Great treat meal next to the Market. It was a great change of pace from the heavier food we had been eating while still being delicious and satisfying.

Excelente comida, servicio y ambiente! No podría haber pedido algo mejor. ¡No podía faltar y recomiendo encarecidamente que tengan una velada allí, la verdad!

We had been looking forward to visiting Stock for some time, it has been recommended by so many people that we actually gave it a blind recommendation to a friend. However, we found our experience was not enjoyable at all. The pigeon starter was alright, nothing to sing home about. For a main, I had pheasant which was particularly unpleasant, it was tough and dry, the only thing that was properly presented were the vegetables. The potato terrine was rock solid, tooth shattering material. My partner ordered the monkfish and prawns, which in fairness was perfectly cooked, however the raviolo that accompanied it, the pasta was thick and hard, the interior was a horrendous texture. At this point we had no interest in subjecting ourselves to a dessert. There was no point complaining to staff, for it was obvious they had absolutely no interest.

Was really looking forward to eating here. But generally found the food missed the mark. The pigeon starter had a game pithivier which had a strange texture and not very palatable. The monkfish/prawns were really good and cooked well however the ravoilo was cold thick pasta and texture inside was really not pleasant. Pheasant was very dry and potato terrine overcooked and hard. Service was also underwhelming, we seemed to be waiting a long time before staff noticed us. Unfortunately wouldn't recommend. We didn't even want to get a dessert as we thought it wasn't great overall.

Vegan breakfast meant to come with smash avo toast...came plain Sourdough no butter, asked for avocado and was served cut up under ripe hard avocado..Sausages cold. Mimosas warm. Latte luke warm. Overall, a medicore experience! I wanted to write a lot of things from here.. I may be back for dinner.

Lovely evening here last night. Really enjoyed the local, seasonal produce including venisons and pheasant. I had venison - roast and venison shepherds pie. It was outstanding. Our snacky Christmas lunch was delicious! So nice to see local recipes and ingredients being used here. The oysters were a great start, but the scallops with artichoke chips were stunning, and the crubeens even more so. The courgette fries were a nice twist and the polenta with ossobuco was very tasty, and I'm not normally a fan of polenta! Rounded it off with a pair of cocktails each, we left this cosy and fancy little gem very content!

The best meal that I've had in a long time. The fish is absolutely wonderful! All-in-all a fantastic evening. Beautiful food cooked to perfection and presented with skill and style. A menu which offers choice simply not available elsewhere and then combines fresh ingredients in a way that's pleasing to the eye and to the palate. My Brill was, well, brill. A stylish, comfortable setting and a wonderful warm, inviting atmosphere. And topping everything was the immensely impressive table service. We were looked after in the most efficient, professional, yet friendly way, by a waitress who was simply outstanding. She made me feel a valued customer and that nothing was too much bother. She was knowledgeable and smiled throughout the evening. Each order was delivered accurately - all without a note taken, which, in my experience, doesn't happen often. She was remarkable and contributed greatly to the overall experience. Compliments to the kitchen staff too for coordinating the requests of a table of six so well, keeping the courses ticking over in good time, and for presenting such wonderful food. Nothing could have been done any better! Thank you to all at Stock, front and back of house, for a thoroughly memorable and enjoyable evening.

A welcome find at the Sunday St George’s market! We wanted a nice breakfast in Belfast and didn’t realise how difficult it would be to find somewhere that wasn’t a hotel or coffee chain! This ticked all the boxes. Staff were so friendly, the food itself was absolutely delicious. Breakfast mimosa great value at £5! Well, it WAS Christmas! Quirky interior and lovely view over the market’s comings and goings! Fully intend to return for their evening menu, which sounds awesome!

