Try it rapid, its one of the best spots about and you can sit on the floor upstairs which is an added bonus. Make sure to get the lime/lemon juice its too nice

I recently tried the chicken steak with rice. I loved the flavor of the chicken, but the rice was a bit hard to chew. I'll have to try it again to see if this is a regular issue. I also had the lemon juice, which was superb. There is only one person serving everything, so service might be a bit slow. Additionally, they should improve cleanliness, as there were flies on the tables and floor. This could be a problem for those who prefer a neat and tidy dining environment.

This place is not authentic Somali food , it lacks flavour and the lamb is dry , this place fails to take constructive criticism but would rather be rude to customers who are trying to resolve an issue. Do not spend money on such company that don’t value their customers. Instead if offering me substitute they would rather be rude to customers over the phone. If you like flavourful food do not go here as it’s dry with 0 flavour

Tried the Baris and Hilib, the soup and samboosas which were all excellent. Lovely atmosphere and service was quick. Will be back again!

I was starving and had wanted to try some Somalian food, this place came top of reviews when looking for Somalian restaurants, and damn the food was banging, hit all the right spots. Customer service was 10/10 very clean place with facility for washing hands too. The atmosphere wasn't as great for me personally but iverall I loved it would definitely go again🥰

Was so excited to try this place after reading many good reviews and being told about how nice it was. Upon visiting and trying the food I must say I was extremely disappointed. Very average meal and wasn't much meat and it was quite dry not soft like it should be. Gutted with the experience.

Never had Somalian food before and we really enjoyed this meal! Ordered chicken suqar and beef suqar from the breakfast menu which comes with 3 massive pancakes each. Very tasty and wholesome meal. I preferred the beef suqar as the spices were more to my taste. We also ordered a chicken leg and rice which was tasty and my 1 year old had a lot of the chicken (he also loved the pancakes). We sat upstairs on the carpeted floor area which was extremely clean and well kept. The friendly and helpful staff also put up a divider when your food arrives so you have some privacy during your meal upstairs. I would definitely recommend this place.

First time trying Somali food and I can confidently say the food was 10/10. Very flavoursome, huge portions, excellent customer service all at a great price I felt like they had given us a discount but that was the actual price for everything we ordered. For 2 people we had starters, mains (seen in picture) and dessert (highly recommend it was like a concunut cake in some sort of sweet syrup or custard. very sweet and would deffo get again) with somali tea. All in total came to £32. The food was definitely worth every penny. No complaints there. The lemonade these guys make is out of this world. Refreshing and has a nice minty taste which is just right not too strong a perfect blend between the lemon and the mint 👌. Great for a hot summers day. We planned on tasting the lamb with rice as that is the famous dish and has many good reviews. We didnt get chance to taste it since it had run out when we got there (would recommend going early as it is very popular and in demand) instead we had somali rice with spaghetti tender juicy chicken which wasnt spciy but very flavourful mixed in with pepppers and onions as shown in the picture and 2 bananas. I presumed they are eaten with the main course we ended with somali tea which was different and had a nice taste to it. And on the side of that we had the cake which was 10/10. Overall excellent food, friendly people, and great hospitality الحمد لله

Probably - not definitively - the first time I've had Somali food at a restaurant and it was familiar yet different enough to recommend from Mandi/ kabsa dishes. The slow cooked lamb was highly recommended, however the chicken was dry and tough to eat with rice. Friendly and warm people and food, the pre ordered meat was a true embodiment of the food is love concept

I'll share you a small experience which I felt in suja everyone feel to try outside food when we go out as usual itried a new restaurant it was a random pic but it made me feel different Wich meets reality in taste the food was quite like homily food so I feel like so good hospitality experience as well next tym I'll surly visit this restaurant when I cross Claremont road.

Returned to Suja for brekkie & ordered lamb liver as well as ful medames. These came freshly prepared & with a generous portion of canjeero/ anjero which are similar to Ethiopian/ Eritrean injera. We had a stack of 6 of these pancakes. I have never been a fan of injera but loved the canjeero which were freshly made & steaming. There were bits which were slightly crisp as well which added to the texture. Both the liver & ful were very tasty. The ful was different from the Middle Eastern variety as it was more mashed up & we think there were tomatoes in it. It also tasted slightly peanutty. Being greedy, we also got a pancake which was thin, light & slightly sweet but not overly so. Khamiir - a fried dough with nigella seeds - was another thing we got & it was interesting and reminded us of ham chim peng from SE Asia. Breakfast was £6 each which included a cup of Somali tea we got. The pancake was 50p & khamiir was 80p so the total came to £13.30 which was a steal for fresh & delicious food! Love Suja & it won't be the last time we visit!

Ordered for a function. Chicken tasted off and even caused stomach pains to pregnant guest. When sharing feedback to staff they proceded to swear and denied that their food could taste bad. I tasted their food at a wedding last year and was extremely salty. Most definitely will never purchase again.

We visited Suja on a Saturday around 11am. We had tried to visit the Friday before but it was only open at 1pm. Staff were very friendly & welcoming. As the lamb dishes weren't ready, they recommended the beef & chicken suqaar with rice. We got that as well as a ginger tea & a ginger drink without the tea. The stews were served with rice, salad & a few chips & portions were generous. We were also given 3 chilli sauces on the side - a red tomatoey one, a green spicy one & a coconut one. They were all delish esp the red one. The green one was the most spicy & the coconut one had a spice kick which slowly emerges! Both the suqaar were delish, esp the beef which was seasoned with many spices including cumin. The chicken suqaar was tasty but seemed to be breast rather than thigh meat & the flavour was less distinctive than the beef dish. The flavouring of the beef suqaar reminded us of a Yemeni dish lamb muqalqal 😋😋😋😋 Staff gave us a banana each which they said Somalis have with rice, so we tried this. The rice was similar to Afghan pilau with carrots & currants. Very tasty! For dessert, we had basbousa & xalwo. The basbousa was interesting as unlike the Arabic variety which is doused in syrup, the Somali version was drenched in condensed milk. Very delicious & slightly coconuty. Xalwo was a chewy, gooey sweet, with nuts. The texture was a cross between Turkish delight & the Chinese nian2 gao1 which is eaten during the New Year. As we were about to leave, staff brought us some lamb to try as it was ready. This was served with some onions & peppers. The lamb was tender & and fell off the bone. Some elements of the flavouring reminded us of Chinese braised meats 😁 Everything we had was cooked fresh & absolutely delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed it and staff were sooooo lovely!!! The bill came up to £23 which was very reasonable. We definitely want to return to try other dishes, hopefully sooner rather than later! Check out Suja for great Somali food & fantastic service!!!!

Delicious food and great value, and an especially warm welcome to non-Somali customers - not only from the staff, but also the other diners. Just remember to say the magic words "Salaam Alecom" and you're immediately friends with everyone! Highly recommend as a gastronomic and cultural winner.

If you are looking for good Somali food, then look no further. The portions are very generous, the prices are good. The rice and lamb is.my favourite. Perfectly.cooked rice with tender lamb served with salad and 3 different sauces. This is my go to somali food joint.

Suja restaurant, the food is very delicious. All their food is my favourite I couldn't choose which one would be my favourite. You name it, the main, dessert, smoothies, snacks. The service is excellent, when you order the food, they deliver your food very quickly. I would really recommend, it is an amazing restaurant.

I’ve been here few times now, I love their sambus, quruc, even my kids love it here and ask if we can pick up food and their customer service is amazing. The two guys are really polite, helpful and even bought the food to my car when I couldn’t go inside. Will definitely be back inshallah. Keep up the good work!
