Bull in Forest Heath

Went for a couple of drinks late. First one took a while, but not too bad. Went for a final drink after the bell was called and waited 10 minutes while they served some locals (no big deal, it happens). After standing at the bar for 10 minutes, they told us that the last orders were called 10 minutes ago and they wouldn't serve us. We'd been there the whole time. Won't be going again.

Fab value and atmosphere, tasty food, polite and efficient service - what’s not to like?? Definitely recommended and will be back😸

Has its moments. During the week a pretty quiet affair but can get loud at the weekends with its numerous popular bands. A decent place to check out, depends if you want a quiet night or a night with a band on. Has sports channels which is popular for the footy, cricket and rugby which tend to show the biggest games like finals or a Derby. Decent looking pub grub at a relatively decent price. All the food is cooked to order and is a fantastic range of dishes to try. Staff that are personable and don't treat you like another wallet/purse who will take time to talk to you if possible.

In Newmarket for 3 days racing, ate at the Bull all 3 days,from full English breakfast to 3 small plates to pub classics.Excellent food quality, value for money, friendly staff. Thank you.

We had lunch in the bull a few weeks ago very nice.

Stoped off here for an early drink & breakfast before heading to the races. Had a bacon sandwich for £3.25! Decent fresh bread, decent butter & a generous amount of bacon! 10/10! Standard price for a pink gin & tonic £5.60. Great outdoor area & friendly bar staff. I’d recommend!

Planned to go and eat here on our way through Newmarket, looked nice on the website. Got there and there's a big 'no children' sign next to the front door!? It's a food pub.....with a kids menu!!??

I can't fault the bar staff, they were great and would get a 5 star if it was just them to rate. Our food took nearly an hour to come, a bit long as it was a reduced menu, and it was a bit overcooked, but not bad. What really upset the vibe was some of that staff had issues with some of the customers, it just had a bit of a hostile vibe. I get it was packed out and with the England game on it was a bit stressful, but it could have been handled more tactfully.

Had lunch at The Bull. We ordered 3 meals Chicken Wings and Chips, 2 x Steak with Sweet potatoes,green salad and tomatoes . The food was delicious. The service we received was excellent from both, the waiter and the head Chef. I highly recommend this place .

Very good pub for watching the sport and seves a good pint of Greene King IPA and other ibteresting bitters. Has 3 - 4 screens so you can choose your spot. Bar staff do a very good job and very professional.

Went this evening with friends and had the best fish and chips we’ve ever had. Good vibe, friendly staff. Definitely coming again 🙂

Stopped off for lunch, had scampi, chips and peas and a cheeky pint. Excellent All round. Thank You Guys for Always being cheerful and efficient.

The customer service is absolutely awful. The lady at the bar was extremely rude because of a simple question regarding our order. I would never visit again or recommend to anyone - no customer deserves to be spoken to in that manner. Had to cancel my order of over £100 and leave to a more deserving pub.

Fantastic beer garden. Brilliant for football and live music. Friendly and welcoming staff. Would highly recommend for food. Sunday roasts are the best on town.

The service was terrible. My family and I had to leave. There was an attendant there who yelled at us and basically told us ‘I won’t help you with that , this is not a resturant, do it yourself’.

Very bad customer service with a particular rude lady at the bar. Cancelled my order and left immediately. Never coming back.

Had a great meal here. Lovely helpful barkeeper, great food & drink. Enjoyed the steak & ale pie, katsu chicken, Mac & cheese, and BBQ chicken. Desserts were good too. Recommend if you’re in town or nearby.

Had a breakfast which was amazing value for money with the portion size. Such a nice clean fresh breakfast, this could honestly be for a share breakfast if too much. Highly liked and loved, with nice friendly staff.

A really, surprisingly lovely, quint pub. It's small on the outside and pretty big on the inside. Great service and great food. Many of the locals recommended the food here. A good choice. Chicken thighs with a Tenesse sauce, sweet potato fries, fish & chunky chips, and crispy squid.

Best place for new residents of Newmarket to feel welcome! Also the real ales were what I wanted to drink. The food is great. Sharers are brilliant to eat while watching sports on their televisions.

