Subway in Southend-on-Sea

Stopped here while waiting for a bus after work one rainy evening. The food was good as usual for subway. I had enough points for a foot long sub that made my evening. Only 4 stars because I had to wait outside as the poor staff guy had to lock the door to use the toilet as people have walked in and robbed stuff before when he doesn't. Not his fault at all though. He was polite, hygienic, and efficient. It's a shame that businesses in 2024 still function with the solo worker gig. What if something happens to him? Sort it out.

At about 3:30 in the afternoon we arrived at subway. It is inside with a few other restaurants. We ordered 9-grain wheat bread and a cookie Overall, the food was genuinely nice and the cookie was delicious.

I took my daughter to Subway in Southend, we normally enjoy eating there but the food served to us on this occasion was old and Disgusting and most of it was thrown away. I asked the person serving me for a refund but was refused. I then wrote to customer service who also refused to do anything other than say sorry. AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE!

This subway allows staff to fill subs with the wrong filling & doesn't refund or replace beware when ordering, go in person to order & collect or be prepared for receiving the wrong food with no apologies & no refund when ordering through just eat or Uber eats!! It was an expensive mistake ordering from Southchurch Southend Subway. I was told to collect a free cookie next time your passing.

Subway Southend has a great team of staff nothing is to much trouble for them . From order to collection the process is easy and you won’t be disappointed with the food .

The staff in this subway are very helpful nothing is to much trouble for them and they make a delicious sandwich.

This is the 3rd time I have been to the southend subeay and I have to say again the services was terrible. I have been to others stores ie basikdon and southend are extremely stingy with the salads and yest they charge the same as other stores but other stores give u value for money. I will not be attending that store again and wl be putting in an offical complaint.Also the guy was very rude and made me feel like I was inconveiencing him.

I love subway since long. Visted subway branch in royal mall compound, closed to the taxi stand (sos)last Monday 30th July after 5pm and before 5:30pm. Only person workig inside is Indian looks black complexion age approx less than 30y. I entered inside when he is on mobile phone not talking,maybe chatting or texting. He is not looking at me so that I can ask him is it open still or close? About 3minutes later I asked and rather than he answer, he question me " did you see any sign says is closed " then he serve me steak and cheese sandwich I was eating in me only customer. Then one young gentle girl age nearly 20 customer came. Serve her what she wanted then when she sat in a table one table way from me to eat, at the time man told her very rudely, says you can eat Don't mess in the table. I eat subway food all over the world. Never experienced anything like this mans behaviour. If I see that man in any branch of subway I will give up eating from subway.

Came in here quickly before a flight from Southend - place was empty so was served straight away. Guy behind the counter was friendly enough and he was very generous with the chicken, which is good. As Subway branches go, this one is clean, large and has all the ingredients. What more can you ask for?

Used to enjoy eating the fresh food here but now the freeze everything including chicken, you cant have a cold sub, the shop its self is thilfy im surprised food hygien and enviromental health havn't shut them down. The tables are crammed in god forbid someone with a wheel chair trys eating here, the staff are rude and dont care. I dont not recommend you eat here

Some good deals and had an excellent breakfast meal from there. Fresh sandwich fillings in a clean environment. Staff were great to me. Only drawback is that it is only a fast food place and so I am being picky but excellent needs something more.

Awful service by disinterested staff, unless you are one of theirs mates, then they will talk all day. Manager not managing his staff, Worst Subway I have ever visited, thank god I don't live here!

Do like to have a honey oat chicken sub every now and then. Fresh ingredients , good value for money and always tasty.

Lovely tasty subs full of filling and great value . Staff friendly . Well presented . Good branch . Love the Italian ones . Please do a chicken bacon in white sauce

Food is okay if you are in a hurry. Usual subway menu. Customer service left a lot to be desired at the time we visited. If you want great service, go somewhere else! Staff serving us seemed inconvenienced by us showing up, so we will not be visiting here again for a quick business lunch.

Great for a £3 lunch meal deal of a sub and a drink. The shop is clean and tidy with seating and toilet facilities.

Nothing special - not up to usual subway standard but offered a quick meal at the end of a long day. Generous portion sizes and quick service. Happier staff and better quality ingredients would have scored higher.

Went in here to get a bite to eat and the service and the guy who served us was rude!! (Azeem) no hello no goodbye and spoke Very quietly... Definitely need to work on their customer service skills!

Mi pareja y yo me encanta metro, llegamos a encontrar un hombre sentado atrás, había una ventana a través de la pared, así que él vio. Se quedó allí, creo que jugando en su teléfono. Muy mal servicio!

Have visited this branch before and it was not the best.Thought I would give it another go.Filthy!Dirty tables,dirty floors,dirty chairs.I won't be back.

Love Subway, as do my kids, but this one is not good. It's always filthy and they cram the chairs in so you can't sit down without nearly sitting on the next table.Not one of the staff comes out to tidy tables or sweep. They are very abrupt and don't really give you a minute to choose what you want.It needs a big clean up. If this was the first subway you'd been in, you would never go in another! Take a look at Princes avenue subway. They are much better.

Have visited a few times for lunch,always looks dirty and the place seems to be full of students.Now I know students have to eat somewhere but normally there is one eating subway food and the other eight just sitting on the chairs taking up space.I have given up trying to sit and eat in here now,I have it to take out and sit on the pavement.!!!!

It's a subway - what do you expect? They make sandwiches the way you want them. The prices are pretty much the same as they are around the rest of the country, & the only bad thing is that currently the staff are a bit on the slow side.

Tryed this with my partner because we keep seeing it advertised but its just really a long soft roll, cant see the fuss I'm afraid!
