Vanessa was sooooooo amazing and was so attentive, the afagato was my favourite, I will come back again many times.

Delicious, definitely go and try the limited time white asparagus menu.

All as it ought to be… very tasty, fulfilling, and with exemplary attentiveness. Recommended if one finds oneself in on this Kingston reach of the river.

We booked this fantastic restaurant for a Friday evening dinner with friends, and it exceeded all expectations! The eisbeins were absolutely scrumptious and perfectly cooked, paired with tangy sauerkraut and a delicious mustard sauce. For starters, we enjoyed beautifully prepared white asparagus, and we rounded off the evening with a heavenly apfelstrudel. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about the menu, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. The service was attentive without being intrusive and a perfect balance. We’ll definitely be back. Steins is a gem on the riverside and a must-visit for lovers of authentic German cuisine.

A bit on the pricy side but lovely staff and great atmosphere

I came here for a dinner to catch up with a friend and we had a wonderful time. We sat outside and had a wonderful view of the River Thames. A heating lamp and blanket were provided to keep us comfortable while we ate outside. The waitstaff was very kind and did not rush us at all. I had ordered the Cordon Bleu which was good! My friend had the veal schnitzel which she enjoyed as well. Wish I took a picture because everything looked pretty! Next time I’ll definitely have to try their sausage dishes

Never disappoints, lovely friendly staff and delicious food.My wife had the Chicken Schnitzel and I enjoyed my usual the Veal Schnitzel and don’t forget the German beers 🍺. Lovely lunch last Saturday 😋 17/05/25 Disciplining 😔

Friendly staff, decent beer if you like the German type, bit pricey for portion size,100 quid for 2 people, with service charge! Benches bit uncomfortable .

This is the first time that I feel full belly since I have landed in the UK. So the portions are very big and delicious! Highly recommended apple strudel! The best ever had(I have tastes in Germany and Vienna though) the staff are amazing, very lovely ladies! Strongly recommended not only for the taste but also the location! By the thames river plus there is a parking lot which has many spots in. Definitely will visit again! Can’t recommend enough the beers! All of them are amazing!

Good: 1.Fun atmosphere (at least when we visited). 2.Outdoor veranda (surprisingly large) overlooking the Thames is great in good weather. 3.A more-than-adequate selection of beers and lagers, bottled and draught + other drinks too (obviously!). 4.Our waiter. Bad: 1.Portion sizes - desperately, meanly, woefully inadequate and quite unlike a typical restaurant in Germany. We left hungry and stepped across the road to Nando's. 2.Food prices - about a third more than restaurants within 150m, and wholly unjustified. 3.Backless bench seating with a just a thin, felt mat to soften (but barely) the awful, back-aching experience of sitting on a bench. 4.Service Charge of 12.5 per cent. Overall: OK for those who want to drink a lot of Steins of German beer at about £17.50 a time (inc Service) --- but do eat before or after, not here. Message to Owner/Management: Portion sizes, food prices and seating need sorting - otherwise you'll go the same way as Jamie Oliver who briefly operated very close to you but failed to address his restaurants' shortcomings and went bust.

Had a wonderful time here today. The service at the start was slightly slower than usual but once we ordered our food it seemed to improve. The atmosphere was great and reminded me of my travels to Germany. The food was excellent, I will definitely be returning again soon.

When I visit Kingston I always go to Stein's. We can both only recommend it. Good and tasty food, appropriate portions and great ambience, right on the Thames.

Delicious food, huge portions, great value and service, really friendly staff and lovely decor. The restaurant had a great atmosphere The sharing platter for 2 people was excellent - a lovely selection of sausages, tasty meatloaf, lovely sauerkraut and loads of mash A fantastic meal!

I think I will order again the Schweinshaxe and Kaiserschmarren

Sausages are very delicious both pork and beef. We went there for one our friend’s birthday. The atmosphere is very nice. They brought a shot for my friend to have only because it was her birthday.

