Star Karahi in Slough

Had a delivery and was really disappointed, all dishes were bland, the keema peas, taste like mince & peas without any added spices/flavour. The mild korma was more hot than the medium dishes. Spent £55 and had to order something else :(

food was good environment was also very friendly if you want to eat some desi food it's the best place

Great value, great food, generous portions, superb service and reasonable prices. Excellent selection of authentic Pakistani dishes.

This was a home delivery. Garlic naan had raw garlic on top. chicken tikka masala had no flavour, just some generic chicken with sauce added. The veg in the rice wasn't cooked. The korma had dessicated coconut bits in it, would have expected coconut cream. A total disaster - the whole meal.

Took my wife out today and I was very happy about the service I got from the lady who severed me . Every time I go there I always get good service good food and it is always cooked to the highest level. Please keep the good work up…

Ordered food from here today. Absolutely appalling. The rice were old and hard. The tandoori naans were cold and hard. The kebabs were rubbery. The only thing nice was the meat dish. Rang for an explanation. The explanation was, "its totally fresh mam, I don't understand". I continued to explain it was not, I'm in the catering industry myself. But the gentlemen was not having it. "it's totally fresh mam". I will never be going back and will clearly warn others not to. Thanks Star karahi for an awful service.

Since the management has changed the quality of the food has gone from 10 to ZERO. Food with no taste and service

I ordered a dish from them which was not in any way shape or form cooked or had any flavour either the meat or the rice that came with it. I called them and explained he said he would give me a discount the next time I came in. I went in and he gave me 50p off my next order😂how is that a “discount” or makes up for anything . The man I was severed by was laughing when I was speaking to him. Service and management has really gone down hill and food does not taste as nice as it use too. Disappointed as i use to be a regular, won’t be seeing me again.

Stat Kharahi may not have the looks of a typical Indian food restaurant/cafe but what it lacks in looks or decor it makes abundance in their food ! Dishes for all tastes and spices and good size portions !!

I always get my fresh nan from here. But lately when I go to order my nana I get given someone else’s nan which are stone cold. This place has gone down.

Horrid food. Ordered a mix platter. No drinks were in the order. Chips and naan were cold. Chops and chicken were greasy, appeared reheated and completely inedible. The kebabs tastes stale. Please don’t waste your money by ordering here. Horrid food.

Almost certainly the worst experience I have ever had with a restaurant. You told us two or three times our food was on its way for delivery, then told us we had not ordered it. 3 hours later...night ruined and i went to McDonalds. Please train your staff not to lie to customers.

I can't explain how bad the food was words can't describe it. Kebab was reheated it was dried out and smelled the chips also Reheated.The lamb chop had a nasty smell of lard . There was a half eaten piece of chicken no meat on it. After complaining I was told the meat falls off while We take it off the grill. More like you reheated the left overs of a previous half eaten customers order. As it was a takeaway you knew the customer wouldn't bring it back. My full mix grill was old reheated food. You might get better food sit in takeway you 100% won't. I will be reporting you. I just wish I had seen the reviews on here before I want. Please check your Order before you leave . That might stop them from giving old reheated food. I would even say pick it up and smell it.

Tasted great (and reasonably priced) - but got the sh*ts. Clean up your food handling, guys. Apparently, I have to submit at least 100 words.

Very good food need some attention some times but overall is good recommended, the chef is experience he knows what he is doing I definitely come back

This place is quite a surprise, it’s clientele group is predominantly Asian, so I would expect it to be a lot more authentic; it is anything but.

I have Tadka Dal medium spice and extra tandoori Roti from here, my family loves it, the food is truly delicious and staff is very friendly. The prices are very reasonable. I highly recommend it as take away as well as eating in.

My family came for frist time in star karahi. They love their taste of food Specially their lamb chops Shakes are most delicious and yummy rasmalai

I used to cone here very often and before it used to be good but now the service has dropped bad! Once seated you have to wait almost half an hour and if you dont call anyone no one will even come to take your order at all. Our classic order would be the lamb karahi and recently we realised they are leaving all the jelly type of fat on the meat and cooking it. I was realy upset by this as my husband and I thought we'd have a nice evening but this is not the place to go.

Well.....I took my nieces out for lunch and they wanted to eat at star karahi.....hmmmm. What can I say, I have been here before and I used to order the burger or lamb kebabs etc....never had to complain. However, this experience was terrible. We ordered chicken byriani and chicken curry with roti. Both dishes were packed in with ginger flavour and chunks of ginger, absolutely disgusting! My nieces didn’t complain so much about the food but the service they (15 and 8 year olds) complained about. The waiter was in another world, we had to keep asking him to get us water etc and all he wanted to do was to sit down and chat with his friends.

