Subway in Dundee City

Food was nice but the overall decor and cleanliness was lacking, and the mens toilets were nothing short of disgusting!!

I ordered a bombay sandwich at subway Kingsway west today(13/08/24) at 10 am, the man that serving me was rude and seem not happy doing his job. Unpleasant communication, not greeting the customer with smile. Very poor costumer service.

Full order wrong/missing items when delivered, went to shop to complain girl on till very rude saying order was send out as it was ordered which was incorrect. Bread was hard and stale. Juice missing from order. Didn’t care to help just said put refund with just eat.

Food is the usual Not particularly clean nor fresh food either, salad is usually pretty sad looking

ordered a chicken tikka salad and a philly steak sub. received whatever those are in the photos attached. restaurant didnt answer the phone, phoned 3 times.

Ordered online and was sent my order but deconstructed and on the wrong bread which I'm allegic to and the wrong sauce which I'm also allergic too. Don't order from here If you have allergen problems cause they might just end up killing you

Stopped here after not having subway for many years due to bad experiences. The guys serving us were really friendly and helpful. The place was spotless and so were the toilets. Keep up the great work!

Tasty subs, we always go here after a walk at Tentsmuir Beach

This subway is great. Nice and open with plenty of seating. I visit often with my dad as the food is great and the staff are always lovely. Never got his name but the last person who served us was very cheery. He had glasses and a moustache. I know this isn't much to go on, but if it's enough to identify him then please reward him for his great customer service.

Avoid it. I almost got food poisoning at this branch. I’m trying to be fair with this, was them being bad, or because I ordered last 10 minutes before they close and the food been already out for a while. Either way, it was a nightmare.

Decided to nip in here to use up the points I had before they change the app to some new scheme. I was going to have one of their new smokehouse range but sadly they had no steak and both lads explained this was a delivery issue. Both were apologetic. It seemed they were running low on a number of things as the drinks cooler was fairly empty. Iwe decided to eat in but I found the place quite dirty. Every table had crumbs on them and bits of food lying on the floor. Some of the seats had fairly poor quality repairs. The place just looks a bit run down. The lads working there were friendly and helpful otherwise I wouldn't be rushing back. Get the orders available and get the place cleaned up a bit.

Salad was so crisp and fresh we had teriyaki chicken marvellous.

ordered online. food was great But i ordered 6 cookies and only received 2. tried to call the restaurant 3 times but did not receive an answer. heartbreaken

Stopped only out of convenience for a take away coffee. Reasonable but was disappointed to see it was made with a coffee bag and not freshly ground coffee beans. I have eaten at Subway before and the food is generally quite nice. Place was empty but never get any sense of an atmosphere in any of their stores.

Stop off on the way from Aberdeen to Glasgow.. Great choice of food and drinks. The staff are so professional about their products and will help choose the best. To suit .. Meal deals are great value too...

Staff didn't acknowledge us at all for at least a few minutes! And carried on making online orders. We were the only people in the place, so surely you would greet and serve the customers who have bothered to go in rather than doing online orders. Staff once they could be bothered to talk were very rude and not polite at all! All I can say is Subway might want to employ managers with more customer service experience to help the staff to be polite and helpful and just simply have MANNERS!

Will not be back. Other half went in to buy a childrens box as my 4 year old who does not eat bread asked for a salad box instead, to be told no, once the girl has asked a member of management, she then asked for the contents that would be in the sandwich if she could have in the box, girl then asked manager or supervisor if that was ok, she said ok there were no kids activity box with meal available only crayons . My other half also came out to car with cookeis. Cant have a cookie without a latte, so in I went to get a latte. I stood at the counter for 5 minutes while girls on counter just ignored me 3 members of staff on today behind counter. They were to busy with just Eat or Deliveroo collections ( plenty of delivery drivers chilling on the couches waiting) to bother with actual store customers check your cctv im standing there with bank card in my hand. I walked out and will not be back.

Great food as always and the server was fantastic. Are server, Ellis was chatty, funny and friendly. He defo made the journey to Subway worth it.

