SUPERFRY in Coleraine

Just bought 2 fish suppers there. Order number 22 (17 March) Batter soggy definitely not crispy. Cooking temperature too low or wrong batter recipe. Disappointed- have been going there since early 70s. Could do better.

Called for one of the famous chicken fillet burgers. They did not disappoint . Great chips too. Delicious. A must try when in Portstewart . Great friendly staff. Thanks. We will be back

This Chip shop which they descibe as 'super' is possibly the worst fish and chip shop I have ever experienced. To begin, the chips were not fresh and have clearly been left in the chip shop for a while before being dished up. Along with the 2 portions of chips that we ordered, we also got a portion of goujouns and onion rings. You would honestly question whether they were from IceLand or not. And as for the goujouns, they were not to the standard that they should have been and you would have thought that they were frozen beforehand. This is a shameful fish and chip in a well known seaside resort.

I remember one time the owners kid barged right into me and my friends for absolutely no reason sending us flying, got no apology, height of rudeness, not surprising as him and his friends used to steal things from buds and dominican had to get involved. the owner however is lovely.

Absolutely disgusting! Please avoid if you can! - got the chicken tenders and it’s processed chicken, you bite into it and it’s bouncy and rubbery.. had to throw the lot in the bin. Not much food you cannot eat, but this is NOT chicken it’s not breast it’s mashed processed chicken, tasted of nothing.

First time visit to the Superfry and it was not disappointing. I ordered 2 cod suppers and they were huge. I was also offered tartar sauce as I collected my order. The staff were friendly and they accept card payments. A definite return visit will be on the cards.

Costly and chips preheated wouldn’t go back

Well after 12pm and still not open! Shutters down, no answer to the phone. Normally one of our special North Coast visit treats…but not this time!!

Cant really fault it. Had fish supper, didn't take long, wasn't greasy and tasted pretty good. Shop itself probably could do with extra staff but probably another greedy owner. Def would eat again

Overpriced and quality substandard! Asked for a burger with nothing but sauce, got a burger smothered in relish with no sauce! Asked for a hotdog with onions and sauce, got a hotdog with onions, nothing else! Not exactly a difficult order, and to top it off, was absolutely rubbish! Not be back even if they're giving it away for free! So poor!

Today I had the most disappointing meal I have ever had from Superfry which I had considered the best chippy in the area. Firstly I had ordered a cheese chip and when I returned home to have my lunch, found that I had received a gravy chip instead ( I don't like gravy chips ) . I had also ordered a Hawaiian burger which turned out to be one of the driest burgers I have ever had - no onions or thousand Island dressing. Unfortunately I probably won't be back 😔

Stopped off for a carryout to bring to the beach to eat. Am a fussy eater. Fish was perfect. Chips N curry was excellent. Really enjoyed it enough to bother leaving a review. Couldn't finish it all so arrived home with leftovers to reheat at home. Look forward to that. Will definitely visit here next time I'm in Portstewart. Excellent.

Just ate chips from this place, they were not fresh I know it’s the north west weekend but when your paying for items you expect better, couldn’t eat this takeaway was not fresh and chips were awful! Customer service wasn’t great also

Food was overcooked the chips had been re heated, not real processed chicken wouldnt go back to it would stay away from it.

We decided to try for fish and chips as were visiting for the weekend. Really sad to say that they were the worst fish & chips we have ever had. The fish is not freshly cooked from scratch with batter, tastes like supermarket frozen fish. Chips were obviously sat a while. On the plus side, the young man serving was super friendly & good craic. Sadly we wouldn’t go back.

Got a chip,pea and gravy and the chip tasted old. I don't know if I will go back.

We recently visited the north coast for a walk a long the beach, on our way home we thought we might stop at Portstewart and enjoy a Chip Monger treat for dinner. Unfortunately it was closed so we went next door to the Superfry chippy (our first and last visit). Tasteless greasy food, overly priced and we ended up throwing most of it in the bin. Very disappointed.

Chicken tenders were basic oven chicken tenders. Chips were dry. Forgot dip even though I double checked the order. Usually a few extra chips are added when a supper is not ordered, there were none. Will try somewhere else next time as it was disappointing.

We needed a fish supper and we hadn't been in Superfry for a while, so we ordered 2 fish suppers with tartare sauce, the staff were attentive and friendly, the shop is clean and well maintained and waiting time was minimal. Food was good, the only complaint would have been the tartare sauce, it was very weak with no bite, Apart from that, we would call again. Thanks folks,,,,

Got Fish and Chips and a Hawaiian Burger. Both were lovely. Will definitely call again when we are up that way.

