Suds & Subs in Wakefield

Called in for something to eat during an evening out. All I can say is wow!!! This place is subway on steroids....... Didn't really know what to have so asked for their most popular sandwich, got a choice of 3 and then could amend to remove what I didn't want. Service was excellent and food was cracking. Well recommended!!

We visited Subs and Suds yesterday for lunch, really cool little place with great selection of food and drink! The staff were really friendly and service was great, all round good place to be 😊

Got a delicious takeaway from here - would really recommend esp the deep dish pizza. You have to wait for it to be made but it is so worth it.

Staff are lovely, food is amazing and portion sizes are amazing. My boyfriend had a sub, I had a pizza. I've been to new York and this is the first place in England I've been where the pizza taste the same as NYC. Absolutely amazing!!!!

The absolute best subs you will eat!! And the portion size is brilliant! First time trying it today and most definitely will be back to try the Philly cheese steak sub! The chicken Parma was to die for!!

This spot in Wakefield is doing something special. It’s an American-themed subs and slices joint with a modern deli vibe. The Pac-Man machine adds a fun retro touch, and they’ve got a great selection of beers and drink upgrades to make things boozy if you want. The food is seriously impressive. I had the Cubanos, which was packed with flavor, and my partner's pizza was just as outstanding. The customer service was friendly and casual, and the overall atmosphere made it a place you’d want to visit anytime of day. They’ve clearly put a lot of thought into everything—right down to the cool merch. It’s exciting to see a spot like this leading innovation in what feels like an up-and-coming area. Respect to them for creating something unique!

Went for the first time today and will go back, great food (all homemade) and effort has been put into making the shop look good with theming. Service was also great, the lady who took my order was very friendly and accommodating of food requests. Can recommend!

Are you like me and spend way too much time scrolling stacked sandwiches on instagram? If so, Subs & Suds needs to be on your lunch list! I started with a deli meats sub 🤤🤤🤤 This is nothing like the meal deal baguette you buy from the highstreet bakery chain... this has layers upon layers of gorgeous filling all the way through the sandwich. There's no hunk of naked bread at the end. Filled with slices of meat, cheese and crinkle cut pickled gherkins - it's packed with flavour. When they ask if you want garlic butter oil.....the only appropriate answer is yes. It's clear they put a whole lot of effort in perfecting the ratios of fillings and flavour combinations for the ultimate scran. I don't know where they buy their bread, (or if it's homemade??) but it's really decent too - a nice crispy crust and sturdy enough to keep the structural integrity of the bap despite some moist fillings, but also not with too much chewiness. Top notch! I visited a couple weeks later where i tried the Cubano - a melty meaty mustardy number - absolutely delicious. The mustard pops a punch and works really well to contrast the salty cheese. It's the kind of rich, messy comfort food that hits just right on a chilly winters day. Besides the gorgeous grub, they've got free retro arcade machines so you can channel your inner pacman and munch on some pac-dots whilst you wait for your food. The staff working behind the counter have been friendly and seem pretty happy to be there, which is always a good sign!

What a fab place! Went last night and had the largest sandwich I've ever had in my entire life. 😍 Great choices of vegetarian sandwiches, I had the vegan chicken parm and my lord, the marinara was the best. Great atmosphere and lovely staff (shout out to Jasmine). Will definitely be coming back soon to try the rest of the offering.

Totally amazing and massive dinner. I went for the Meatball made vegan. Enormous 12" sub with a lot of heft to it, gorgeous crusty bread made onsite, best marinara sauce I've ever tasted, fake cheese was tasty and not too sticky. Really good meat substitutes (my fiancée said the same of her fake-chicken parm). Nice option for alcohol-free beer too. Long live Subs & Suds!

Amazing New York style pizza and sandwich shop tucked away in the city of Wakefield. The staff are joy to talk to and the prices are reasonable. I love that they offer something unique compared to the rest of the food shops in the area. The only constructive feedback I'd give is to provide even more halal options (as far as I'm aware, the fried chicken is halal).

I've been looking forward to trying this place for a long time, and it definitely did not disappoint! We popped in for lunch on a Saturday afternoon and were immediately greeted by friendly service. The menu was extensive and looked delicious, so we had a hard time choosing. We eventually settled on a deli meats sub, a slice of pizza, and a side of fries, along with two bottomless soft drinks. The sub was generously filled and came with a choice of salad and sauces, some of which were homemade. The pizza was also very tasty, and the fries were perfectly crispy. All of our food was delicious and very reasonably priced for the quality on offer. We will definitely be back to try some of the other items on the menu!

5th time going now, Just tried their breakfast deal. 2 pork sausage patties, cheese, scrambled egg and marinara sauce in a whopping bun! Mcd's Sausage Egg Mcmuffin is a 1 in comparison giving this place a solid 10 out of 10. If your in wakefield looking for breakfast, Go and get one! it's only a FIVER!!! (sorry didn't take a pic, ate it too quick!)

Wow. Not the cheapest sandwich ever but definitely up there with the best. I can see and taste where the money is being spent. Great bread and excellent quality meats, but it it the balance and combination of flavour that works so well. Delicious.

Great venue, great staff, can't wait too see what comes in the future!

Eaten here a few times now and both pizza, subs and service is lovely, staff are always friendly French dip & philly cheesesteak are our go to, def worth it!

Used these for my 60th birthday party and the food was outstanding all my guests loved the food and commented how good it was.

I ordered the Philly cheese steak sub. The first few bites were excellent until I started getting really fatty bits of beef. If it wasn't for that, it would be a much higher rating. The staff were friendly but I don't particular like being called sweetie by a stranger.

Popped in today and had a plant-based Sausage & Peppers sub. Was impressed by the friendly service and the clean, well-lit restaurant space. I took the sub with me to eat outside, and I loved the combination of flavours. The plant-based sausage was particularly good, and it's nice to see a decent selection on the menu for non-meat-eaters. If I were being slightly picky, it's a shame plant-based options cost an extra pound, but it's still decent value for money.

Food was absolutely quality. We had the meatball and Italian sausage subs with the mozzarella sticks and fries - all were so good and generously portioned. Proper Italian-American deli style eating!

Visited today for lunch. We split a 12’ Cuban sub, a pepperoni pizza slice, chips and a drink. Everything tasted amazing. The ingredients were fresh, the staff nice and friendly and we were able to sit outside with our dog. The food was good value for the money. We will definitely be visiting again. We also liked the soda refills, the type used were nice and a bit different to your usual boring branded Coke and sprite etc. I was using a wheelchair and had to get my husband to bump it in to and out of the shop, we were able to go straight back on to the street once seated outside so not too much of a problem. Things were accessible also once inside

First time visiting today and definitely won’t be the last, amazing food with such friendly and welcoming staff . Would highly recommend

As a man who has eaten a lot of sandwiches the fact that yesterday, I ate the best sandwich I’ve ever had is really saying something.

Another cool place just off Wood street. Brought the whole gang and am raving about the sub, burger and beer. Welcome to the neighbourhood!

Loved it! The staff are very friendly, Loved the traditional meets modern style. The food was fantastic, the deli meats are melt in your mouth and loved that I can wash it all down with a cold beer.

We had subs, a slice of Pizza and a salad with vegan meatballs. Wow. Best we’ve ever had.

Cannot rate this place highly enough 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 the food is incredible!!! The steak sub is an absolute must try 😍 along with the pepperoni hot honey pizza 😍😍 all delivered pipping hot, excellent customer service throughout 😊
