Star of Asia in Gateshead

Ordered food, told it would be 20 minutes. It was only warm when I got home which is literally around the corner. Pale re-heated chips. This is quite unusual for them, giving it a miss in future

Food is magnificent, we've tried it several times now and we've never been disappointed, we like our naans well done and crispy, and we ask everywhere we go but it's not always taken on board, but these guys listen. They couldn't be more helpful we live quite far away but they catered for us anyway. A proper gem of a place.

Pizza was the worst margarita I've ever bought. The Punjabi & star of Asia chips were far too hot to eat. The mixed kebab started for 7 quid you don't get much meat all onions. The masala sauce wasn't nice. Most of this went in the bin. Waste of 45 quid

Never had a delivery before as always called in. Text message was sent saying delivery would be late due to demand, which I fully understand as Newcastle were playing at home. The meal was as always first class just slightly warm but that's understandable due to volume of deliveries. Will deffo order for delivery again as food is best in Gateshead. A*******

Food was okay at best. Service slow. Too busy talking in the kitchen to serve waiting customers. We looked at the menu then ordered and questioning the price asked as opposed to the menu prices were told 'everything has gone up in price'. Well then ......alter the prices on your menu. This 'con' I shall be reporting to trading standards this coming week

Waited an extra 35 minutes in the shop past the already advised wait time, think they were understaffed. Food was ok.

My order came wrong : whole order was wrong rang up they then said they would correct it as someone else had wrong order they did do this then when it arrived lamb curry was so chewy and fatty never again

Once I made my order it took 2 hours for them to prepare it- then it took almost an hour for the food to actually turn up, and obviously it was cold…

SCAM!! don't use their website!!! They took money and tried to say their website is under attack so no food was delivered.

Delivered on time, hot and fresh. Chicken tikka jalfrezi was divine, lots of chicken and loads of flavour.

Mixed pathia was lovely, hot on arrival and a good mix of meats and prawns! Vegetable rice gorgeous, hot and fresh. A lovely meal delivered earlier than expected.

Cant fault the lads here. Punjabi chips are amazing. Food was spot on.

I hate to write this as food from here is always beautiful but last night when my food came the food was so cold like was not cooked enough the vegetable Pauli rice was so burn and had lumps of meat in it was disgusting 🤢 the full food went in the bin I have kept the rice for then shop to see as it was shocking I order salad and got none either

Disappointed tonight, food was late arriving not that I was bothered but the pizza was burnt and cold. The kebab meat was looking anemic and cold. The masala sauce was very very bland and it used to be lovely

Hi. I dic not recieve the chicken tikka masala that was ordered, such a shame as you're usually spot on. I don't get a masala often & was looking forward to it sonit was a let down. I informed JustEat who rectified the problem.

Cold when arrived...chips had to go in bin...mushrooms tasted cold and frozen

Poor standards compared to normal, no more than 6 small bits of meat in main meals, poppadoms that were added on collection were stale and rubbery, naans were all burnt, onion bhaji was soggy. Keema pilau was plain mince not keema.The balti and masala were unrecognisable appeared to be the same sauce. Very disappointed considering the price! £50 to have children that were still hungry.

This Indians came recommended, very small pieces of chicken and not a lot of it for the price. Sri Lanka was bland as hell and had the strangest aftertaste, vindaloo made with powdered chilli rather than fresh, no flavour and the only heat was from the chilli powder. Waste of nearly £40

Delivery was strange it said between 6.50 and 7.15, around 6.55 I recieved an update to say it was delayed new time was 7.15 to 7.30 (not a problem) then it arrived at 7.10 Not a complaint was a nice surprise but was also nice to be updated that it could be late

Not the first time I have ordered from here, and food is always delicious. Had Mushroom Biryani, and it was really good, I was stuffed afterwards.

Chips were cold and hard crispy bits. Poppadoms were like rubber didn't enjoy the meal at all.

Very good. Delivery to the Hilton Gateshead. The chicken was a bit over and tough, but to be fair, it's a delivery service and the sauces were excellent. Tastes and quality were generally very good and portion sizes were also good and would definitely order again

Food was hot and freshly cooked. Decent size portions. Everything was lovely the food was not covered in grease like some takeaways. Delivery was about 20min and the guy who regularly delivers is very polite and friendly

Both me and my husband ordered two different dishes, both with chicken tikka. We have both ended up with green stools, nausea and stomach cramps… DO NOT EAT FROM HERE, low hygiene rating fully deserved!

11th July 2022, another fantastic meal. The veg pilau is a meal in it's self, so nice and made how you want it!. Very good. Always excellent food, and best service. None better!. Had another meal last night 4th March 2021 (one over a number of weeks), and it is as good as ever. Great food great service, I've seen a few kitchens of Indian takeaways and would avoid them at all cost!, but here it has a good scrub down every night!.

Best Indian Takeaway, we wouldn't go anywhere else. Thursday & Sunday Banquet special is great value for money.
