Sticks'n'Sushi Chelsea in Kensington and Chelsea

Food extremely mixed. Prawns and chicken were overcooked. Sushi lacked flavour (I’ve had much better from whole in the wall places). Chicken balls, beef tataki, and salmon sashimi were excellent. Our waiter was very good but another server got our order confused. Manager came to resolve it; he could do with some basic customer service training like being friendly to customers, but was somewhat resolved. Overall, grossly overpriced for quality and quantity.

Amazing food and outstanding service

The quality of the food was awesome and the staff - were super helpful. We went to the Chelsea restaurant - I think the layout is not the best - meaning it feels where we were sitting - like a corridor. If you see the front of the restaurant - there is so much space for walk-in and more comfortable chairs - not sure that makes sense - as we were 5 diners - we would prefer to have sat at the front of the restaurant - just a thought - great atmosphere and will go back but maybe to a different venue.

Beautiful food. It looks beautiful, tastes fresh and flavours in each dish are quite distinct. This is not a run off the mill Japanese restaurant, you should expect good quality when you dine here. We ordered the Greenkeeper, miso soup and 1 roll, and loved all the dishes in the mix. I would definitely recommend you to visit.

Food was great, everything we ordered exceeded our expectations. The salad with grilled vegetables was great, grilled cod and shishito pepper was also delicious.

Foods ok but they just forget your order and you need to remind them an hour later and they still look lost

The restaurant combines Japanese elements with a minimalist Scandinavian style, which they do well. The selection of sushi, fish, and their own blends of local and Japanese cuisine was very good. The in-house creations particularly stood out. The quality of the fish is also excellent.

As a regular client of several Sticks and Sushi venues, I think the Chelsea branch is one of the most pleasant when it comes to location and atmosphere. I love the upper floor the most. Food and service are outstanding as always at S&S.

Don't leave London without trying crab croquettes, fried cauliflower, shrimp sushi...legendary...

Terrible experience – extremely disappointed. We visited the King’s Road branch and were greeted by a waiter who was visibly unfriendly from the start. He took our order – quite a long one – and disappeared. After waiting for about 20 minutes with no sign of our food, we asked about it. His response? That maybe it’s taking longer because we ordered too much. We waited another 30+ minutes with no update, no service, and no staff even checking in on us. Eventually, after almost an hour of waiting, I had to actively go find someone myself. When I asked another waiter to check on our order, he asked who had served us. I pointed to the original waiter – and that’s when we were told that he had completely forgotten to put our order through. Not only did we waste an entire hour sitting at our table with zero communication or care, but the waiter had the audacity to laugh when he admitted he forgot to submit our order, saying, “Oops, sorry, let me take it now,” as if it was some light-hearted mistake. This level of negligence, disrespect for customers’ time, and complete lack of accountability is unacceptable – especially from a place with such high prices and supposedly premium service. I won’t be returning, and I’ll be telling everyone I know to avoid this location.

Amazing food and service! If you don’t wanna feel heavy after a good meal, do try Sticks’n’Sushi. Waitress that served us was really nice and did wish us a happy Eid. Vigilante and friendly. Just a little note that if there’s a small area that can be made for people who want to pray, it would be great but everything else was amazing!

had a solo lunch at Sticks’n’Sushi and absolutely loved it. The sushi was fresh, vibrant, and beautifully arranged—each bite was full of flavor. I especially appreciated the peaceful atmosphere, which made it a great place to unwind alone with a glass of wine. The service was warm and attentive without being overbearing. A great place to enjoy freshly prepared Sushi and good service and superb location. Remember it’s an open service concept so order food gradually as arrives as made and not as starter, main etc. Upstairs seating is great as away from hustle and bustle street level.

The food was amazing and delicious. All the sushi was tasty and fresh. The war sake was at a perfect temperature. But it was a bit dark to read the menu, I had to use a lanter from my mobile to help me to do it.

Busy, vibrant restaurant that always delivers. Our last visit was particularly special because of the service provided by the restaurant manager Karolina Syzmanick. She is runs this place with calming and efficient way. Her communication style is wonderful. Keep up the good work. We are coming back!

The food here was pretty good. I really enjoyed the tuna tartar and the "Subway" roll. The lamb sticks were also nice. The server was new and in training but could have been more friendly. The food came in a timely manner which was nice because we were very hungry. The overall atmosphere was nice and social. Not too crowded which was nice and the restaurant was very clean. I also liked how I could see the open kitchen and watch them prepare the food.

Never been charged for “filtered “ tap water anywhere else! It is impressive that the “Optional” service fee is charged automatically on the bill

Nice food. Ambience very appealing. But sound levels in desperate need of control as couldn't hear ourselves over the droves groups preferring to shout rather than speak. Very expensive.

