Always a pleasure to get a takeaway or dine in here - the service is excellent, the staff are attentive, and the owner genuinely cares. It's always a tough choice between the jalfrezi & or the madras. Whatever you go for, it won't let you down!

Visited on 17/04/25. Ordered a takeaway and paid with cash. We didn't have to wait long. My wife and I enjoyed our food - Chicken Vindaloo, Chicken Boona with 2x Pilau Rice - all large portions. Got a free Poppadom thrown in. We also got a 15% price reduction for spending over £20. If this is representative of the quality of food & service here, then I would imagine that everything else will be delicious. Highly recommend.

Take away ordered online. I arrived earlier than time given. Staff friendly and the place was packed Saturday night. Staff informed me my order would be a, few minutes or so. Regardless of the wait staff attentive to me as, well as A very busy restaurant. Food was great as always starters and main, plenty of food tasty deffo will return

Went for an impromptu curry here last night with my husband and had the most wonderful meal. Everything was so fresh and tasty and the best thing was that there was no grease. I had king prawn saag and Mike had the chicken jalfrezi and they actually tasted healthy - like one of my slimming world curries but just 100 times more tasty! As others have said, the restaurant is cosy and welcoming with really friendly staff. We had been here once before and really enjoyed it but last night's experience has put the Sunam firmly in top spot as our favorite Indian restaurant and as we have recently moved close by I think we will be there again soon!

Ordered a takeaway food was lovely. Best we've had in the area so far. Lovely flavour in our madras curry and nice n hot. Garlic onion rice was lovely too.

Family of 6 on news years eve. Unfortunately the quality of the meals served was well below usual standards. All the curries tasted the same ! Two were served cold and had to be reheated. Waited for over an hour and a half. Personally I feel that it was unrealistic to think that the restaurant staff/ chefs could cope with a full service and the added pressure of extra take-aways on such a busy night. Won’t be returning anytime soon.

Food arrived missing items rang the restaurant to which their reply was "can you come get them" otherwise youll have to wait for the delivery driver to come back. Missing items never arrived. Food was average and very watery our plates was swimming in water, to the point i had to pour it away in the sink.

There are 3 Indian restaurants on redbank road this is the best Food cooked to order and some interesting unusual things

Went on Christmas night really busy nice food and atmosphere until the bill arrived £78 for a tandoori main and a mushroom omelette 1 cobra 1 orange juice. When I queried the bill I was told there was a £30 table surcharge because it was Christmas well maybe inform your customers of this ridiculous over charging at the time of booking

Went last night for my husbands birthday meal, we usually go on our own for a date night but this time we took our 3 children. Food is amazing, Staff are amazing and the atmosphere is amazing. They made my husband feel extra special, we had a great night, thank you so much x

A real jewel of a restaurant. Food is cooked hot, spiced to order and very well presented. Drinks are average prices for the area. My only comment would be for them to get a new service trolley or atleast properly clean and wash the existing one as it is dirty and puts you off your food!!

We've been to dine at Sunam three times and always excellent food and service, one visit for a birthday and was made to feel special with a birthday cake...thanks guys 😊 Sunam is well worth five stars. We've also had takeaway from Sunam and the food and service has been the same five stars. We will be dining at Sunam again 👍

Wasn't expecting much at first but was blown away by how tasty the curries were. The environment was very cozy and the staff were attentive. Will be coming back every time we are in the area.

The food was exceptional. Every dish was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The ingredients tasted high-quality, and the chef’s skill was evident in how well everything was cooked and seasoned. The service was outstanding. The staff was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. They made great recommendations and ensured that everything was just right throughout the meal. Although, butterchicken could be less sweet. Overall, good.

Had gone to visit Blackpool with my family and after a nice day out had found this place to dine at. After visiting, I hoped I had found this place much earlier. From the food, to the service and friendly manner of the staff. Everything was perfect. The curries were extremely delicious, the staff were friendly and checked up on us to make sure everything was ok and if we needed anything else. If you do come down to Blackpool, then this is 100% a place to come down and eat at. Will be coming here myself again very soon.

