Delicious food! Visiting Bath on holiday and wanted a break from pub food. This Indian restaurant was perfect. I had lamb biryani and it was fragrant and slightly spicy. The garlic naan was dripping with buttery deliciousness. I highly recommend.

The food taste was amazing! However, price-wise quantity of food is very less. A lamb curry was charged around 20 pounds but quantity-wise it was only enough for one person. They don’t serve it in the standard plastic takeway boxes that other restaurants do. It was served in a really small paper bowl. Definitely needs some improvement there.

I'm normally very happy with the food, but tonight the Bhel Puri, wasn't fresh and was stale, chewy and oily. Not crisp, crunchy and light as normal. I had to throw it away it was not a nice taste! Yuk. The dhal fry was lovely as usual. Thanks.

Thought we would try out susmitas today I was tempted by the authentic food on the menu. We were not disappointed! We were particularly wowed by the main dishes (we tried the fish and aubergine curries) and the traditional breads which were so delicious but also light in texture. A real delight. Very different from any mainstream curries I have tried. Susmita and her husband were so welcoming and helpful advising us of which dishes to try; and the service was impeccable. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!! First visit here after finding it on a google search. Only a small restaurant that hasn’t been open for long - The food and service were excellent and a very interesting menu. Lots to choose from and we could have eaten them all! A great addition to the Bath restaurant scene!

For starters, we ordered the lamb skewers. It was some of the most amazing Indian food I’ve ever had tasted incredibly authentic.

We just had a wonderful dinner at Sushmita’s. We were a group of 8 family members, all Vegetarian with significant preferences for the food. I was quickly able to make reservation at a short notice and we were impressed with the quality and taste of the large variety of dishes we ordered. Starting with the appetizers, Vegetable pakoras and Chat Papadi which truly increased our appetite. The main dishes ordered included Gobhi Manchurian, Bhindi Masala, Daal Fry and plain Rice, Fried Rice, Dahi Bengan, their signature Dum Aloo, Khichadi, Missi Roti, Tandoor Naans, and a Garlic Naan. Everyone tried everything and unanimously appreciated the great taste. For dessert, we ordered Shrikhand and Carrot halwa. The service was great and though it is fairly newly opened, family owned restaurant, deserves to be recognized for their truly “Satvic” food prepared with great live and care by the executive Chef. We had dinner at a highly acclaimed, and rated restaurants the prior few nights and most people in our group are real “foodie and great Chefs” themselves - so to please all of them and to meet their demanding standards is commendable. Very rarely you’ll find the menu with so many great choices! I am so glad that I researched the menus of a few restaurants and decided to eat at Sushmita’s. If you want authentic and unique signature dishes, please do visit Sushmita’s. 🙏😋👌

What a little gem! My husband and I went for dinner in Susmita during a short break in Bath and the food was absolutely delicious, fresh and made with love. Excepitional experience for foodies, everything we tried was just oustanding. Fantastic service, the waiter is polite and attentive and made us reccomendations. Susmita, the owner, went far and beyond to make sure we had a fantastic experience and made us try various desserts. From the starter to the dessert everything is delicious. Great varied options available in the menu that need to be explored for an authentic Odisha cuisine experience. Highly recommended!!

Incredibly fresh & tasty food. We chose the signature & regional dishes & were not disappointed. The flavours were unique & we felt we had an authentic indian dining experience.

I will recommend this place for Indian Lunch or Dinner during a visit to Bath. My parents enjoyed the food such as Rice, Dal Fry, Mushroom Masala, Chicken Kassa, Egg Tadka, Butter Nan. The most loved item was Limbu Pani and "Khira Gaja" an odia sweet dish prepared by Chef Anand Swain. Owners and staffs were very nice. Lovely Atmosphere and the location is accessible.

Amazing Authentic India food, Must try! Our server Anant was amazing! Becoming a regular now.

Whilst the delivery time was reasonable and the food itself was very tasty, it was incredibly overpriced. The £14.95 Chicken Kasa was delicious but only had 3 (yep, correct, 3!!) pieces of chicken in it. The Dahl again was tasty, had a kick to it but had a thin sauce and there was a severe lack of lentils!! The chicken lollipops were minuscule and were more like tiny wings, not what you would pay £8.95 for. Unfortunately the taste simply did not make up for a lack of food. Note, we are not greedy people, just expect more than 3 small pieces of meat for a £15 dish!!

The best breakfast place in Bath, period. So many vegan dishes to choose from for breakfast (and lunch/dinner too) and they’re all very tasty and authentic. The owner also let us try a vegan dessert that he specifically made for us, semolina halwa that was so yummy. Can’t wait to return.

