Superfish in Merton

High quality fresh fish, haddock on my most recent visit, superbly cooked (crisp, but light batter), and very friendly service. Also licensed.. I had a cup of tea, but next time will have a glass of wine. I also (being originally from Yorkshire ;-) had mushy peas. Also had tartar sauce. Overall, couldn’t be bettered I’d say.

As usual food excellent we were given complimentary mushy peas which unfortunately we don't like but lovely gesture gave them to our neighbour

Great long generation a family run fish & chips restaurant in Morden. It is very Cosy restaurant clean and tidy. Efficient and friendly staff, Serving a traditional fish & chips.

Not sure if owners have changed but the quality when we are in the restaurant was bad. The fish was bland and greasy. Chips weren’t much better either. Had to rely on the tartare to help make the chips edible. Also, the price of a glass of Coke Zero over £3 is robbery considering not even a can. They pour from a bottle which is flat. Will not be returning here..

The fish was thick and not crispy. The chips were undercooked and the curry sauce was extremely expensive. Good fish and chips is always by the beach.

Fabulous fish and chips. Restaurant service is good, has wine and beer on menu. Take out has fast service even on Friday. Plenty of regular customers so that's a good sign of consistent quality.

very disappointing, over priced for what was served up. Fish pieces were small and soggy as were the chips. Superfish used to be excellent but this didn't show with this order. Won't be using again.

Tracking driver he seemed to go out of the way and took longer than he should have, unless he did multiply drop offs so food was just warm. Had to re heat chips.

driver delivering 2 orders , goes to first one, which is 10 mins in opposite direction stays there 5 mins then drives 10 min back past superfish then another 10 mins to me, i wonder why it arrived cold,

Arrived cold as driver left restaurant then signal lost and 15 mins later when signal come back she still in same place and doesn't move for another 10min,

I today visited for a takeaway, second time in two weeks. My previous visit was 4 years ago! A few years ago I started a very low carb lifestyle. Like many others on low carb, I also avoid seed oils. I do not believe vegetable oils to be at all heart healthy. So, I avoided takeaways due to carbs but also because of most restaurants using seed oils. I recently remembered how the Superfish website talks about cooking in the traditional way with beef tallow. So, last week I rang them just to confirm that they indeed use beef fat. The lady on the phone "apologised" for them not using vegetable oil, while I thanked her and said I'd be there in a few minutes. My usual order is a large haddock and chips. Last week was the first time I saw their takeaway boxes. I had a decent sized haddock and a very generous amount of chips in one of the long boxes. Today, same order and two boxes. At home I find a larger than usual haddock taking up most of the long box. My chips were separate in a square box. My photo of the haddock overlapping my dinner plate didn't come out ( thumb on lens? ) but the photo of the haddock in the box has my 27cm plate underneath. This was again a very generous serving. For what it's worth, my cat very much enjoyed a little bit of haddock I picked out before lemon, salt or vinegar. I do like that Superfish have always offered a freshly sliced wedge of lemon. It is my preference to only ask for lemon. I have good salt and vinegar at home which I prefer to use, preferring to season my fish and chips as I eat them. Well, having taken a four year break from Superfish, I will be back quite regularly. As long as they carry on using healthy, tasty beef tallow, I doubt there is a tastier fish and chips to be had.

Delivered cold as driver was 2 mins from my house and decides to deliver another order 1st 10 mins away

The chips, curry sauce and battered sausage are all amazing here. The customer service and portion size make it one of the best takeaway providers in Morden. There is also an eat in restaurant which has a cosy quiet vibe. I enjoy eating from here so much it has become a weekly tradition for my girlfriend and I.

The batter on the fish was not crispy enough. It was crispy at the ends but not so for the main part of the fish!! so slightly disappointed as I do think there should be a crunchy texture. Chips, curry sauce and sausage were all good otherwise

The quality of the food was let down by the terrible delivery time. Unfortunately, the delivery time was totally unreasonable due to the fact the courier went to other locations in totally the other direction before he turned around and came back past the restaurant. It didn’t seem the food was kept in an insulated bag and was lukewarm warm on arrival. Very poor delivery service and this affected the quality and the food ordered. Disappointing service!!!

Unfortunately the quality has gone down recently, tried again tonight but it was worse than ever - the batter was very thick and soggy probably undercooked, it was also practically cold when we got home. Will try elsewhere next time which is very disappointing as we have been customers for over 15 years !

Food was cold had to put it in microwave and batter was flat not at all crispy

The fish quality was good but there was a heavy greasy smell. They should not cook everything in the same oil. I was tasting heavy sausage while I was trying to eat my fish. Those are completely different flavours.

