Starbucks in East Riding of Yorkshire

I have been a regular customer at Starbucks in Beverley but, after today's visit, my family and I will never cross the threshold ever again. My nearly blind wife, her guide dog, our son, the family pet dog and I went there this morning. We had coffee and breakfast. My wife's guide dog was a bit shouty. My wife tried her best to settle him down, but that wasn't good enough for the staff. The jumped up barista in a loud voice, so everyone could hear, told our table to take the dog out while he was barking. The way he spoke to my wife with his attitude and expression made my wife feel less than two centimetres tall. If a dog barking is grounds to throw you out, then surely the place is not dog friendly, even when it says it is. No one should ever have to be treated like that, especially a blind person with a fully trained guide dog. It's a sad day for Starbucks and even sadder day for my wife who has not stopped crying!!

Staff are great & very friendly, always enjoy my visit for a nice Java.

Jade is lovely. Always a warm welcome when she is on. Sadly same can’t be said for Sasha who has a definite attitude problem. Managers need to monitor her performance as she doesn’t deliver the Starbucks experience whatsoever. Thanks Jade your a star.

I asked for a small coffee and got a massive bowl of coffee. I said I wanted a small one and the rude barista said” that’s what we give”

Went here for some drinks and the kids wanted some 'pink drinks' the staff made sure they were all happy with what they got. Great staff!

Ordered via the uber eats app. I ordered a clotted cream fudge cold brew which I have ordered multiple from this same business and it was shockingly bad. Basically just a cold brew with a tiny bit of cream that looks like it's split. Paying 5.40 for coffee drink is a treat of mine and very rare. So disappointing!

I was helping my elderly mum on the train with her luggage when the doors shut on me making me take an unexpected journey. My bike was left in the train station and potentially could have been stolen. One of your employees who was on the train phoned her sister and asked her to take my bike we to your starbucks at Fleming gate Beverley. Please could you pass my appreciation to your amazing employees if this is the customer service they provide while off duty and to non customers than they must give amazing customer service while working. Starbucks should be proud to have employees who go above and beyond on and off duty Thank you so much again and I will pop in for an ice coffee soon 🙂

What can I say you have amazing employees at this establishment. I was accidentally trapped on the train to hull while helping my mum on the train with her luggage. My bike was in the station and could have been stolen. An off duty employee asked her sister to drop it off at the Starbucks where the staff looked after my bike while i made my way back. If this is the customers service your employees give to non customers then the customer service given to actual customers must be outstanding! Having recently moved to the area, this Starbucks is my new local favourite! Everything from the presentation of the store, the staff, the food and most importantly (to me at least) the atmosphere! In a world where most high street have multiple coffee shops to choose from, this branch has got it right! Every time I visit I am greeted by friendly staff, fast service and a real sense of community! I would go as to say, it feels like a family ran business as opposed to a chain! Very rarely do I leave reviews unless the product/service has been outstanding and every single visit has been just that.

Have used this coffee shop many times and always had great service apart from today Sunday 14 July 2024, 4 member of staff working hard to cater for the coffee hungry customers. Starbucks Beverley is usually family and dog friendly. I had two coffees whilst visiting on this occation and usually have no problem, there is a short member of staff with blond hair, who always has an attitude, and not the first time I've heard her speak to people rudely. Only today I got the brunt of her bad day. My dog was sitting with my friend whilst I ordered more coffee, and he my dog decided to jump on the leather seats, I normally keep him off the furniture, this happened whilst my back was turned. The blond member of staff, snapped. 'Get the dog off the seat', which I instructed straight away. But also saying to the member of her the member of staff, ' was there any need for that tone? Which she came back with more attitude, which resulted in her storming off giving more verbal. I retorted and said she needed to take herself home. I found her extremely rude, there where families with children, she didn't care the portrayal of her nature at all. She continued to walk around with such distain. I believe either she needs more customer facing training or better still, letting go, fired. Not something I'd would normally suggest conciderig the cost of living and job opportunities. But she clearly should not be serving the public, as her attitude is not welcome in the Starbucks Beverley. Brings the whole coffee shop down, she is not even incharge. I will take this further. Starbucks your providing a service, and at the price of your coffees you have an obligation to be polite to customers always. Spent £20 on this visit, for an uncomfortable visit and bad attitude. When I called the manager , who refused to give her own name, which I found strange, to discuss the confrontation. I almost had to beg for an apology. Which did not feel genuine at all. I asked what would need to happen. And she replied with that she would need to speak with area manager. Too sort the situation out. I hope she does I will follow this up and be sure to post the outcome. I won't let this go untill the right steps are taken. Already InTouch with head office.

Best coffee shop in Yorkshire. Wonderful team that work there, food and drink good value and the atmosphere is fab!!

Fantastic service, me and my children really enjoyed our experience, prefer to travel here from hull. The lady who said she was manager was really spot on, she spoke to my children and answering them as they are people too whereas other places don’t as they look down on my children as they’re very clearly autistic, would really recommend this branch. Thank you for your service and respecting my children individuals too.

We had a lovely coffee and toast here, after visiting the Minster. THe place was half empty and we enjoyed this short break very much.

So one Thursday afternoon me and my friend was just sat in Starbucks minding our own business in the corner and this women said are you buying anything but I had a biscuit and then she said get out I said why and she said “because you are disgusting” how rude! I believe her name was jade!!

Excellent. Invited to do a coffee tasting with Jade and she was very helpful and knowledgeable. The new caramel blondie was amazing too!! Who knew different foods could make coffee taste so different! I'm not... or wasn't a big coffee drinker, but I may have been converted!!

