Have just got back from Asda went for price drop fosters which should have been £12 but they were still selling them at £15 . Had to argue the point with a woman called Debbie who was quiet rude and wit it take on board when I told her I had just come from Asda in whalebone lane who had the right price but she said not all stores charge the same. So had to call for the manager who took his time but did admit the price was wrong. So how many customers have been overcharged by £3 a case for some time

If I could I won't give a single star. Even when I'm going in quiet time it takes ages to pay for shopping. Self-serve tils for trolleys tend to have a problems, you have to wait for assistance, often there is no assistance, no one to help you. If there is ONE which is not enough to do your shopping smoothly without waiting 5-10 minutes for nothing.

Order Merrielands Cres, Dagenham RM9 6SJ Delivery refunds are declined after damaged goods are returned to drivers.Peperami Hot 5 Pack 5x22.5, Walkers Doritos Cool Original Multipack Tortilla Chips 5x30g X2, Asda Stuffed Crust Double Pepperoni Pizza 460g, ES STIR FRY, GS Salad Cress. 2 drivers turned up at nearly 11PM(due at 8PM) with 2 of the delivery trays covered in spilt double cream and actimel yoghurt from busted containers. Fresh veg was damaged and most of the order appeared "knocked about" during the journey. They made no attempt at my door to put refunds through for items returned to them. Online the following day I tried unsuccessfully to get refunds and was "declined".As a disabled person I cannot afford to pay asda prices for stuff I did not get. Misogynistic attitudes from recent drivers and refund call centre staff with unintelligible foreign accents who say their supervisor will call back and don't is NOT acceptable.

What a shame of having this type of staff in Dagenham store for Asda it’s a Big name but it’s really disappointing experience I had from this store I bought eggs from this store on 4th sep those was expired from 15th august I went back to return customer service person was soo rude and disrespectful you must have cctv I was so humbled and was requested for refund which she refused as on that day wasn’t able to take receipt on 4th sep. The staff and customer service at Asda Merilands Dagenham are very rude, unhelpful and disrespectful. I have experienced the worst level of bad behaviour by customer service staff at Scan & Go and when I tried to submit a formal complaint about the rude staff, I was told that he was the sectio manager (Gary). Clearly, he is not suitable for a customer facing role and should be removed from the frontline. I will not go to Asda again and will suggest everyone to avoid Asda in general and Dagenham Asda in particular. Worst staff behaviour and arrogant with customer.

Revisited ASDA today. Hot day, plenty of people wanting beer and BBQ stuff. Got to the till, the queue was up the aisle for the self checkout and staffed tills. Got on a self checkout (12 tills staffed by one person) and had to wait 20 mins along with 7 other people while the staff member scanned every item for a single customer!! Where was the floor manager or queue busters to stop this problem? Complete lack of management or customer service, better off going Aldi over the road at least you'll be through the till in under a hour!!

Just moved to the area, and I can honestly say that this is the worst Asda I have been to for a while. Queue, queue, and queue sum up this Asda, very rude security, and I wanted to get a meal deal for lunch. All of the cooling units were off, so please 🙏 avoid buying a meal deal unless you want to risk getting sick.

Go to Asda in a regular basis, always use scan and go!!! Today I scanned ALL my shopping, but, at checkout, had a random check, definitely not a problem. Then it was pointed out that I hadn’t scanned a product..99% sure I had, but apparently not. All my shopping was rescanned, but, when I went to pay, I was told in no uncertain terms I couldn’t pay with cash… I was just getting my card out but the checkout lady had looked in my purse, saw there was cash, and again informed me I couldn’t pay with cash. To start off with why was she even looking in my purse and 3 times I told her I was paying with a card. I appreciate that this was a random scan and I had absolutely nothing to hide, the lady made me feel that I’d been deliberately shoplifting, not a nice feeling.