Went wit my family for the first time on 11/02/2018. Staff misunderstood the order and got us an extra burger meal which we never ordered and he was not prepared to apologies for the mistake and we ended up paying for it. The chicken and lamb karahi portion were extremely small and half filled. I have never seen such a small portion anywhere else. The taste was average, nothing special but compared to the price and portion size it was nowhere near worth it. We ordered half grilled chicken but got 2 of the tiniest pieces of chicken i have ever seen instead of a half chicken. The overall experience was horrible for the whole family. We go out quite regularly so i know what to expect for this price.

Better not to disgrace yourself and your family Please be carefull with this guys,.We been there twice .We used to have sheek kabab and Lamb chops.On our last visit we had the most horrible kabab.Informed the waiter, --over heard him informing to the so called management boss and what we heard was a-shouting from the counter ''I don't care''It look like they are doing a favour to the public/customers.It was a purposeful talk that they want us to overhear.They will treat you like you came for free food.So better not to disgrace yourself and your family.They do show off that attitude.Not all the restaurants are perfect , but we got so much ashamed .Yes it is enjoyable for a toddler since it task absolute bland...

It's a nice little restaurant situated behind the slough town centre, so not easily noticeable, but serves really good Indian food at reasonable prices. We've been here quite a,few times and were pleased every time with food and service. The biryani and curries are delicious and the service is quick too.

Excellent value, no gimmicks Indian food. I love hot but be warned ask for mild not medium if you don't....

Fui con mi familia el 12/05/2017. pedimos cordero biryani, chuletas de cordero y pollo a la parrilla. Biryani era insípida, no tenía nada de sal o especias - - - nada en ella. Chuletas de cordero ha un muy mal olor. No podría haber más...

Estrellas Karahi es un gran lugar para cenar, la comida es deliciosa, el servicio es genial y el dueño es muy amable y acogedor, recomiendo este lugar si no ha probado su propia luego allí.

Comida vegetariana ordenados. Toda la comida que pedí estaba nadando en aceite. Había 4 cucharadas de aceite, sentado en la parte superior de la Daal! ! ! La cebolla Massala-jeera estaban crudas, los guisantes y los dos platos duro diferentes pedí sabía lo mismo! !...

Servida con generosidad biyrani junto con salsa jugosa y raitha! ! Excelente servicio que pasar buena cantidad de tiempo explicando el plato popular del restaurante y comida increíble! ! Debes probar restaurants​ si u r alrededor de esta zona.

I eat here often, eating in and taking out and I am always pleased with the food. Their mango shakes are THE BEST! Good atmosphere, friendly staff and tasty food.. Highly recommend

The atmosphere in this place is extremely beautiful, and I mean that! There are beautiful lights and seats are comfy. Safe to say, one of the best places to eat wonderful Asian food in slough. I have tried many places and this is by far the best. I loved the NEW look, with the sofas. It was very comfortable and perfect for me and the kids to relax and eat. I would highly recommend coming to eat here.

Came for lunch while in slough. I have eaten here before and it's usually been just ok. This time I had lamb biriyani, keema naan and the special mixed grill. Food was served and was great. The biriyani was especially good. Great flavour right amount of spice and plenty of boneless meat. The mixed grill was also good but I would this time the biriyani was one of the best I had had.

Its a reality and fact that most of the best curry places are in the north of England and Scotland. It is not often that i come across a decent food place within southern vicinity - this includes trips to brick lane, southall etc. This place however is very good punjabi cuisine hence the 5 star rating. You wait 10 mins longer but the chef cooks it the way he would eat it himself. We ordered 1 chicken karahi and 1 lamb Karahi along with 12 tandoori roti and salads etc.The food was very good and a strong recommendation for anyone wanting good punjabi cuisine.

Many moons ago when I worked in Slough a work colleague introduced me to this place. And there begun our love of the biryani and vegetable samosa. Ate here last night and although the vegetable samosa was excellent the biryani wasn't as good as normal. Rice looked like a longer grain but the flavour was also different. Please bring back the old biryani! This isn't the most conformable place. Designed to eat and go. More cafe style.....service is always OK. Don't go expecting Michelin starred food. It's also not like the high street Indian restaurants. This is traditional food.Will definitely return with high hopes of their 5 star biryani returning!

Fantastic food, and straight away I'm going to recommend the Lamb or Chicken Karahi dish, it's out of this world! I believe it's a Pakistani dish and this has become one of my favourite Indian dishes. The restaurant is clean and the waiters are fantastic. I love Indian food and I'm very critical when it comes to taste. This restaurant is fantastic, the food is incredible, comes very hot and in a nice pan. You can choose what temp you'd like your food from mild to hot and the variety is incredible. They also offer standard fast food such as burgers and chips. You can see the locals love it, people constantly walking in, most take away. One of the best Indian restaurants I've been to.

