This is for their Camden restaurant. On more than one occasion food has arrived with items missing. Also don’t bother ordering large portion it’s the same as regular just charged more. Very lazy

This restaurant owns 2 also one in Camden ! THiS THE WORST Restaurant I have ever eaten food swimming in thick GREASE!🤮🤮🤮🤮due to this was unwell for 4 days . Stay away at all costs Won’t give me refund as when I asked the woman said NO !!!!! Unfriendly sickening tasting food my Ackee n Saltfish did not look or taste like Saltfish scary 🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮

The food is tasty and there's a hood variety of Jamaican lassic dishes. The service was friendly and welcoming. Prices are good and the restaurant is nice and clean.

Disgusting food, so disappointed as gravy like water, fish like rubber, punch dead. This shop should be closed. The worst food I have had with regards to Caribbean

The most delicious food and most beautiful lady serving the good food with love and care. The amazing service and the most tastiest food brought tears to my eyes! This place is a must, if you love jamaican culture and food. For a massive amount of food I have only paid a little, but nothing can compare with the happiness and joy that I felt due to the hospitality of this fantastic lady who's name I don't know as I was too shy to ask!

I ordered on just eat and only half of my food arrived by just eat when I contacted the store no apology only claim a refund or come and get your food!

Absolute joke charging crazy prices for for side dishes. And take away any good affordable meals off the food apps they even had small bites to eat that they took off and even the steam veg is a rip off and so are all the drinks

My first and last time ever ordering from here this is the worst Jamaican food I’ve ever had in my entire life, curry goat tasteless, that and the hard rice went straight in the trash, really I should have taken it back for them to taste it themselves because clearly no taste testing is being done, whoever is cooking this nastiness needs to be stopped before they kill someone. The food is 🤢 disgusting 🤮 it should not be served to the public at all.

I saw this restaurant on the way out to meet friends for Xmas lunch and drinks, we actually went to a West Indian restaurant called Cottons in Camden ( Delicious btw, rum punch lick off my head🥹!!), anyways as I passed the new restaurant I thought I’d pop in on the way home as I get off at Highams Park station and I’m very greedy! I ordered a small stew chicken, rice and peas and a Mac and cheese, prices are reasonable! I am a West Indian man and know good food when I taste it, stew chicken wasn’t bad but the Mac and cheese was atrocious, I sure just the top had cheese, absolutely flavourless, too thick and was very disappointed. We all know when making macaroni and cheese we use macaroni, 3 different types of cheeses and not pasta. Just thought I’d try this new West Indian out but unfortunately it didn’t live up to my standards and will not be returning. I’ll stick to my own homemade authentic West Indian quinine, you feel me!! 😉

The food I purchased was a takeaway Oxtail and rice and peas and stew chicken and rice and peas ….the Oxtail tasted burnt and had a bitter taste to it the rice and peas had also burnt taste . The chicken and the Oxtail was swimming in Gravy and the gravy was disgusting no flavor .. The oxtail and stew chicken tasted and did not seem fresh like it was cooked yesterday or the day before and both meats had no flavor. I wil not order from here am again, unless they change their chef. This is definitely NOT Carribbean cuisine .

They are incompetent you make a order and recieve a total different order they don’t double check their orders before sending out you end spending more for less. It’s not nice especially in cost of living.Be cautious before you make an order

This restaurant is ok. But the mac and cheese is horrific. Get someone proper to make it and this would’ve got 5 stars because whatever is being made is a joke.

This use to be my go to place for work time lunch. Even breakfast. However, the service is now slow and the staff often get the orders wrong. So always repeat your order!!! There appears to be a high staff turnover. The food is on point though.