Nice place . Nice friendly staff . Food was fresh and tasty all you really want from a chippy and so much better than Mr chips in portrush where we had a horrible experience .

Tasty food and pleasant staff. No complaints at all.

It's the only chipshop to go to in Portstewart. It's still take out only due to COVID, but they also hand out beepers if you wish to wait outside.

I got fish & chips for the folk @ tullaghmurry fold on Tue excellent ☺️ I treated myself this evening to fish & chips for our supper this evening, again lovely crispy batter, really dry & the chips on both occasions were a lovely golden brown. Keep it up 😉

Long established family owned business and providing good quality fish suppers and more at affordable prices, I would recommend for family visitors

Better than the place a few shops up, kids love the chicken goujons, happy to recommend!

Very good food and the girl was very friendly. It was quite a long wait but the food was piping hot and worth the wait.

Hard to image how these guys can make the chips stick together like they do. Both the chicken burger and beef burger we could not finish due to bad taste. Used to be good, its not now avoid this place.

Ordered chicken burger meal was not nice burger missing seasoning and was over cooked , very hard couldn't bite it off lol, chips taste nice but all mashed up in paper put me off it, friend ordered beef burger was happy , I can imagine better food for 9£ the one that I would actually eat not throw in bin...would I be back ? I asked for very little salt and plenty of vinegar. The salt was like poison. I couldnt eat my food

Driving through on a wet and windy afternoon, stumbled across this takeaway and enjoyed a very good meal. Very friendly service too - fish and chips very tasty.

Definitely my favourite chippy in the Port. Lovely staff, good portions, tasty food - what more could you ask for? Pre-Covid, there was even the option to dine in which was something I took advantage of with friends. Great place.

I had the chicken here, it was disgusting. Dry and had too much batter. 0/10 for food. Atmosphere wasn't much better, 3/10.

Local business that prides itself in hygiene!...Best carry out in the triangle area by far...I am hard to please regarding food yet in over 20 years I have never been disappointed by Superfry!...The Staff always pleasant and I should know...👍

Walk in to place order was told to wait outside because too many in thought fair enough they were waiting placing food but no they were waiting on there order well that's OK my business will be appreciated else were that does things the right way by the way four in at time look more like eight to nine

Ordered a portion of chips - now I know its called fast food but we had ours inside 10secs but what we received were the scraps which had obviously been lying for some time- if you cant get chips right its not a good sign

After 3 months lockdown me and my family took a day trip to portrush.....had a lovely day went to this wee chippy for a lovely treat to eat on the beach...... food was beautiful but when we were there some man maybe the owner came...

Got the chicken nugget meal with gravy. Partner got a fish meal. He isn’t overly fussed on chippy but we both agreed this is an exception. The food was lovely, not greasy at all and the gravy was the best we’ve had from a chippy....

Staying in Portstewart for the long weekend. Ordered 3 burger suppers and a fish supper. Burgers basic enough, chips poor and fish terrible. V soggy batter and cheap fish inside, certainly not cod as advertised. Place could do with a good clean. V dissapointing

We popped into the SUPERFRY for chips on Saturday evening. The chip shop was very busy, sign of a good chippy! We ordered, paid and waited for our chips. We waited about 15 minutes but it was worth it. The chips were crisp and boiling...

Food good, but meagre surroundings

We were told this was the best chippy in Portstewart. Unfortunately either we have higher standards or they were having a very bad day. The chips were good the fish on the other hand were the worst I have encountered in some time. The batter was soggy and flat giving the impression that it had been there some time, but as I saw them go into the heated shelf I can only presume the were pre-cooked or frozen. Whatever, it was not good.

Got a cod meal that was well priced and very delicious. Two big lumps of cod inside the box when I opened it and the chips were real good to.

Nipped in on Friday night to pick up a take away on the last night of a mini break. Service was quick and food was really lovely! Ordered pastie suppers, fish suppers and sausages for our family of 6 and despite having 2 teen boys...

Hard to believe a 'chip shop' could produce such a poor fish supper.Batter was soggy and thick, uneatable. Ordered onion rings as well and these were similar to those you would buy in supermarket. Could have made better at home.save yourself the expense and disappointment - go elsewhere or cook yourself!

After a busy day on the north coast we needed some food to keep our energy levels up. We looked at a few take away places but plumped for this one as the line was out the door (usually a good sign). The food was ok/good and reasonable value for money. The toilets were adequate but lacking hand towels and toilet rolls. But in their defence it was very so on another day things may have been better.