Stopped off at this restaurant in the middle of a long journey after about three hours in the car. We just wanted to eat some decent sandwiches in a nice clean restaurant. We weren’t expecting lunch at the Ritz. None of the soap dispensers in any of the toilets had any hand soap in them whatsoever. Asked the staff to provide some hand soap but the guy didn’t have a key to open any of the soap dispensers. I asked him for the bottle so me and my family could wash our hands. Not a great start. When ordering food, the guy who couldn’t work out the soap dispenser actually rolled his eyes at my ten year old daughter when she asked to have the cheese in her sandwich melted and then cold salami put on top, telling her something along the lines of “You’re meant to order from this first section and then move along and order from this section after it’s been under the grill”. I’m not sure if he was correct or if every other person we’ve ever been served by in other Subway restaurants is polite and accommodating enough to just make my daughter the sandwich she wants without being quite arsey and making her feel uncomfortable. He was lucky my fiancé didn’t bite his head off for being so rude. Anyway, I then ordered my sandwich, choosing a special which was a chicken caesar salad sandwich. They asked me what I wanted in it and when I said I’d just like it standard, as it comes on the menu, they didn’t understand what I meant. Maybe my mistake thinking I could order the sandwich pictured and priced on the board, I honestly don’t know. Anyway, I asked for chicken and some salad. Got to the end and was asked which sauce I wanted. I said caesar dressing and they said “we don’t have any”. No one thought it worth mentioning this when I asked for… hopeless. Then we went and sat down at a table which was really dirty even though there was about five members of staff and only one other table occupied when we arrived. The sandwiches were passable, about normal for Subways but everything else about the visit was poor. Dirty, unhygienic restaurant, rude staff, poor service and letting customers order items which are not available. The worst fast food place we’ve been to for as long as I can remember.

We tried the new steak & cheese melt and it was awesome. I'd definitely get it again. The staff are really friendly and nice. Lots of free parking spaces available. The only negative thing was that the restaurant was rather untidy.

Zero stars. Ordered tuna sandwich and I could hardly see or test tuna, empty cool bread nothing in it. Avoid it, quality is rubbish.

You get what you pay for; good fresh food how you want it.

More than once we have pre-ordered from this Subway, and more than once we have been disappointed in the quantity of the servings. Ordered Nachos; upon getting home discovered a box of nachos with a small bit of melted cheese in the middle, and an even smaller bit of salsa underneath the nachos. The sub that was ordered came with a reduced amount of salad, and NO cheese. Another sub had a different type of cheese, (if you could find it), and was charged an extra £1 for the privilege of locating it hiding in the corner. The cost of a subway is not cheap these days, so to make sure you are getting all you have ordered and are entitled to. I strongly recommend that you order in person when using this particular restaurant. That way you can see that you receive exactly what you should, rather than travel home and discover a disappointing offering. The quality of the food was standard, just the quantity was poor.

Used to have a higher rating, but every time we have ordered from them of late the delivery has been wrong. That's now 3 times they have messed up the order in the last 6 months

I love Subway and this one is one of the best. Food always looks fresh and there’s plenty tables to eat in. Large carpark too.

Subway is normally a dependable staple for food on the go. However, this particular franchise store has persistent issues with stock on items that quite frankly, scream with poor management or lazy staff. For example, bagged veg e.g. pickles, jalapeños etc. running out midday is either the staff being too lazy to open another bag, or the management not ordering enough in. Not talking about cooked meats or running out of breads - they take time to solve. But sauces and most salad is not excusable. I've resorted to simply not using this store anymore and recommend you don't either.

Toilets were really smelly and the sinks could do with a bleach round the taps too. Hugely overpriced

Visited this branch on 03/09/22,on arrival no other customers inside.One male staff member was making up orders,never acknowledged us,female staff member came from back,didn’t acknowledge us either,we asked if we could sit in,was told,not really as it was almost closing time(we arrived at 8.10pm,closed at 9pm.) Female staff member then walked away and proceeded to clean tables. Neither staff member didn’t ask what we would like to order. Waited another few minutes,after still being ignored,we decided to leave and take our custom to another fast food restaurant. Absolutely disgraceful customer service,will not be going back again.

Dine in, take out,also delivery available mid price and a good selection to choose from.

Shambles in terms of service quality, staff training as well as cleanliness of the establishment. If it wouldn't for genuine desperation during my visit, can't imagine anyone wanting to come in here. Avoid if possible.

Slower service than normal and wrong sandwiches made after toasting, possibly down to training new staff

This is a fairly standard branch of Subway except I haven’t been to one in a while and now there seems to be more vegan/vegetarian options. We got the Meatless Meatball Marinara & Plant Patty. Both were decent options and make a nice change from the vegetable filling that used to be the main option. As Subway and fast food options go, I’m not expecting anything amazing and the subs were enjoyable.

Chicken nachos were not cooked staff didn't seem really bothered when I complained won't be back

So disappointed, there was no marinara sauce for my sub, there was also very limited salad options and i asked why and she told me they ran out, in my opinion the staff are lazy and too busy chatting so be any more than a 1 star rating, very poor service

Fast and efficient. Sometimes doing trade "at the door" but that is intermittent. Always doing deliveries when open.

