We’ve just celebrated a Mother’s Day Sunday lunch here & it was excellent. There were 7 of us & we all enjoyed our meal. The food was hot & excellent. Nice choice of starters, main courses served with lovely vegetables & desserts. All freshly cooked. Great service, atmosphere & excellent value for money. Would recommend this little gem of a restaurant right in the middle of Canford Cliffs village. We will be back.

Had fabulous toasted sandwiches for lunch wonderful ham served with fries salad and coleslaw lots of choice and really good value. Other dishes looked great good service highly recommended

I can honestly say this was by far the best full English breakfast I have ever eaten , was served by friendly staff who welcomed not only us but our pooch . All the ingredients were fresh and tasty, cooked to perfection and the plate arrived lovely and hot. I did ask for brown sauce but didn’t need any as everything was so good. Not a lot else to say but thankyou for the great service and fantastic breakfast, we can’t wait to return .

An absolute gem in Canford Cliffs. As we walked through the door on our first visit a table was just being served and I could tell straight away we were in for a treat. Our meal didn't disappoint. A generous portion of scallops followed by an on point ribeye with fresh vegetables perfectly cooked. Great service too. Highly recommended.

Had a wonderful family meal here. The food was amazing. The service spot on. It was very busy which is always a good sign. Advisable to book. We had a brilliant roast with starters and puds. Well worth a visit.

Second time we’ve been for breakfast and can’t fault the food, service or atmosphere. Breakfast was tasty with good quality produce. Nothing was too much trouble either. We were served by the owner who was friendly and even remembered key details about us from our last visit! The atmosphere is calm, clean and relaxed.

I can’t speak highly enough about this place. There weren’t many diners on the night we went but apparently the evening before had been fully booked. I was so glad to hear that because this place is a gem. The food was really outstanding. It was beautifully presented and tasted so good. Fresh ingredients no doubt. A lovely touch that they serve half bottles of some really good wines too. Nice if, like me, your other half is more of a beer drinker than a wine drinker! The owner was attentive without being invasive. 5stars . realistc prices too. I wish I spotted this place before we wasted a lot of money at a very poor experience at Rick steins restaurant in sandbanks the evening before!

The lunch could not have gone any better. We selected from the Christmas menu , there was a good selection for each course, the food was fresh.well presented and delicious. We were a large group and had the entire restaurant, the service was excellent we were made to feel special on our special occasion. Everybody enjoyed every course and there were only positive comments from all. So pleased that we chose Stock for our Christmas Lunch we will return, for other occasions. Thank you.

After the disappointment of our previous dining experience the night before in a celebrity restaurant, no guesses whose! This was the exact opposite, great food, reasonable prices, good host, re-establishing my faith that their are proprietor's who actually care about serving great food and providing a great dining experience and only rarely do I walk out of a restaurant thinking, "wow that was great", well done.

Visited Stock on September 22. Nothing fancy just an immaculate smallish restaurant. The food was truly excellent. Four of us and all of our dishes were fab. Personal service from the owner. Plentiful quality tasty food. Best meal we’ve eaten in the area. We will be going back. Well done Stock.

So pleased that Stock is back up and open again. I have just had my first breakfast back here after the long lockdown. The quality of the produce they use is first class and what a beautiful breakfast. Great coffee as well and the service is top end. The best breakfast in the area by far.

We booked this as one of the places to dine when visiting Sandbanks and it was by far the best. Only recently re-opened and all meals cooked fresh by the owners this is a must for anyone visiting the area and I'm sure will be a local favorite. Our complete meals were fantastic and very reasonably priced compared with others in the area. We only wish we lived locally as we would be regular visitors. Will definitely book again when we visit again and will probably eat here every night. We don't think you will find a better restaurant in the area.

We ordered a take away Sunday lunch today from Stock on our last day of self isolation following a holiday. It was really tasty, plenty of everything. Collection was easy and safe. Thank you.

I hadn't visited for some time and had almost forgotten how much of a gem this place is! Great service, friendly and down to earth. Food was fantastic. Definitely up there with some of the very best in the area, long may it continue!

