We chose our own toppings on our pizzas, and had some dough balls with garlic butter - could not recommend this place enough. The pizza and dough balls were all delicious, and the service was friendly and helpful. Great place, we'll be back next time we're in the area

Excellent pizza and beers. We went on a quiet Monday afternoon and had the Ndu-ja like it spicy and Land of our fathers pizzas. Both were excellent. The Bluestone Brewing Saint Croix New England style IPA was also delightful. Service was great - attentive enough but not invasive. What a charming little place that you'd barely know existied, if not for it's great reviews.

Fun, semi-outdoor place. Craft beers and top-notch pizza. There was a service glitch and our order got lost, but the manager realised before we got to the point of making an intervention. Hugely apologetic and offered a discount. Very good pizza. Dog-friendly too which is always a plus despite having left ours at home.

Honestly this was incredible. I recently became badly gluten and dairy intolerant, and can’t even risk contamination. So, as you can expect, eating out or almost eating anything has been very tricky. I’ve had to come to a realisation that almost all of my favourite foods I won’t be able to eat again. I’ve tried some alternatives for pizza and having a gluten and dairy free pizza is usually not the best experience, the crust is usually soggy and sad, and the cheese usually not pleasant tasting. I had the most incredible gluten free and dairy pizza from grain. I didn’t expect to be able to actually have a pizza id enjoy. But it was so good, I wanted to take some home with me.being able to have one of my favourite foods again and for it to taste even better with my adjustments was such an amazing experience. I’m so grateful and you guys have a true gift!

More of a marquee than a restaurant but warm enough. Food excellent with well-stacked, interestingly combined pizzas with a very good base, and a few non-pizza dishes of equal quality.

This is the first time I've ever booked a table and been told in less than an hour that we only had 15 mins left, then when the time came sorry but we had to leave. I hadn't even finished my (not inexpensive) second drink :( This soured the experience. Perhaps it was the fact we'd reserved that caused the issue (wanted a nice experience as we're on our honeymoon and the place seems to have a good reputation); maybe they need to rethink how this works or scrap table reservations altogether? If we'd just walked in (there were empty tables at time of leaving?!) maybe we'd have been given more time. All made a bit worse as the service wasn't very quick, which is fine and understandable when you can see the place is busy, but if we'd known the clock was ticking, not so much!! We had less than an hour from receiving food to being asked to vacate. On a positive, the food was decent and the staff were great. I felt a bit for the chap who asked us to leave as he seemed a bit embarrassed.

Grain deserves to do well. we went on a Saturday evening and the covered 'add on' room was pretty much full with a big group. The lovely, friendly staff who all look like they enjoy working there, explained there could be a wait but it was bang on. Pizzas are very nice, with a few variations we'd not seen before. Wine was good. Probably need to book in the summer.

Tried to eat here on Friday night and we're told food orders stop at 8:30pm but they're open until 10, bit of a shame but it is what it is. Tried again on Sunday evening and we were turned away for a takeaway order. We we're told they don't do takeaway during school holidays, place was fully reserved. Lost out on 9 pizzas (around £100) because they wouldn't put it in a box. Doesn't make much sense to me. Won't be trying again. Gutted because the pizzas smelt amazing

Had dinner here last night. Great Nduja sausage pizza and lovely dark ale (The oaty way). Love the way you can tweak/add to/ remove the pizza toppings to suit your own preferences.

Had food from here this evening and it was definitely the best pizza I have had, the staff very friendly and reasonably priced. Also great atmosphere here will definitely be eating again. Thank you all at Grain

Another great meal at Grain. On our holidays to St David’s, Grain is a regular go to, and never disappoints. Great, friendly service, superb pizzas, and fabulous craft beers. Book to avoid disappointment. Highly recommended.

We stupidly thought they did take out, but didn't think about how busy they would be in the summer holidays. We turned up and were told that if we were willing to wait they could squeeze us in. What a hardship. The beer was brilliant and we sat a chatted to lovely people from the Netherlands, who had sensibly booked ahead. I had three pints of lovely beer and our pizzas arrived. They were very, very good. I will return.

It was a really different restaurant to go to but it did serve an excellent pizza with a good variety of options, the two we ordered were packed with flavour, a good portion size and filled us up nicely. The staff are great, welcoming and are genuinely pleasant to be around. There's no fuss just good down to earth people working in a down to earth restaurant. I would definitely recommend eating here and felt the prices were reasonable for the quality of the meal.

Stayed 3 nights in St David’s and went to Grain twice for evening meal.Both nights were fantastic.I am coeliac and it’s the best pizzas I’ve had since being diagnosed 4 years ago! Great service and great price .Would recommend 100% It gets very busy so make sure you book in advance

Booking online is at best arduous and misleading. Don’t bother calling and leaving a message as they don’t call back plus staff admitted they don’t respond to voicemails . The outside tables can be booked (contrary to the website). Tried twice to book in person and failed and so unaccomadating. We ate elsewhere on both occasions where the staff were helpful and polite. This place seems a little precious

Etwas versteckt findet man dieses sehr einfache Restaurant. Man sitzt auf Bänken, kriegt hölzernes Wegwerfbesteck und eine übersichtliche Speisekarte. Aber der Service ist super, man kann sich selbst mit kostenlosem Wasser bedienen und alle Pizzen sind auch glutenfrei erhältlich. Preislich moderat ist das Lokal eine echte Entdeckung für Pizza-Liebhaber.