The food was swimming in watery gravy and tasted so bland I don't believe acceptable seasonings were used. I come from a large family all jamaican roots and never have I eaten anything so terrible, I feel shame to say I ordered from Jamaicans so I will leave it down to this is a Montserration establishment. I called up to ask for steamed vegetables as this was not on the list the lady was adamant that this isn't something they serve as a side. Awful customer service I always said people from the carribean that run these establishments like too sweet and the rest need training in communication and interpersonal skills which is the very least of what you need when working with the public. I have a headache and feel extremely ill, the reviews that say their nice probably aren't Jamaicans either therefore couldn't measure the authenticity of the food. I do not recommend and if she only parted with some vegetables I would have eaten that and been ok I've had to chuck the whole thing and the last time I did that was when I ate from a Montserrat restaurant by accident.

Staff don't cummunicate well, very unprofessional, lazy, sleepy faces , I'm absolutely shocked with the poor and slow service.

Proper proper Jamaican traditional jerk, the best Caribbean in town, the Plantin is amazing, friendly staff, all food is fresh and the Mac and cheese has that great traditional jerky flavour, I even bought extra jerk gravy to have with my bangers and mash the next day. Quality, Selecta!

I always pass through for a takeaway every time I go back into Hackney to visit my mum. The food is authentic, delicious and freshly made. Food hygiene is 5 star and that's a big factor I consider every time I eat out. The customer service is friendly. There's a lovely young lady with great eye lash extentions and nails. She's always smiling, polite and chats nicely to the customers. Toilets are fresh, pretty and designed and cleaned to hotel standards. Again..I'm very happy I can wash my hands before taking away my food.

I ordered fried sea bass, coleslaw and rice and peas. The fish gravy was terrible excessive amount of carrot chunks and tasted of tomato ketchup way too much. The coleslaw was terribly salty as of they mistakenly dropped the whole jar of salt into it. They need to be more careful when preparing food for customers because qualified caterers should have knowledge for health reasons what to add and what not to add to recipes. Besides this the staff is quite unprofessional and rude to customers and doesn’t know how to address staff politely. I also ordered marble cake and OMG this tasted of dirt actually dirty didn’t taste of cake at all it’s as if they had it next to dirt or where they store this doesn’t seem to get cleaned. Very unhygienic indeed and gone extremely down hill. Wouldn’t recommend no way!

It is so disappointing to have to write this review, as I often visited this restaurant and held it in high regard. It had always been our ‘go-to’ takeaway Caribbean restaurant, as the service was always good and the quality of food was decent. Unfortunately however, my opinion has drastically changed. Yesterday, my partner purchased his order of steamed fish with rice and peas and for me, a portion of fried fish and steamed vegetables. When he arrived home, I microwaved my food with the hope to then begin eating. I didn’t begin eating. My reason? Because I found roughly 30 maggots crawling in my food! Mortified, we returned to the restaurant, but as the food began to cool down the maggots started to hide within the flesh of the fish. At the restaurant, the owner was present so I showed him the video footage. As expected, the owner was shocked and actually called his fish supplier whilst I was there. Whether it was the fault of the fish supplier or the restaurant owner remains uncertain. As a black woman, writing this about a black business, I was initially hesitant. After some consideration however, I do now, feel obligated and responsible to share my experience. NB: Tripadvisor doesn’t allow video footage to be uploaded.

I ordered the jerk chicken, curried goat, beef patty, and a dumpling bigger than my fist via Deliveroo. It came hot and on time. All that came to about £14 and it was so much food. The portions are extremely generous and I ate like a king. I recommend the curried goat, it was especially delicious.

We have eaten here since the day it opened when it was really good and sadly watched it decline. We got takeaway last night and it really wasn’t very good at all. The goat Curry at £9 a portion was a big lump of rice with lots of bits of bone in a brown lumpy sauce. There were 3 pieces Of actual meat. The curry itself was so boring and woefully under seasoned. The jerk chicken was 3 small pieces with no discernible jerk spicing and absolutely no chilli at all. Again the box was mainly stodgy rice. The sauce was non existent, again £9 for brown bland fodder. The bbq wings were soggy and sweet. The whole thing was a real let down. If anyone from Survivor is reading this you started so well, the food was amazing, so silly to have done all the hard work setting it up etc to then drop your standards and up your prices.