Went here a few days ago with a large group as we were looking for a restauraunt while we were visiting Blackpool. This place did not disappoint, everything was amazing from the curries to the service, I could not fault it. I would recomend the lamb karahi and their cheesy naans. Definitely coming back here next time we visit. For anyone thats going to the beach or the theme park i'd recommend coming here to eat.

A restaurant with a cozy and inviting atmosphere. Fantastic food and service. Will absolutely be back for more. If you're in the area I'd recommend coming here, it will not disappoint.

During a recent trip to Blackpool, we discovered this fantastic restaurant and were thoroughly impressed. The curries were absolutely delicious, and the staff provided excellent service, making sure we had everything we needed. If you’re visiting Blackpool, whether for the beach or the theme park, this place is definitely worth a stop. We’ll be returning on our next visit for sure!

The food was ok - overcooked chicken but the curry itself was nice. The service was slow and it was difficult to attract the attention of a waiter for drinks etc. I was quite surprised when I was stood at the bar when I watched a waiter rinse dirty glasses in cold water with no detergent and proceed to dry them. No doubt the manager will comment after this review but I have no reason to lie. I won’t be returning.

Having been a long standing customer at Sunam I booked an impromptu visit. The worst experience I have had. Most of staff were very pleasant, but one waiter clearly had an attitude! Very curt and sharp with his retorts. We ordered drinks, lovely staff. Ordered meal, starters came , garlic mushrooms for a change, tinned mushrooms, like rubber and slimy however then I found a sharp piece of plastic in them, called said waiter, asking very sharply ‘where’ ‘ where’, I was offered another starter, ‘no thank you’ then the main came. I ordered chicken biriani, the chicken ( three piece) was very hard and dry It also came with a very thin one egg omelette! Spread over the top all fatty and greasy, the meal came with vegetable curry with lots of swede! I also ordered some spiced potatoes. These came barely warm, but as I’m sure most people know who eat potatoes regularly, would recognise old ones that tasted like yesterday’s potatoes just barely put together. I have to say owner/ manager! Did come and apologise for the plastic in mushrooms and knocked it off the bill, and I did not complain about the rest and make a scene spoiling others in the restaurants night. Extremely disappointed, will not go back or recommend.

The food here is very nice and has a varied menu with a good vegetarian choice. Staff are very pleasant and attentive for any queries you have. The cost wasn't expensive and for 2 of us we had dips and poppadoms, main meal, rice, chips and naans, and 2 non alcoholic drinks for £23 each.

The food was mid but the fat waiter kept on eating chips he asked for some of my food then death stared me down while licking his lips. He even blew a kiss at me.

Ordered £40 worth of food. Took over 1.5 hours to be delivered. Called several times to be told lies. "2mins away" "5mins away". Arrived cold, missing part of the order. Called again! To be told "will sort you out next time". Argued with the apparent manager, got no where. I would advise to avoid this indian.

What a beautiful dining experience staff were friendly helpful and polite the food was absolutely fantastic nothing went to waste I would highly recommend this restaurant such an enjoying evening will be back and recommending to my guests from my hotel in Blackpool.....Robin Wright clarron House

My hubby and 2 of our friends had an impromptu evening in Bispham. The Sunam did not disappoint! They fit us in, even though we hadn't booked...we will do in future! The food, atmosphere and service were amazing. We will definitely be back. Thank you for making our night exceptional!

We have ordered Tarka Dal- which is watery Vegetable curry - made with cabbage Egg Fried Rice- made with hardly 1 egg Veg Fried Rice - again made with cabbage Overall - if someone wants to try Indian food in Blackpool, then please think twice to order from this restaurant.

We booked as a party of 6 to celebrate a 90th birthday and we couldn’t have chosen anywhere better. The food was excellent (as always) and all the staff were so welcoming, kind and attentive. Highly recommended.

Save your money, we’re from Birmingham so know how Indian food tastes as it’s our favourite, this place is vile worse ever.. watered down curry and burger cheese slices on the naan bread.. never had anything like it and the staff am more weird than the place it’s self

I meant to post this in December but completely forgot. We arranged a takeaway for Christmas Day to try something a little different (we had a traditional Christmas lunch the next day). Pick up was quick & efficient. The staff very friendly even though they were very busy. They’d even put in a free bottle of wine, thank you very much. The food was lovely, very tasty & hot when it arrived. I also have food warming trays so it remained that way. Will definitely use them again but I would say they could put more information on their Facebook page about what they offer over Christmas & their revised opening times because the information wasn’t readily available & a few phone calls were necessary.