We made a reservation for Sunday lunch during a long weekend trip to the local area.The staff were extremely attentive and welcoming - we had our 14 month old twins and 7 year old with us and they found us a table that worked best with the double buggy.Service was prompt and the food was delicious - the roast meats were all high quality and cooked to perfection.Lovely laid back atmosphere to the whole place making it a truly enjoyable experience - wouldn’t hesitate to visit again!Thank you to all the staff!

I have been wanting to try this restaurant since we moved here 3 years ago so a post lockdown meal here was just the ticket. I was a bit surprised on entering to see a rather plainly fitted out restaurant and the waiter/owner very casually dressed in shorts. This initial concern was cancelled out by the amazing food!My starter was mushrooms in a delicious sauce on toast. I couldn’t believe how tasty it was ( see photos), I followed this with duck in a cherry sauce and it was another perfectly executed meal. My husband enjoyed all his food and we had an ice cream dessert. I really look forward to eating here again.

Just had our fourth takeaway roast from Stock - all have been delicious thank you :) We had beef and lamb and both were so tasty and tender, great roasties, veg and gravy that you have to mop up if there’s any left!

We visited Stock on 26th July .we have been before and it was a really good meal.There was no fuss about the Covid regulations just sanitizer for your hands and room between the the tables.The food was delicious from the roast lamb dinner ,which had plenty of meat with cabbage peas and carrots, to the excellent brownie and delicious ice cream and the cheesecake and ice cream . The wine was of very good quality and the coffee finished it off nicely.If you want a very good meal at a reasonable price in a relaxing atmosphere this is the place for you.

After visiting the area on holiday we wanted a quality evening meal at an independent restaurant and the food and service at this one was great - beat calves liver and scallops I have had for a looong while!

We dined at Stock on Wednesday 4th March. It was pouring down with rain outside,it was my husbands birthday and I took him out to experience a lovely meal at Stock. It was lovely and warm inside and it was very relaxing .people were talking quietly and there was background music playing softly . I had a glass of Ros'e and my husband had lager. I chose Lasagne That arrived with fries and salad which was very enjoyable and my husband chose the roast lamb which came with roast and boiled potatoes carrots and peas. There was plenty of meat which hubby did not think he would finish ,but he polished it all off and enjoyed it. Both meals were lovely and hot. I then chose a steamed syrup pudding with custard , which was enjoyable . We finished off with a coffee .This was a lunch time visit and this all cost £46 Which we both thought was reasonable.Stock is a place that you can rely on for a good meal.

What a wonderful place - all five of us went for breakfast on Saturday morning. Avocado and poached eggs, full English, it’s was all gorgeous. Attention to detail, brilliant food, and equally good service. Eat here :-)

Had Dinner on Wednesday, the owner James was very attentive and affable. Food was good and good value. Will definitely be going again.

Twelve of us came here recently for a staff celebration meal and were not disappointed. The place was quiet, (i.e. no 'background music') and tastefully decorated. The food, although rich, was delicious and the staff attentive but unobtrusive.

Having been a frequent visitor to this restaurant over the last couple of years, I have finally decided to write them a review.I try other dining establishments around the local area but find myself coming back here time and time again.The reason is simple be it Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner your food comes out in good time, piping hot and is made using quality produce at a very reasonable cost.The chef is extremely capable and any of the specials or fish dishes are simply fantastic.If you haven’t been, Sunday lunch is an absolute must, in my opinion anything in locality does not even compare with what comes out of there kitchen.My compliments to the chef and the front of house for making this establishment an absolute joy to dine at.

Encouraged by good opinions, I went for dinner. The food tasted and looked like a cheap bar by the roadside. Returning from dinner I passed many other interesting-looking places and I regretted very much that the only evening spent in Sanbanks was wasted on a visit to this restaurant. I do not recommend, I do not know where so many good reviews.

