Great experience, friendly staff that cannot do enough for you. And the food... Is something else, if your only in poole for a holiday try this place always take my family here and they love it.

Visited to celebrate a birthday having read some great reviews. Scallops and pate to start. Both had pork belly as main course. Food wasn’t terrible but then it wasn’t great either. The same could be said of the service. Wouldn’t rush to return.

The starters are very nice and the pizzas are well worth the price.

Deligthful compact restaurant of the highest qaulity. Staff were attentive and helpful with a smile. The food was terrific, well and beautiful presented that was pleasing to the eye and a gastrome to the taste and smell!! Puddings were heavenly and we all shared as it would have been a shame not yo have tasted each one.... We would have been very full if we had all of them to ourself!! We were left to take our time and not rushed which was a added bonus. Will come again and will recommend BINGLEYS Plus it is situated in the heart of Old Town Poole and dates back to 1555....

Hadn’t been here for a long time and went here to celebrate my daughter’s birthday. My husband enjoyed his sea bass and my daughter her fillet steak. However my ribeye was very tough. The desserts were delicious Service was fine but not the most professional I have experienced. A pleasant evening but will not be rushing back

Visited here for my husbands birthday after seeing good reviews on trip advisor and Bingley’s did not disappoint. It is cosy restaurant with a nice calm atmosphere. My husband had the rib eye steak and I had the belly of pork and they were both cooked perfectly. For dessert my husband had the cheesecake and I had the sticky toffee pudding which can sometimes be a bit heavy but this was very light and melted in your mouth. If I had to give a negative it would be that as the menu is kept small and compact, whilst it means you don’t get overwhelmed with choice for the fussier eaters (me) it really limits what you can have. We would definitely recommend and we will certainly be heading back there soon.

We visited this restaurant during a trip to Poole, not knowing where to eat & we could not have picked a better place. The restaurant is small & intimate & is ideal for people looking for a nice place to enjoy quality food. The menu has plenty of dishes to choice from & the food is fresh & flavoursome. We ordered the pate & beef croquettes for starters, which we extremely good. We both went for the fillet steak and they were some of the best steaks we have ever had. Baileys Creme Brûlée & Baked Cheesecake topped off a superb meal. The win list has something for everyone & the service was friendly, efficient & attentive without being over bearing. We would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone in Poole & it will definitely be our “go to place” for any future visits!

Only us in the restaurant but it didn’t matter!! Great service, freshly cooked food which was superb all at a very reasonable price! We haven’t visited Poole for nearly 30 years! This restaurant was well worth the wait!!

Excellent meal at Bingley’s Bistro. My wife and I both chose the Rib-eye steak, which was tender and cooked perfectly. For desert I chose the sticky toffee pudding and my wife the Coconut and Dark Chocolate Mousse, which were both lovely. Service was discrete but efficient. Prices reasonable too.

We had a lovely meal in Bingleys Bistro. Baked Camembert flowed by the salmon teriyaki and a fillet steak followed by a sticky toffee pudding. The portions were all generous. As with some of the other reviews, the seasoning/flavours here and there could be improved; the teriyaki seasoning could have been stronger and the sticky toffee pudding was too sweet and sugary. But on the whole a very enjoyable meal. Good service and nice ambience rounded it off.

Found this restaurant via a google search whilst looking for a venue for my boyfriend’s birthday. The food was absolute perfection and the service was impeccable, the perfect mix of professional and friendly. Not knowing the area you never know if you have picked a good restaurant or not…….but this is a GREAT restaurant. Would highly recommend and we will definitely be back.

You need to book in advance for this restaurant but it is well worth it. Lovely ambiance and fantastic food/wine. A lot of thought and care has gone into the menu, which means many diets/those with allergies are well catered for.

Food was even better than I’d hoped for, the best tuna steak I’ve ever eaten. All 3 starters mains and desserts were brilliant. Lovely little restaurant, friendly staff can’t give it anything but 5 out 5 !! Thanks again

The restaurant has the perfect bistro atmosphere. They have an excellent menu with plenty of choice. The quality of food and service were faultless. We thoroughly enjoyed the sea bass. As it is quite small, with limited covers, I suggest you make a reservation in advance to avoid disappointment.

