Strawberry Fayre Tea Room & Bakery in Coleraine

I had been told about this place for years from many people and I’m sorry I left it so long to visit. Very friendly staff and great food, it has a very homily feel and is a very comforting place to have lunch. The braised steak with onion gravy and Champ was incredible. Must visit everyone!!

Love to visit Strawberry Fare at least once a month. The staff are very friendly and nothing is too much of a bother.

Went here for lunch on Friday when we arrived it was busy but seated very quickly. Wanted something heathly ordered backed potato came exactly how I asked (was lovely big portion) . Service fast staff friendly & helpful. Would highly recommend will be back soon. Wendy

Service very very slow. Quite expensive for what was on offer. Went with my elderly mother - her first time there but said she wouldn't go back again.

Best milky coffee you'll get in Northern Ireland, in my opinion 😋 Just moved back from Canada, so I'm looking for great coffees. I highly recommend the milky coffee here ☕️

I had a beautiful meal here as far as the food goes, but the day I visited was a scorcher and my 92 year old Dad was feeling poorly. I please asked for some water which duly came and he came round. When paying the bill I could not believe they had charged me £2 for a bottle of water. This has left a sour taste in our mouths and will probably never frequent the place again.

Excellent lunch - very tasty - simple “home cooked” food. Served without all the usual embellishments. Veg excellent. Value for money. Reiterate that it is very plain but state that as a recommendation.

Never again. Dated plain simple menu. After listening to a waitress prattle 10 minutes talking about her dog to one of the 4 other customers, finally she arrived to take or order. Shortly after talking our order 4 other staff appeared from various other area's. So there were nearly more staff than customers than visible staff. Menu referred to trakebakes and a sweet table. None of which were visible to anyone. Or listed on the menu Ist and last time for me.

Love Strawberry Fayre. The food is absolutely gorgeous and desserts are also. Staff are very friendly and service is good too. Good portions and a beautiful place. We have been going here for years now and never have got a bad meal, the complete opposite in fact, the plates are always cleared, which is something that I have never done anywhere else we eat at. Would thoroughly recommend it.

The gentleman who appears to be the manager could do with being a little more pleasant. A lot actually! Ladies serving are absolutely lovely! Menu outdated. Quietly advised an issue with my dish which was sorted. Made a spectacle of due to doing so by said manager and another lady who appeared to co-run establishment. And appeared extremely annoyed by my complaint! Not a way to run a cafe/restaurant. And as a result have lost our family/friends as costumers!! And unfortunately would not recommend to others

Very nice little tea room! Was happy to come here and get a spot of tea, even within 30mins of closing. They didn't have a full menu for food (last order is 30mins before closing), but they we're more than happy to provide us with tea and treats/cake/scones. Perfect place to get your afternoon tea! And the cherry scone was absolutely 10/10! Would definitely come back. And the service was quick and attentive too, no issues at all.

From someone hard to please I'm surprised at some of the previous reviews. We found the staff to be friendly and welcoming and the food was nicely presently and moderately priced. Would not hesitate to return

Visited the Tea Room end of August for lunch with friends. When we entered and got seated we waited 20 minutes for menu, a further 20 before order was taken. Waited a further 30 minutes for food despite having enquired about our order. Food was ok though portions could have been larger especially the chicken and steak! ordered desserts and it was repeat procedure getting menus, taking order and waiting for desserts. Plenty staff fluttering about and standing talking, gentleman floating doing nothing. Never again will we be back. Took almost 2 hours for lunch! Disgusted having friends with us, having to wait all this time.

I along with some friends visited your Restaurant this week and the service by your staff was dreadful. Had to ask on one occasion after 40 minutes of taking order was there any sign of our food!! Then we ordered sweets which was another twenty minutes plus before being served. All in all a quick lunch took one and a half hours! Food was well presented, not cheap either though tasty. Waiting time dreadful. Never again! Once bitten twice shy!

I was in a hurry to keep some appointments and realised as I drove past that I needed some food. I quickly chose a braised steal lunch. What I received was a child's portion or lunch for a very elderly person who had lost their appetite; three small pieces of meat and a small potato cut up and spread around a plate used for starters in any other catering establishment. With a pot of tea £11 approx. I should have known better, why, because I do know better. I tried this place 5 years ago and it was as under-whelming then as it still is. In reality, its a sugar haven for mainly elderly ladies with the world on their shoulders, out for teas, coffees, snacks, light lunches, cheese cake, lemon meringue and jam sponge with custard. There is no doubt this place has a good market share of one foot in the grave diners but if you're full of energy and house a healthy appetite don't enter. If you are hungry, desire something tasty, go see Heather in Rocca, she will also give you a warm welcome and a smile, at least she did the last time I ate there.

