Sultan Sofrasi Restaurant Gravesend in Gravesham

We went at the weekend for my 14 year old grandson's birthday. Our first time but definitely not our last as the food was cooked and presented to perfection. Lots of choices on the menu. the staff were friendly, professional and so lovely. We all chose something different from the menu and all agreed we would be returning soon to try more.

We are regular customers, and we feel like in a family here. All the staff are welcoming and the food is excellent. I would like to recommend the young waitress, brown hair ..sorry I am not good with names!!

I will definitely return ! The staff and waiters were absolutely excellent ! Food was great and the ambiance was pleasurable.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant and I must say that the food was absolutely amazing. Our waitress, Patrycja, provided exceptional service and took wonderful care of our group. Despite being in a large group, everything was served on time and we felt well taken care of throughout the evening.

We were celebrating a friends birthday. The staff made the evening special. The food and service were amazing. By far the best restaurant in Gravesend !!! Special thanks go to Patrycja, Michael, Jonny, Mustafa and Ricky for looking after us so well. We will be back again soon

Great food & plenty of it! A big thank you to Michael, our ⭐ waiter, for advising their marinades contain butter, which would have had dire consequences on my partner, who is lactose intolerant. 👍

We are pretty much regulars now and for our anniversary lunch, we and our friends were not disappointed. The food was as lovely as it has been every time we visit.

My Son moved to Gravesend recently. We decided to visit him and take him out to Dinner. We chose to go to the Sultan Sophia, on the edge of the high street. What a good choice. Great staff, who could not do enough for you. Food cooked to perfection and such a wonderful atmosphere. We were looked after by Jonny and other staff. The service was the best. We will return soon. I only wish we had a restaurant so good near us, so we could get a takeaway.

I came to Sultan Sofrasi on Saturday evening with my wife for a late valentines meal. The service was phenomenal and waiters were very attentive, especially Ricky. We had a really nice meal and amazing cocktails too. We asked for spicy margaritas and shen made them perfectly. We will definitely be returning here with friends and will recommend this little gem to everyone!

Had the most bizarre interaction with this establishment yesterday. I went in for a cheeky catch up meal with my GF last night around 8pm. The food was excellent and it was quiet busy for a Wednesday. Which is always a good sign. The only slight mishap was being given a drink for the next table. Easy remedy. I told the waitress who laughed and walked away. Leaving the drink. Strange, maybe she didn't hear me, I thought. Called her back and she stared at me...and eventually took the drink to it's rightful and thirsty owner. No biggi and no rudeness from me or her. I only mention this as it may be important for the next strange interaction. After the meal I waited patiently to pay. I tried to catch the serving staffs attention without being rude. As the place emptied out, leaving just one couple and us...20 minutes had passed. I said maybe my GF should head out to the car to drop a hint that we wanted to leave. My waving each time they passed me was ignored by staff doing nothing but go back into a group, chatting away and ignoring me. Soon it was just me in there...everyone but me and staff in a group chatting away. I was going to get up and approach them after another 15 minutes of gentle waving and the odd.' Excuse me!' Then a single female customer enters and asked to be seated. She was informed that they close in 40 minutes and seated next to me. I took my chance and asked for my bill. 30+ minutes after finishing our meal. The bill was placed on my table and the staffed walked off and back to her chatting with the other staff. The chef and kitchen staff then stood staring through the glass at me as I sat there for another maybe 20 minutes? (It seemed longer.)I tried numerous times to get her back, so I could pay and leave. Totally ignored. Short of getting up and taking my bill to them I didn't know what to do. My GF came back, bored of sitting in the car. We eventually physically asked to pay...50 minutes of sitting patiently and signals hadn't worked. So strange! I'm sure that I wasn't rude to anybody . (Not that you should treat anyone this way.) They even gave us a cheerful goodbye as we left. Did they not realise I was trying to pay for so long and it soured the whole experience? No one else waited 50.minutes to pay. With no one else in there, they couldn't have missed me. I don't think I'll be rushing back there. Shame! The experience really put me off. First impression was great but spoiled by the last impression.

Our second time visiting within a couple of weeks. This time we took our son who has a severe sesame allergy. The food was again excellent and a fantastic atmosphere. A big thank you to Gabby who was extremely attentive, professional and diligent when it came to the allergy. She ensured my son received the correct safe foods after another member of staff had place an incorrect plate of food in front of him. Thanks again Gabby and whatever they are paying you it’s not enough.

I don't normally write reviews but I went to Sultan Safrasi this evening and had such a wonderful evening. Our waitress Patrycia was very nice, attentive and generally made our evening e Special. Also the bar staff Seniz was great. I would definitely recommend this restaurant as the food is fresh and very tasty. A++++++++++

Wow time after time another visit completed and the place just gets better the staff are very friendly, the food is outstanding highly recommended.