What a wonderful meal. We’ve wondered about this place for a while but hadn’t been in, I’m so glad we did! Lovely fresh, rich, deep, authentic flavours, every dish distinct from the next. Such warm and attentive service too. We’ll definitely be coming back.

My wife and I had a sumptuous Odia lunch. It was the most delicious and authentic lunch we ever had outside of Odisha. In fact the taste was even better. The ‘chat’ reminded me of the one we had in front of RD Women’s College. Absolutely amazing. We had traditional Odia cuisine- Dahi bhat version of Pakhala, baingani, badi chooda, Amba and Khajoor Khatta, Dalma, Fish (I had, not misus as she is vegetarian), mushrooms. And all over traditional Bollywood music. It’s the only Odia full menu outlet in UK. Highly recommend. It’s in the Roman city of Bath in UK, but its chains deserve to be everywhere which Sushmita and Ashish are working on. Kudos!!

I only received 3 of the 4 dishes I ordered, the portions are also tiny. I’ve ordered multiple times from this place before and this is not right.

Fantastic place to have authentic indian curry and specialties from Orrisa the eastern state of India. Both Susmita and Asish personally take care of the guests and give close attention to detail! We can see the pride in their eyes following satisfying serving of food! Great choice and a must go place in Bath!

Cannot recommend this place enough! My family had a number of starters, mains, and deserts, and every dish was delicious, perfectly seasoned, and fresh. We ordered all vegetarian dishes, and it looked like there were many great vegan options as well. I also really enjoyed the mango lassi, great flavour and not too sweet.

We had chicken kasha, chicken tandoor, mushroom patrapoda, Panipuri, Chat, Fish tikka, Chicken pakoda, dal fry, paneer lababdar. All the items on the menu were outstanding! Each dish was bursting with flavor and perfectly cooked. The quality of ingredients was evident in every bite. We had been there for dinner. The place is warm and cozy. It has good ambience and above all the owners were very helpful in deciding the cuisines as there were so many options.. 😊 chicken lababdari and olive nan were great. We also ordered pani puri, chicken tandoori and the famous odia dessert ‘ Rasagula’ . This place is definitely our stop for authentic Indian food. Will surely visit again and strongly recommend!! ❤️❤️

Authentic dishes from Odisha are served here! And wow it’s super vegan friendly with vegan dishes clearly labeled! The price is so reasonable and the food was so delicious- it has been our go-to eat out spot. You need to come to try yourself!

Run by a friendly couple….they are not only lovely hosts but the food is yummy….one can have authentic oriya dishes which is not easily available in UK. One can order food from all over India, all the dishes are excellent. Will visit again and thanks for the excellent service and experience

Had a really lovely meal at Susmita’s in celebration of my brother’s birthday. Food was delicious and tasted really authentic, also tried some new dishes I’d never had before which was great fun. Service was wonderful too, they’re lovely people and gave us some great recommendations based on our taste and spice tolerance. Especially loved the chilli mushroom dish - so nice! We are also all vegan and there were so many options on the menu for us to choose from. Everything is clearly marked on the menu as well so you can feel confident ordering within any dietary requirements. Lovely atmosphere too and the care that went into the food and experiment was top tier. Thanks!

Really lovely food, served buy the most charming couple. This was not like generic Indian you get in most UK restaurants, it was really fresh with the spices tingling on your tongue, and very morish. Definitely going back there soon

This place has the best Indian food and the wide variety of dishes helped me feel like I was back in India. The chicken was succulent and rich with flavour. I was at Susmita’s with my husband and friends for dinner. Firstly I feel proud to see an Odia restaurant in Bath and kudos to Susmita and her husband Asish, they are a wonderful couple and host. We had authentic odia food and it made us nostalgic. One suggestion though, the portions could be little more.

Our Christmas Eve outing for the family and time well spent with Ashish bhai and Susmita ji..Superb Indian authentic food, Indian taste unleashed, my round the year favourite restaurant. You must try the masala kulcha, the veg platter and from the non-veg side, the mutton kasa.. You must visit once to taste so that you can come again.

What a brilliant location. The two owners were incredibly nice and couldn’t have been any better to me and family and were incredibly polite and helpful in choosing a dish in the vast options available. The food was amazing and tasted like I had been transported to India. I can’t recommend this place anymore and would put 6 stars if I could. I highly recommend going there with the family or a date or by yourself as it was as good as could be and the atmosphere and feel was really great and I couldn’t recommend it more.

Proper Indian food and proper Oriya food. Had a lovely evening and both Susmita and her husband gave a lot of attention. It was my first time trying Oriya food and I am so glad I took a chance. From the first mouthful it was obvious that this place is not aspiring to be another curry house but wants to do justice to complex Indian cuisine
