Hello, I’ve been a client at this caffe and me and my family loved it. Such a shame it’s closed down now. I wanted to check if you open a cafe somewhere else because we would love to visit it .Thank you 😊

This is a most decent and stylish place at barking station. I have always enjoyed there hot chocolate and home made cakes. Their vegetarian sandwiches are great. They used to have great selection of books not much left now and the impressive thing was they offered free tea and coffee for needy and homeless at barking station. Thank you to lovely people who are making sure they provide the best from their cosy and comfortable cafe

I'm honest, I had poor expectations for a coffee shop inside a tube station but this one deserves definitely 5 stars. Really good coffee, nice food and the guys are friendly and easy going.

Really delicious coffee - not just for Barking, but for London. A lovely friendly casual atmosphere with lovely staff. I must go back for food as the recent reviews are all good.

I just want to back the manager of this place up a bit.The food is delicious and the staff are very friendly. However, the place is in a train station. It wants to maintain an ordered, peaceful, relaxing atmosphere for its customers. I too have seen the manager being confrontational but it is not a waiting room or somewhere to drop off your luggage.People who run these small businesses have a really hard job and every day is survival. I admire them for taking a pride in what they offer. The manager won't suffer fools but that's not a bad thing.

Storky's is run by a great young couple who are always very welcoming. The food and drinks are exceptional, not least if you are vegetarian. Great coffee, great smoothies. Lovely comfortable lounge area at the back, with books to sit and read - never any rush to "get you through and get you out". I always go there when I am in Barking, and make it my go-to place to meet friends. DO try it out.

Do not enter into this cafe. The owner of the place is absolutely horrendous. He was absolutely rude and kicked me out, all because I was waiting for a client that I support. The owner said I quote “you sitting here without ordering is not going to pay my bills” I told the owner that I am waiting for a client I support and then I will order some food and drinks. The owner still kicked me out.

We have been to this coffee shop a few times now and have always found the food to be nice (if a little on the expensive side). Upon visiting today, however, we witnessed a negative exchange between the owner and a customer which has made us feel very awkward about going back. A senior lady came into the cafe and sat down at one of the tables. The owner who was behind the counter informed her quite loudly that she would have to come over to the counter to order anything and she told him she was waiting for her friend. He very curtly told her that she would have to buy something then if she wanted to stay (and said this for all of the cafe to hear). This clearly embarrassed her and made her feel quite unwelcome, as she got up and had to hover outside the door of the cafe waiting for her friend. Her friend finally did arrive, and at this point the manager tried to justify his actions. By this point it was too late and the lady and her friend had been made too uncomfortable to stay and they left (I don’t blame them!)I appreciate that as a small business you don’t want people lingering at your tables, but it’s completely normal for people to sit down at tables before ordering and not to come straight up to the counter. It’s also completely normal and to be expected that your cafe might be a meeting point for people. The manager could have dealt with this in a much more discreet way. Instead he chose to almost shout across the cafe, embarrass this prospective customer and make the rest of his customers feel awkward when they were eating their lunch. I’m not sure that we’ll be coming back after this. They also seem to have a bit of an issue with flies. Whilst you’re eating you spend the whole time batting them away from your food.

Went with a friend for brunch as we were in the area for the day. It’s well hidden inside Barking train station but it is amazing. The staff are friendly. There is so much to choose from, food, coffees (and good coffee), smoothies and juices. Lots of cakes although we didn’t try those. We had a smoothie, juice and coffee between us and we each got a pretzel bagel, one with halloumi and the other with bacon. They were both great. The prices are so cheap too for what they do. It’s an amazing find!

I can't sing this place's praises enough! It's not somewhere you're sure about to look at, but those are always the best places. Beautiful cakes and pastries, sandwiches, loads of salad, very friendly staff and service, top quality coffee (forget Costa across the road) and an unusual setting in a train station. It's shabby chic, but that's part of the appeal.I suspect within 5 years Barking will be so gentrified that somewhere like this won't stand out at all, as there'll be the bike cafes and hipsters everywhere. This is the first step in that direction for Barking, before we get sick of it...so enjoy it before it all gets too samey. They even have a loyalty card too, and the prices are reasonable for the portion sizes.

I came here once before but since December the coffee shop changed hands and has been reborn - what a difference. The new owner is a delight; happy to chat to you and genuinely cares about the residents (has a smile on his face even when giving directions to passers by). The coffee was far better than what’s available elsewhere and the food was fresh and generous. Those little bits all add up and show his attention to detail. A side salad that arrived with my toastie was blessed with a variety of seeds and balsamic and not a morsel was left.

Storky is located right at Barking station. It's pretty spacious, the seats are comfortable and the staff are very nice. They serve good coffee and the best halloumi buns in London, so make sure you stop by if you're in the area!

After a matinee at The Broadway Theatre in Barking, I decided to pop into Storky for a take away tea for my journey home. It's such a lovely welcoming place, I even noticed some people having a business meeting in the sofa area so locals use it for more than just take away.

Nice place inside with a collection of antique furniture and a piano (that doesn't work). Lots of books to read and trade. Coffee tastes really nice but is a bit expensive with sandwiches starting from £5. Bit expensive.

I popped into the coffee shop one busy morning while on the way to work. They were able to offer dairy alternatives at no extra cost. The coffee was a little more expensive compared to surrounding places however with the great attitude of staff members and a lovely cup of coffee i felt more than happy to pay more towards a local business.

I cannot believe that no one has reviewed this Coffee Shop!!!! I meet here with friends and family and I can honestly say it's one of The Best coffee shops in the area. The atmosphere and style of the shop is Cosy Welcoming and extremely well priced. The staff here really do go out of their was to your stay extremely welcoming. It's decor is mix matched with great odd tables and mixed chairs, there is also a enormous range of reading material, you really do feel like your in a quaint cottage. Wide range of Coffee and cake and short eats. I recommend this place to everybody, it's not expensive and it's all fresh beats Costa, Starbucks and all the other impersonal expensive coffee shops. Well worth a visit, have a coffee chill and read a book,

Support black business, they always say. But our black business owners don’t give you reasons for you to support their businesses. It doesn’t take a lot to be nice to your customers, it feels nice to be nice especially when someone pay you to your establishment. Even though we over charge for something, the service doesn’t match the price. Y’all need to do better.

I’ve been a regular visitor to Chequers Corner Brewers Fayre, and it’s always a fantastic experience. The food is consistently very good, and you can tell great care goes into preparing each dish. The staff are always so friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home. The value for money is excellent, which keeps me coming back time and again. On this visit, the carvery was especially good – the meat was tender, the vegetables were perfectly cooked, and everything was fresh and delicious. It’s such a reliable place to enjoy a meal, and I can’t recommend it highly enough! Looking forward to my next visit.

My colleague and I enjoyed a lovely meal, a large section of cakes, the main issue is trying to decide which homemade cake to choose.
