Sunrise Chinese Takeaway in Forest Heath

Ordered the beef lo mein and some appetizers for delivery. Best lo mesón I’ve had around here. Saucy flavorful and the beef was tender. The dumplings were also very tasty.

For 30+ years, always eaten Chinese from Dragon House. Thought I'd have a change and was recommended Sunrise. I will NEVER go back to Dragon House again! Sunrise is soooooo much tastier. Delicius food, decent price And plenty of selection

Used to be the only place I ordered from. Stopped a few months back as the quality had slipped. Gave it another try tonight and will not bother again. King prawns so rubbery they squeaked on my teeth! A piece of broccoli that had a mouldy after taste and beef fried rice very sticky and very dry at the same time! How is that even possible? Shame, as it did do very nice food a couple of years ago.

Best Chinese & Thai food that I have had in a long time

Normally great tasty food. Expensive now. But what food isn’t at the moment. Can be slow with deliveries, have had to call a few times to find out what’s happening with my order. Normally they just say busier than normal, lack of delivery drivers. Never had cold food, but sometimes not piping hot.

Used to rave about this place but last 2 times me and my partner have ordered from here we've been very disappointed. Our meals were really lacking in flavour, meat was dry, barely any sauce in the main meal containers.

I wish I could give zero stars!! We stopped ordering from Sunrise a year ago due to their rude delivery driver lady and I got into it one night because she couldn't follow basic instructions I left on the notes of the order for delivery but we decided to give it another try on Monday night since all the other Chinese places were closed. I noticed while eating the sweet and sour chicken Hong Kong style that it tasted like burnt oil. My husband ordered the chicken Thai green curry dish. Within hours of him finishing his meal, he began to have diarrhea and really bad stomach cramps and within the next 24hrs began to vomit. It's now Friday and he has barely eaten since Monday and is still having diarrhea, nausea, stomach cramps and vomiting. I took him to the A&E yesterday and they suspect salmonella so please be aware when ordering from here, either the chicken was handled very wrong and was cross contaminated or the chicken was undercooked slightly but not enough to notice when eating. We will not be ordering ever again.

Had previously nice meals from here but ordered tonight and quality really bad. Burnt pan must have been used as an entire dish had a burnt taste to it. Really fatty pieces of meat and the ribs had an off flavour to them. Not sure how much faith I have ordering again.

All food was great and came hot! One of the items I ordered was prawn instead of pork I called up and they brang me the pork straight away which was piping hot (had to wait for it to cool down to eat) and man who took my order and sorted the problem was nice and friendly. Usually order from somewhere else in mildenhall for Chinese but the wait was to long yesterday so went with these defo will stick with them from now on.

I have just called the restaurant and told them what I am about to say… I ordered a mixed meat Pad Thai for myself I’d never had one before. My daughter wanted a chicken fried rice and sweet and sour chicken Hong Kong style and chips which she shares with her Dad. I opened the boxes and shared the food out and when I opened the box with the Pad Thai it stayed in a box shape on my plate and was congealed looking it didn’t break up easily. Upon tasting it it only tasted of burnt oil even the red chillies only tasted of burnt oil the meat was really scarce and I found one piece of green pepper that tasted of nothing apart from burnt oil. I’m glad I had a spoonful of my daughters chicken fried rice because I had a couple peas that tasted like they should have done of peas!!!! The guy on the phone offered to pick it up and bring me another but honestly I didn’t want to see another one it was vile and we won’t be using Sunrise again. Although I’ve never had a Pad Thai before I’m pretty sure there should have been meat and the ingredients should have had flavour. Really disappointing and a complete waste of money because my daughters ended up in the bin too she said that was horrible

Wife & I enjoyed the food there. Easy to use on line order menu. They have an expansive menu selection. The Lo Mein was petictularly excellent 👌.

Ordered a special chowmein without prawns but came with prawns in it. Lady collected order and apologised but we then later got a call accusing us of lying. Shocking service.

One of the better takeaway food I've had in a while! I ordered the crispy Vietnamese roll but it didn't come with any dipping sauce (bought separately). It was a little too oily for me and 3 out of the 4 rolls were a little loose. I also had the egg fried rice, chicken lo mein, and the mapo tofu. The lo mein was the star of dinner- so much taste and was still so hot despite this being a delivery order! It was also cooked with onion, spring onion, cabbage, and bean sprouts. Not gonna lie, I've had better tasting mapo tofu, and with less veggies (dont know what kind of this dish had), but they cooked this tofu in a way that I can't taste it and I respect that. I might just toss it back in my own pan and add more black bean and chili garlic sauce to make it tastier. Good to note that most items are a la carte so if you want rice, you'll have to order it separately. Rice is life for me, so I didn't even notice how the egg fried rice tasted. The food was tasty enough for it to not matter. Delivery came earlier than expected too! Will be ordering from here again- thanks!

