Chef is fantastic, new menu is extremely poor which is disappointing for us as regular customers. Not sure we will come back much anymore as a result

We stopped here for a coffee when cycling the fallowfield loop as it was busy and had good reviews. Despite a lovely location and friendly staff, the coffee was absolutely awful. We didn’t even finish the cappuccino or latte and it was a real shame as the place had so much potential. Didn’t eat here but would not recommend for coffee.

Great place for a stop off when cycling but everyone knows that anyway. Food was great and good to see money invested back into the cycling / community

a little slice of lewes found within levenshulme. when i first arrived i was extremely disoriented. i felt as though i was back down south once again. staff are very friendly and made me feel safe and welcomed promptly.

Had my first Sunday roast here, and it was surprisingly delicious. The staff were friendly and helpful. Love the spacious interior, high ceiling and the window seat, which made the vibe really relaxing. A perfect spot for a serene Sunday.

Just has the Lamb Roast Dinner at Station South. Rather nice especially as I'm not keen on lamb. The vegetables were great as was the Yorkshire pudding. Just enough gravy. I'll be back as someone famously said.

Just had Sunday roast at this place, overpriced for what you get, nearly all the meals came out lukewarm, the lamb was succulent but after it came back warmed up it was tough.Very disappointing, their description on there menu is not what you get, had better roast elsewhere at a cheaper price.Will not be back

an awful website... no information on how to make contact by phone. I walked there today...7 kms..and left a bag of dog treats on my table. To save a14 kms round trip in vain i decided to phone to see if they had been kept for me. HOW TO PHONE ???? ........my review must now be tempered with the fact that i was finally able to contact them , and they replied promptly and helpfully. so i can add some stars to that service section.

The Sunday roast here is amazing!!! We booked for a very large group for a celebration - the staff were so lovely and even let us bring our own cake for my granny. I’ve been here many times and the food, service and atmosphere is always excellent!

After seeing lots of good reviews a small scouting group cycled to the station today to see if we could make it a regular stop for the whole of our cycling group. The menu looked lovely and varied and the cafe wasn’t busy. However, 35 minutes after we ordered, 1 soup, 3 simple bacon butties and 1 banana bread, our food still had not been served. At this point we asked how long the food might be. Within a couple of minutes our food was then delivered and was not very warm. So, not a very good experience. In fact probably the poorest service we have experienced. Therefore we won’t be calling at this cafe again.

Had an amazing time with my friends. Absolutely in love with the vegan options and the atmosphere of the place. Would be great to propose throw blankets for tables that are set in the "veranda" though, it can be chilly even with the heaters on. 🙏

I love it here! I’ve been for breakfast as well as drinks after work and the atmosphere is amazing every time and there’s always something going on. As a gluten-free vegetarian I’d highly recommend the veggie manc muffin.

Accompanied by my wife and our two grown-up daughters, we were treated to a memorable Sunday lunch that felt like a quintessential London dining experience, right in the heart of Levenshulme. The highlight of our meal was undoubtedly the roast lamb and roast chicken, both cooked to perfection. The lamb was tender and flavorful, while the roast chicken was succulent and well-seasoned. Each dish was accompanied by a delightful selection of sides that complemented the mains beautifully. For dessert, we indulged in rhubarb pie and sticky toffee pudding. The rhubarb pie was a lovely balance of tart and sweet, with a perfectly flaky crust. Meanwhile, the sticky toffee pudding was rich and decadent, a true treat for the senses. The wine selection was commendable, and I thoroughly enjoyed the Merlot I chose. It paired wonderfully with the meal, enhancing the flavors of both the lamb and the chicken. Genuinely the best breakfast I've had, everything was completely spot on

Went to station south for the first time today, I ordered the bravas potatoes. When I got the dish and tasted it, it was very very spicy. I’m not good with spice so I didn’t eat it. I mentioned it to the waiter as it doesn’t say it’s spicy on the menu and he said that the chef got the paprika and the chili mixed up so it was spicy today. It wasn’t comped and he didn’t ask if I wanted an alternative. Coffee was nice, the people were nice, shame about the food and the fact that nothing was done about something they knew was a problem

Great food and service. Chris recommended a range of dishes for us and they were all amazing. Really good quality food, generous portion sizes and great value for money. Can’t wait to try a Sunday roast

Lovely place with an awesome garden.