I really don’t know why this restaurant isn’t top of the list of best places to dine in Belfast. I visited for an early evening meal and catch up with 5 friends. We were greeted with a smile, and seated at our table, which was in a spacious dining room and not a crammed area. We had wines and starters- I had the delicious seafood tartlet which was so tasty. I so enjoyed the venison main, which was perfectly cooked and served with a creamy mash side. My friends had the beef cheek and a few had the steak. We shared deserts of chocolate brownies and a passion fruit tart before finishing with coffees. There was great attention to detail on the presentation of all our food. The staff were attentive and pleasant . Overall we could not have expected more, and we will definitely be back . Such a great meal.

Don’t know where to begin. By far, the best food in Belfast and possibly up there with top 3 food spots in the UK. This restaurant will have award after award I have no doubt. The service was amazing - the food was beyond incredible & the general atmosphere was fun, welcoming, warm and the right amount of luxurious. After a recent trip to London to check Out some restaurants - this place truly puts into perspective how other places need to up their game. The food is sourced local, it’s cared for and the menu is perfect. The biggest 10/10 I could give. Early dinner Saturday night (16/11) party of seven, we considered ourselves lucky to get a table at relatively short notice, and to be fair, the floor staff were excellent. However…having made our menu choices, we were told that one dish, the veal osso bucca was not available. Why not say in the first place if something is off the menu ? Four of our party chose the ‘Peter Hannan’ 12 oz sirloin steak at £39 a pop, yes £39 for a steak, a shallot and a few chips. I know the 12 oz is uncooked weight etc but there is no way on earth that any of the steaks were anywhere near 12 oz. More like 8oz max. Also, I have had better RUMP steaks from the discount German supermarkets. They were poor steaks across the board. Peter Hannan needs to look into this ! We got the service charge deducted (!) but £156 for four dud steaks is a complete rip off. Another dish, the monkfish, was a bit suspect too, so all in all I would not recommend Stock.

We had friends from America with us. We were at the market and fancied a sit down meal rather than take away from a food stall. We looked up and seen people on a terrace so we thought we would try there. We couldn’t believe the restaurant set up, and I couldn’t believe I didn’t know it existed. I was honestly expecting a greasy spoon. But when we walked up the stairs we could tell straight away it was quality. It was beautifully and uniquely decorated. It had a lovely atmosphere, it was classy and felt elegant but we felt totally comfortable just arriving for lunch off the street in our jeans. The staff were extremely welcoming, engaging and friendly. The menu was obviously highly thought out with fantastic seasonal options from the best local sources (we discovered this information leaving as they highlight a map of suppliers etc in the hall). We all thoroughly enjoyed our food. I can’t recommend this enough. A really unique location and fantastic meal. I’d recommend for friends, professionals, couples, anyone really. We will be back!

We ate lunch here today. I've been in Europe since June (mostly France) and this was the best meal my husband and I had. The chicken was moist and perfectly seasoned; the vegetables were farm fresh and plentiful; the mashed potatoes were the best I've ever had (probably partly owing to the large amount of fresh butter in them!). The staff was friendly and wanted to make sure we were enjoying. Our server, Zara, was lovely and waited on us with a genuine smile. Great value isn't always cheap. Case in point - £36 for a main course at lunchtime in Belfast is far from cheap but for a whole turbot roasted on the bone with a lovely selection of really fresh vegetables and a very generous portion of skin on chunky chips its amazing value. All delicious and perfectly cooked fish fresh from the market the restaurant is located above. Great value extended to the champagne - recent survey suggested Belfast has one of the highest mark ups on restaurant wine in the UK at well over 200% being the norm. Bottle of Henri Abele Brut NV at £75 is well below that and a lovely wine. This wasn't a cheap meal but it was great value and rest assured there are plenty of choices on the menu that are also cheap and great value - mussels, chips and a beer looked great and less than many pubs in Belfast. This Danny Millar venue really deserves to be packed.