Definitely a much older clientele. Food was very nice. Staff were very personable. Service was fairly quick. Pricing was reasonable.

Really enjoyed my afternoon tea, scones and my soup were delicious, priced reasonably. Took home a few of their cakes and they were popular at home

5 of us went for light lunch this afternoon. The place has had a complete internal makeover & it is simply gorgeous! Everything home made & even the little side salads accompanying the dishes had fresh peppers, grapes, pineapple & orange on them. Tea served in Delph pot & lovely China cups & saucers! Homemade soup & wheaten were delicious too. Spoilt for choice at the amazing sweet counter & lots of lovely home baked scones, cakes, biscuits etc. available to buy to take home. Staff were so friendly. Beautiful gardens outside & everyone warm & welcoming. Definitely highly recommended & we will be paying a visit again very soon.

Lovely, tasty food with excellent customer service. The open prawn sandwich is amazing as was the braised beef with champ and vegetables. Puddings are to die for the stawberry roulade is huge and so light and fluffy

Another beautiful lunch, the food is so fresh and healthy, there is no chips and burgers here just amazing fresh wholesome food cooked healthy. I have travelled to many countries and eaten in high class restaurants but this is still my favourite place for lunch. No words can describe the lemon meringue, it is delicious, the owners do not scrimp on portions like many restaurants do. I will return again soon.

It was my idea to try this place which I had passed many times so I was a bit embarrassed by the poor experience we had. The lady servers were very pleasant but otherwise this place didn’t have much going for it. A gentleman who appeared to be the manager could have spared us a word of welcome as he hovered around but not so. The restaurant needs a big upgrade of furniture and decor. One of our party said it hadn’t changed since her last visit some years ago. I opted for a toastie. It was somewhat underwhelming, having been hastily made in a machine with no personal touch to the cooking. My 9 year old granddaughter produces more exciting fare. This place has potential but it hasn’t realised it yet.

My mum loves the prepared meals from here, particularly the beef stroganoff. Best to check on the Facebook page for menu of the week and to pre order to be sure you will get what you want as they can go fast! Frozen and chilled options. Haven't tried the sit-in service yet.

Good food and pleasant service.

Quirky place and not necessarily in a good way. The place is a bit odd if I’m honest. The service is slow and seemed quite strained! The food although ok, could and should be much better considering the size of the menu. If you need a quick bite then it will suffice but it’s aimed at a certain sort of clientele that clearly like it as it was busy, it just wasn’t for us.

Five of us called in for a light lunch. Really fresh and tasty. We then had deserts. Awesome! Properly home made ! It's like a step back in time but in a good way. Just give it a try!

Visited here with a few friends for after tea after hearing that the good were baked in house, arrived around 3pm (2 hours before closing) to find that out of the whole menu on offer I have a choice of “Queen of puddings” or Swiss roll and that was it to share between four people. Service was poor, very old fashioned place which smelt like a nursing home, toilets were like something out of an asylum, you won’t sit too long there as they were freezing! I decided I would try the “queen of puddings”, sponge and jam in the base of a tea cup with a meringue on top, suppose to be served warm but was cold... overall not somewhere I would consider returning too. Nothing ventured nothing gained! Probably more suited to age 65+

I have just had the most delicious open sandwich with the best side salad ever today! Lots of little salads not just a daube of coleslaw and lettuce. The staff are very friendly and the building is so cute. There is a wonderful variety of breads and cakes to take away. So worth a visit.

Great lunch time! Friendly and helpful staff. All homemade! Perfect for a lunch with little kids. They shared a meal that comes with rice, steamed vegetables and mashed potatoes. Small poney outside that can be fed after lunch.

Ever wanted to step into the land that time forgot? Open the doors of Strawberry Fayre and you're transported to an earlier time, a time where things were done properly and the pace of life was slower. This is my happy place that I come to when I want to forget the world, and indeed the current calendar year. Food is simple and tasty. The way vegetable sides are are served is simply adorable: a small selection of different boiled veg in a tiny little side plate. Make sure to pick up one of their take home cakes to go with you.
