Best place in Stonehaven both pub and restaurant. Fantastic atmosphere, food was delicious and staff were always so polite and helpful. Only minor fault (a personal opinion) was that I felt the macaroni cheese was a bit too cheesy.

Went in on Friday afternoon for a meal, the lounge was very busy and livley, the waitress found a table at the window for us, one of us had the chicken and i had the burger, well the portion size was very large, perfect in every way.

Had lunch in the dining room, which was lovely and quiet. Were advised that we would have to wait around 45mins for lunch as they were so busy but we didn't wait that long at all. The veggie haggis burger was absolutely delicious, their coleslaw is one of the best and chips are lovely. There was nothing negative about this meal. Service is great and will definitely be returning.

Stayed 2 nights on our Dundee to Aberdeen coastal walk. Located next to the train station its a gem of a hotel. Great food and a massive selection of whiskies in the lounge bar Rooms were spotless and all the staff were so so friendly. Breakfasts were amazing. A massive shout out to whoever does the omlettes in the morning, have to say the best ever I have tasted ( and believe me i have had a few)

A few mates and I met there for some food. Service was good, with a smile and they were attentive without being overly so. Ordered the chicken Panko (I think) and it was really good. Another friend had the steak and ale/Guinness pie. And we were all very happy. Good portions, hot and tasty food. The rest of the menu looked good as well, but the chicken is good. And their coleslaw is a winner! You must have that too.

Great lunch with family from Glasgow, I had the Cullen Skink which was fabulous followed by the Haddock and chips, and looking at the other meals served to my wife and in-laws they looked just as nice, these ranged from the special burger to the Chilli bowl, the service by Lynne and her team was great, my mother in Law took the pensioners portion Steak Pie which was just right for her, a special day

After returning to stonehaven after 3 years away I went to the station for some lunch and drinks with friends, food was terrific as it’s always been if not better, although the staff had changed they were as friendly as ever, can’t wait to visit again.

Been going to the Station Hotel for years, can always guarantee a lovely meal, staff very friendly, the bar is very welcoming and entertaining at times too, always get a laugh with the locals. Food is amazing, varied menu also so caters to most tastes, plentiful portions and fantastic quality. Overall my absolute 100% place to go to for a meal or even just a sociable drink.

My friends and I have been visiting for years. Every time is just as good as the previous. The bar and lounge area has a great atmosphere and cosy feel, with the friendly staff always topping off the experience. The food has never let us down over the years and will be continuing to enjoy the great quality food they serve.

Poor show that a regular - weekly customer since way before Covid is not valued by this establishment… Our booking was Bumped from the quiet dining room to the busy and noisy bar - no consideration at all given that some in the party have hearing issues and the bar was totally unsuitable for dining and conversation. So after spending a short time in the noisy bar area we left and went somewhere that does care about its customers! 🥰 But one thing is sure, because of your attitude we won’t be back! You probably don’t care but you’ve lost a regular source of income! A tip for you - if you care to learn! In future value your regular customers as they are your bread and butter! But you’ve lost us now!

Food was average definitely changed chef food was good about 2 years ago!! Standard has slipped big time

New to the area and trying out some local restaurants. The Station is rated number 2 in Stonehaven and having tried some of the others further down the list - we were excited to eat here. It was really quite disappointing - the environment is dated, the food pretty unexciting and whilst the staff were quick - they were disinterested. The food arrived fast, wine list very limited and we were out in less than 45 minutes. Can’t quite understand why it has such high ratings - there are several much better restaurants in the area.

There is a steak night on 1st Monday of a month. This is the second time we have been. The Steaks are beautiful and cooked to perfection. Great service great and the place is booked up as word has obviously spread! Well worth a visit.

I enjoyed the food and half of their service was fine. Birthday meal out with a Table of 8 (6adults and 2 kids). When I first went to drop off a birthday cake earlier in the day a member of staff told me to go into the kitchen and give it to the chefs, not sure how sanitary that really is and I definitely felt awkward doing it. Not sure why she couldn’t have taken it but anyhooAt the meal All the food was great. Kids food cane out quickly and everyone enjoyed there meal. We’ll done chefs. The one issue with the night was when we arrived we were told our booking was changed from 8 people to 6. Now, I booked the meal a week beforehand and had no idea how this happened. We were made to almost feel guilty by one staff member as they exclaimed ‘we’re fully booked tonight, well the booking has definitely been changed’. The young waitress was lovely and sorted an extra table. We eventually saw that another large table in the place had 2 empty seats all night so someone had edited the wrong booking. The wait at the end of the meal was very long and we sat with empty drinks for quite some time.

