Subway in Derby

I approach the counter and ask a member of staff for some hot water please he stated "we are not allowed to give hot water out" I then said I'll pay for the hot water he looked at me with a grin on his face and said "still not allowed to give you hot water" I then said I will pay buy a cup of tea and leave the teabag as this is ridiculous that I am not able to get hot water to feed my baby. He grind again then said fine you can have the water, I took the water and said be a human being next time he said " don't f ing talk to me like that" whilst grining at me again I don't know if he's on some power trip or he's racist but my point is why refuse when I'm willing to pay ?

Astonishing levels of rubbish service. Inattentive young lady, covered in make up and throughout the whole affair - I don't think she actually spoke. This was even after I'd left and returned to speak to someone else as she struggled to comprehend what a sandwich was let alone how to construct one. I left initially as I simply asked her if it was normal to build an entire sub, with salad and sauce and then toast it. I found this quite odd. Toasted lettuce? Toasted cucumber? But when questioned she simply, again with no actual words, simply threw my subway on the side and served the next customer??? Beyond rude. Beyond incompetent but a credit to her colleagues who actually seemed to now what they were doing. Polite and helpful. Yet still left me with the initial young lady to be served by where I had to remind her to even put cheese in the sub and had to ask her if it was OK to have some salad as she took it straight out the oven and proceeded to wrap it??

Had lunch here Tuesday 13th December 2022. Got a table ok. Wasnt too long a queue. The food was lovely and a good price. Staff very customer focussed.