I am writing this whilst I am still standing in the checkout queue (no.3). We have shopped and have a full trolley and when finished joined the queue for the single open till. After 15 mins we asked a supervisor and was advised of a shortage of staff. Then someone arrived at till 6 and opened it - a queue formed leaving us and the other customers to continue to stand in line or join another queue.... Basically abysmal customer service for the purchasers.... still here. Update. Just got home and from the receipt we were charged an additional £14.50 for a second case of corona that we never had. Am contacting the store now

Absolutely the worse place to shop. Not a single till open, only self check outs. I’m disabled and have a sling and cast on my arm and had to ask a stranger to help pack the shopping due to only having self check outs with no staff. The women who are “here to help” are stress to the heights as the self check outs keep not recognising items, so nobody can continue with their shopping without calling the POOR woman over. 8 check outs all needing help she’s on her own, customers are getting stressed customers getting upset and angry. Then you go to the lottery desk and there are 15 people in the queue and this lady is also by herself with no help. It’s clearly the management that need to sort this as it’s not the staff who are unable to cope. MANAGER SORT YOUR STORE OUT AND MANAGE YOURE STAFF CORRECTLY

Visited the customer service counter at the store yesterday afternoon and was asked by a member of staff to wait as the customer service lady was in the back office. No problem, waited very patiently in silence for around 30 mins without any further questions. When the customer service assistant (blonde lady) finally appeared, her colleague told her I had been waiting to be served. She asked me to move from the counter as she was dealing with someone else. ‘Can you move from here I need this til, I am dealing with someone else’. I asked her how long it would take, and whether it would be worth me coming back later. She very abruptly and condescendingly said ‘as long as it takes’. Another customer behind me became impatient (she’d also been waiting a very long time) and she shouted at her - ‘don’t you huff and puff at me, this is customer service and I’m dealing with something complex so step back’ I left to pick up a collection, and when I came back I waited another 10 mins before she served me. But not before shouting at the poor customer in front of me for putting her pin in too soon. She began speaking slowly and in an exaggerated way because the lady in front of me was Chinese. As an ethnic minority myself this lady made me feel so uncomfortable. I was feeling very unwell yesterday as I was in pain, so I didn’t have the strength to argue. I’m genuinely disgusted by what I saw and experienced yesterday. Her rudeness and attitude was so unbelievably shocking. She was rude to me; but not nearly as rude as she was to the lady infront of me. If I wasn’t feeling so unwell I would’ve kicked off there and then. If she’s this comfortable being condescending, demeaning and rude to her customers so openly infront of her colleagues - she has been getting away with it too long. Working in retail is hard, but if you behave like that a customer facing job is not the place for you. When I got to my car I opened the parcel I collected in store. It was missing pieces so I went back into store to let them know and ask if I could get a replacement since I was already instore. They said no i could only return it via the hatch. So no exchange, only a parcel return. Okay; no problem. I then asked for some tape so I could close up the parcel and pop it in the returns hatch - refused to give me any cellotape. You make mistakes and pack orders wrong, and then expect me to do what? Either buy tape or drive home, tape it up and then come back? They’ve lost their minds.

At Dagenham superstore the self checkout machines have a problem accepting coins for payment. I have brought it to the attention of staff many times but still nothing has changed. This time I had to be walked to a manned till so I could pay. That's just ridiculous! Also, the store is a mess and stock levels are poor. Clearly the manager has no control over this site. Pull your socks up Asda. Aldi are about to overtake you.

Remember coming to this store a lot with my parents in 1990s and early 2000s and was a really decent store back then. Sadly this place has really gone to pot in recent years, the place is now an absolute mess! The selection is good granted they have it in stock but so often they don't as the shelves are always gutted out especially in the produce and chilled section, all the shelves are so messy with empty cardboard everywhere looks like a bomb has gone off! They've spent money on a recent refurb but clearly haven't on staff as I almost never see any staff working stock on the shop floor, you need staff in a big and busy store like this all the time to constantly replenish shelves, rumble and decard to keep the store looking well stocked and tidy. The lack of actual people on the tils as well is shocking, you're lucky to see 2 or 3 on there at best leading to long lines forcing you to use the shelf serve where only 1 person is on one and today they didn't even have any bags and you can't seem to buy any strong bags anywhere in the store, what on earth is that all about!?? The other entrance near the bus stop and retail park is now closed off forcing you to walk down the other end along the narrow walk way trying to avoid other people, if you're going to spend money on a refresh why not move the entrance to the centre of the store giving everyone a even length to travel into?? It is so poorly planned and laid out that you couldn't make it up, it is such a mess! It isn't just a one off either as it's been like this every time I've gone there over the last few years, Romford is a little better but still has the same issues just not quite as bad. Think I'm being generous with 1 star if I could go any lower I would. Go Tesco or Sainsburys instead.

