Sunshine Italian Restaurant in Pembrokeshire

Compared with last year the menu as far as non-pizza and pasta mains are concerned is somewhat limited. Nevertheless the service and quality of the food cannot be faulted, although the prices are perhaps a little steep.

We three visited this eatery twice first visit we had a panini and a gluten free pizza to share and coffee and tea ..All delicious The next visit we had the gluten free pizza again and a piece of Almond cake and coffee …. Again just so tasty ….one complaint the Almond cake slice wasn’t big enough

A fabulous evening seascape, seated by the window for delicious sea bass / gluten free lasagne; friendly courteous and well timed service.

Excellent pizza- fresh ingredients and generous amount of toppings! We had gluten and gluten free bases. Both delicious! Friendly attentive staff - great views. Well worth a visit!!!

Service is so variable and unreliable, I have seen people walk out in frustration. Food can be good, but staff seem to be selective as to who they will provide good service to . This is observed after several visits.

Phone through the order for a single pizza, staff were very polite. Went into the restaurant and it was confusing as to where we pay, we were then directed to the till which was right next to a table of people eating which was awkwardly close. The pizza was ok but not the best, probably wouldn’t return.

The place is a mess, needs a good coat of paint because it looks very tatty. The walls have marks where they have maybe taken down posters, the tables needs a good polish and it generally has a bit of an unloved feel sadly. We were show to our table at 7.15pm and waited and waited and waited, after half an hour we were given drinks and asked for our order and we waited and waited and waited, again. This is the second time I have taken my family there in the last couple of months even after I vowed, never again. I should have stuck to my guns. The service is terrible, not the fault of the kids working there though. They look like they've never been trained and also there doesn't seem to be anyone in charge. They do the best they can but it's chaos. Give them their dues though they are all very friendly and try. The food was OK but oh so slow and it wasn't even that busy. Such a shame as it was a nice place to go but I don't think I'll bother again

Whilst the staff were pleasant, the service was terrible - slow, inattentive, inaccurate and chaotic. Other diners were also seen complaining about waiting times. The food we did receive was ok but we gave up after 2 hours.

First time eating here in a very long time but i will definitely be back - the food was stunning. I had the pasta/aubergine/tomato with a side of green veg and it was delicious - my friend has the meat lasagne and garden salad and we cleaned our plates it was beautiful. After sitting outside for the meal we went in to sit in the window and watch the most beautiful sunset i've ever seen and i've lived on the coast most of my life. We then decided to have pudding and coffee/tea to finish which was served to us by a young man who was so polite and hardworking - the whole thing was a lovely experience and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them for any occasion. It was packed but the staff were smiling, helpful and we came away feeling really content and happy.

Great Food and fantastic service, if a little overstretched when very busy. Cannot fault the menu, the flavours or the choice of puddings, and highly recommend the chacuterie meat starter for two. Worth a visit after a day at the beach if you fancy something a little more than the usual pub food.

Loved this place ! We visited one evening and were really impressed . The serving staff were doing a wonderful job , so friendly and smily and nothing was too much trouble , even though they were clearly rushed off their feet! We ate in the restaurant but they were also busy offering their takeaway pizza service . Food quality was excellent. Nothing to fault . Well done to all the staff , you are a real credit to the restaurant

Not sure how our experience could be so different from others recently on here. However, having enjoyed food previously here we felt really let down . Half the food wasn’t on the menu and the service was totally lacking. There seemed to be no connection between front of house and the kitchen. One of our party was a coeliac (informed when booking) and tbh his pizza for the price was dreadful. Such a contrast to previous visits. When we said at the end we weren’t happy the response was a smirk. Will not be returning, and we live locally!

This is a wonderful restaurant, with incredibly friendly, warm, helpful staff serving delicious food. We ate there 3 times in all while we stayed in Broad Haven, and couldn't believe our luck to have such a great place literally next door to where we were staying. If visiting please be sure to drop in, you won't be disappointed.

Lovely pizzas and great service. The team were super friendly and welcoming. The pizzas were well loaded, freshly cooked, great quality. So big, we took some away with us to eat at the cottage.

We often go here and the staff give consistently great service, friendly and professional. The food is really tasty and fresh. Great coffee too, such a great place to visit.

As always a wonderful welcome at the restaurant. We even met the owner Mr Rees - a unique and lovely character. The ambience is fantastic, overlooking the beach; plenty of room and a great menu. The food was exceptional and I think the sea bass meal is the best in Pembrokeshire. If you haven’t been to the Sunshine Italian restaurant, you need to put it in your list. A gem in the small village of Broad Haven. Dog friendly too, which is the reason we were there today. Our little Westie was 5, so we had his birthday treat in the restaurant - freshly cooked chicken breast for Giz, followed by Burns chicken & rice treats courtesy of the venue.