Food was amazing, maybe biast as first time at a proper Indian restaurant but still !!! the food was amazing and I even tried the spicy food even though I couldn't eat spice before but absolutely loved this place.

Only god knows how this restaurant is rated 4 stars. After reading through some of the “good” reviews, it’s clear to see that they are paid. I don’t know why Google doesn’t do anything about them. As tourists to the city, I a dinner here seemed reasonable looking at the reviews. Unfortunately, the Butter Chicken and the Biryani were inedible and disgusting. Furthermore, there were obvious hygiene issues in the restaurant e.g unclean cutlery and dirty handkerchiefs. DO NOT GO HERE! IT IS BETTER TO GO HUNGRY THAN EAT HERE!!

Horrible food. Made we want to vomit. Scammed us by charging us for tap water even though it was free. DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU ARE COMING FROM OUTSIDE OF BLACKPOOL! You will be thoroughly disappointed and your night will be ruined. Worst mistake of our trip was to go here.

Slow slow service 2hrs for main course we had to wait

I feel so very lucky to have a fantastic restaurant within walking distance. The food and service are second to none, and the price is very competitive. It's always a pleasure to dine here.

I've only ever ordered out and only chicken tikka so my experience is limited but it's one of the best Indians I've had in the area and highly recommended.

Our friends took us for a night out here. The place is just wonderful. Friendliest staff! Very quick service. Really great food!! The ooonly downside.. the lighting is very dark there. I hugely recommend this restaurant! I predict that we will be going back more than once

This is a really nice place... I'm on holiday in Blackpool for a week and this is my second time In this restaurant. I found the food to be absolutely delicious... And the service was pretty good too!! .... The boss (Gulam) came over to ask if we where OK.. Which I felt was a nice touch to the service... Thank you... Sure to visit again in the future.

Whilst the food was of a reasonably good standard the amount of chicken in the meal was not of the amount you would expect, I would go as far to say that there was not even one chicken breast in total for the two meals we ordered. The wait between starter and main was incredibly long to the point we were starting to think they had lost the order. On the whole reasonably priced, service slow, flat coke would we go again ? Probably not

Nice food. Shame you ha e to have a rice and a nann as part of a package on the menu but it is what it is.

We visited whilst on holiday, lovely staff, excellent food with good sized portions. The toilets were clean and looked after. If we visit Blackpool again, we will definitely be back.

We visited twice during a holiday to Blackpool. The first time as a couple and the second time as a family. There are offers in place throughout the week and this means you get excellent value for money. The food is tasty and fresh, the atmosphere was good and relaxed and the staff where all very pleasant. I would highly recommend a visit here if you are in the area.

I’ve ordered 3 portion of chicken curry ,way to sweet as we were 3 friends and it was different taste and different colours, we were so confused so we decided to taste each of them , after 1 bite had to take pictures of it and throw it in bin as they been putting soda in it , thought to go back to the restaurant but it was to late as it was closed at 11 pm ,wish I could upload pic of each of them to prove how it looks like , will not recommend anyone to try the chicken as was blend

Ate here for the 1st time today Absolutely amazing. The food was really delicious. Fresh crisp popadums. The mixed kebab was amazing and the onion bhajees were perfectly made and cooked. Highly recommended and excellent value. Super friendly staff and very clean.

Just went in for a meal decided for a take away meat like billets and not a kahari. Greasy starter very poor

Really did not enjoy our meal. Starter was tasteless and not what we asked the waiter for. The lamb karahi was shocking with giant cut vegetables (as in photo). Lucky, if it had 7 pieces of lamb. The chicken balti was more like a korma in both colour and taste. The Pilau rice was basically boiled rice. The best thing was the nan bread, which I suspect they bought in . Never again . Complete waste of money, and when we me mentioned our disappointment to the waiter, it was just dismissed with a comment of " That's the way we do it"

This is a definite must if you are in or even near Blackpool.Very good food.