AVOID- especially if coeliac or have food allergies I had high hopes for this restaurant, but unfortunately, my experience left much to be desired. From the moment we sat down, the service felt rushed, as though the staff were more concerned with turning tables than ensuring a quality dining experience. Our order arrived incorrect, with missing items, and what did make it to the table was underwhelming. The dishes lacked depth of flavor, relying heavily on an overly sweet sauce that masked rather than enhanced the ingredients. The salmon and beef skewers, in particular, were disappointingly fatty and poorly cooked—bland without the sugary glaze slathered over them. More concerning was the lack of care regarding dietary restrictions. Despite clearly communicating my gluten allergy to multiple staff members, I experienced an adverse reaction, suggesting possible cross-contamination. While they did provide gluten-free soy sauce, something in the meal clearly wasn’t safe, which raises concerns about their handling of allergens. Service was indifferent at best, with staff displaying little attentiveness or effort to rectify the issues. Overall, while the food was edible, it was far from impressive, and the poor attention to detail—both in the kitchen and in service—makes it difficult to recommend this restaurant.

The waitress at the restaurant was exceprionally nice to my mother who was a bit under pressure. She is WAY AND BEYOND the best amd most human waitress I had in a very long while. Congratulations Sticks n'Sushi, we'll remember to book large year-end groups and birthdays with you and ask our employees to do the exact same.

Gorgeous food as always from Sticks but the lack of knowledge of the menu and enthusiasm is a huge downfall for this branch.

Great Japanese food, reasonably priced

Came here for a late lunch. Had been to the convent garden branch a few years back and it was quite tasty so was looking forward to another great meal. NOT! We tried the £19.50 lunch specials - he got sticks and I got the salmon and cucumber sushi wrapped in rice paper. The miso soup and the edamame were tasty. The wakame salad was ok. The rest - inedible. The sticks had no flavor - lamb was over cooked and chicken was in a grossly sweet teriyaki sauce. The sushi was awful. The cucumber was cut too big so you couldn’t taste the salmon and the rice paper way too thick. I couldn’t even finish it it was so bad. The server was none too friendly nor was the host that seated us. Will not be back.

I don't usually leave reviews, but I want to express my gratitude to our server, Senia, for giving us such a wonderful start to 2025. We had a gathering of two large families, and Senia went above and beyond to make our experience special. She not only ensured our food was served promptly and accurately but also shared fascinating insights about Japanese culture. On top of that, she took amazing photos and videos for us, capturing our memorable moments perfectly. What made the experience even more delightful was how Senia connected us with the table next to ours, creating a lively and joyous New Year atmosphere for everyone in the area. Thank you, Senia! We’ll definitely return to hear more of your stories and enjoy another great time.

A very minimalistic but cosy Japanese with a Norwegian twist restaurant on the Kings road in Chelsea.. interesting and mouth watering menu with so much choice either dining alone for a quick bite during shopping or dinner with friends.. something for everyone..eat at the bar seeing everything being prepared or on one of the art deco sofas watching the world go by through large glass windows Crisp professional service being attentive but not intrusive by friendly staff...loved it definitely a 10 and definitely a return visit to explore more 👍⭐

Very commercial sushi, not pricey, but not specially good. Ambience during the week is not great, I assume on the weekends will be better. Great place to go with children or to have a quick lunch or dinner

I’ll start with the positive: the food is always good. The negative: sorry, it’s a bit of an essay. Strap in. The summary: for the price, you’d expect some level of service. Having said on our booking that we were bringing our baby, the staff decided it would be a good idea to seat us at a table where the only place for our pram (our baby therein) was the walkway. The staff member who sat us didn’t seem to think there was anything wrong from a safety perspective with servers wielding trays full of plates, glasses and food directly above a pram with a real, human baby in it. Besides, the other tables were reserved. After we pointed out the obvious and after quite a bit of confusion, we were eventually moved, by one member of staff, who mercifully did have common sense, to the lounge area. We deemed this a success as A&E on a Sunday isn’t notoriously enjoyable. Our relief was short lived. Given their inability to seat anyone within 5 minutes, the area was frequently taken up by 10+ standing people, waiting for tables. Not the best environment if you have to breastfeed an infant. Unless you enjoy a hungry audience. If you do, book now and fill your boots. The kicker: it took 2 hours for some of the food to arrive. We don’t believe this was the case of a systematically slow kitchen though - we saw people who arrived 1 hour after us come and go. When married, a common enemy often unites you. Thank you, Sticks and Sushi, for bringing my wife and I considerably closer together on a Sunday afternoon.

