My 12-year-old niece and I were staying in Edinburgh for 3 days and fortunately for us our Airbnb was directly across the street from this adorable cafe! I think we went there 4 or 5 times over the course of our stay and it was definitely our favorite place in Edinburgh! The owner was so friendly and welcoming! The drinks and food were also wonderful! The chai she serves is honestly the best chai I have ever had. And the presentation of all of her stuff is what my niece referred to as "Instagram-ready" lol. She has a selection of loafs and baked goods and we tried pretty much all of them over the course of our stay there! My personal favorite was the apple and lavender loaf. Absolutely to die for! This place was legitimately our favorite part of our trip to Edinburgh--a warm and welcoming place on a handful of cold and rainy days! I look forward to returning to this cafe next time I travel to Edinburgh!

I’ve followed Strumpets on Instagram and loved the coffee images and a trip to the capital meant I could finally check it all out for real. Our visit was a treat from start to finish - lovely upbeat ladies, excellent coffee and apple/mint tea, and the blueberry, lemon and thyme cake was perfection. I approve of the quirky seating, the interesting decor, and the welcoming ambience. Delighted to find a reason to be back in Edinburgh so I can revisit.

I got a coffee and cake, quite expensive for what they were and the coffee was a little bit too bitter for my tastes. I wanted to use my laptop to send a few emails but didn't have time because as soon as I was finished the waitress told me I'd have to purchase something else or vacate the table. I guess every cafe has their own approach.

What a charming coffee stop . We happened upon this coffee stop whilst waiting on someone arriving at Haymarket Station. The coffee was excellent and the cakes were all homemade . The brownie was particularly good and instead of a standard coffee biscuit a small piece of specialty cake was served with our drinks. On saturday this happened to be Bara Brith. The service was very friendly and the environment nice and relaxed. They also have a book club once a month .......... I could move to Edinburgh just to be able to join in here.

We met the server on the steps outside as we all engaged with the ginger cat patrolling the street. Her friendly personality encouraged us to return a little later for a light lunch and we discovered this very individual, very comfortable laid back coffee house. The soup was really flavoursome and the quiche creamy but light. Coffee was served as either dark or light roast and was excellent. If we have to find a downside, the chocolate chip banana loaf could have been a little more moist. A totally delightful experience.

A real wee haven in the West End. From the moment you walk in, you can feel the care and love that has gone into selecting every element to help create this beautiful wee space. Chic and elegant, yet not pretentious in any way; it is the sort of place you just want to stay and relax. I love the selection of loose leaf teas and the cakes are *almost* too beautiful to eat. I've been in a couple of times to see what it's like, I'm always interested in new places opening in the West End. The place itself is quite nice inside, bright and open with plenty of space around the seats. The cakes are quite nice and the coffee is pretty average if I'm honest which is disappointing for one of the most expensive coffee shops in the West End. They advertise their Artisan Roast beans, but this certainly isn't Artisan Roast standard of coffee.
