Love what these guys have done to the pub, put in a lot of effort. Well Done!! Keep it up.

The venue was average, realised name change, and under new management(was called King Lounge) Wanted to reserve a table before we but told the cut-off time was finished(before 9 p.m.)as we were caught up in bad weather. Arrived and venue was not that busy!! Waiting time on food order took a while. The food was okay; it could have been better. Music was good and was a great selection from DJ.

Had a wonderful time, the staff where so hospitable, lovely vibe.

Me and my 2 friends were asked for entrance fee tonight at the main entrance from the security guys and many people were going in without fee. Security guys said that go to the cash machine and get us £10 each. Maybe we were Asians and others were not so he only asked us. Management needs to take notice! The security guys are robing customers!

It’s actually a Nigerian club. It was fireeee, dj was fireeeee. At first, they were playing old skool songs. Man, I was confused, until I started hearing “sungba” omooooo everywhere scatter. I was just very excited and had so much fun. There’s a bar, obviously. Erm they didn’t ask me for my ID, but I carried just in case. Erm there’s a hotel too, bc no trains were running by that time of the night. The hotel was a rip off. 85 pounds! Because it was rush hour(rolling my eyes). But it was fun.

Dear Sir/Madam, I am sorry to say that I had a very poor experience at Kings Lounge in Barking, London, UK. Despite having visited the restaurant before, I was very disappointed with the service provided on this occasion, and it is unlikely that I will be returning. While the food was acceptable, the service was below standard. The server did not explain the price of the fish, and when we received the bill, we questioned the total. The manager who came to speak with us was unsympathetic to our confusion and instead accused us of lying about not being informed of the price. Despite our insistence that we were not told, the server lied and said he had explained that the price of the fish depends on the size of the fish available that day. We asked to speak to the owner, but even after explaining the situation to him, he made little effort to rectify the problem and only offered a small discount which we declined. Our issue was not about getting a discount but rather about not being informed of the prices, which were different from those on the menu. To make matters worse, the manager's behaviour was provocative and inflammatory, which escalated the situation unnecessarily. As my party and I were leaving the restaurant, the manager decided to shout out, "Goodbye, Aunty," which was an unnecessarily sarcastic and provocative statement. I found this to be completely uncalled for, and it left a sour taste in my mouth. As a black Nigerian business owner myself, I understand the difficulties that come with running a business, and I know that sometimes the customer is not always right. However, the way in which the manager and owner handled the situation demonstrates their lack of concern for their reputation and brand image. This is particularly disappointing, as I value the importance of a good reputation and brand image in any business. Overall, I was utterly disappointed with the treatment I received at Kings Lounge. I will never step foot in there again, nor would I ever recommend anyone to visit there. It is a shame that the management team could not handle the situation with more professionalism and respect for their customers. Sincerely, Esther

Great selection of drinks ! Asian male staff, not very helpful. The female staff member 💯

Went there with friends for after party and a bouncer tried to eject me for no valid reason, the head bouncer had to interven and let me back in but but night was spoilt by then. I won't be going back there because there's a chance I'll do something stupid.

Cool African pub and restaurant

Never been to a Nigerian bar before. Great atmosphere and BBQ lamb, what's not to like!

The atmosphere is good if you are looking to unwind and listen to good music. Only let down is their food service, ordered my food , waited for 1hr and 40mins and no update on what was going on before I cancelled. If you want to chill, cool but if you want to eat, make sure you have a snack before ordering.

Great place to be for good African experience. African food, drinks and music.

It's true what Influencers have said. This is a lounge for people who love African culture, especially Nigerian culture. The suya is nice and soft but a little too fatty for my liking. If you go with the right people or meet friendly people, you'll be drinking bottle on bottle of alcohol. The vibe is right, be prepared for a night of solely Afrobeats and overly friendly African men.

Good pub with fantastic food even though I had to Google what was on the menu as I wasn't sure what i was looking at. I had the edikang ikong with beef and fried yams and really enjoyed it. The hots sauce was beautiful.