Have ordered a few times and really enjoyed the food just very let down tonight and previous order tonight delivery driver had 3 orders to do in one go so by the time the food came it was stone cold and not very happy after spending £60

Very hospitable and family-friendly atmosphere. I ordered a large cod with chips to take-away but decided instead to dine-in when I saw the nice setting. It could have frustrated the situation but it didn’t, instead they treated me with great patience and kindness. Excellent customer service.

This place never lets you down! The fish is so fresh and the chips are perfect. Good for takeaway or eating in, the staff are lovely too.

BEST cod in the country, maybe UK? Seems no cod apart from very overpriced at Fisherman's Pier in Edinburgh. Everyone else average and pricey Haddock.

A midweek meal out, so it was fairly quiet, although a steady flow of customers were coming in for take away. I had the fried salmon, delicious, perfectly cooked with a light batter coating. Chips were good chip shop style chips but more crispy - not the greasy fatty soft mess of past tradition. We were served by a charming and polite young lady who smiled and was friendly and helpful throughout our visit. Fish and chips is such a lovely simple meal, reminding me of Friday nights when I was a kid. But Superfish takes that to a new level, making the whole experience a good amount more sophisticated and pleasurable than those childhood memories.

I have spoken to the shop and told him the chips look old and she me are cooked and not cooked. I would like a refund as cannot eat this. The owner said its to do with the chips batch due to the crop please refund me my money back

Have just finished a thoroughly enjoyable cod and chips with salt, lemon and extra vinegar. It was nicely presented in a box which kept it all hot and was easy to eat from. Chips were perfect as was the fish and batter. I ordered a small portion but there was plenty there. The restaurant was clean, the person who served us was friendly and efficient. All was freshly cooked and I would highly recommend a visit. Next time I will be eating in as the restaurant menu had jam roly poly on the menu with custard or ice cream.

Very soggy undercooked batter, so disappointed been using superfish for many years , but never had it delivered before and the quality definitely below par !!

Food was good. The whitebait was inedible is was very oily and bitter even my cats didn’t want it.

Good quality fish and chips - loses a star for its packaging as it’s fish and chips were stuck to the paper. Batter could improve on the haddock as it was slightly wet and falling off fish.

The food was squashed flat in one box. It arrived hot but very greasy. I think the fox enjoyed it.

I just got a portion of chips with salt and vinegar. The service was super fast and polite. The price very reasonable. With just a bit more vinegar the chips would have been perfect. Will go back.

Ordered cod and chips. The food was hot, batter crispy and fish was white, not like some shops who sell other fish as cod. The chips were lovely too. A little expensive but to be fair the quality was so high it was well worth it. Would buy again.

Our local fish and chips shop which has never let us down. The staff are absolutely brilliant, we sat in and enjoyed our dinner for the first time post covid. We would highly recommend eating in or takeaway.

Haven't had fish and chips for ages. Been disappointed in the past. Even though its a bit dearer than others well worth it! Food was quick to come, it was hot, fish was lovely loads of chips. Very pleased.

Dining in earns you some freebies as extras! Service is friendly and super fast. It's always chill inside, but their food is always fantastic dining in or taking out. Would always recommend and I'll be back for sure.

I've got take aways from Super Fish for decades but this was the very first time we'd eaten in. Food was delicious, but it always is. Best curry sauce I've had in a long time from a chippie. Service was brilliant. Can't fault it.

This establishment really lives up to its name and never fails to please. The fish is top quality and cooked well and there are free extras like prawns and crusty bread before the main event. Staff are always friendly.

Food never turned up, driver for some reason delivered it to different house. Just left on doorstep, they then found it when got home an hour later

Lovely fish and chips! Too bad it always smells so smokey as in burnt fryer oil. Also, last time I visited they were clearly short staffed and as a result we didn't get drinks for a while and never got our pickles and sauces despite asking.

Coming from Grimsby, I am super critical of fish and chips anywhere else! My sister-in-law invited us for lunch there, so I accepted, thinking I would be disappointed. Well I wasn't! I ordered haddock, which was beautiful - well-cooked, lovely crispy batter! The waitress was just right - attentive, without being 'in your face'. All in all an excellent experience for a Saturday lunch. Thank you!

Perhaps one of the best fish and chips in south London. The catch of the day was amazing. The place does get busy though so do not expect to just walk at peak times. Would recommend to anyone after a decent and well priced fish and chip shop.

Usually superb but tonight this was delivered in the name of a Large Cod!! Not sure if they were running low or the rider was hungry.
