They don’t do veg oil which is a shame really as they would get a lot more customers only beef drippings

The chips were good, crispy outside and fluffy inside. The fellow in there has about as much personality as a cinder block but the lady is friendly enough. What really spoilt it for me is the batter. The picture attached is the batter from a lightly battered fish. It's soggy, slimy and snotty. I always opt for lightly battered to avoid this no matter which chippy I enter. The fish wasn't in very long. I think the fish fryer just doesn't care anymore. Anyway, the batter was gross, do better

The best fish and chip shop in the area. A decent portion of chips and lovely crisp batter on the fish. Friendly staff and a clean and tidy looking place. Loved it.

Been coming here since I was a kid and it's still the best in town I reckon

It was very delicious. We ordered extra large fish for 2 ppl and they gave lots of chips with it. My recommendation only order fish and they give you small portion for chips free which is good if you are not fan of chips like me. There are plenty free car park around this restaurant.

Always nice fish and chips from here id highly recommend. The size of the fish is rather large as well compared to other places. If your a regular they look after you 👍

I've bought the fish and chip meal deal a few times and noticed they seemed a bit off about it, almost like they didn't like people buying it. Sent my wife down a couple of weeks back to get one for us both. She said the woman seemed annoyed about it. Strange as I never mentioned anything to her about it. So i doubt we are both imagining it? If you don't want to sell a meal deal, don't sell it! I even pay in cash to avoid a possible card charge to help them. Anyway, been in today and see the price of it has gone up, so maybe it was hitting a nerve? Never mind, it's still a quid cheaper than buying the items separate, though you only seem to get 1/2 portion of chips, so not really any gain on separate, just better if you don't want loads of chips, which I don't. But when selecting the fish, I could have sworn I heard they guy telling the woman, that one, and pointing. They were all just coming out of the fryer, so not sure what difference it made. But when eating I found it to be the worst fish I've ever had from here (usually pretty good). All batter, tiny fish. Did I get the "meal deal" fish? I dunno, but I don't think I'll be bothering anymore.

Cold shrivelled looking and tasteless chips, sausage smelt funky too. Don't think I'll be eating from here again!

My favourite fish and chips, great friendly service. That was 3 months ago, treated myself today, what's gone wrong ? Dreadful, awful grey fish, greasy thick batter. Such a shame.

Hugely disappointed! Not been for a while and won’t be going back. £16 for 2 fish a battered sausage, peas and curry sauce. Food was just ok and they forgot the scraps. I’ve been many times in the past and it’s always been so much better. Shame because the staff were very nice.

Nearly missed this place due to high sided vehicles parked right outside. Friendly staff. I ordered fish&chips with mushy peas. I can't fault anything I ate, even the mushy peas was cooked all the way through.

Absolutely abysmal chips, limp soggy and with a grey hue to them would not recommend as they were truly awful, if I could give 0 stars I would!

Was the best chip shop about only found out about it from Facebook after lockdown started so I give it ago and it was wonderful great portion sizes tasted great but seems like they tried to hook us with a cheap deal and now the customs bk the portion sizes have massively dropped and its not as gd as it was

Have been going here since I was a boy. The staff are always friendly and the fish and chips superb. I even have friends who come over from Lancashire regularly just to sample The delights Stockbridge fisheries have to offer. A treat awaits !

We were looking for a bite to eat on the way back from a day out and headed a little way off route to find this place. Excellent and friendly service. The fish was lovely with a light crisp batter. Good portion size but there are a range of desserts if you have space.