My family will tell you that, much to their acute embarrassment, if something is wrong in a restaurant, I will be the first to let them know. I went to Stock with my husband and mother last Thursday evening and we had the best meal, I can remember in years. The food was cooked to perfection and plentiful, the wine was delicious and the service friendly and helpful. Truly a brilliant restaurant. Hope this review does not mean we'll struggle to get a table next time we're down but I wouldn't begrudge them if it did. Fabulous.

We have eaten at Stock over the years and it has always been a good experience. Last night was no exception. Friendly welcoming service and exceptional food. The seabass is delicious. A new starter has appeared on the menu which is halloumi with a beetroot dip. This is amazing and highly recommended as is the dressed crab. So full we didn't manage a dessert!Thoroughly enjoyable relaxed evening at the hands of a professional team.

Centrally located within the Canford Cliffs village, an excellent restaurant that impressed on all fronts. Very tasty and well presented food, superb service in a comfortable and clean environment and only a short walk from the cliff top and beach.

I went for Saturday dinner and I had over cook steak and soggy fries. Paid lots of money for not nice dinner. Very disappointing. I think chef need few cooking lessons.

We dined here as a party of 6 on Saturday night. The restaurant was surprisingly quiet, I assume it gets busier in high season. The food was great and the service relaxed and friendly. Run by a husband and wife team (she chef, he front of house) the menu is fresh and enticing and the welcome is warm. There was something for all tastes and special requests were not a problem. I would definitely recommend and I will certainly dine here again when I am next in the area.

after a day touring Poole Sandbanks and Studland Bay we were starving and this place was on the way back to our hotel so we checked out the menu and popped in for an early supper. The guy was very friendly. The menu good and we both enjoyed what we ordered. My partner said it was the best steak he has had for a long time. Skinny chips were yummy.

I’ve always wanted to try this restaurant since walking in for a table one Sunday and they were full.

We holiday in Sandbanks a few times each year and usually visit Stocks on the Saturday of our arrival. We have never been disappointed with the food and my special dietary requirements are happily met. This is an unpretentious restaurant with a nice friendly and relaxed atmosphere and excellent food. We look forward to our visits next year.

Popped into Stock last week after a trip to Poole beaches. As always, the food was excellent. Nothing fancy, just good food, well cooked and presented.

Stock is a neighbourhood restaurant that consistently exceeds one’s expectations. The meals are always expertly cooked and very tasty. The prices are reasonable and the regulars, of whom we’re two, just keep coming back. Book early for Sunday lunch or a big party.

We have been to Stock several times and have never been disappointed. The food arrives piping hot and is delicious. We had roast lamb of which there was plenty in fact we would have been happy with half that amount. The vegetables were greens, peas and carrots. I think they had other vegetables as I noticed someone was served with broccoli instead of greens. Like someone another reviewer said we could have done with more vegetables as we prefer more veg than meat. We enjoyed it all the same.

We visited Stock for dinner on a Friday evening based on the Tripadvisor reviews. For most of the evening we were the only couple eating which was a bit of a concern until the food arrived, as it was excellent. The portions were good sized and we enjoyed two starters, both then had the halibut main, which was perfectly cooked and tasted divine. The desserts were nice too. The only negative was that when two other guests arrived they were a local famous ex-football manager and his wife. He loved the attention he got from the host and, as a Saints fan, is far from my favourite person! Would thoroughly recommend Stock.

We enjoyed a Sunday lunch at superb value at this delightful, family run restaurant. The food was beautifully presented and was delicious! The lemon cheesecake was exquisite, but be careful if your digestive system can’t handle rich foods, as it is very rich. My only wish, was that there were more vegetables. My husband and I enjoy our veg, and we had to share a small bowlful between three of us (but then, maybe that would be plenty for others).

The food is excellent in this restaurant, always piping hot and fresh. The staff are very friendly, but it is a little basic with hard chairs. However, I would thoroughly recommend it, and we will return time and time again to get a delicious evening meal.

Taken here today for lunch by friends who live close by and I believe are regulars. Cannot fault our visit. Friendly efficient service, very good food, (My wife, not easily pleased, Caesars Salad with Chicken, "very, very good", three other meals also much enjoyed, total bill £54 for 4 including drinks, very reasonable. Highly recommended.