Lovely place! Highly recommend. Staff very welcoming and efficient. Food was delicious, best dough balls I’ve ever tasted - I don’t normally eat them, but did at Grain. My hubby and I ate delicious vegan pizzas, whilst my son had the ultracomida which he loved too. Generous with toppings, sides and dips. Will be back before we return home.

Wow... I think it's the best pizza I've ever had! I have to be honest my mushroom pizza had double cheese in it but what experience it was! Oozing with cheese and flavours of wild mushroom. It was heaven. I think they fried the mushrooms before in butter (I might be wrong), because they were full of taste on their own. The chicken pizza was also delicious- at least that's what my husband said. But when you are there try the olives for a starter. They are huge and full of spicy flavour. And the dough balls were hot from the oven served with a homemade garlic butter. What's not to like! Service amazing! Atmosphere great. I would really recommend it. If I had to give a constructive feedback on anything, I wouldn't use plastic for the butter or the dough balls. But that's it really. A small detail.

Only had coffee ☕️ and carrot cake here before we got the bus 🚌 back to St Brides . The staff was friendly the coffee was very nice, and the cake was delicious

Just popped in for a quick bite while on holiday and this was honestly the best pizza I’ve had in years! As a coeliac, it’s very hard to feel comfortable eating out, and with separate ovens for the gluten free pizzas it was incredible! Special mention to Scott who was amazing and reassured us the whole time! Would definitely visit again :)

This was one of the best pizzas I've eaten. Being a big mushroom fan I went for the Fun-ghi pizza, absolutely packed with flavour, loads of mushrooms and sneaky roasted garlic cloves which made the whole flavour incredible, wish i could have eaten 2! I cant recommend this place enough. If you want a chilled atmosphere, really friendly service, good beer and absolutely amazing pizza then this is tte place to go. It gets busy so best to book if you can.

Best pizza in west Wales!! Absolutely delicious food, people are so lovely. Food is served between lunch and dinner hours, we arrived at 4, had a few drinks and told the barman we wanted to stay for food at 5. He brought the menus out to us early so we had first dibs on food and kept our dog topped up with cold water. We'll be back!! 🍕😋👌

i was in st david’s on a little trip and decided to come here as it was advertised as suitable for gluten free and was so impressed!!! on arrival i asked for an allergen menu and was told straight off the bat all of the pizzas could be made gluten free apart from one (the sauce had gluten in) but the guy serving was knowledgeable and talked me through it without having to look at any menu just knew it off the top of his head! the staff were honestly incredible and our server double checked anything they were unsure on! it makes such a difference when the staff genuinely know what they’re talking about and reassured me at every stage! could not recommend more, the food was incredible and my family (not gluten free) said it was one of the best pizzas they’ve ever had! will definitely be returning if im ever back in st david’s! to the staff - you guys were so helpful and knowledgable and filled me with confidence about what i was eating and that it was safe and as someone with an allergy that’s sometimes not the case when eating out! wish i’d said a proper thank you in person!

(2022) My family of 4 ate here today and enjoyed everything. The courtyard is set up well for COVID-19, with covered and and open air eating areas, the undercover seating separated by tarpaulin walls. The food is a good price, the pizzas are delicious and a good size for the price. We will definitely come back here again. Oh, and they have gluten free bases (that I enjoyed very much) and cater for vegetarian and vegan diets, so no one has to feel left out. I highly recommend Grain! (2024) I came back today for the first time in 2 years and the food is just as good as ever. I highly recommend Grain. They've upgraded their seating area and bar, so it's much nicer to eat in cold and wet weather. One suggestion would be for the chefs to use a little less oil on the pizzas - one in my party had to mop the oil up with a napkin before eating. Still, the oil didn't detract from the flavour.

Extremely slow in serving. Had to wait 45mins to get our order. Hot chocolate served was not hot anymore. Liza didn’t have much toppings. I suggest giving specific instructions and have patience to wait😅

It’s like a pop up restaurant in the centre of the town. Pizzas were delicious. I had their blonde beer and my wife had the Tempranillo. Everyone seemed to be having a great time. Lots of interaction. Drinks service could be quicker, but other than that, very good. Recommend you try.

We visited Grain on a wet, cold Sunday in March. As it’s essentially a huge marquee it was a tad chilly inside, even with the big old wasteful electric heaters up above us. I can imagine that on a warm, balmy July evening, with a cold glass of wine, or one of the varied and exciting speciality beers on offer, this would be about as good a place to spend an evening as it’s possible to imagine. And that’s before mentioning the pizza which is so good we ordered two (one each) and then a third as an encore. So this 4 star review reflects our experience but with better weather and a pre-booked table yours will very likely be a solid 5.

A great pizza place. I had vegetarian special- basil and mozzarella and my partner had N’Duja sausage. Friendly staff, range of alcohol and most importantly dog friendly. Recommend you book this place as it gets very busy.

This place is class, probably the best pizza we’ve ever eaten. Great wine and beer. Service was fantastic. Would highly recommend! Loved the rarebit pizza special. The olives were also delicious. We are going back for pork scratchings!

Pizza base is very thin, with a very thick layer of cheap cheese on top. The pizza just tasted greasy and was really heavy on the stomach. We won't be coming back.