I've been here several times now - on my own , with my vegan friend and today I tried the Sunday roast, veggie for me and traditional roast for my teenage son. We both loved it. Food was delicious, authentic homemade food with a wide variety of well prepared veg. The service was quick, helpful and friendly. I love the community hub feel, the outdoors garden space and the local art on the wall. Modern vibe in a fabulous old building.

A place to go for food and drink with indoor and outdoor seating, very nice on a summer day.

Although food and place is lovely, the staff have bad energy. I would guess the management or owners are not managing right or are not nice people. Something is amiss. The staff are either over over nice, or just mardy. More than someone having a bad day. The staff are not rude and they work well, but I can get the feeling they are not particularly happy. Something, I can't put my finger on, but ruins my visit everytime I've been.

Beautiful heritage building, very attentive staff and good atmosphere. Lovely menu. Food was 'decent' bread was very tough, eggs were overdone but still nice, however the bacon was incinerated. £45 for 2 breakfasts, 2 drinks and an egg custard 😮 Ultimately, it is very nice food but when contrasted with the price it is a bit ridiculous.

Great repurposing of a former train station. The building itself is over the old railway line and there is a kind of glassed observation area which has good views. This is slightly more than a cafe, it has a bar and often after hours events. We were seen promptly and although not vegetarian we both enjoyed the non-meat options, which were fresh and filling. Very positive staff, good indoor seating and extensive outdoor seating. There is even a cycle repair station in the building. Really enjoyed my visit. Noted quite a few were using it to 'work from home' and that didn't seem a problem for the team, as long as you get a brew.

First time visiting here and what can I say! I can’t believe that I live so close and have never visited before. Friendly staff and great atmosphere. Had the small plates, got a variety of different dishes and all were just as good as the other. Fresh food, full of flavour and nothing else in the area comes close! To top it off they have a great selection of beer🍻

I've cycled past here ( or underneath more accurately) for years without knowing it was a cafe. Great location on the Fallowfield loop. It's an old train station and now serves great food and drink. Plenty of seating indoors and out, though it's clearly popular and gets busy. Well worth a visit.

Really amazing roast dinners of a Sunday, great veggie options, roast chicken too… all the sides are delicious, great range of soft drinks and puds too. Make sure you arrive hungry - you’ll leave happily stuffed! Speaking of which - try the stuffing. It was great.

Nice vibe, good pub style food. Always slow service, don’t go when you’re feeling “hangry” I made that mistake.

Very disappointed with my experience at Station south! I came in for a drink with my friend before going out and ordered two single gins. Tapped my card on the machine to realise I had been charged £21.30!! Me and my friend sat debating on whether this was correct or not, as they do not have any spirit prices listed on their drinks menu. We thought surely not and called who we assumed the manager was over. He told us that a single gin was £5 something and so said he would go and check with the lady who served us. He came back and said that we were given doubles- which again I specifically did not ask for! He told us that since we had drank these we could not be reimbursed for the difference. First of all, not only is it very dangerous to be giving out the wrong measurements of alcohol to customers who aren’t aware but it is also terrible customer service to make customers pay for employee mistakes! Especially £21 mistakes! We did not receive an apology for this mistake or anything. I do not know if the manager believed us or what but this has really upset us and we won’t be coming back. I did not say anything else at the time due to not wanting to appear confrontational but I genuinely feel that if an older person had complained there would be a different outcome.

I came here for the first time today and there is an overwhelming sense of community. Families are here, I sat and read. The food is DELICIOUS. Head chef Chris’ food was filled with flavour and was eaten in one go! Can’t recommend this place enough if you want to feel welcome and seen.

Incredible Sunday dinner at station south! Best vegan roast in Manchester without a doubt. The breakfast and normal menu are also absolutely banging and I’m spoilt for choice, couldn’t recommend enough!! it’s always a lovely atmosphere, lively in the evening and chilled in the day with lots of doggies and families around.