We asked for a table of 2 to which the employee said we’ve got absolutely nothing for the next 2 hours. There were a few tables available around the restaurant however fair enough they might be for reservations. I get out my phone to check if there’s any reservations online to book to which the woman states very rudely and snarky “you won’t find anything all line guys I just told you it’s a 2 hour wait” so we leave due to her rudeness only to find loads of reservations available online one of which in 10 minutes so we book that walk back in greeted by a different employee and she sits us a our table. The whole thing was really bizarre are made us feel like absolute idiots. I don’t know what was going on but the woman clearly thought we weren’t good enough to eat here for some bizarre reason. Horrible experience! Food is always great

A good welcome from a gentleman but an exchange at the table with an absolutely unpleasant young woman. No smile, blasé and obviously, we were annoying him with our order. Rolling your eyes is not appropriate behavior when working in the restaurant industry. If this young woman doesn't like her job, she must have the courage to look elsewhere. We went to the neighbors.

I really loved the food in this Sushi Restaurant. The atmosphere is great and the restaurant has a modern look. Me and my friends tried different plates. The Sushi was great, the kebabs also. Didn't expect such a nice experience overall.

We sat by the window in the front for an afternoon lunch. We were ignored the whole time. Had to walk to the bar to get someone to come and take out order. No one checked in on me & my daughter once. We didn’t get to order more food, drinks nor desert. There were staff around. They just ignored us. Only once we had our coats on, after waiting too long yet again, did someone realise we might want the bill. Super disappointed as we’ve always loved the place & the food there in the past.

My experience tonight was a mix. The food was good, the server was alright. My disappointment is with the manager that runs this place, she definitely needs to learn to speak to all guests in the same tone. We arrived, were greeted, given a table, service was slow, orders were taken after almost 15 - 20 mins of us being seated. Fair it's a busy weekend. The order is served after almost 35 mins. When served I asked the server why the delay, it's been more than 35mins, before she could respond her manager pitches in a flat tone, we had a power cut, I go like okay, she adds, weren't you here when the power went off? I said yeah it went for 10secs, her response was I cannot control the electricity in Chelsea, your order is late coz of power cut, puts the food on table and leaves with the server. This same lady manager then serves on the table next to us and apologizes to them for the delay. I wonder whether her tone depends on the race and ethnicity of people she serves? Mind you our bill was more than 100💷 for 3 which we are alright with coz the food was good. The server however apologized when she came to clear up, sweet girl. I have eaten at multiple restaurants in Europe, England and Scotland, I have not once come across such poor hospitality and communication especially by a senior herself. All in all go for the food, not the service. Our drinks were messed too and had to send back to correct, but it's a long review already. Cheers!

A much hyped venue we were taken to by our daughter. The food was good though not particularly memorable. It was, however, extraordinarily expensive.

Had my doubts but this place actually delivered! The sushi was tasty! The service is on point.. everybody is extremely attentive and things are very well organized.. especially as this location churns through a LOT of people The food came out within minutes of us ordering (very impressive) and was really tasty Highly recommend grabbing one of their bowls.. the rolls were all on point too

I’ve been to a few branches and feel like you can never go wrong with sticks n sushi. I went for dinner and walked in with no reservations. I asked for fresh lemonade, and they even catered it to my taste buds, gave me options of bitter or sweet. This place is always a safe option when craving some sushi!

We love this place. The staff are always friendly, helpful and professional. The food is always good. Yesterday, we had Will as our waiter and he made our dining experience just perfect! He was already ready and happy to help us with all our requests and needs. Thank you Will.

My favourite place I’ve been in London. It has some really great high quality sushi as well as kebabs that are grilled to perfection. I got 2 gyu beef kebabs (sticks) and a mushroom kebab. They tasted pretty good, nothing crazy but it was still good. The sushi was better, I got a crab sushi and a tempura sushi with fish on top. See pic for more deets. It was really good. For starters, we got the broccoli and the sauce for the broccoli is so incredible!!! I highly recommend the broccoli as a starter. Edamame was great too. The lemonade here is AMAZING! Sweet and sour, perfectly refreshing. Cocktails were good except one of them was straight up tequila and a bit much for us (the one with the lettuce leaf, which was also interesting). Expect higher prices, but somewhat worth it. Beautiful interior too. Didn’t expect them to clear my table as I was eating lol but it’s okay I guess. They also put us at the table at the veryyyyyy back even though there were so many empty tables before the back. Not sure why they did that and would’ve preferred not to be put in the back bc I wanted to see the decor bu

We ate lunch here today as a large family. The food now is below average. The mains were served almost cold, which we complained about. They removed them from the bill, which was agreeable however they tried to then charge Us 40 pounds for a cancellation fee as we had booked for 12 and we were 10 our bill was quite large so we were Offended eventually they took off the cancellation fee. It took some complaining and they responded with a poor attitude unfortunately I won’t be eating here again.

my daughter and I got food poisoning from dinner here. She called to tell them we both got sick. They told her it take 48 hours for symptoms of poison to kick in. Sorry they are wrong we got sick and they tried to deflect the issue. We will never go back to Sticks and Sushi and we recommend you don't either.