Well if I could give no stars I would. The prawn crackers were good . Salt and pepper ribs ok. But just put 44 pounds worth of chinese in the bin as possibly the worst chinese we have ever had. They really need to taste their food. Just a tip try putting some ingredients into your fried rice. Don't no what they did to chow mein but was brown in colour a sludgy. Satay is suppose to have a peanut taste. Curry had a green tinge. Please don't waste your money there is a KFC in the same square and I haven't eaten in one of those for 15 years.

Ordered £56 of chinese it has to be the worst chinese I have ever had. Fat dripping off of everything. Prawn toast soggy and wet. I would not recommend anyone to order from here.

I mean...It looked good..... But... The fried rice was literally just rice and didn't taste like anything. The Chow Mein was alright. Sesame chicken was swimming in starchy thick sauce and tasted exactly the same as sweet and sour tofu which was also drowning in thick starchy sauce. The tofu itself was chewy and had barely any flavor to it - I've had it better before. This might be the only place available near Mildenhall which would explain the many great reviews that I don't understand. I'd try their Low Mein...Maybe if I want to disappoint myself again. I'm not convinced enough to order again since it wasn't a great meal. I liked the shrimp chips which would be impossible to mess up.

Amazing tasting food, good value, large portions and friendly staff with efficient service. We had our Chinese food yesterday Friday 30 July 2021 we enjoyed it all, came lovely and hot all tasted delicious, we had the rest for lunch today, we got so many free items of food, I will order again .thank you for a great service.

Since the ownership changed the quality of the food has decreased dramatically. I had heard through friends that sunrise was good but was a bit dubious as you get used to what you know. Well tonight I took the plunge and ordered from Sunrise and it did not disappoint!!! The dishes are reasonable in price and the quality spot on. The serving sizes generous and waiting time about 30 mins. Would definitely recommend to anyone and everyone. Great Job Sunrise!!

Some of the best chow mein I've tasted. We regularly order here now. The food is flavourful freshly cooked, and there's plenty of it.

I didn't eat the huge greasy egg roll. The orange chicken was okay. The fried rice was okay also. I do not think I will return. Although, the service was good during my take out.

Food took 2 and half hours be delivered . Had to call after an hour and a half to get some explanation of why it took so long. They said “oh we’re about to cook your food now and it’ll be out with our next driver”. Other than that food was good

This place gets better every time. The life-journey to find the perfect Chinese takeaway is one we must all take. When that destination is reached one can feel a multitude or emotions, including exultation, satisfaction, solace and pride to name but a few. There are other factors to include in addition to the food itself, such as ease of order, timing, service and cost. Well, Sunrise score 5 out of five for every factor. I don't know how they manage to be so very good yet be one of the cheapest in the area. Can't wait till my next order, to see if it's better even still, although this seems barely possible. Keep up the good work Sunrise.

The chinese food here was nice but the "thai" dishes, thai red curry had the texture of and tasted much more like chinese curry. Such a shame but definitely don't get the thai options here.

We had a recommendation today to try the Sunrise Chinese Takeaway ,so we thought we would! HOW GLAD WE DID! Ordering was really quick and easy. Our meal was delivered hot and on time, and the food was amazing, especially the chow mein. Thoroughly recommended.

Me and my wife ordered about 50 pounds worth of food to be delivered to Icklingham the food was super tasty and very hot the delivery only took 30 minutes and we also received a free dish and free prawncracker

Can’t fault the delivery but, for me at least, this was the blandest Chinese food I have ever tasted. Just ordered £20 worth of food and binned it. Singapore noodles had a bit of kick but zero taste, the Roast pork with spring onion dish was probably the best but not much in the way of flavour. The pork was also very difficult to chew. Kung po chicken was just some chicken in a bland sauce sauce and even the rice was bad. I’ve never had bad egg fried rice before but this was just again very bland. Very disappointed overall. Was my first order since they took over the previous Chinese takeaway and I won’t be ordering again.

we wanted a take aWAY ON 22ND OF FEB, AT 11AM. THEY SAY THEY OPEN , BUT THERE WAS NOBODY ANSWERING THE PHONE, AND NOBODY IN THE SHOP. WHY DO THEY ADVERTISE THESE TIMES. VERY POOR.

My husband and I ordered 2 entree dishes and 2 side dishes. The salt and pepper squid is perfect! Perfectly salted and crispy😍 the Sweet and sour chicken was also pretty good as well. It was definitely what you’d expect when you order sweet and sour chicken. 👍 this place is definitely a place to come back too
