Starbucks Coffee in Dumfries & Galloway

Absolutely disgusting service, the girl behind the counter was more interested in bragging she only had a year to do and she was off . Hated working with customers, clearly the customer could hear. Waited 20 minutes for a latte and a cappuccino, people where coming in and getting there drinks whilst we are still waiting, then when u dare to mention it said girl ,was banging the cups on the counter, and told the other girl to do them, still we waited and 10 minutes. Again DISGUSTING SERVICE

Starbucks is our go to coffee shop wherever we go and this visit was as we expected.

3rd visit and more to come. Perfect every time with pleasant staff who keep a clean happy house!

I wouldn't rate this place it was a necessity visit.

Typical Starbucks. Unfortunately staff training in progress, so service quite slow. Appreciate this is necessary, but should ensure they keep wait time under control.

Cold. I can only assume that Starbucks keep their places cold on purpose to discourage their customers staying too long or force them to buy another hot drink.

Visit this location often when passing through. I'd just like to acknowledge the always kind and courteous staff, even in the event of the obnoxious gentleman needlessly whining at employees for no reason other than to create a scene. Will be back 🙂

30 customers queuing, 2 staff, 1 of which clearly not happy getting his hands dirty. What can possibly go wrong with this setup?

I love the coffee, but the system of calling out names doesn't work very well if you are hard of hearing and cannot HEAR your name over the background noise.

Just bought a carryout coffee, but guy on till very helpfull, went beyond expected !!

Always had a good coffee here never any issues. Lovely staff. I don't know if Dave the boss was having a bad day but he was really rude to his staff who were noticeably embarrassed by this. Really no need as they have always been great to us.

A very busy Starbucks but with very quick service. Staff are friendly.

Girl making coffee is not using a thermometer to measure milk temperature and as a result it tastes burnt.

Our car broke down at the services when the girls at Starbucks learnt of our problems dealing with the "rescue services " the level of care& empathy shown was outstanding including a shoulder to cry 😢 on ,many thanks again Sarah ❤ for the hug, you made what has been an horrendous experience more bearable .

What a breath of fresh air being served by Sarah at Starbucks. Cheerful and helpful, a great representative of Starbucks. As always, cracking drink served just right. A++++

Quite slow service and not particularly cheap.

Nice atmosphere for motorway services but be aware that the coffee is very much on the weak side, you would need at least two cups to get a caffeine boost from their americano. Gets very busy, so be prepared to queue for your order

Today, I tried some small baked eggs, which were delicious. I needed an iced coffee, and that was good too.

The ladies who served us were very polite and we received our order really quickly even though it was really busy x

I asked for brown sugar and got brown sugar syrup I didn't have time to go back in and get it changed

Long queue and wait for a coffee. Was surprised they used a machine to automate the bean to cup process.

3 lovely ladies, quick and efficient. Drinks were properly heated ( hate it when the milk isn't quite hot enough). So cheers to lovely coffee 😋.

Ordered the Christmas turkey panini and when it arrived I opened it to find it half empty. Pay a premium price for food and get a sub standard product.

Coffee is pricy compared to other providers. Not the most comfortable seating area

The staff was very nice and recommended me the vegan option even I do eat meat but the vegan sausage and vegan egg was very nice.

Service was very slow quick to be served and money was taken but slow to serve drinks I waited 20mins for a coffee

Place looks like a mess, orders are not served in the order they were placed, drink half cold and with a totally different taste than usual, waiter answered with an attitude when I asked if my order was still in the queue (probably hence the bad coffee)

Wow Great little service but as always it was packed only down side was I had to wait 10 min for my drink but the staff were friendly and efficient as possible and tried to get everyone's drink out as quickly as possible while taking there time to ensure it was done correctly

As a Starbucks, it is what it is, but it was unkempt and quite dirty with relatively slow and impersonal service. Very much a service station as opposed to perhaps a small village or quaint town, or for that matter a large city where sales are driven hard by service.

Starbucks always does the job. Its overpriced coffee but you know what you're getting :)

To the staff member who charged my wife for half a cup of warm water( had the cheek to charge £2.50 the price for a tea ) to make a bottle for my 8 month old after being stuck in traffic for near three hours between the m6 j45 at Carlisle and getting diverted all the way to longtown thanks adding to an already stressful day

My only problems with this Starbucks are a problem with every Starbucks.

Coffee was fine but the staff didn't listen and made two mistakes. Then asked me to add my own milk. Nah Starbucks, I'm paying you to do that.

Coffee was good. Bought a gluten free panini which was terrible. Service was so slow, took nearly 20 mins to get my coffee.

The staff here were very friendly and handled a rude customer extremely well! (FYI - I wasn't the rude customer) 😆

There is plenty choice of eating outlets, and shops for you're necessities. The toilets were reasonable. The biggest thing and the reason I scored it 3 stars, are the prices of the goods and food on offer. The management of the outlets, needs to look at this.

Super quick service with a friendly face

Stopped here at 11am and again at 10pm. Shop was short staffed in the morning as two staff called in sick. The staff who were there we're doing really well under pressure, but still gave a good friendly service. Staff in the evening were also short staff and trying to close up, but still served me as the shutters close. Well done to all the staff on Sunday 👏

Expense compared to Costa but still great range of food

Said it was open at 6AM but was closed… they opened the gate at 7AM and kept it half up.. a customer went under the gate and came in, they still said they were closed. Ridiculous. 7:22 and still closed.

Fantastic service from Barista Phoenix. Made to feel very welcome and comfortable and was even given a delicious recommendation. Lovely starbucks with awesome staff

Dirty, tables not wiped, huge cobwebs from one of the lights. Staff non verbal.

Coffee and service good, however the aircon units in the ceiling were filthy, obviously not serviced or cleaned in years.

One person on duty today serving so slowly,....... only one person in front of me, who was stood waiting a while himself.... I wanted to buy a coffee decided against it as service so poor, no time to wait as had a long to make

Confused. Price on the wall is £3.10 for a tall latte. Price on the till, £3:15. When queried, I discovered it's "5p for the cup"!! Friendly service, a little slow this evening.

Absolutely awful. Poor customer service, unorganised and unclean. In the short time I was there I witnessed a member of staff coming on to their shift from outside and start working on the coffee machine with out washing his hands, that’s disgusting at the best of times never mind during Covid. A customer that was about four orders behind me was given all her hot food well before her drinks were anywhere near being ready. A customer was given the wrong drink and had to ask twice for a new cup. I was also given the wrong coffee and had to listen to the server and the barista blame each other before getting my correct order. There was also a young family that seemed to be complaining about something too. And the wait time (for everyone) was just outrageous.

To be fair we tend to stop at the welcome break for petrol and toilets when needed however, we always take away a coffee from Starbucks if not too busy. I enjoy the brand and generally the coffee has a similar taste to all Starbucks, thankfully. We have been greeted by engaging staff who are polite and complete my order in a professional manner so no complaints. Recommend the services but not the petrol station having filled up not realising that they charged 20 pence more for a litre than other garages absolutely not fair and therefore do not recommend stopping for fuel, because that is just plain greedy.