They are doing the best coffee and vegetarian breakfast around here. Service is always fabulous as well.

Absolutely gorgeous place - one of my favourites in Manchester. The food is consistently high quality along with the service and atmosphere. Generous portion sizes, absolutely delicious every time as well as a good variety to choose from. Excellent value for money too. Service is always brilliant, everyone is so attentive and friendly - can’t fault it Station South always put on good events, live music etc too. Has a decent outdoor area, couldn’t ask for more when it’s sunny. Highly recommend

I love this spot. Sitting to the back and over the looking the loop with a coffee on a nice day is one of my favourite afternoon activities. It can get rather warm in the garden room on hot days though.

My first time visiting the cafe as I’m not from the area but I have started to lead the Walking Mums Club walk from Station South around Highfield Park. I popped in last week firstly for a drink to take out and the guy on the till was so lovely and friendly. I then returned with a couple of mums and our children and the woman who seemed to be in charge was extremely accommodating and made sure we had a nice place to sit. I ordered the Manc Muffin and I’m not exaggerating it’s probably the best breakfast item I’ve ever ordered from a cafe. Will definitely be back for more!!!

Little oasis of calm. Sat overlooking cycle path. Great coffee and brownie. Sunday Roast delicious but quite small for the cost , and limited choice Sunday Lunch. Not the cheapest but maybe normal for City ?

Nice place but I was shocked to pay 50p extra for coffee to be decaff and 1.20 extra for an extra shot. Not reasonable pricing IMO

Nice place, food ok but not to my taste.

Three of us visited for a late lunch/early tea. We were impressed by the range of the menu, especially the vegetarian choices available. We had a selection of small plates from their new menu and every one of them was equally delicious. The service was great and staff very attentive. The whole place has a friendly atmosphere and we will definitely be visiting again.

Their Sunday roast is unreal. Best in the area. Used to have a favourite (not naming names!) but since trying Station South’s it’s been pipped to the post. Highly recommend!

Finally went in here today after going past many times on the 192. Really good food, friendly staff and nice setting! Chai latte with oat milk was very good. The banana bread was tasty and my partner enjoyed the Moroccan spiced veg bowl. Will be back to try more things!

Dog friendly cafe, quite busy, enclosed balcony over old railway now cycle way. Street parking possible but is busy residential & shopping area. Polite caring service, arrived too early for lunch at 11.30 so chose interesting mushroom & mixed potato hash, unfortunately a bit too cold for me but ate it anyway.

Nice little spot that sits on the F Loop. A good place to break on a days walk. We popped in on a Sunday, it was busy, which speaks volumes.

I visited last week at dinner time, I was in a bit of a rush but got a table straight away and was served very quickly. The food was excellent, served up by a really friendly waitress. There is a real nice vibe to the place. I will definitely visit again

Station South is a big family favourite in our house. It doesn't matter if you want to go for a nice walk and a pint, or sit in and have a something delish to eat - they have it all. The FOH team are all so nice, it feels like you've popped round to your friends for a brew. Extra points go to the kitchen team - I challenge you to find nicer hashbrowns (you can't!!). Can't wait for more summers spent sat in their beer garden. We love you SS!!

Cannot recommend this place enough! We went on a work Christmas party and they looked after 18 of us. The food was really good. High-quality and really well cooked. The chef was a really nice guy and introduced himself. He was proud of his food and rightly so. Excellent service and very attentive. We have been to many different places over the years, and this was without doubt the best. Thanks guys. 😀

Big fan. Went here for a Sunday roast, following a friends recommendation, and we were not disappointed. You don't have to order extra sides, as you do with most places in Manchester. It comes with everything that you need. It was also, of course, delicious! So far, the best Sunday roast dinner in Manchester. We will be back.

I've wanted to try this place for a while, you order at the bar which is fine. However our food took a really long time. Our friend got hers first and she ordered after us, but she didn't get her drinks and had to ask. The food totally made up for it. Our Maccys style breakfast muffins were delicious and massive! The salt and pepper halloumi just the right side of saltiness. The vibe is really cool and they have some great drink selections.

Popped in for a beer, busy and popular place, like it! Will be back for some food at some point...
