kann noch etwas drinnen gehen. Man trifft gegebenenfalls Menschen mit anderen Sprachen und auch Touristen. Gerade letztere haben die Emotionen des Personals etwas aufgebraucht - nicht unbedingt zu unrecht 😇 Aber: hat bis 22:30 offen und ist damit fast schon ein Highlight für die „späten“ Besucher:innen. Die Auswahl an Cocktails ist sehr bescheiden und auch nicht immer bestellbar. Die Auswahl verschiedener Whiskys beschränkt sich auf bekannte Brands. Die Inneneinrichtung spiegelt irgendwelche Innenräume von Flugzeugen wieder und ist nicht sehr gemütlich. Ich war jeden Abend da und habe neue Menschen kennen gelernt

Ein typischer Londoner Pub, gemütlich, freundliches Personal, tolle Gäste. Rundherum an den Wänden Fernseher damit man die Fußballspiele verfolgen kann. 2023 großartig was aus diesem Arms geworden ist. Neu und moderner. Vielleicht nicht jedermanns Sache aber mega interessant. Eine neue Inneneinrichtung und Dekoration und das absolut interessante ist— es sind Originalteile von einer Concorde!!! Ich habe es schon mündlich weiter empfohlen und meine Bekannten waren begeistert. Praktisch übrigens man kann an jedem Tisch sein Smartphone aufladen.

Unfortunately, this bar has one major thing wrong with it: the main member of staff, who is also the manager. It looks like no one ever instructed her on how to talk to customers properly or act professionally. As a result, she has a reputation for rudeness and being offensive. Given that there are thousands of bars to choose from in London, I would urge anyone to drink elsewhere. A bar is supposed to be somewhere to enjoy yourself – not somewhere to be spoken to like a piece of dirt.

Echt ganz schick. Die Inneneinrichtung ist mit einigen Dekohiglights aus einer Concorde eingerichtet. Die Preise und die Bedienung sind gut. Leider kann ich 4,5 Sterne nicht anklicken 😀
