It's a nice pub. Great choice of drinks and great range of food. A very well done for introducing some special dishes such as MOMO and dried Meat. Unconventional to the pubs menu but really nice. Recommendable to everyone to try out....

Cheap drink, friendly enough service but we were really surprised at the food. It’s basic pub grub but they have street food and Indian food on there too. I wouldn’t say it’s 5star but it’s quite nice. Cocktails served warm which is a shame but maybe it was just a busy day. We went twice and would return

Pub was OK . Had to return a pint of Doombar as it was off but alternative offered with no quibbles. Food very cheap.

It's all about the atmosphere at the Barking Dog. Before you even step in, you'll be met by Charlie. He comes with the pub. Charlie is usually blasting unusually good dnb and pop on his speaker, and may offer to suck you off for a fiver. He's truly the heart of this establishment. Now the best area is of course the beer garden. The security tried to kick some guy out because he was slicing salami on a chopping board, until he was offered a piece. The salami was so good that the salami man was pardoned, now that security guard is truly the digestive system of this establishment. The salami was so damn good that the guard proceeded to lift the pub anvil. You should go to the beer garden just to try to lift the anvil, it's a tradition.

Debido a que el pub está dividido en dos, a veces los camareros al situarse al otro lado de la pared, no ven que hay clientes esperando, pero pese a ese pequeño defecto por lo demás es un buen sitio para beber.

Used to be the best pub in barking, but now it’s full of bums, went in the other day for the final but left before the game even kicked off. Must be new owners because it wasn’t like this 10+ years ago.

Quite a large pub but it lacked atmosphere although it was Mobday night to be fair. It may be worth another look on another day.

Bit run down but service is good.

I give five stars here to the chef. We took a menu expecting tropical pub food (nothing wrong with that at all) and it had a lot of Indian dishes on it.. we tried them, they were great. Great naan and the jalfrezi was very tasty.

I like the vibe in this pub and the staff are always very good. However the gentleman's toilets are disgusting and I never see any of the staff regularly cleaning or checking them. On Saturday the 5th of November a discarded nappy was in the men's toilet all night on the floor, plus no toilet paper. Absolutely vile. Went in there this evening 29/04/23 and I noticed the beers had gone up in price by quite a lot. My partner said they went up a couple of weeks ago. £10.60 is way too much for two pints of Kronenberg. Time to leave this nice place and wait for cheaper beers when the spoon opens. Also the toilets are still disgusting so have taken it down a star. Great while it lasted.

Classic East London pub near the Barking station. Tough working class blokes, okay beers, good Nepalese momos, which worth traveling from West London for.

Love this place. It's not the nicest part of London and there are very few pubs dotted about but you don't need any others because this is one of the best about. Good staff, really cheap pints for London and sport shown on multiple screens. Unpretentious, lots of locals here, good entertainment rooms for events etc and they do decent pub nights too. Just outside the station. Whenever in the area I'll pop in for a pint or two.

The manager is friendly and accommodating. We had a party held there for one of our client and the venue, service and food did not disappoint us. Good value for money. I'm so glad we had the party there. Thank you tother manager and staff. We have a lovely day.

I have used this pub over the years, albeit every now and then. This used to be a somewhat conservative establishment that was renowned for being on the expensive side, despite being virtually next door to a large Wetherspoons. However, it has been under new ownership for the past couple of years and has changed considerably. Prices have been reduced to a sensible level, food is more readily available and the staff seem pleasant, as does the clientele. I particularly like the ''Sea Fury'' real ale they serve and will continue to use this watering hole whenever I am in the Barking vicinity.

Very nice pub with very nice food, only criticism if you call it one, might just be personal preference.. the chicken in the tikka masala was nice but very fatty/gristly. Would recommend going!

We went to eat a meal. Having read the menu and ordered a meal. An hour later the meal was delivered, the cod and chips was small and I left hungry. My wife had a steak, but no one knew about gluten problems. We will never eat here again.

+ the price of beer, and a big choice of beer - we ordered a dish of a mix chicken wings etc. wich is listed as a portion for 2 person, its definitly not, it seemed as even less than a portion for one, and automatcly owerpayd for that. Rice is not included in the price of chicken tikka masala, and definitly does not justify the price for that quality of rice. In conclusion, i reccomend it for a drink, but for now, not for food...

Dreadful place. Wish I could give zero stars. Bad food, bad beer, worse service. Ordered two pints and two Southern fried chicken burgers. Was told to give numbers like a kebab shop rather than menu items. Both pints were poor tasting, on a beer I regularly drink. The burger was a plain chicken breast, chips were luke warm, and when I asked for sauce they did not return and had to ask again twice. Very disappointed

I was there killing a bit of time in Barking, waiting for a friend. It seemed like a nice pub, a mixture of people from various backgrounds. It wasn't expensive, and the bar staff were friendly.