We booked Bingley’s for a meal on our family of 4 trip to Poole after reading such good reviews! We was really looking forward to it and thankfully it did not disappoint! We were greeted by such friendly and welcoming staff - Terry and Mani who ensured everything was in order for our night. We have a young baby so a high chair was ready and waiting. The restaurant itself looks very classy with really nice feature lighting! Food was simple AMAZING! Starters we had the baked camembert and garlic and herb tiger prawns and for mains, the fillet steak (cooked to perfection) and sea bass.. everything was faultless. Kids meals were the perfect size and a nice touch was Mani knocking up a fruity non alcoholic cocktail as a treat for our seven year old.. he loved it! Definitely recommend and will be revisiting for sure on our next trip to Poole.

Lovely evening to celebrate my husbands birthday , the host Manny and the chef Martin did of this evening a very special one . Chicken pate and teriyaki tuna is a must 😜. I can’t recommend this place enough , very nice atmosphere

We’ve booked a table after reading some people’s reviews. We’ve order as a starter baked Camembert which was beautifully cooked. For main, my fish was cooked beautifully but hardly any flavour,as per my husband’s steak I thought was poor quality cut of steak,not something you would expect in a restaurant. The wine list was confusing as the prices shown weren’t up to date. Felt at the end that we paid far too much for just bland food. On a good note the service was fast a f the music great apart from that nothing special. Unfortunately we won’t come back here again.

Cannot fault a single thing from our evening! We booked in just from a google search as we’re not local, when we arrived in Poole another local pub also recommended eating here so we were looking forward to coming. We arrived a little earlier than our booking and our table was all ready for us. Greeted by a lovely guy called Manny who was extremely attentive all evening. The food was incredible! Soup, prawns, steak and the sea bass was made to perfection and it was the best meal we’ve had all holiday. Everything is freshly made to order. Would definitely recommend anyone booking in and trying this gem!

Booked our anniversary dinner for Sunday the 15th of August. Turned up at 7:30 and approaching the restaurant found all lights were off and looking closed!! Yes it was closed but no one informed us!! Yes it was closed !! So great 12th anniversary meal out wasn’t looking great but thankfully Sakuna khrua Thai had a space and we enjoyed a lovely mealTerrible communication from the restaurant and not informing us that they are unable to cater for us on our anniversary!! Will not be rebooking and disgusted !!

Went fir a meal on the Wednesday and it was so lovely I booked again for the Friday. Menu was small but perfect and the belly pork was the best I have ever had.

Very average! Surly greeting at desk. Felt like he was doing us a favour to find a table in a near empty restaurant. Food over priced and overcooked. Some guests get free after dinner drinks, some don’t! I like to support independent businesses but won’t return here.

Average at best. Overpriced for quality of food, better going to the harbour front… Ordered the Sea Bass and the skin wasn’t even crispy.. so much for seafood served in Poole!

This is a cut above. Simple menu, really well prepared. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable. As a party of three generations - from 80s to teens - we were impressed that we all found something we thought we would like and then did!

Tonight I had a lovely meal and drinks at the cosy restaurant. The tuna steak and king prawns were cooked to perfection, and the coconut and dark chocolate mousse was well-presented and tasty. The lovely staff and music made the dining experience even better. I would like to take my family to enjoy the great food in the future. :)

Last night of a lovely week away and it couldn’t have ended better. Bingley’s was a real find, fantastic food and great service and will definitely return.

My husband and I ate here for the first time (also first time visiting Poole) and we were not disappointed.Being a coeliac I get very nervous about eating in new places however this restaurant offered a wide variety of gluten free dishes!Beautiful quiet restaurant in the centre of Poole! Would 100% recommend to anyone!!

We had our 2nd visit last night celebrating our 10 year anniversary, it was also our first meal out since the pandemic began. Very pleased to say the quality and service is still as wonderful as before. It felt very strange to be out but thankfully and as expected there wasnt any need to be worried. The owner is such a lovely lady and enjoys spending time chatting to her customers which is a nice touch. The gluten free options are wonderful and make a wonderful change compared to other places menu's. The pork belly is so wonderful and the sticky toffee pudding is incredible and I genuinely nearly ordered a second one. If you are reading this, stop wondering, just book, you want regret it.

Small restaurant on the high street - mix of European and Asian inspired dishes.Good menu - different ideas to choose from. Had the shredded beef which was excellent and the pork belly - good. Chocolate mousse with no dairy or eggs is also a must to try.Great service - incredibly knowledgeable and interesting staff.