Great german pub. Pork knuckle is awesome

German restaurant. Fantastic vibe. Stylish, warm with nice river view! We enjoy a friend’s gathering here. Only serve hot coffee but with variety of beer. The pretzel is freshly made and is very popular for kids. Kids meal menu is available. The pork knuckle also good with gravy sauce. We also tried the fish salad tastes yummy! Worth to come back again and high recommended!

Always an amazing experience at Stein’s Kingston. Authentic Bavarian food and great selection of drinks. Service is above and beyond, especially Katja who speaks both German and English, so you really feel like you’re in the Bavarian Alps. We celebrated my husband’s birthday in the area upstairs and it was one of the best parties ever! I highly recommend.

Very please with the service. Went on a cold day and preferred to sit in the main body of the restaurant which they were very accommodating to. Food was great and full of flavour. We had the schnitzel, red sausage and the curry sausage with a side of red cabbage, would recommend all three. Wide variety of drinks. Great service despite busy atmosphere. Very attentive staff

Don’t visit as much as I should. The food is really filling so you won’t leave hungry. Would recommend as it’s rare to find a good Bavarian restaurants. Drinks: Great selection of helles. I really enjoyed my gluhwein. Mains: I had the beef roulade which was nice. Really enjoyed the dumping. Red cabbage wasn’t the best I’d had. We also ordered the farmers feast which was yummy. Food slightly on the expensive side but given it’s a small business I can understand. Atmosphere: Nice decor and the service was very very speedy even in a Friday night. Recommendation: would love to be able to get a chimney cake for dessert (not Bavarian but would be so good after the meal)

Came here for a late lunch. Very generous portions, the good is very good and reasonably priced. They have some good larger and the staff and very friendly. They also have an outdoor section which looks over the river. Worth a visit.

A bit away from main Kingston town, closer to riverside. Great Bavarian food! Very flavoursome. Staff are very kind and accommodating - all speak German too. Interior is cosy/warm vibes. Outdoor seating as well as indoors, great for summer which overlooks the river.

We always visit this superb little restaurant at Christmas and It never fails to impress. It has excellent food and drinks and super polite staff. Also really nice views out to the Thames.

Food was served promptly and exceeded expectations, including the dessert! Service was great and timely. The atmosphere of a log cabin in the mountains, warm and welcoming.

A fantastic dining experience with incredible food and service. Staff were attentive and always happy to help, particularly Jakob, who looked after us brilliantly. The goulash, red-herring salad and apple strudel were the clear highlights of the meal, however each and every item was well received by all. Always a pleasure visiting a Steins.

Absolutely an amazing night thanks to all the servers on the 23/12/24. We all had an amazing meal and amazing drinks including das boot!!!

Service was amazing, kind and courteous cannot fault at all. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming almost like your local pub. However the food was the let down. It was extremely small portions for the high price point. And lacked any real authentic taste that other offerings of the same dishes at alternate restaurants do.

What a cosy and welcoming restaurant. Atmosphere was really inviting with divers of all ages from young families with babies to older couples. Great service and selection of food and beers, along with a festive menu options. The apple strudel was delicious!

I’ve been going there for years and at this point, it feels more like going for pilgrimage than eating out. It ain’t that cheap but you do get what you what you pay for. Their sausages and meat are so good, it’s hard to beat them. Definitely worth it to cheer you up if you’re having one of the wurst days. I’d book a table if I were you cause it gets busy. Also, might wanna skip breakfast/lunch as the portions are not for the faint of stomach. We are beer-ly Frankfort-unate to have a place like that in Kingston. I’ll stop here, let them do the glazing and leave you a loin.

What a great find. Cozy in the winter. Open and airy in the summer (on the river). Food is legit and varied. Knowledgable staff with great recommendations. A bit noisy at times, but this adds to the excitement.

I miss this restaurant, even I have been living in Germany since 2018. It is one of the restaurants you don't check prices if you go there. Everything is as it should be, always perfect!

The currywurst is sensational, the best I've ever had, the cheese and ham platter is also very good. Service is always great. Just an all round great experience.
