I reckon I was also overcharged, we had to wait 30 minutes for three chips and chicken nuggets?? I've just checked on here and reviews say he overcharges which is just another kick in the teeth! 😡 Not happy Steve!

Long wait... Only one staff serving 5/6 coustumers.lunch tine people dont have more then 15/20 min break from work.

Seemingly didn't want any customers at 8:15 on a Saturday evening, with a rude "not serving anymore" grunt as I walked through the door, despite items being clearly visible.

first time here and really friendly stuff! i was their last customer, but got fresh chopped meat (with unexpectedly a little extra) for a very reasonable price 👌🙌 tasted really good and i wasable to pay with card 💳 thanks for the nice chat whilst preparing my take out 😊 what i got: larg portion of kebap (mixed lamb & chicken) & fries price: 11 pounds 🇦🇹

Where do I start ? £44 for 2 mini fish & chips. 1 normal fish & chips 1 battered sausage & chips. Mushy peas & curry sauce. No difference in size of mini & large fish. Also a nice rock in my chips for a nice added touch

Doesn’t Evan deserve the star, Steve looks like a sid from ice age, and also acts like him, his math doesn’t add up, and he also puts up specials that are none existent, charges you double and miss changes you!

i have had the Chicken gyro box & oh my word! very nice Cooked Chicken with beautiful naan & seasoned chips with a seasoned salad & dipping sauce! Big portion very well done, Recommend 10/10

I ordered this at Opening times so it would be fresher, I did think at first for a fish & chips special that it was expensive but when it come, it was in a big tradition fish & chips box & the Fish & chips was actually very big, Chips was lovely & Curry Sauce was Great but the fish!!! Just wow I haven’t had fish like that in Tamworth for a long time, Golden crown with a lovely thin Crunchy batter, beautiful fresh flakey fish & it was not oily at all! Best F&C in Tamworth I recommend ! 10/10

I will say the portions are generous and the food is lovely. A little expensive but cooked fresh which is a lovely touch. However, the service is a little unfriendly. I walked in the shop on a Friday afternoon with when it was very quiet and was ignored. When I finally did come to order, I just felt a bit of attitude from the lady behind the counter. I was happy to wait for the fish to be freshly cooked but they don’t give you any idea of how long it’ll be and just ignore you for 10+ minutes while you wait. I think I’d come back for the food if it was a little bit better in terms of atmosphere.

Over priced compared to every other chip shop in Tamworth and for the price your getting virtually nothing for your money a large chips is the size of other chips shops small or cones the fish is pathetic if you've ever been to mother Hubbard's their £12 fish and chips is literally 4 times the size (the fish and the chips both in size) even a small bag of chips here is the price of a large elsewhere and you get around 30 chips if you're lucky and the east European man that serves there is pig ignorant and has zero customer skills at all it really has gone down hill compared to when lakis old man was running it

Absolutely love Steve's fish and chips best chip shop in Tamworth by far. Staff friendly and knowledgeable about Tamworth, and a good laugh while your waiting for your beautiful food to be cooked.

Not the best fish and chips I've had unfortunately. Fish was rather small and tasted rather bland. Gravy for the chips was bland too.

Absolute waste of time Ordered on their own website quick enough to take an extortionate £30 out my account but don't want to deliver my food Website has no tracking information Phoned up on several occasions no one picked up phone Now we don't know if we're going to get an order even though they've had my money Absolute disgrace and charging top money for goods that you don't receive Absolute daylight robbery 😡😡😡😡👎😡🤬🤬 Don't bother with the place I used this all throughout lockdown as I'm in the vulnerable group they say shop local and this is how they treat the hand that's fed them throughout lockdown and a regular customer but not anymore Avoid this place like the plague

The fish was advertised as large but was very small and an exorbitant price for what we received. Would never order from there again. £40 for fish & chips!!

I had to call the restaurant as after an hour had passed there was no update on the app. They did sound busy, but it would be nice if they updated the app for customers. Food was cold but this could have been down to cold weather, traffic etc. it was still edible, and the food itself was the best fish and chips we’ve had in years. Batter was crispy, no grease, fish was beautifully white with no skin and the chips were nice and crispy. Would order again

First time we’ve ordered from Steve’s. Really enjoyed our food. We had a 9.15pm delivery and the food was still hot and hadn’t dried out in the warmers. The team also threw some extras in our bag with a smiley face note which was a lovely touch. Will go back.

But they did kindly put a freebie in which was nice. And the delivery driver was friendly and polite about it

I only recently used Steve's chip shop for the first time, having lost all faith in one of my favourite meals, I love fish and chips. Over recent months this dish has become ridiculously expensive with the average being around £13 ish. At that price I wanted a shop that could virtually guarantee quality. I've now been twice and the fish is exceptional, the chips have no nasty bits in. I have to travel to Steve's, passing our local chippy, and don't mind doing so to get quality.