Up market but worth the extra pennies as the food was made with very fresh ingredients, complex flavours and mixed textures that matched each meal. Maybe we were lucky but it was excellent for us

Fantastic meal this evening.The staff were amazing and very mouthful of food was just perfect. This is a definite must for anyone who enjoys really tasty beautifully prepared food. We were a party of 4 and all came away having enjoyed what felt like a real treat.Would recommend heartily.

Had a lovely lunch here today. Fresh ingredients presented perfectly. Great service and interesting chat from young Hungarian waiter. Would certainly recommend and would definitely return. The beef croquettes were amazing as was the Mediterranean tart. Only shame was the wind which is beyond everyone's control.

Visited Bingley's on 29 October. Food and wine reasonably priced and both very enjoyable. Adrian, the front of house/waiter, is a real asset to Bingley's; very efficient with a very pleasant manner. We had a very enjoyable experience at Bingley's and would recommend visiting if you are in the Poole area.

Extremely well cooked food. Service was efficient, engaging and attentive. Enjoyed all 3 courses, had the slow cooked porchetta with mac & cheese as a side as the main course, certainly would recommend both this and the brownie dessert. Will definitely visit again next time we are down in Poole

My friend and I ate here on the same evening as Vivians4 submitted her negative review and simply cannot understand it. Both our starters and mains were amazing. We shared olives and bread to start which was meant for just me but as there was so much we shared it - the olives were sublime. I had Carbonnade de Beouf and my friend had the pork which she said was absolutely beautiful and very tasty. The crackling was out of this world and the coleslaw was stunning. I also had sticky toffee pudding with Creme anglaise which again tasted divine. We were both bewildered at our fellow diners negative review and suspected an ulterior motive for the negative review. One had the steak which was eaten in full and the other had the pork, as did my friend, which again was eaten completely. We both heard the waiter offer to recook their meals when the woman complained she wasn’t satisfied but she refused. She also stated that she didn’t want a discount but she would have to leave a negative review on trip advisor. Frankly, if a restaurant has offered all the above and you’re still not satisfied what more can they do? Just a few months ago people were fighting over toilet rolls and uppity conceited behaviour like this is just downright disgraceful - especially during a pandemic. The staff were doing their absolute best and I was appalled at our fellow diners rude, unpleasant and uncalled comments and behaviour. Ignore any negativity, you can’t get better food or service than this and if by any chance anything might not be to your liking the staff will do all in their power to put it right.

Stunning Bistro, a true gem. Classic dishes with the chefs own style and passion injected into them. The tastes are fantastic and each mouthful was a joy. Could not complain about the slightest thing. The waiter managed the restaurant and tables with effortless easy, excellently attentive and with a wealth of knowledge. From the reviews we had seen we expected good things from Bingley’s but they surpassed our expectations by their standards throughout the restaurant. Poole truly has an amazingly stand out little restaurant in the heart of the town. We may live a couple of hours away but will return soon.

Second time eating at this brilliant bistro. Charming and attentive front of house. Food was fantastic - looked and tasted so good. The chef knows what they are doing. Places like this have individual character, unlike chains. They work hard to make the experience special, and they care about the customer's enjoyment. Bingley's deserves to succeed and I wish them all the best.

We last visited Bingley’s two years ago. It was outstanding then and I’m delighted to say it’s even better now. Covid has been tough and we all need something to look forward to- and this was such a treat. Attentive and kind hosting from the waiter and just delicious food. It really feels like the meal is made with care and love. We won’t leave it another two years! Thank you.

We ate here for a pre birthday meal and we were not disappointed. Our waiter was very polite and attentive. The food was well presented and tasted fabulous. We have eaten in some very fine restaurants around the world and this was as good as any of them.We all felt covid safe as all precautions necessary were in place.I thank you for making my birthday meal so good and for giving me my desert for free as a birthday gift.

This was an absolute joy. Situated in the 'old town' High Street. A charming building and a charming front of house, Adrian. The food was superb, scallops with tapenade and serrano ham, cauliflower couscous with tempura aubergine, babaganoush and chick peas - all delicious. The Covid-19 social distancing measures were excellent. I really cannot praise this bistro highly enough.