Great atmosphere and staff, great curry and great DJ altogether brilliant evening.

Good local pub. Plenty of screens to watch sport etc. The beer is well looked after and we got a friendly welcome for the locals that we spoke to.Food is available too.

no cask ale. pub has gone downhill (edited May 2022, apparently cask Coming soon, Sharps brewery) Edited, 25th May. Sharps Doombar, Sharps Sea Fury on cask. Atlantic pale ale keg. Much improved 👌

They dont have price list for drinks and charging people by the level how drunk they are i paid for a pint of beer in a plastic glass 12 pounds never coming back scum bags

Decent pub but get rid of the village idiot who persists in shouting whooh the fool ruins the pub. Hes an absolute embarrassment and peeved everyone off not wanting to return

Stopped here to meet up with friends for lunch. Very friendly bar staff particularly the young lady, nice atmosphere and quick service. Good range of beers and lagers and a food menu with the usual suspects plus some Indian street food. We had fish & chips, scampi & chips and lamb samosas. Above average quality and nicely presented. Only surprise was the absence of a dessert menu which seemed strange. Would use again.

People are frendly, easy to get services from the bar or great food. Good seating inside or outside.

A great experience. Food was pretty good. Atmosphere electric especially for the cup final. I was in a group of 8 people and I must say the regulars here were a great bunch. We all had a great night.

Wife said ladies toilets are disgusting . You need to be dressed for winter as they haven't heard of turning the heating on. Used to be ok for a couples night out but now all sport and noise no atmosphere at all. Please at least have 1 area without sport so noisy we used to come regularly come again today but will not come back. The room outback could be sport free you'd find you get more couples and families coming.

Only visited once, no drama and beer was good tasting.

Pub is much improved over the past couple of months. Much clean. More seating in the beer garden. Relaxed atmosphere. And excellent food with a variety of Indian dishes and burger meals on the menu. Keep it up

Always have a good time here. Nice regulars, great staff and management are very personable. Doubles up as a mini club downstairs when busy enough. Well worth a bash if you somehow find yourself in Barking looking for a tipple.

Convenient as next to Barking Station. Only one open now as Wetherspoons is now closed.

A complete joke. Booked a table in person at 5.15pm to watch the semi final against Denmark at 7.30. Turned up at 7.25 to be told that too many people had turned up and my table (which I had been shown earlier) had been taken. Was shown downstairs where a member of staff plonked a chair right in front of a large white pillar (no table) and told to sit there...."just the same as upstairs". Thanks a lot.

Food downstairs in the beer garden great as usual. Kids eat for £2 and very decent prices on adults meals. Service upstairs is quite slow but overall nice atmosphere and food.

Staff are rude and glasses are dirty. The only good thing about this gaff is they have music on a Friday.

I've had good nights in there. But! When you ask for a large jd and pepsi, or any drink similar. They give you such a small glass. And charge you nearly £5. Yet wetherspoons give you a much bigger glass. Talk about take the mick. Pubs like this are rather expensive

Lovely barmaid set the tone for this deceptively large, well appointed pub. Nice beer garden at the back. Interesting Czech beer on draft.

What to do on a hot afternoon in London? Take the air-conditioned district line to Barking, turn left on leaving the station, and you will see two pubs with dog-inspired names. Barking, right? The Spotted Dog is the smaller of the two, and the second one you will see. As you walk in to what appears to be a closed pub, you see to your amazement an interior barely altered by time. Amazing barrels behind the bar, signs tempting you to try the port and sherry "from the wood", and an old railway sign which must have been retrieved the last time the station was updated. A lovely touch is the Leyton Orient scarf displayed high up beneath the clock, just in case you were in any doubt which team the customers support. The ceilings are high, making this a cool place to linger when the heat is on. Or you could sit at a table outside if you prefer. The landlord has a friendly smile, the customers chat, the music is not too loud ("Nothing Breaks Like a Heart") but in the Ladies one door does not close because it is too large.

Do not visit on a Friday night unless you want to be deafened by a disco so loud you cannot hear yourself think let alone speak. Only gave it a one star as it does Doom Bar on tap. Such a shame as used to be a pub were you could go and have a decent pint and a chat in quiet surroundings.

Good neighborhood bar, ask for the cheese nachos.

Female toilets are flooded with wee all over the seat and toilet seat is broken,, also when we ordered a strongbow dark fruits the guy behind the bar just added cordial to a normal strongbow.. karaoke night was good though as all the customers supported everyone singing...

My pint of Doom Bar was off, service was unsmiling and uninterested.