Have visited Stock on many occasions, and have never been disappointed! Whenever I’ve stopped for breakfast it’s been cooked brilliantly and the set Sunday menu is of a very good price and is cooked to perfection ( I recommend the duck terrine, roast beef and bread and butter pudding ) Overall a Lovely atmosphere, flawless service and I have recommended it to many.

We have never had a bad meal at Stock. Not sure why it has taken this long to write a review, as first went there a year or two ago. The food at Stock is the best we have eaten in the area. The menu is not too big, but there's enough choice to cater for any palette. We have eaten there probably four times now, we tend to go as a mid week treat (you'd probably do well to book ahead if you are planning to go at the weekend). Hugely recommended.

My wife,I and family were staying in a holiday home very nearby and often passed STOCK on our way to the beach. We promised ourselves that we would have breakfast on our last day, and WOW! what a breakfast. Food excellent, restaurant very clean and tidy, proprietor great, value for money even better.Really thinking of returning for another holiday next year in the same location and will not leave it until the last day to return to STOCK..

Hemos estado en stock con bastante regularidad y he tenido tanto la comida y el desayuno. Su muy buena que es la razón por la que volver. La comida es sencilla pero muy bien preparada (Felicitaciones al chef) y normalmente está acompañada de una generosa porción de verduras y patatas (algunas de las mejores patatas asadas iv). Tiene un ambiente agradable y relajado y el camarero/dueño hace un trabajo fantástico de hacerte sentir bienvenido. Los precios son razonables y Felizmente recomendaría este restaurante a mis amigos que están buscando un lugar tranquilo donde disfrutar de una buena comida.

A hidden gem located on the high street in Canford. I have passed this restaurant many times without a second glance. Some very special friends visited in late March, recommended by other friends we tried Stock Dining Room. Food was incredibly good and the service was excellent. We were all blown away with presentation and flavours of the food. A great evening an attentive host and definitely on the list to visit again.

I had seen this restaurant many times but never been in. I booked a lunch on Mother's Day for 3 of us and when we arrived they were jam packed but made us feel welcome and got our table very quickly. It was a set 3 course lunch for £18.95 per head and I can only describe the food as stunning. Myself and my parents all had different things and every single dish was lovely. The wine list was good and not overpriced. I will definitely be going back there to experience the normal menu. Would highly recommend this place!

Popped in for a quick bite for lunch. The food was delicious - a homemade soup - and the staff incredibly friendly. Prices were reasonable for the area and the atmosphere was calm - overall it was an ideal place for lunch!

Visited with family this Sunday. Had a really nice lunch. We had a choice of starter, main and dessert. Either two or three courses all for a good price. The food was cooked really well I chose beef which was nice a pink but the lamb, pork was also cooked well. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and the place was full of regulars.

We went here for an evening meal at short notice and were well looked after ,our meals were individually prepared and to a high standard ,and very good .However not many people there as end of season and early in the week ,would definitely return but not cheap ,.exceedingly clean restaurant

Took my parents there for dinner and they thought it one of the best meals ever,believe me they usually find something to complain about the food was even hot enough for them!Not the first time i have been there and it won't be the last everything i have had there has been Good.Not the vastest menu but something for everyone and all done well especially the fish and liver.Quality food,decent portions at a fair price

Stock dining room must be a candidate for the best Sunday lunch in Bournemouth and Poole. Unsurprisingly they were turning way customers who had not booked today. The consistency with which they serve top quality perfectly cooked food is remarkable. Residents of Canford Cliffs are fortunate to have such a gem of a neighbourhood restaurant on their doorstep. But if you live a little further afield there is plenty of parking nearby. But do book or you could be disappointed particularly on Sundays.

There's no linen tablecloths here but don't let that fool you. This is great English food. Scallops from Portland were incredibly fresh as was the local lemon sole. The vegetable were well cooked and wholesome - broccoli, french beans and carrots.I tried a spoonful of the homemade lemon cheesecake which was delicious.This is English cooking at its best.