My wife and I ate here on Friday night. Firstly, the way they handled social distancing and hygiene in light of the pandemic was perfect. Other restaurants should visit and use the experience as a template. They maintained a laid back atmosphere whilst effortlessly (it seemed) observing the guidelines. Secondly, and more importantly in some ways, the food was excellent. I had perfectly cooked scallops (I really do mean perfectly cooked) as a starter followed by sea bass with a puttanesca sauce which was equally lovely. My wife had salmon teriyaki which she gave a glowing review. The dessert was nice (I’m not a big dessert guy...)Thirdly, the service was friendly and efficient. I think the waiter was also the guy who took my booking and he was very helpful. Fourthly, the wine last appeared really well thought out and I greatly enjoyed the ‘Grillo’ with my fish. If I lived in Poole I would be going back to try their other dishes as soon as I could.

If you live in Poole, if you live near Poole or are visiting the area then Bingleys Bistro is a must. Come to think of it wherever you live just plan a trip to this part of the South Coast and support a restaurant that is trying hard in difficult times. It’s a charming place in a notable old building and its Calabrian chef would not be out of place in the best kitchens in London. Last night we enjoyed a sea bass fillet on a bed of samphire and a lovely carbonnade de boeuf accompanied by some perfectly cooked vegetables. We ate scallops and tiger prawns to start and wished we could have tried the porchetta or the cheese soufflé as well. Reasonably priced wines and copious bread and chilled water accompanied the meal exemplifying the feeling of generosity. Genuinely interested and professional front of house service, rare to find whatever you are paying, completed our dining experience. Don’t let a place like this close down.

Nice space. Pleasant staff. Good lighting and background music. The starters were good but both mains, the ribeye steak and the pork were really disappointing. The steak was chewy and the rosti and coleslaw accompaniments with the pork almost unpleasant. Would not return.

For starters we had scallops & garlic and herb prawns. Mains, goats cheese and chive soufflé & rib eye steak. Dessert, Apple and cinnamon tarte tatin & sticky toffee pudding. All courses were cooked to perfection, the food was very good quality, really tasty and presented well. The service was excellent. The prices were very good for the quality and portion size of food. It’s hard to find a place nowadays with fresh, quality food that’s a reasonable price. You won’t be disappointed if you like good food. We hope to visit again soon!

Visited this restaurant whilst staying in Sandbanks, the short taxi ride to Poole was worth it, I have to say the food, the service and the ambiance was totally 5 star. We eat out a lot, the food was the nicest we have eaten at any restaurant in a long time, everything cooked to perfection. I wish we lived closer, this would be our go to restaurant without a doubt!!

Had a wonderful three course meal this evening, great prawns for starter, sea bass for main and chocolate brownie for pudding. All gluten free, clearly labelled and no trouble! Great service and lovely atmosphere, thanks for a lovely evening. Good choice for gluten intolerant people.

We ate here whilst on holiday in the area and the food and service were absolutely top notch. We had 3 courses each & they were all delicious and beautifully presented. Everywhere was very clean & our table was nicely spaced from others. The waiter was wearing a mask but this didn’t stop him being very welcoming. We had a lovely evening and I would say the food quality, presentation, service & attention to detail were of a better standard than tonight’s meal in Rick Steins restaurant nearby. Would definitely recommend

Booked this on spec as we were stuck for somewhere to eat. How lucky were we! Chic outside and warm and welcoming inside. Adrian our server was friendly and Polite. He offered me no alcohol gin as I was looking for a no alcohol option. Delicious! We chose goats cheese soufflé and cauliflower couscous for our main courses and they were wonderful. We are every mouthful. The Italian chef came to ask us about the food and we were happy to tell him how lovely it was. This restaurant is a must next time we are in Poole.

I went here with my fiancé for my birthday last night. Food was absolutely superb with very attentive staff. The seating area had wide enough gaps between tables and it was clean. I would highly recommend going to this restaurant - I can not fault any of the excellent food.

Went with some friends. The menu had changed since we were last there and no longer a set menu. Now burgers, steaks, fish, salads. The burgers were good as was the goats cheese soufflé.

We booked Bingley’s after seeing the previous reviews as a special birthday meal. We had a private table at the back of the restaurant the decor and lighting were lovely. Food was great I had the prawns starter lots of tasty big prawns, my main was the tuna it was cooked perfectly and really tasty. Everyone’s meal was served together with no complaints other than we were too full for dessert. The chef popped out after to ask how we found the food which was a nice touch. Finally the bill food is very reasonably priced for the quality even with several drinks and bottles of wine we were shocked at how low our bill was. Would recommend if you’re in the area.