We had friends coming to stay at St. Brides and they asked if we would like to meet them for lunch somewhere. We actually live in Pembrokeshire, but do not know that area very well, so I looked online and liked the look of Sunshine Italian, so suggested we met there. We were not disappointed. It is a lovely little restaurant, right opposite the beach. Our waiter, Fabio, was so friendly and efficient and made us feel very welcome. We each had something different to eat and all thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Three of us had the affogato for dessert and it was the best I had ever tasted - the Baileys made all the difference. Oh and the toilet was spotless! Would definitely go back.

Visited this restaurant on the recommendation of a friend. Was not disappointed.. We were met by an incredibly friendly, young lady, who took our food and wine order, chatting and generally making us feel very welcome For starters were had the sharing bread and mozzarella and tomato salad which was delicious. For mains we had chilli chicken and the meatballs, which were also fabulous. Both the service and food was impressive and would recommend this restaurant. Will definitely be returning to try the other dishes on the menu.

Absolute amazing food can’t recommend it enough. We were a party of 5 adults one toddler and a baby. We all had amazing food, pizzas were great so big couldn’t eat it all and we were offered a box to take the remaining slices pizza home. The kids menu was great value, we ordered pasta and sauce and the waitress offered the sauce and cheese separate for our toddler which was such a great idea. Ice cream was so good and as it was Halloween they added chocolate spider webs , all staff had made an effort to dress up! Service was amazing. Can’t recommend it enough. Our son turned down dessert, as he said his pizza was better than dessert. Never has he turned down a dessert! Service and food were fantastic, but be warned, portions are large. Really warm welcome and attentive staff. Dogs welcomed too.

Fantastic dinner for five tonight! Super service from Fabio with attentive and skillful staff. Vegetarian risotto, meat platter, pizzas, Avocado and Caesar salads followed by Chocolate puds, Raspberry cheesecake and a great Tiramisu were all brilliant!! Definitely going here again soon 👍

Absolutely superb cuisine. Very pleasant service too. I'd prefer a dog-free area though. And I think it unkind to make dogs have to behave when surrounded by the aroma of good food.

Have just been here tonight for an evening meal. The food and service were absolutely excellent. I’ve been coming to Pembrokeshire for holidays for decades and I’d go as far as saying this was the best meal I’ve ever had in the county. Highly recommend. Wonderful flavours and fresh top quality ingredients. Very friendly staff and nothing was too much trouble. Will definitely be back!

Wow wow wow - staying local for a week and this was a real find. Josh and the rest of the team were really attentive and the food was amazing. Vegetable sharing platter was super tasty and the pizzas were brilliant. We will be returning later in the week.

Stunning food and plenty of choice on the menu, although my husband had the lasagne twice in a 4 day stay.. he said it's the nicest lasagne he has ever had. Great service from all the staff there and dog friendly too. Gorgeous sea front location. Petfect.

Went for lunch. As regular visitors to Italian restaurants we were pleased to find a decent menu. One meat based pasta and a risotto were both good. It offers more than just the 'burger and chips' for ageing customers. Check times and menu at time you choose. Ask at restaurant as to its free parking

This place came highly recommended so we were looking forward to our evening. On arrival we were told they were short staffed so there would be a wait for food, this can’t be helped but we did wait 1hr 15 mins for our food. It felt as though the food had been ready a while as the cheese on the pizzas had been melted and then gone hard again so no cheese pull! Also the potatoes with the sea bass were so unbelievably salty, they were inedible!! We got talking to some holiday makers the next day who told us Sunshine Italian had been saying they are short staffed when they’ve visited for their holiday for the last 2 years…maybe Sunshine should do something about this. Wanting to give them another chance, we popped in for an ice cream after a walk. Again it was busy, we spoke to the man at the till who asked us to wait 5 minutes. Which, of course we did, we then watched him start a number of tasks, running back and forth past us numerous times. Feeling like we had been forgotten we walked out and got ice creams from the next door ice cream shop. During this time the manager seemed to be not busy while his waiting staff were clearly very stressed. This place is trying to be too much. It does breakfast, lunch, dinner, take away, an ice cream parlour and coffee & cake all day. I would rather they offer less but do it well, this place could be so much better. It needs better management!! NB: the young girls who are waitressing are excellent, they are super professional and positive, just a shame they are run off their feet!

Delicious squid ink pasta with mussels, prawns and calamari. Would have liked more seafood - only three pieces of calamari, five mussels and four prawns. Husband ordered the spicy chicken and pasta which he enjoyed but was surprised at how spicy it actually was. Restaurant was full so staff very busy but all friendly and attentive.

Walked here from Newgale and needed sustenance for the return - we ordered chicken and Gorgonzola panini - great combo and real chicken! Carrot cake was delicious. Coffee - we had a cappuccino and americano -was very good. Service was friendly and quick and loads of treats for our dog. Great value for excellent food and service. Would recommend a visit !