Excellent evening out - all the courses were superb , the choice was just right with enough variety but not stupidly large numbers of dishes , the crab starter was particularly good , portion sizes just right , staff were great - friendly and helpful . Even my sister-in-law who is notoriously demanding was happy with every course and didn't send anything back ! Overall very good value for money , will be going again !

Fantastic service and food. We found Stock after a day on the beach. The food was very nice with good portions. The atmosphere was relaxed but efficient. We will definitely be going back.

This was our first visit and it certainly won't be the last. We enjoyed the food and can't wait to bring our family and friends here. The lamb cutlets with vegetables and homemade gravy and mint sauce were delicious and very good value indeed. We were also impressed by the chicken and bacon sandwich with salad and crisps. The sliced bread was freshly baked and light and the filling was bursting with flavour. We enjoyed the generous portion of homemade cheesecake, very light and tasty. Its very rare to find a place like this where the food is outstanding and it's a credit to the chef. No wonder you were busy when we have passed by on the last couple of occasions. It was full today for lunch so booking is advisable.

I've been to Stocks on several occasions.Has always been a pleasant dining experience.Quite small and intimate.So you can enjoy pleasant conversation.Lovely food.And good size portions.You can walk in from the street.But I would recommend calling ahead to book a table.As it is a very popular place.And very friendly.

A first visit for me but not the last. The decor is light and airy and there's a lovely friendly feel to the place. I was there for breakfast and it was delicious; freshly cooked and piping hot. I can't to go back and try some other things in the menu.

Came here last week for Sunday lunch with the girls. Had fantastic food which was really good value for money. I chose the homemade soup of the day and roast beef which was cooked to perfection and to finish I had the salted caramel chocolate brownie which was just incredible! The waitress was really friendly and chatty and her and the boss man work really well together. Service attentive and overall a great time here will definitely return. 5*

Updated restaurant with very good food but lacks any sort of atmosphere - not helped by the one and only waiter/owner/maitre d (?) who didn't seem to realise that this was a restaurant and a Saturday night dinner outing - it wasn't a cafe for a quick meal. This could be an excellent restaurant but lack of charming and professional front of house means that we probably won't return which is a shame as the food is very good .

This recently refurbished restaurant, offers some of the best food in Poole.For me its a convenient breakfast pit stop. I always have scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage and toast. Its always gorgeous and delivered, quick, piping hot and the portions are very welcomed.Check it out in the main High Street in Canford Cliffs

Three of us booked a table here on a Thursday evening and all chose different food...the scallops were superb, the cheese soufflé was excellent...the presentation and taste was excellent. Sea bass, halibut and duck courses for mains were cooked to perfection....gentle background music and attentive service all contributed to a perfect evening... I highly recommend the quality of the food, the clean and pleasant restaurant and the service...we will return here without hesitation.

Four of us ate here on a quiet Tuesday night.I previously ate here when it was Le Chateau. It was good then -and is equally good now.We had dressed crab and garlic prawns to start. Both were made with excellent ingredients. Even the French bread served with the prawns was of good quality.For mains, we had either duck or lamb -and both again were of excellent quality and very nicely cooked. Accompanying veg consisted of purple sprouting, green beans and roasted carrots -and also excellent fries and small roasted potatoes in skins.Wines appear to have been carefully selected by someone who knows their stuff. We had an excellent Chardonnay with the first course and an Argentine Malbec grape mix (Shiraz?) red -which was equally good.Three of us had desserts -treacle tart with Purbeck ice cream or a mix of Purbeck ice creams. (People who serve Purbeck ice cream again know their stuff!) -The treacle tart was excellent too!Service was friendly, efficient and unfussy.Will definitely not leave it so long before a return visit.

Food very good great value. Been going there 10 years plus but the waiter/owner never speaks. Lacks charisma. He needs to improve his people skills but this doesn't take away from the lovely food. Tables very uncomfortable for ladies as you can't get your legs underneath. Won't stop us going back but please try and get to know us.