Had an early evening meal here - scampi and chips. Quite speedy service on the food - surprisingly so. Reasonable pricing and pleasant surroundings.

I stayed here for 5 nights when visiting my son his wife and my little grandson. The staff were friendly, approachable and helpful and the room was beautifully clean and comfortable. Breakfast was fantastic with a good choice of different things even if I did have the same things every morning! But it’s not often you get such nice poached eggs.The room was warm and welcoming, which with comfortable bed and clean en-suite made my stay perfect

Lunched here last week, Gourdon haddock excellent and reasonably priced, my wife had lasagne which she loved, will certainly be back.

I have stayed here twice and both times it has been fantastic. Warm comfortable rooms beautifully clean with very comfortable beds. Breakfast was fantastic freshly cooked as requested. Staff were very helpful cheerful and friendly.I will be returning many more times as I come up to visit my new grandson.

I dined with my friends last night. We had a 7pm booking for 6 people. Two of our party were held up and hadn't arrived by 7:30pm. In that 30 mins we were not offered a drink. A staff member asked if the other 2 for our party were still coming, we apologised and said they're on their way. Said staff member then said that the table was booked for someone else after us and if we didn't order soon we couldn't dine there. At this point there were at least 4 other empty tables in restaurant. So we photographed menu and messaged it to friends. While we waited for their reply we had to attract staff member attention to ask for drinks. We were then told by a different staff member our food order had to be in by 8.15pm as that was chefs last orders (we ordered by 7.50pm). I then asked why the first lady had said table was being used for double service when it clearly wasn't. She looked confused.I understand closing orders and indeed the frustration when party members are late but this was poor attitude from staff who made us feel very much like an inconvenience. The food however was delicious and rest of service good.

Stopped here on the way up to Aberdeen, and were delighted to find this restaurant serving some of the best steak pie eaten recently. Many good options on the menu - so just go, and enjoy!

This is a lovely place that has been famous for its food for a long time. The food and desserts are great

Stayed here recently as visiting one of my Sons. Hotel was handy for his house, and adjacent to the Train Station (clue in hotel name)

You always get a tasty good plateful at The Station, and this visit was no exception. Opted to try the smoked bacon and beef lasagne, and it was just what was needed to cheer me up on a miserable dreich day. It was very flavoursome, and really enjoyed the yummy cheese sauce covering it. Had planned on leaving space for a pudding, but sadly I was full to the gunnels and could find none (space that is!)Partner had the house-burger & really enjoyed it too. Always a good dining experience, and the staff are fab too.

Friday lunch with my mum and dad was very good Fish and chips ,chicken fillets and the battered prawns with Katsu curry sauce. Friendly waitress Good lager and wine We will be back.

Last night my wife described her meal as the best steak she'd ever had. Mine was superb too. It's always been great food here and superb value. The Haggis and Whisky and the Cracked Pepper and Brandy sauces were sublime.

Well what can I say this hotel serves up amazing food first class service too, went to our first steak night on Monday, steaks were cooked to perfection and service excellent will be back every month for more 🤩

Was in for the Monday Steak night that they do the first Monday of every month with a group of 6 friends and it was amazing! We all had steaks, a mixture of sirloin and fillet cuts and they were all cooked to perfection! accompanied with chips, salad, coleslaw, tomatoes, mushrooms and onion rings it was a very generous meal. The whole restaurant/lounge was full but staff were polite and friendly as always! 100% recommended.

As regulars of the station hotel we had heard good things about the monthly steak night, so we went along lastnight. we were not disappointed! What a plateful, the steak was cooked to perfection.

Hard to get a table as place buzzing 1800 hours Sunday so booking recommended. Staff quick to advise restaurant full and to take a chance on getting a bar table. Another waitress came over soon after and asked if we were wanting food and said she’d just cleared a suitable table. Attentive. Good wholesome food and reasonably priced. Nice selection of beverages and staff pour a decent pint!

Great food, great price. I had the build your own burger with chilli and cheese. Best burger I have had this year, substantial and very tasty. My wife had the chilli, which was delicious. Followed by caramel malteser cake, which was delicious. Unexpected gem, Well worth calling in before Aberdeen, where we were staying, if you are travelling north.