I went in for a coffee tasting experience . Jade was very welcoming and knowledge about the coffee. This was a huge learning curve for me to discover where the coffee I drink was from and the foods that compliment my taste. Ordered three things, i was then answered by someone who obviously didn't want to be working, telling me we've run out of most of the stuff. I replied with what drinks hadn't run out of, and they replied with a blank expression its as if i was talking in a different language. Very poor indeed.

I arrived on Monday 22nd Jan 2024, around 10.45am with a heavy toddler that refused to walk, so in my arms. plus a pram with a newborn. I thought I was slightly late for meeting my sister so I was rushing towards the door. The lady that worked there saw me rushing towards the door and went out of her way to open it for me to help me come in. When I went to order my drinks, a little stressed and flustered, the young man was very patient and friendly. I asked for a hot chocolate for my little boy and he asked me if I wanted him to make it slightly cooler than usual because of his age, which I was very grateful for. I had to sit down before my drinks were made as my baby had started crying by this point and needed to be nursed. When my drinks were ready, I was about to stop nursing and go and get them/ bring them to my chosen table. However, the young man could see I was nursing and told me he was bringing them across so that I didn’t have to cut my baby’s feed short. I felt really cared for and comfortable at this particular Starbucks (Beverley Flemingate). I also just happened to notice, as I was sat near the door, that the lady that had helped me in, was also sweeping the floor/ clearing tables, but also keeping an eye out and opening the door for anyone else struggling. I thought that was really lovely. I ordered a large biscotti latte myself and it was delicious. My son also enjoyed his hot chocolate. It really can be so difficult finding a place to relax with small children but the staff went out of their way to accommodate, so thank you for that x

Thought this place had turned into 'self service' as I entered and stood at the counter for 5 minutes at 9.30 in a midweek morning with no sign of staff whatsoever. Must be some interesting stock loss numbers in this branch. After 5 minutes of being stood there, a girl appeared from the back area, no apology for being kept waiting, took my order. A guy then also appeared from the back with her, so at least 2 staff were present. I went to take seat, there were only 2 other couples in the place. The table I went to sit at was clear but had drink spills on top. I chose another, the seats had crumbs all over them. The floor was dirty, the bases of the tables were absolutely filthy. It was icy outside, but how does a cafe get so dirty by 9.30am ??. I managed high street retailers for 20 years, and made sure I closed and opened with a clean presentable shop and, certainly never left a counter unattended for more than a few seconds. Whatever the reason, the other staff member should've been out front wether till trained or not at least for security and some kind of customer service. Today's visit was just a reminder why I haven't visited this place in a couple of years, it was messy then, but at least it was a summer afternoon on that occasion , not 9.30am.

Good coffee and dog friendly inside with plenty of space between tables nice outside area if the weather if warm. The only negative was that the floors and door mat could have done with a good sweep. we were there about 9.30 am so the debris wernt from the days trading only 2 members of staff on behind the counter who where very plesent and polite and kept busy with a steady flow of customers and delivery pick up drivers calling. Perhaps you need to look at when the cleaner comes in if you have one or are the staff expected to do it when they have time. Will call again as we love the coffee.

Thursday I bough 3”surprise”too good to go packages. Sad uninteresting sandwiches and soggy panini, food should have gone in the bin not for sale even at £12 paid, will never use Starbucks again I’ve just wasted money I can’t afford to throw away

Awful my friend got a drink and then had finished it and put her drink into the bin. This red haired worker with a very rude attitude came over saying we had to leave as we hadn’t bought anything? If we was 3 middle aged women she would have left us alone. We wasn’t even doing anything wrong either, just sat talking!

Tea not very hot or strong enough

It saddened to come into Starbucks today. Paper cup given and mostly froth on coffee. Not worth £3.70. Staff had cups but obviously didn’t want to use them as they were washing them for home time. It shuts at 6.30pm and I came in at 5.,20pm. Never normally choose Starbucks and usually use Costa. Thought I’d try something different. Not coming back again.

Staff are always enthusiastic and friendly, always feel welcome. Tend not to both with Starbucks but enjoy visiting Beverley one

Granddaughters favourite service could be better had to clear my own table after asking for it to be cleaned.

Called in today for a coffee my wife went to the toilets inside only to find no toilet paper and the hand drier not working very poor

It's a fairly standard Starbucks with decent coffee. The service is quick and the team are friendly.

Dish washer broken, cardboard cups at the same price as cup. No plates sandwich in a box Not an enjoyable experience.

It is becoming a regular thing at Starbucks. They say the dishwasher has broken so you get coffee in a paper cup. Sorry not good enough, won't be going back.

I wanted a normal porridge, but all they had was soya with coconut milk. I got a bacon roll instead, and half of the bacon inside was like grey dull off putting colour. Disappointed.

Visited multiple times and it always amazes me how they are always ‘out of something’. If you do manage to decide on a drink that they do actually have in stock you are faced with slow service whilst the teenage staff just talk to each other. The icing on the cake was the manager shouting to the other staff “I’m just off to toilet” in full volume…….nice.

Terrible customer service, none of the drinks advertised (other than the usual latte, mocha etc) were available despite them being advertised both in and outside. We tried to order and was told the drinks weren’t available, so stepped back to look at the menu. When we went to order again we were told they weren’t available either! Totally pointless, and the server was rude too! We left and went to costa instead which was opposite (the service there was great, and they had the drinks we wanted!)

Clean and tidy place. Staff extremely helpful. Has seating in and outside.

Good coffee and selection of other drinks. Very accommodating with our specific order. Sad to see there are no granola type bars any more. Outdoor chairs are a bit basic and be made ndful of the wind direction as it can be a bit draughty.