It absolutely grieves me to click one star as this store simply doesn’t deserve it. How can so many members of staff be so rude, disgruntled and unhelpful? The store is forever in a state of ‘restocking’ regardless of time of day; I suggest if the staff spent less time huddled in two’s and three’s chatting and moaning this would be a more productive and well stocked store. I have been taking photos for a few months, as this complaint is by no means a ‘one off’, it is the culture of this store; staff blocking aisles because they are chatting with each other constantly, while their large cages/trollleys block the aisles and I seen and have photos of fresh food on the floor with staff walking past and doing nothing about it. I pointed out that a whole row of fresh food was way out of date and the member of staff replied ‘oh is it’. The security guard is clearly profiling customers with the old ‘can I see your receipt’ and this profiling is not based on on the ASCONE protocol (I doubt he even knows what that is) I personally will NOT be showing my receipt ever again - learn the law - your receipt belongs to you and if you have not stolen anything, let them call the police - the security guard’s attitude and behaviour at Dagenham Asda Merrielands, is lazy, unprofessional and ignorant - he too spends most of his time chatting with staff when he’s not targeting decent law abiding shoppers of course. In summary, this Asda store is awful, staff rude and act as if they don’t want to be and definitely don’t want to help customers. I am sending all my photos, complaints and evidence to trading standards and retailADR.

It is one of my go to places for groceries. A very large store, well spaced isles, good signage, and supported by ample parking, car wash, a Timpsons, a petrol station. My interaction with its staff was pretty good. Their hot food section is good and quite affordable.

ASDA's system: SCAN & WASTE your time. Or SCAN & START AGAIN FROM ZERO. At 5PM, Sunday, instead of just scan a barcode and pay in less than 1 min. at Scan & Go, they just preferred to close it and send people to queue with full baskets at regular tills where to offload all the trolleys, scan again all the products one by one, put everything again in bags etc. What's the point of Scan&Go if you force people to scan everything again, manually, one by one? Why would the staff decide to waste more of the people time, like 20 times more? Instead of 30 secund for a Scan & Pay? Just because they can?

Big store, and you'll find everything you need. However today I had a horrible experience thanks to TWO members of staff. I simply wanted to exchange two 50p coins to get a pound coin, so that I could get a trolley to put my 2 year old child in and shop comfortably. Instead both members of staff gave me a rude, uninterested response (both were cashiers). If there's a valid reason for why they couldn't, they simply needed to explain in a gentle and empathetic way, especially when you can see I have a child with me, or go the extra mile to help me. Ended up having to carry a basket full of shopping and carrying my child everywhere instead.

It had been a long time since we last visited. There used to be a cafe where we could sit and eat. Unfortunately, they have removed this feature, and now they serve various ready-to-eat hot and cold foods, but there is no chance to sit and consume them. Tables and chairs have been removed, and of course, this was a disappointment for us. We bought halal-cut meat and left. Generally, this place is not much different from any Asda supermarket, but they consistently have halal-cut products. Halal, especially chicken meat, is always available, which is not the case in every Asda. I think they keep it to meet the demand and supply in the region where there is a dense population of communities that consume halal products. The cafeteria, which is important for us, is no longer there, so there is no reason for us to go back.

