Bartellas in Gravesham

This was my first visit to Bartellas , we were in a group of 5 it was a birthday celebration of my friend , the service was excellent all the waiting staff work so hard ! , the young waiter that attended to us was such a friendly guy and good at his job , to be fair we did have to wait quite a long time for our mains and later we were all offered a complimentary drink because of this which most of us declined as some had drank enough but it was very appreciated . When our sweet was served the same waiter brought an extra plate with an ice cream and happy birthday written on the plate ! What a lovely gesture the person whose birthday it was suspected one of us had told the waiter but none of us did ! a really nice touch , we will most definitely pay another visit to Bartellas Kind regards Kevin

Our first time here but definitely not the last. From the moment we entered, we were greeted with smiles and friendly staff. We enjoyed a comfortable pre-drink in the bar area. The food ... just wow.... crayfish & prawn cocktail was fresh and delicious. The Leek & Mushroom Wellington was out of this world! We were served with polite & friendly & descreet staff. We returned to the bar area and was in awe of the professional bar staff who interacted whilst creating tantalising cocktails. A definite 5 🌟. Recommend 100%

This restaurant is a gem. You can tell that the owner puts so much effort and pride into the business. The food and drinks are great quality and atmosphere is always so welcoming. I can’t recommend this restaurant highly enough.

Had a fabulous family meal , the food was lovely and the service was 1st class , 3 of us had roast dinners and it was delicious , the beef was melt in the mouth , homemade yorkies and plenty of fresh vegetables and tasty rich gravy couldn’t fault it . We will definitely be returning.

First visit to Meopham restaurant. Very pleased. Food was excellent. Only gripes were it was quite noisy & the wine for the price was very disappointing. Having said that we would definitely go back but maybe not on a Friday evening

A superb lunch with my daughter. We were warmly welcomed & the service and food we ate was so very well presented, and extremely tasty.

We have just had a delicious meal here. There is ample parking and well signposted. A good ambience on arrival. The staff were attentive and swift with our service. The food was tender and tastefully served. My Weiner Schnitzel was tasty and the dessert of Baileys cream filled profiteroles was just perfect. Thank you and will certainly come again.

Can’t rate highly enough. Excellent food service and having had very elderly parents with us they couldn’t assist us enough. Will be back again soon.

This is a lovely big restaurant and very friendly. Me and my dad enjoyed every morsel of food that went into our mouths. I had the duck it was so tender and fell from the bone. We will return

This is the most delicious lunch out I've had for a long time. Great choice on menu (vegan menu too) attractively presented, attentive professional waitors, a peaceful environment. We thoroughly enjoyed it and look forward to going back.

Wonderful restaurant, great food and service.

Everything about this restaurant is impressive. The staff are so professional and efficient - service was faultless. An amazing menu and the food delicious. The restaurant decor is so light and has a lovely warm atmosphere. I would without a doubt recommend a visit.

Although it was fully booked and understandable it was a little bit hotter inside that was comfortable but despite this it was an absolutely fabulous dining experience. The services was impeccable and food was excellent

We went along for another Sunday lunch at our local restaurant, to find them extremely busy, it would seem that they were 'catering' for a wedding, at least two birthday parties, and a whole host of us usual's looking to feed our face with that national treasure, a Sunday Lunch ! it was that busy, that Bartella's have tables set up in Bar. not only did they take it all in their stride, the food was as excellent as usual, staff as friendly as always, and we did notice that whenever a member of staff returned to the main dining area, they all immediately surveyed all of the cover to see if anybody was looking for attention. the whole operation was a credit to first class training, well done Ian and all of you at our wonderful "Local Restaurant".

Really pleasantly surprised. First time visiting. Considering it was very busy with large table covers we were looked after so well. Food and service were fab. We tried a real mixture from the menu and everyone was happy. The pizzas are a must! Very good value for money ….. Bartella keep doing what you’re doing. Your staff are an asset to you

A very nice restaurant in Meopham village, friendly welcome by the manager and the meal was excellent. We were a birthday group coming for a meal - the menu choice was excellent and caters for all tastes. My choice was liver and bacon and was perfect. We all enjoyed the atmosphere and definitely recommend this restaurant.

Perfect evening at Bartellas celebrating with my husband. From the moment we arrived at the restaurant we were seen to promptly and had our coats taken to cloak room. Lovely waiter see us to our table and was very helpful with menu choices. Starters of Prawns did not disappoint and nice length of time between courses. The biscoff cheese cake was one of the best I've had. We will definitely be visiting again

Absolutely fantastic service and delicious food. Very generous portions on most of the dishes and the kitchen made something for one of our party that no longer was on the menu. 2nd visit and have already booked the third one. Highly recommend for ambience, decor, food and service. Fantastic detail for birthday man as well. Thank you to our waiter, he was brilliant!