Everything was absolutely fine. We ordered a takeaway for collection, unfortunately, we were late to pick it up on-time, so the food became cold. When we reach here to collect the order, one young guy with white shirt politely requested me to wait like 20mins as they are gonna prepare the order again. No debate, it was really a good care of their customer.

Ordering a food from them every week. Today we’ve ordered again - same dish as always and didn’t get the rice which is always on it. The rude lady on the phone tried to convince me they never serving this dish with the rice , so maybe I’m mad and I’ve just thought I was getting the rice. Also when she hasn’t more arguments she tried to convince me I raising my voice on her. Pathetic move. On the Uber app it’s clearly this dish is served with rice. Awful customer service and the food wasn’t nice this time . Not recommend.

Food was great as always but service - absolutely shocking. Asked 3 times for glass of water, Waiters stretching over half table (with ponytail in our drinks), ignoring. No ice cream and other desserts although on menu and no decaf coffee either. Would not planning of going back soon.

Have been here a few times now …food is quality …but booked the table 5 days before and wasn’t told about the Xmas menu and which works out more expensive…and when we finished our meal the bill was dropped on the table about 4 mins later without even asking if we wanted dessert…and was told they needed the table back…disgusted really and won’t be going back anytime soon

Being asked every 2 minutes if we're ready to order isn't relaxing. We had to say twice that we would let them know when we would be ready. Mains came out seconds after they cleared the starters away and the meat wasn't great, it was very oily. Not somewhere we will return

Not our first visit, as we make a point of eating here if we’re having a meal in Gravesend before going to see live music. The food is always lovely, we haven’t had a bad meal here and the portions are generous. We always forget and still order too much. A great menu, that has more variety than a similar restaurant near me in Essex. It’s always worth booking, as the restaurant does get busy. We will be back soon!

Delicious traditional Turkish food served beautifully by lovely staff

We attended on a Friday night, we had an amazing night at Sultan Sofrasi, the food was outstanding, the best meal platter I've ever had. The music was really nice and a beautiful atmosphere. All the staff were wonderful and I have to say Fad’s is the best host I've ever come across and went give and beyond for us. Thank you for making my birthday so special! I'll be back soon!

It’s very little food on the plate and the prices are unbelievable , very expensive and you leave hungry the place! I payed like £60 for what we eaten and I was still hungry. I this the price is not good and trust me I live in London I always eat Gokyuzu and places like that, if the food is good and generous I will pay even more!!! I m only writing this review because my friends are also complaining about abusing the costumers buy over charging them! The food is good but is very small portions and too expensive!

Loved the Lahmacun and Kofte kebab here. Nice staff and very modern restaraunt. Only thing was very loud, no fault of the restaraunt, just probably because it was a Friday night.

Birthday dinner. Food is amazing... had liver calamari wings for starters and mains was amb chops and ribs... very tasty and tender. Good service and attentive waiters. Will highly recommend and definitely return with the little ones.

Mum and I had a lovely time. Our first time here; chose it due to all the good reviews. The food, decor and service were great! It was a shame the bread and dips weren’t free like in most Turkish restaurants but no biggie. Cocktails and mocktails were just as lovely. Great cuts of meat too - butcher quality and fresh. We had the tarama, lamb ribs and lamb chops. I’ll defo return here

I had a really good time here with my mum. It was fairly quiet as it was around 2pm on a Sunday. Still a great ambience. The restaurant is clean, great decor too and the waiters and waitresses are attentive. Perfect customer service, and really appreciated the fact that they gladly changed our drink (when the incorrect one came out) and gave me rice complimentary due to a miscommunication with my food order. I think that's what definitely made a difference to our experience. It's a restaurant my mum had discovered shortly before and brought me here for lunch / dinner. Very filling meals and didn't eat another thing all evening! Myself and my mum both opted for the same dish, one of us had chicken the other lamb, we had Iskender (restaurant specials). The bread appetizers with dips are so yum. Warm and really tasty. Prices are decent, a meal and drink each was around £23. I don't live in Gravesend, but definitely will be back at some point!

Second visit to this restaurant and very disappointed . From the moment I entered the restaurant the maitre d or manager type person wasn't helpful had to say name if reservation 3 times he just said how many I explained numbers had changed was shown...

1st and last time visiting here. Appalling service from the staff. Had to get up and go to the bar to order drinks as no one came near or by the table once our initial food and drink order arrived. Food wasn't any better than most local kebab takeaways in my opinion, and was a little dry. The chicken wings were bland too. And to top off a bad experience, they gave us the bill for another table and cited staffing issues for the poor service.