What a fab place the food was amazing ,so tasty and excellent value for money ,fab goats cheese souffle and muscles ,the service was excellent and ambience was lovely ,highly recommend to anyone who likes good food and service ,the young man who greeted and served us is a credit to this business

My wife Linda and I hadn't been out to eat for 6 months so were thoroughly looking forward to our first visit to Bingleys.We had a great evening from being greeted by front of house Adrian who looked after us excellently. The place has got lots of interesting history and the ambience is just right. As is the music playlist, all my favourites. The food was beautifully cooked and presented by chef Paolo. My wife's fillet steak cooked to perfection as was my spicy beef starter and slow roast porchetta main, rounded off with a lemon posset between us. Washed down with a very palatable glass of Nero D'avola.We shall definitely return soon !

We had a really nice meal the food was excellent however there was limited protection against coronavirus. The tables are close together I would suggest they are using the 1 metre rule and claiming that as people aren’t facing thise on other tables they’re fine. The staff are not wearing either masks or face shields and as they are so friendly and polite they are not maintaining social distancing at all. Yes there is sanitiser er available, yes they are wiping down tables well however since they are breathing all over them there is little point in bothering! Lovely place will return but not whilst the virus is still around.

Such a lovely restaurant, the ambiance, soft music, table set up, service, attention to detail, wine list and menu were spot on. So refreshing to have an inclusive menu, the thought that goes into dishes being available for all is so refreshing, by tweaking something small in the ingredients to a dish it massively widens options for coeliacs and your attitude is can do and to be applauded. Had come recommended and had excellent reviews. Whilst the staff were trying their best in this times we found the food itself quite bland with both fish and steak main course requiring more seasoning. Perhaps we just caught them on a bad night??

This was our first visit and we were really impressed with the standard of food and service. I loved the cosy atmosphere and unobtrusive staff who were attentive to our needs. All of the courses were delicious with great flavours and fresh produce. A wide variety of gluten free choices too. Highly recommended.

It's been a while since I have eaten in Bingley's and I'm glad to report it does not disappoint. A reservation was required as they only have 2 sittings due to covid-19 for now and also not a lots of restaurants in Poole have re-opened as of yet so it's best to book.The menu as usual was limited but there is choice, the bistro stalwart , French onion soup was tempting but opted for the courgette and quinoa fritters which were surprisingly nice, served with sour cream and a pickled carrot salad. The garlic and herb tiger prawns were equally delicious, firm meaty prawns served with a small salad.Mains of sea bass fillet (1) was perfectly cooked served atop samphire with a courgette and potato bake,and a light tomato & caper sauce, really good seafood as you would expect by the sea. Service was excellent, water refilled without asking, wine list covered all bases and budgets. An excellent choice to dine while in Poole.

Superb dinner in this cosy Bistro - don't be put off by the limited menu - quality not quantity was definitely our experience! Teriyaki Tuna was super tasty, Smoked Chicken and Chorizo salad equally so. Highly recommend.

What a lovely venue for my 70th Birthday celebration meal! We had the back room to ourselves. I was able to meet with the staff beforehand to discuss our complex allergy requirements. This was no problem at all to them and we were all delighted with our meals on the night. All meals were really well presented. We took in a birthday cake and table decorations. Terri the manageress was very welcoming and gave great service all round. Only one comment : They could do with some ramps for the front entrance step. Our wheel chair user was able to walk up the step with assistance so not too much of a problem.

It does look like a nice restaurant, unfortunately the food is awful.The appetizer didn't arrive, so when the starter came the waitress apologised but said she forgot.I had a Luke warm soup tastless with two tiny pieces of bread. That's the only vegetarian or vegan option.The main was worse, my husband's steak was over cooked, alongside overcooked chips.My dish was spiralised corgette and grated carrots, warm. It was supposed to be an Asian dish. The packet rice it was mixed with simply turned a bland dish into an inedible bland dish. I don't eat desert so chose to have bread and olives with a desert wine. Knowing I'm vegan it's a bit surprising that the olives served were in anchovy oil? In all these guys need to raise their game, food isn't something that people just eat to fuel up, it's supposed to be an enjoyable experience. Allergies are a serious matter. Serving the wrong items to people who have specified their diet is potentially dangerous.