We were seated quickly and our friend was already at the table. He had a menu and a drink but we didn't know who our waiter was and we needed to ask for 2 more menus and it was really difficult to get the attention of any waiter, so between 3 of us, we shared 1 menu. We waited quite long time before being asked if we wanted drinks. The free bread and garlic mayo was delicious. I ordered the Quatrro formaggi 'filled' mushrooms but what i got was very disappointing. There were 2 very thin slices of mushrooms with blu cheese cream over the top with some garnish. The word 'filled' is misleading and is not what i would use to describe this dish. When the waiter took our plates away, he failed to ask if everything was OK with our starters. I therefore asked why they weren't filled and he said they were in a blu cheese sauce, clearly not filled with anything. He just apologised and left it at that. Mains were again disappointing, the chicken was very thin like it had been hammered too much and the prosciutto was just sitting on top rather than wrapped around the chicken like I would have expected. The potatoes were lovely, as was the creamed spinach and garlic bread with cheese, however the quarters were stacked on top of each other and ended up stuck together. The tiramisu was average, the strawberry flavour doesn't work. The Biscoff cheesecake was good, as was the brownie, however part of the parchment cooking paper was left on it. In all fairness, this was taken off the bill. The carpark is inadequate, the spaces are too tight and there were some very inconsiderate car drivers. We ended up parking on the main road. I don't think I would eat here again.

Excellent service and food will be going back

Wonderful lunch with the family to celebrate my 70th birthday. Held in the salon private room, 22 of us enjoyed a great afternoon that went on till the early evening. Pre-arranged a 3 course menu which had lots of choices for the adults and the children choose from the kids menu. Food and service was excellent from when we arrived until we drank the last bottle of wine and called our cab. Special thanks to Millie and her colleagues that looked after us on the day and to Ian, Elliott, Aaron for their help in making it such a great occasion.

We came for my birthday lunch and had a wonderful time. The food was very good and the service was fantastic, can't remember our waiters' name but he made our visit memorable!! he brought out a candle with my dessert and all of the diners sang Happy Birthday...really nice touch. we came in today 31st January st 12:30. booked under my name Steve Burey. 10/10 this was our 2nd visit and it won't be our last! .

Fantastic afternoon for a family and friends hen party. Excellent service, wonderful food and really friendly atmosphere and special thanks to Salvatore who looked after us from start to finish ensuring we had a fun, relaxed and enjoyable experience. Lovely memories were made.

Whilst we were a large group (18), it was very disappointing to be told we couldn’t have a drink at the bar but had to go straight to the table (as I understand it, the maitre’d offered to carry people away over his shoulder if we didn’t sit down). So not off to a great start and the set menu was very disappointing. Especially for £35 a head! When I asked if it was possible for a couple of people to choose from the a la carte, the maitre’d gave a lengthy and ‘assertive’ explanation as to why he couldn’t possibly cater for that with all the covers in the restaurant and another large party upstairs. I really was only asking for one or 2 of our party. The response was somewhat disproportionate to the question and clearly agitated him. The food was ok. But I can’t get any more enthusiastic than that. For a place we have enjoyed many times, I can’t help but feel they are overstretching their capacity.

Bartellas never lets us down. One of the few restaurants open and running well on NY Day we were greeted instantly as usual, and also welcomed by a roaring fire and beautiful Christmas decorations. The staff here are just the absolute best, beating many London restaurants with their attention and professionalism. The food was good and came swiftly and the cocktails are very reasonably priced. Absolutely loved the Lavendar Posset with Honeycomb dessert. We only manage to get here twice a year, due to distance, but do so every year. For special occasions it is a must.

We have been to Bartellas on many occasions and I can't praise the place enough. We went tonight for dinner, always doubtful it can live up to our previous visits... how ever it didn't disappoint (as always!) The front of house chap (possibly Ian?) was as friendly and attentive as you could wish for and then the waiting staff took over. The restaurant was full but there was plenty of staff available. They were very observant checking on all the tables as they passed. The food is beautiful and delicious. My only criticism would be that the faux candles need a battery change but that's it!!! Certainly not a deal breaker in anyone's book. Check it out.... you won't regret it.

Have been coming here for a number of years now. Came for New Years Day. The staff and service are amazing, they really do make you feel so welcome and valued. The cocktails are very good with a great selection to choose from. You aren’t rushed at all which is 10/10 for me. The restaurant itself is very nice and toilets are spotless. Unfortunately there were two things that let this particular visit down slightly (for me) which was the food and ambiance. A prawn cocktail is a very standard starter and so for a restaurant like Bartellas you would expect it to be the best here. Unfortunately the prawns were like tiny shrimp, the sauce was quite bland and they were just scattered on top of some dark green leaves. Also, something crunchy was scattered over the top? For mains I ordered the rack of lamb but for £29 it was a bit disappointing. It came with the tiniest spoonful of mash and a literal scattering of peas. For £29 I expected better accompanying vegetables and at least enough mash just to last as long as the lamb. Also, both the starter and main appeared to have excessive amount's of red paprika? scattered all over them for decoration. We were a fairly large group ourselves including four children, but the noise coming from the table behind us was simply too much. iPads on full volume playing music loud throughout dinner was not enjoyable for us. Not the restaurants fault but just something to note. Food definitely needs improvement, however, everything else was perfection.