Ordered take away tonight and although it was late thanks to justeat, the food was amazing and they chucked in some freebies with a note apologising for the delay. Amazing service and food was definitely worth the wait 😋

Chips wasn't cooked properly. The donner meat pitta had No salad on it. Was smothered in mayo. Couldn't eat it

The chips were very nice, as was the curry sauce, the Pukka steak and kidney pie however was very dry around the case (been in a heated cabinet for too long? (maybe left over from lunch time) or it could have just been a 'bad pie' from the suppliers? Overall enjoyable and hot when delivered.

Usually visit my son & his family in Tamworth 3/4 times a year, when we do first stop Steve's fish and chips. Good quality food and a bit of Banter . Think these guys are getting used to my Scottish accent

Absolutely delicious! I've had a chippy craving for a while and I am so glad I chose Steve's. Crispy batter on the fish absolutely stunning chips, and the peas were full of flavour, nothing worse than bland watery peas and no danger of that here. 11/10 highly recommended

I paid nearly £40 for my order of large fish ,small fish, 2 cones of chips, and 2 curry sauce. I have never seen for £9 the smallest piece of cod, I have fish bigger than that in my fish tank. Absolutely disgusting. Used this place a few times, but this has got to be the worst food from them, there prices don't reflect the quality and quantity of food

Saturday night, called in, chips were done to perfection. Never had a bad meal from here. Friendly staff too, even being rushed off feet!

On arrival the order had not been cooked and 5 people served ahead of us - 15 min collection time turned into a 15min plus 20mins waiting in the shop whilst they served other customers. Would have done better not to order through Just Eat The fish (large cod) was super expensive, undercooked and soggy. It was inedible and was thrown away (£12.50 straight in the bin!)

Steves chippy is an old staple, the perfect place for the classic British take out!. Quality food well made. The original owner now retired his sons run it, as it should be. Great staff too, felt Like nanas kitchen. I wholly recommend this place enjoy!

Ordered fish and chips and sausage and chips - read google reviews and thought would be good - how wrong we were! Chips were greasy and inedible, fish just as bad. Complete waste of money as it ended up in the bin 😞

Disappointed We used this fish n chip shop all over lockdown they never shut down during lockdown now we’ve noticed that there prices have all gone up by an alarming rate on everything It’s a shame because the food is always fresh and top notch it’s just a shame he’s got to greedy on the pricing We know things have gone up but £12.50 for a cod or haddock or seabass Seabass you can buy fresh for £3.50 just feel like we’re being ripped off the price seems to change every time you look at the menu

Fish was ok but extremely greasy. chips were disappointing as they were barely cooked. The meal was very expensive and we barely ate any of it.

Ok so food was pretty nice but service is slow and wait times are very long very very long over 30 mins for 4 cod chips n mushy then comes the price. Some cash in my pocket and a credit card. 1. Cards not accepted cash only. 2 they charged just over £60 paid as I was hungry and the oldies I had taken out for the day wanted chippy tea. Portions pretty small but the prices are ridiculous high for no reason. Its take out not the ritz. Will not be going back

Decent enough standard chippy food, but let down by everything being INSANELY expensive and by the really dated and, frankly, dirty-looking 80s decor in shop. Also the guy behind the counter is quite intense and overbearing - stares at you while you're waiting and joins in on private conversations uninvited 😕 Definitely will go somewhere more clean, modern and affordable in future!

Astronomal pricing. The most expensive price for fish that I've encountered anywhere. The proprietor is smug and self satisfied, and is rude to customers. I wanted to order fish and chips, but when I was given the price, I told him to put them back in the safe. To be avoided at all cost, drive on, find somewhere else............I did.

Rip off!!! Just tried them for the 1st time, they was recommended. But i will not be recommending them to anyone else. Very limited menu, looks a bit drab and old inside. I paid £13.30 for Haddock and small chips with small curry sauce and a can of pop which i think is robbery for an average tasting fish and chips, paid half the price elsewhere and had better. The Atlantic fish bar is miles better with better quality and more choice. Could of had a chinese for that much aswell and more delivered to my doorstep. Also im sure some of the reviews are off the delivery drivers and friends.

Food turned up hot, delivery driver was pleasant. Meal was delicious. Batter was crispy and not greasy, fish was white and not oily. Chips were cooked perfectly. Best takeaway we’ve had in months. Will definitely order again!

Before ordering concerned about price of fish, the meal arrived hot loads of chips with a very nice taste. The mushy peas were fantastic and very nice. The batter on the jumbo sausage was very nice thin crispy batter. The batter on the fish again was excellent, and the fish was very nice, but my concern came to light about the size not xxl but xl. I have had bigger but ive got to say not better, the price was for the loverly batter and taste, would I order again, most definitely, want the best well you have to pay for it, overall fantastic meal.