Unprofessional and ruth security team... The alarm rang, the security pulled the trolley from my husband's hand and pushed him into back. (I don't know the name, he couldn't say, Stancy the manager also didn't tell me, the same answer...) Security kept the trolley in his side...as he confiscated our items we paid for it and he checked 4 times the same item... I went to his colleague and asked him to call the manager. The security answered us that it is crowded and the manager is too busy, in a ruth way. He gives us a paper to write down the phone number in order to call us. I went to an Asda staff and asked if is possible to call the manager. Security started yelling at me in front of all the customers, and he continued screaming for more then 5 minute, everyone looked at us... never happened in my life. ...... Avoid Asda Dagenham!

I was really annoyed at this Asda today . Only one till open , and a queue of people with filled trolleys. People were saying more than one till should be open, there are self service tills but would rather have a cashier as trolley was full . After waiting some time I asked if another till could be opened and the reply by the 2 staff members was , they can’t it’s up to the manager , yet there were at least 3 workers standing around at the self service tills talking . I said “why can’t one of them get on a till as people are walking out”. . The reply was , talk to the manager who was nowhere to be seen.If anyone was thinking of going don’t bother , as I and another lady in the queue said we won’t be back. Tesco open a till if more than 2 people are waiting straight away , and that’s where I’m taking my custom in future . Happy to help, it says on the uniform , absolutely not .

There were no "manned" checkouts open so forced to do self serve. 3 ladies supposedly there to help shoppers but who were all standing around chatting & when you dared to ask for help they just said " wait a minute", when I'd already waited several. Absolutely appalling service.

I went to ASDA to buy groceries for a house party. Very happy with everything I bought. Very friendly staff members. One of the staff members(sha) helped me find exactly what I was looking for and went out of his way to help. Very satisfied experience!

Careful people with Asda when you buy everything by weight, basically you pay double, just pay 6 bananas for the price of 2kg (at home it weight 984 grams)as it said on the machine 😅 I asked the lady this may be an error but she canceled and weighed again. Good job Asda by doing this on this hard times people are living it 👏👏👏👏

Absolutely appalling service. I ordered a Just Eat delivery of FOUR items at 11.50am this morning. It’s now 4.30pm and I’m still being told on the app that the courier has arrived - this has been going on for four plus hours now and I’m still waiting. There’s no way to contact anyone at the shop or with Just Eat, either. No way to cancel it. Ridiculous. Don’t order anything online from ASDA. They’re a joke.

Walked in today to buy some Easter eggs if there were any left. I met a lovely lady who worked there who took time off what she was doing to show me where they were located. She was extremely helpful but I don't know her name. I bought a lot of eggs and could not have done it without her help. The store has good customer service abd is massive so you can probably get all your shopping done. However since its busy you have to be a little careful walking around pallets or cages and may encounter a spill on the floor. Also, Asda prices aren't so low!!

Had a horrible experience during checkout. I was still deciding which clothes I was planning to take, I putting some on the till and passed the rest over to the cashier who served me, Cristina. Absolutely no confusion or mishaps during this transaction I was simply still deciding. Without overwhelming her I decided to put the clothes I didn't take back, without leaving a heap of clothes for her. A cashier from the adjacent till named Jessica kept urging Cristina to take the clothes from us, count them and check our things. We were all confused because there was nothing of the sort to call for this kind of behaviour! Nonetheless we didn't hesitate and told them it was perfectly fine if they wanted to double check. Jessica called the supervisor and told them we were confusing HER and she felt as though our items had to be thoroughly checked. At this point we urged them to do it so as to not look like thieves! It was completely uncalled for and strange for a cashier who has absolutely nothing to do with a transaction behaving this way. Cristina even justified to the supervisor that all items were scanned and there was nothing to worry about to which they no longer checked or carried on with protocol. All that faff for nothing! Insane nosey woman! Had a chat with the supervisor later who completely understood how we felt and agreed she was not in a position to do that. Not going back there any time soon.

Support black business, they always say. But our black business owners don’t give you reasons for you to support their businesses. It doesn’t take a lot to be nice to your customers, it feels nice to be nice especially when someone pay you to your establishment. Even though we over charge for something, the service doesn’t match the price. Y’all need to do better.