I ordered eforiro and pounded yam to collect, and then had a large glass of wine and a Guinness from the draft for my friend and the dishonest thieving bar staff over charged me £28. I then got overcharged £15 for a lamb surya which is ridiculous and dishonest. The owner seems to have dishonest, thieving bar staff working for him. I will be dealing with them about this cos I don’t work hard for my money to be ripped off by dishonest workers who cannot even speak a word of English. This is appalling and I will be dealing with them accordingly and hit those pockets. They will understand what the legal ramifications are when they receive a letter from my lawyer. Will not be visiting this horrid place ever again. It’s like the ghetto of Barking with riff raffs, rude staff and small portions at an exorbitant overcharged price. Avoid, avoid, avoid.

King's lounge was absolutely fantastic. It's been a while I partied with Africans and it was so nice to see so many people turn up with Nigerian hits playing back to back. The DJ was great as well and they were a lot of foreigners dancing to our beats so that made my night. I'm definitely going back there soon again for an awesome night out. If you want to have a fun night out, visit King's Lounge.

Went with some friends a few weeks ago. Staff was polite. Music mediocre, need some more reggae and r&b. The ladies bathroom is awful. Yuck. It smells and is old. Invest some money in the amenities it's not just about making money. It's the small things and a smelly, nasty toilet puts you in a bad mood.

Its practical. Good Nigerian food i in London. However, its is unsuitable for people who are in the hotel rooms and just want to sleep in on Fridays and Saturdays as the pub is usually too busy on those days.

It is located close enough to the station and main bus stops to be convenient if you need to hang around. However it is in full view of all the shop lifters, druggies and even some of the more undesirables known to loiter in the claustrophobic locale of Barking. Not nice. Go once and find out for yourself.

A great sports bar really chilled out place but it gets lively around 9pm.

Visited again after a long time. Full to capacity, music blasting and a general fun-filled atmosphere. The food was good - I had white rice and assorted meat peppersoup. Service was quick too - didn't wait long before the food arrived and that makes all the difference when you are ravenous.

Came from Manchester to visit, no hospitality offered, had to go to the bar to order even though it should have been table service and all they played was Russian music 😠 not sure what that was about

It is lovely place to relax, and to have all kinds of Africans dishes.

A meeting for Africans from Barking and London in the broad sense! We eat cleanly, well and a lot. You can even order specialties sometimes. In advance of course. The place has been able to adapt to the environment and continues to renew itself. A must-see in the neighborhood. Ps: the music is a +++

Food was good and affordable. However, dancing not allowed last night in order to maintain safety.

The lounge was full so we had to go to the garden. It was quite warm, you forget you are outdoors. Buzzing, well dressed and young crowd. Good Nigerian food. DJ was rather annoying.

Some friends and I went to the new makeshift garden space for an event on Bank Holiday Monday and the space is cool. My issue is that it was raining and the rain was splashing on everyone through the gaps, if you were near a gutter (which was on the inside). There were at least 2 water leaks and they started drilling a above peoples heads while they were sat there. It’s almost like they knew was gonna happen, uncle was on standby in his hi vis and hardware... not a good look. Also the food is nice but not isn’t worth the price.

For the best African cuisine and music in barking

The food and general vibe was nice. Its somewhere to go and just eat and hang out with friends. Its not pretty looks wise, so if you're expecting a restaurant this isn't that. We did have to ask for our food a few times but they apologised at the end which was nice. They were quite busy when I went there. I'd definitely go again go eat with friends.

Expensive and the Ethiopian lady is rude

The prices of food and drinks have increased. How can starters (Lamb Taba- £13) cost more than a main meal? (Jollof rice- £12) absolutely crazy. I reluctantly paid £9 for a bottle of Orijin, what a joke. The Ethiopian lady lacks communication skills, rude and inadequate.

An extraordinary experience. Busola's our waitress was extremely hospitable and a fresh breathe of air. This restaurant is highly recommended.

You can't fault the isi ewu. It was amazing definitely going back 😉