The whole experience from a great bar with various beer choices to keep everyone happy but also decent craft and cocktails, to the restaurant with knowledgeable staff who do a great job of serving the whole fish on the bone was superb. 2nd time in a recent while and despite being a touch more expensive than other choices in Belfast it is very much worth it for flavour ,quality and range of options. The location is on the edge on most Belfast entertainment but is also a great choice for non townies as it’s so close to the train station. Give this one a go…it will broaden your fish and beef experience and is really tasty

The staff pay attention, and know the food and menus well - they are keen to be a support and help. They are gems. The food is excellent. Truly, to be recommended to all. They have a slight problem with the outdoor tables being as warm as however warm St George's Market is on the day. This was forgotten as the bustle of the market added to the experience. The entire experience was excellent. Ari who served us deserves a special commendation although that is almost unfair to all the other brilliant and helpful staff. Very disappointed to find out that Stock kitchen and bar have a policy which only redeems their vouchers for a year only. When we contacted them to enquire about using a voucher for £125 which was 4 months out of date they informed us that they would allow us to use £60 of this as what they described as a gesture of good will if we booked for use within a 2 days time frame only. This in our view was a mean spirited, ungenerous response to offer less than half the worth of the original voucher which we in error thought we would have longer than a year to use. Most Belfast establishments offer an at least two year voucher redemption policy such as the Visit Belfast initiative which includes 65 such businesses all facilitating thr use of vouchers for a two year period. When we contacted the restaurant to highlight this, they did not respond. Very poor and not customer centred business.

They operate a points system which means staff are given a pound per hour of tips even though every table has an automatic 10% service charge. I haven't been able to get out for dinner for a considerable time and when this place was suggested, I was a little bit worried because, while I knew there was an eatery there, I hadn't heard anyone talking about it and I made an assumption it was just a middle of road type restaurant based above George's Market. I have to say, I went in not expecting much, but was absolutely gob smacked! It definitely wasn't what I was expecting! The place isn't massive but the use of the space is fabulous! There is a bar area where you can sit pre and post dinner. The decor is first class and the atmosphere was excellent and a tribute to the owners, but more so the staff working there! While it is a little on the pricier end of the scale for me, although not wildly priced, I have to say the food was outstanding and the staff helped us get enough food to share between 5 of us!! We had parmesan fries with a few drinks while deciding what to have. We had a variety of starters before the fish and meat sharing meals and a steak, that was one side of a cow! At the end, a few deserts were then taken and others had an alcoholic refreshment instead. The wine list is extensive and to be honest above my head, but we shared a terrific bottle of red that I hate myself for not taking a note of to look it up! In total, it was £70 a head! A little more than my usual financial envelope, but it was a special night out, so I was a bit surprised because I was genuinely expecting it to be more! Overall a terrific night out and great experience and a credit to the owners and staff! I really do mean it when I say I want to go back!!

Unfortunately it wasn't great. Last time we were here was for our anniversary, it was late August and not as busy and the experience was amazing. This time, for my wife's birthday, it felt like we were treated like we were on a Christmas dinner. We ate off the main menu and had oysters to start, they were lovely. The starters were just ok, and compared to last time, a little less of it too. My pigeon had 2 small slices, not sure where the rest of the pigeon breast went. The main courses were the biggest let down and actually felt the played had been sitting a while, not overly warm. My wife's fish was overcooked and quite dry. The pasta was heavy and grey, not at all appealing, so we sent it back. This left me eating on my own. They brought another for my wife and it was much warmer and looked more appetizing, with gorgeous fluffy prawns on top. Unfortunately, the fish just wasn't great and the pasta was yet again thick and grey. They took mine away to heat and came back warmer but not great. Service was great, just felt standard had dropped to cater for the Xmas period. Very disappointing.

Great quality food. Not the cheapest, but well worth the money. Different atmosphere overlooking the market, good service. We went for the mushroom pasta and the beef cheeks, lovely!