My wife and I go to the Bull regularly and have always enjoyed the food. Good friendly service. Good portions and well priced. Katsu Chicken burger is a main stat for us but all the options are good. Never made to feel awkward despite not being complete locals and always made to feel valued. Highly recommended.

From the beginning my experience was positive. Called up to book a table for a large party of 16, the man I spoke to was so friendly and warm. On the day of my booking I phoned up to make a modification and again, woman was so lovely over the phone. Upon arrival (which we ended up getting there early), staff were warm and welcoming, and so understanding of the last minute change of time and number of people. They had reserved an entire back section of the pub for us which was lovely. Service was great, with food coming out quickly. The food itself was lovely. Cannot fault at all- would recommend to anyone- for an intimate/cosy meal in a proper traditional pub feeling environment, or even larger part of 10+guests. Really lovely place. Thank you to all of the staff who served us today (on 02/03/2024, sorry I did not catch any names!)

Best pub in town, staff are quality, food is quality and the beer is spot on.

Around 10 of us called in here for a drink before moving on. But stayed due to hearing the entertainment. We all were having a good time singing with female singer. She didn't even stop for a break and played on extra songs after another 20 minutes after her allotted time. She really loved the response from a large group of scousers. Even the locals came to join in the fun. Pub had a great atmosphere and we all enjoyed our stay here.

Very good service. Noisy, but it was a football match on tv. Food, didn't eat but it looked really good.

Slow Food Service. I asked if the server could confirm if there were Nuts in a desert, to be told it was my responsibility to check the menu or app. I responded with I am visually impaired. The fact that you as a business dissmissed I am visually impaired is not aceptable, neither did you offer to support me. Also to add you clearly did not know what was in your food that is being sold to the public. I was told by a lady I believed a customer at the bar “it is my responsibility to check” Having a Nut allergy not very helpful. For reference the beef roast was not very warm. I will not spend money in your pub anymore. Not a good experience!

From Gloucester, just popped in for dinner. Incredibly friendly staff, great pub food and very cozy atmosphere. Will stop by again.

I know it looks like l'm always in a pub, but who cares? I like pubs and this is another one worth going to. Wood paneling, timbers, warm and cosy; lovely !! Plus, of course, good beer and good food

The customer service was excellent from the lady I talked to about the DDS, so I don't like to criticise. Little things like just 2 small onion rings on the plate let things down. It was early in NYE, so maybe that's why. I'll be back for sure.

Sunday roast will not disappoint

Good pints and truly excellent pub food. I had a selection of the "triple" special and they were all brilliant at a decent price. Bar staff were lovely people as well. I will definitely be back!!

The Bull is a favourite pub, with friendly staff. The choice of ales at this time.e of year includes a winter selection and the decorations add to a festive atmosphere.

Booked last minute on the way home from a weekend away. They couldn’t have been more friendly & accommodating given how busy they were! The landlady saved roast dinners for us in case we wanted them as they had sold out. So kind! Food was delicious, really friendly service. Would definitely recommend

Could not have been made more welcome when we dropped in for lunch on a freezing Saturday in December. A really welcoming pub, a fire blazing and the food was terrific. Huge thanks to the lovely staff who made sure we weren't in a draught from the door and then encouraged us back for breakfast. We will definitely return. Thank you.

Col and the team are excellent hosts. Great atmosphere, great food, excellent selections of ales, lagers, wines and other spirits. Plus also we loved the quiz night that's been popularly classed as the best in Newmarket. They even have a cracking line up of entertainment through the month. Even better if you love your footy, horse racing and darts as they regularly display that every time I come in.

Had a lovely lunch here with my husband the staff are very friendly and very helpful,the décor had a nice oldie worldy feel to it and a nice patio garden. The food was very good I had a toasted cheese sandwich which came with a dressed salad and I had a side of chips all were nicely cooked and nice and hot, will definitely be going back when I'm next in the area.

Not only was the ambiance is beautiful but the service was great. If you come during breakfast, come on a Sunday and order the Full English Breakfast. It’s very delicious.

The Bull Newmarket is the best Pub in town to us Dutchies. Great food, and I mean great, not your average English pub foodies. Lovely ambiance, atmosphere and service. Watching the races or other sports on the many sceens in the pub or in the spacious backyard, having a drink, a bite, live music etc. When on holiday our fav pub!