Visited the Station Hotel for a workmate' s leaving do and we ended up eating dinner in the lounge bar. I had the chicken melt with chips and salad. The chicken was covered with a delicious mushroom, bacon and cheese sauce. Others had the chicken jalfrezi special, surf and turf burger and chicken fillets. The food was tasty and nicely presented and everyone seemed to enjoy their meals. The lounge itself was quite busy due to its popularity but not unbearable. The band that came on later was quite good and even had two workmates up dancing.

Another return visit for us. Food is always excellent and service friendly and attentive. Prices reasonable too.

The station hotel has recently started a steak night on the first Monday of the month. It was trialled last Monday OMG fantastic value and steak delicious. £16.95 for sirloin or £19.95 for fillet! this price includes all the chips, onion rings mushrooms and a choice of sauce, unlike some places where sauces etc are extra cost. Definitely recommend we are already booked for next Monday.

I called in to the Lounge Bar on a midweek afternoon for a pot of tea while waiting to meet a train at the nearby station. Tea was nicely served and accompanied by a thick piece of shortbread. It sure beat waiting on a chilly station platform. Ask the friendly staff for the code for free wifi.

A group of friends and I visited the station hotel this evening, we sat in the lounge to eat and the food was excellent! Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meal and the “Monday night steak night” went down a treat! I had The sirloin steak which was cooked perfectly and was very tasty! I would highly recommend the station hotel for great food and a nice friendly atmosphere :)

I visited yesterday with a party of WI ladies. I was the one who organised the trip and from the initial visit to book to the time we departed after our meal the service was amazing. The staff were friendy, polite and could not do enough for us. They realy are a credit and staff to be proud of, our meal was served quickly with no fuss and the food can only be described as out of this world. The choice was varied and had something to suit everyone and the cakes were fantastic with the meringues still being talked about on the way home. No mean feat for a party of WI ladies ! I can't wait to return with my family for a meal sometime soon. Thank you everyone for making this a memorable visit.

I had the Panko breaded chicken, it was simply amazing. I’m normally very fussy when it comes to have chicken in restaurants. I can’t fault this dish one bit. It was cooked perfectly and just tasted amazing.

Good food in great atmosphere, large portions lots of choice. Lots of families, couples, groups of friends. Would definitely recommend.

Saßen zum Abendessen im Barbereich. Bestellt hatten wir einen Burger und eine Hähnchen-Speck-Lauch Lasagne. Jeweils dazu wurden Salat oder Gemüse und Pommes oder Kartoffeln angeboten. Getränke holte man sich selber von der Bar und ließ diese auf seine Tischnummer schreiben. Während der Auflauf eher Durchschnitt war übertraf der Burger meine Erwartungen. Standardmäßig mit drei Zwiebelringen serviert waren sowohl der Salat, das Fleisch auch als das Brot qualitativ wirklich gut.

Stayed here for one night when visiting my son and his wife, lovely quiet place to stay. Room was lovely with a good size en-suite, kettle available with plenty of tea and coffee available and a very comfortable bed.

Had a nice meal here with friends recently. Good no nonsense food & plenty of it. Worth a visit if you're in Stonehaven.

We had a really lovely waitress. Very friendly and efficient. We both had the steak pie and the Malteser cheesecake. The steak pie was delicious as was the cheesecake. Nice selection of wine. Everything was very reasonably priced too.

If you are looking for, good quality food, helpful staff, great value, it has to be The Station Hotel Stonehaven. The public bar has a great atmosphere. There is also a beer garden. This hotel is a must when you visit Stonehaven.

Nice welcome from friendly bar staff and waitresses. The restaurant is a pleasantly decorated area and our food arrived promptly.

We popped in for lunch today. Had the veggie haggis burger meal. Wow! Everything on the plate from the coleslaw to the salad , onion rings, the burger, the chips and even the roll holding the burger was perfect. A really good quality meal and at a very reasonable price. All three of us loved our meals. I would highly recommend coming to The Station. Friendly and efficient service too. Will definitely come again.

This is our third week at the station hotel. We are working locally and were allocated this venue to stay in. Firstly the food is superb the staff are hard working and friendly the boss Murry is extremely helpful and the accommodation is totally professionally cleaned and very comfortable. Thank you to everyone one who made our stay a quality experience.

Visited here for Saturday lunch. Fantastic choice on the menu. Just couldn’t decide what to have. Cullen Skink was delicious as was the Islander burger. Just superb. Venue was really busy but still had great service. Good value. We will be back :))