My 66th birthday, table for 4, star ter scallops, very tender, lovely sauce, main cod loin beautiful! Wife had steak, perfectly cooked and well presented! Thanks Elliot great service, just what I needed! Sad to say it is probably our last time as we move 200miles North in February.... Cheers all.

For the price food was average, what you're really paying for is excellent service and being made to feel special by the staff in a beautiful atmosphere but you pay for it!

What an amazing fabulous night! Every bit was just perfect- a wonderful welcome, beautifully decorated, fantastic professional service and, as usual, gorgeous food. It was just magical - lots of dancing and oudles of champagne! A huge thank you to everyone for such a superb night.

Came here on Christmas Eve and had a disappointing meal, I would probably not come here again. The pizzas were no better than frozen ones I could get at my local supermarket, with almost no cheese or toppings to speak of. It was pretty much just gummy tomato bread. The burgers were also a bit dry and so 3 of our party did not finish our meals. The restaurant itself is clean and pleasant, and the service was very good, its just a shame about the food

Dined at Bartellas Saturday evening with family. Was disappointing that we didn't realise we could have ordered from the a la carte menu until after we'd eaten. When we arrived and were shown to our table there were Christmas Party menus at each place setting. Unfortunately we didn't notice at the very bottom of the menu we could have asked for the a la carte menu if we were a party of less than 10, which we were. It would have been helpful if the waitress had pointed out this was an option. I ordered prawns in white wine and tomato for starters and the cod loin for main. Although both were tasty the portions were quite small. I don’t eat much usually but even I still felt hungry after and so ordered the Christmas pudding. Disappointingly the pudding was quite dry and hard. Other desserts ordered by our group did look delicious. My husband's turkey meal was much bigger and there was plenty of turkey. The staff were very efficient and polite, we didn't have to wait long for meals or drinks despite the restaurant being very busy. Its an attractive restaurant with a good atmosphere. Have only eaten there once before for Sunday lunch a year ago. Again very busy. We will return at some point to try the a la carte menu as it does look appetising.

Been to Bartellas a few times now it’s lovely and local for us the service is always outstanding and so is the atmosphere but sadly we were disappointed in the food this time . My husband had the duck starter but to be honest there was not really much duck inside. He then had liver for main he always has this as it’s normally a good size that satisfies his appetite but sadly the portion has become smaller so he was left hungry. It’s not a cheap restaurant we knew that but come on improve your portions otherwise your reputation will suffer and that’s not what we want.

Amazing food and for myself being Gluten & Dairy free they had a separate menu with a good variety of meals. So nice to eat out & not worry about my allergies. The rest of the group throughly enjoyed their meal too. Service was amazing 🤩

We arrived at Bartellas to find good parking next to the restaurant. The restaurant is quite big but the tables aren't crowded in on one another lending itself to some privacy. Both the drinks menu and the food menu have a range which will suit...

This place is my favourite and by far one of the best restaurants in the country. They have a lovely variety of soul nourishing dishes and the service is always on point. They cater well for allergies and the portion sizes are perfect. Thank you Bartellas for always keeping up a consistent quality of food and service.

We came for lunch today at Bartellas for my mother’s birthday. We have been here a number of times before but particularly today the food and the service was excellent. Salvatori, our waiter made all of the difference we shall be back.

They put us into a private room for a family birthday party, great, friendly service and reasonable prices.... been a while since we were last there, but service and food quality still high. Great choices on the menu and cater well for the children too.... recommended!

After visiting Bartellas for several years, we decided to host the wake of a family member here. We booked a couple of weeks in advance and were told it would be no problem. 4 days before the funeral, they called to cancel, giving no reason...

This was a recommendation by a friend and was not disappointed. A new great find and will visit again soon.

I had a steamed pudding fir desert . Was very disappointed with the amount of custard served on the desert. I wouldn't be exaggerating when I say it couldn't gave been any mire than one dessertspoon full. I asked if I could gave some more, alll I got was another desert spoon full in a tiny jug. I don't think I would want to go back there again. I left feeling hungry.

Amazing place! Can’t believe we never went here earlier! Absolutely loved it here, was our first time here with the family for my fiancé’s birthday and everything was just outstanding. The food, could not fault, there were 11 adults and everyone loved their main. The decor was very classy and the service was 5* for sure, the waiters were very knowledgable and friendly. Would def recommend and will be coming here again very soon!

It is one of the best restaurants we've had the pleasure of dining in. The restaurant is very tastefully decorated, with such a relaxed ambience. The staff are friendly, welcoming, and efficient. Now for the food..... 10/10 for flavour, quality, presentation, and portion sizes. I had brie starter and chicken salad main. Husband had chilli Prawns starter and Chicken saltimbocca main. Wonderful location for a special occasion. We went here for a lunch (20 people) after our little wedding ceremony - staff couldn't have been more helpful and accommodating to various dietary and access requirements. Food and atmosphere were brilliant too, the perfect location and setting.