This is my closest subway so I’ve been a lot but there have consistently been issues and I don’t feel like I can go back. Subway is great for having a menu that caters for dietary requirements. I order a gluten free, vegan sandwich every time. Consistently I am given the wrong cheese (dairy), the wrong sauce (egg) or there’s no gluten free bread. We just ordered a foot long TLC (vegetarian) and two 6 inch gluten free vegan TLCs (you can’t order a foot long gluten free on the app). Ordered 35 minutes in advance. Arrived and the sandwiches weren’t made and there was only one 6 inch bread left. 25 minutes later, my boyfriend got back to the car and we realised the gluten free vegan sandwich had dairy cheese and southwest sauce (egg) on it so he went back in and was refunded. Got home and saw that the foot long sandwich (on Italian herbs and cheese) which was ordered with dairy cheese and southwest sauce has vegan cheese and the wrong sauce. Every single aspect of the order is wrong. We looked back at our orders and almost every other order had issues. Such a shame and to wait almost half an hour for the pleasure when the staff said they’d been quiet is just so disappointing. Staff are always friendly but it’s too unrealisable for go back. Will be travelling to the Overgate or Happy Hillock in future.

Great Service , Until This Guy Came In With 3 Kids & He Was Carrying A Baby,His Kids Were Abit Of A Nuisance, Running About, When I Was Leaving He Approached Me, Accused Me Of Staring At Him.

Quick visit for lunch, Staff always lovely.

The worst! Steak and cheese arrived with no cheese. Meatless marinara arrived with no cheese and a drizzle of marinara. Potato crispers had transformed into hash browns. Everything was cold.

Excellent food and service was first class

Always love a fresh subway and this was no exception. Friendly staff and clean, only problem was potholes lots of them and big.

Ordered on just eat. Delivered at the correct time but unfortunately the order was incorrect. My son has a dairy allergy and they put cheese on the sandwich when it wasn’t asked for. When I called for a replacement they told me I needed to order a cookie on just eat and pay for that and delivery again for a mistake that was theirs. Not taking responsibility for their mistake and me out of pocket and a very upset kid. Thankfully he noticed before things could potentially have been a lot worse!!

Visited this subway today. Food was good however I was really annoyed that there was no baby changing facility available for myself to change my sons nappy. The only nappy changing available was in the womans bathroom. This is no use for single fathers, or fathers having a day out with their children.

Had food and sat outside to eat at tables in the sun ,rats running about and in the bins .

Turned up at 6.05pm to be told they no longer have an eat in option after 6pm despite being open until 8pm. Nothing about this on their opening hours at all. Really poor attidue from staff staying they need to clean up from 6pm onwards. Looks like an excuse to get home early to me.

It's a subway. What more can I say? It's exactly like every other one in the chain. Very glad to see that they've begun to offer plant based options and clear labelling

Respectful of vegan choices. Vegan sandwich is made by someone who is handling, only, vegan sandwiches or they change their gloves to prevent cross contamination. All staff appeared attentive, helpful and friendly.

Found a hair in my sub. Won’t be returning.

Ordered online, whilst stood in a queue outside of the shop, order confirmed, however wasn’t able to collect for another hour & half...once I arrived at the front of the queue, I explained that I had ordered online & the extremely help server (NOT) told me I would have to come back when the online order informed me to, an hour & half later...I asked if the sandwich could not be made up now, only to be told no you’ll have to come back later - can someone tell me the difference in the time it takes to make 1 sandwich, wether it be in a hour & half or now, I had already stood in the queue to whereas I could have placed an order there & then & the sandwich would have been processed...me thinks someone is in the wrong job - extremely unhelpful woman (it would have taken 2mins to make the sandwich)...unhelpful woman or wrong policies subway...either way shocking service

Difficult to tell where your supposed to queue up to order food. Then had to wait a while, which is to be expected when it's busy, but when I got my food it was nearly cold because it had be sat waiting for someone to bring it out to me.

Made to stand outside for 23 minutes before even coming to take my order because " just eat orders take priority " absolute joke. But then what do you expect from Dundee

Subway Kingsway in Dundee is usually great . You don't have to wait too long and the subs are fresh & tasty .

Tried here instead of Happyhillock, what a difference. All staff wearing masks. Tables clean and cleaned at regular intervals. Contact details taken at till. One side of the company lets them down. These guy are doing brilliant.

The sandwiches here are usually alright, although be prepared to point out when you're being shorted on ingredients, such as when the 'sandwich artist' tries to get away with putting five pieces of ham on a footlong (making it the most expensive ham in the world).

Arrived at 11.45am and the place was grotty. It was empty but dirty tables and floor and nobody even attempting to clean up. Not sure if this is usual but it wasn't a good look.

Meal came to £7, gave the boy a tenner and he gave me £7 back. Cant complain.

It's shocking the time you have to wait, Stood in a cue for 30 minutes, cue out the door, and staff were working at snails pace, should be more staff and working faster, won't be returning there ever again, rather go else where, should be someone pushing then to work at faster pace and have a service woth a SMILE.....