How have I failed to get here earlier? The space is lovely. If eating in the winter on the open balcony above the market... bring a pullover. Today we ate inside where it was totally comfortable.. But, the food... the food... the staff. Fantastic. For me starter of crabs claws and langoustines. Main of ham-wrapped pheasant. Both were absolutely delicious. Perfectly cooked.. umami needs fully satisfied. Brilliant. Thank you Danny M. and all the team. Not cheap, but we did enjoy the delights of the bar, as well as the kitchen! Would I go back?? Would tomorrow be too soon???

Overrated & overpriced. Food wasn’t that great (especially the vegetarian menu), but it’s wasn’t bad. It’s just that I expected better given the ratings. Oysters were more expensive than other spots in Belfast (but were still good). Service was a bit slow (although the staff were friendly). There are better spots at this price point.

Disappointed. Very average meal and service . It was like dining on the Marie Celeste - whilst eating, the waiters started to clear the cutlery and glassware from nearby tables , as they were closing in half an hour at 7pm. Poor standard .compared to other celebrity chef restaurants in Belfast . Overpriced. Will not be back .

I think the food served here is well cooked and very tasty and the portions are very adequate. I think though it is becoming a bit overly expensive for what it is. Our bill on this occasion was significantly more than on the previous occasion.

Had catch of the day. Half a Turbot on the bone. Perfect sides. Glass of Hugel Tradition. Hard to better. I'm sure atmosphere picks up later, but I was a solitary early diner, there for the food!

This was our first time in Stock and it won’t be our last. We were very impressed. Nice friendly staff and the four different food choices were all excellent. .

Having walked past a stunning display of fresh fish and vegetables at St George’s Friday market we were eagerly looking forward to our lunch upstairs at Stock restaurant. All four of us chose the fish Specials. Our plates of fish, decorated with split langoustines and vegetables arrived. Served with 4 bowls of chips. The job in hand was to try and find the flesh on the fish which we could eat! Bones were turned over and scraped in the process. Needless to say we were extremely disappointed with the fish content of our meal for £30 each. Sitting on the balcony looking down at the busy market we really felt let down by a respected chef for allowing such inferior food to be served to his customers.

Lovely place .friendly and helpful staff .lovely ambience. We chose fish of the day with langoustines..£30 The langoustine and fish would all have been better staying in the sea for another 6 months .more bones than flesh . My green broccoli was part of thick stump .. Very disappointing/ very overpriced.

Brought a family member who was visiting from Canada to show off St George’s Market. I had previously dined on the balcony before it was under new management. Found the Stock menu quite unusual. Opted for the fish and chips, Caesar salad and “proper chips”....

Dined here on Saturday evening I had chicken spring rolls and sautéed chicken livers with black cherries my wife had scallop and crab soufflé both were excellent. We ordered the sirloin of boef sharing platter for two at £90. The vegetables and sides were excellent but the main event, the beef was perhaps one of the poorest cuts of meat I have ever had. We were offered a free dessert by way of an apology but we declined and the service charge was taken off the bill (which in essence punishes the staff with no tip) I tipped the waiter with cash as the service was really decent. I was, and remain very disappointed at being charged for the main course as it was not enjoyed nor finished. I feel £40 for a bottle of red wine I can buy for £9 was over the top.

The service and food was excellent. I recommend getting a reservation especially on the weekend. We wanted to have good traditional Irish food and Darcy"s didn't disappoint. We started with muscles which, we shared, the garlic creme sauce was so good. As our entrees we had the traditional Irish stew, pork belly and the daily special salmon with shrimp. The Irish stew was very favorable, you could taste the lamb in the sauce. If we come back to Belfast we would surely be back to Darcys.

I phoned the number on the website to confirm that it's closed and I was told that it's closed entirely, only writing a review so others see it.

Went in with my friend. She's vegan and the variety of options for her was amazing. I had some of hers, and if all vegan food tasted that good then I would go vegan too. But if that was the case I wouldn't have been able to enjoy my lamppost fry which was delicious. The staff were really lovely too. Very friendly and welcoming. The decor was nice and the coffee was unreal. Highly recommend this place. Will for sure go back.