We're regulars here, nice staff, food quality can be very good. Occasionally they can slip up.Seating is adequate, clean and the food is of a good quality however they do have their off days. The chilli sauce used to be the best in Slough, but they seemed to have watered it down...it's not the same recipe anymore.

Had a take away from here and took back to the Travelodge, which is about 4 mins walk. Had the Chicken Jalfrezi, rice and a naan bread. Was very good and tasty, only point was the curry was very dry,not overcooked just not a lot of sauce. Would go back again

Visited whilst driving back from Legoland. Not the easiest place to find behind High St.Food was okay not brilliant. Decor was too dark. Very little lighting.Might visit again but there are other restaurants/takeaways in the area.

Very good the food is exelant and tasty lot of selection a proper carry house the staff is helpful good place for family meal with a lot of space will visit again

I love this place, not the best service or surroundings but always a buzz and always full of Asian customers and in my book that says it all, the food is authentic and good!I went with my family on the way home from a trip to London and I have to say my wife is still moaning about what she called a vindaloo korma and said her tongue was tingling for 24 hrs, she tasted mine a paneer karahi and said it was milder than hers then took a large chunk of nan and sopped up the sauce which was obviously on a time delay as she almost exploded when the chilly kicked in.I have never seen my son sweat so much but we had a good laugh and I definitely enjoyed mine, maybe one for the more hardened curry fans but have a go.

I remember when this place first opened up over a decade ago. I think this was around the time when the owner seemed passionate about food. I've visited over 50 times, the food has got worse with each visit, sadly the last visit was my last. The takeaway I ordered had missing fries as advertised on the mixed grill. The owner had the cheek to tell me that it "it only came with a small portion anyway". Portion sizes have shrunk by almost 50%, the place has undergone an expansion but perhaps instead of concentrating on revenue they should have gone back to basics. That is put love in the food and customers will always return.

Since moving to Slough, this place has been a family favourite, though not necessarily located in the best place (behind the high street), it's consistenly good food makes up for any other negatives. Their butter chicken is by far one of the best I've ever had and it's a shame they don't deliver as most kebab rolls seem to pale in comparison to theirs! Please start a delivery service!

Ive been going here for 10 years and always stick to tried and tested, the chicken karahi special. Its consistently good in fact one of the best curries Ive ever had. Portions are great and the meal deal is.great value. I always try to pop in whenever Im in the area.

Got takeaway the other night. The food was fresh and excellent quality. Definitely value for money. Samosa chaat could do with a lot more spice. Tarka daal was excellent.

Had been pleasantly surprised the last time I was here last year. Good, fresh and tasty food, makes you feel at home. This time was no different. Great teamwork in the kitchen these guys, and a real service minded attitude to customers.

I loved this place! Its so wrong its nearly right! Outwardly its kind of in the style of a 50's american diner (but without all the bells and whistles), but inside its really sparse and more like a work canteen. The saving grace is that the food and service is absolutely incredible. I tentatively ordered the mixed tikka sizzler with aloo gobi and was knocked out with the meal that arrived. These guys are so unassuming but the food is outstanding for service and value.

I was in Slough on business and a cab driver recommended here well I was not disappointed a good clean place with friendly staffGreat old fashioned curry full of flavour and large portions delightful tarka dal superb sag aloo stuffed naan. The restaurant was full of local people with families always a good sign would definitely return best curry I have had for some time

Great lamb curry. I ate here about 3-4 times. i am not sure if they use preservatives in the spices or what. i realized i always had a funny feeling in my stomach after eating here.

This place is a bit rough around the edges but the food is amazing! If in Slough it's worth a visitThe starters are large portions, so big that I struggle to eat the main course. Recommend the seekh kebabs, lamb chops and sizzlers are great.

This restaurant is my usual place to have Asian food, good is of good quality service is also good, please ensure u take a parking permit and display on ur car, oh u might get a ticket

We fancied curry and were recommended this place by the concierge at travelodge. When we got there we were a bit sceptical as it looked a bit downmarket but feeling footweary after a day at Windsor we dived in.... We were very impressed. The prices were amazing, the serving sizes generous and the food authentic... Lots of families eating here and you can choose how spicey you want the dish to be served. We ordered from the meal deals and so we're amazed at such great value. What I was impressed about also was how little ghee was floating around the dishes as sometimes happens. Really enjoyed it and found the service friendly,welcoming and prompt without being rushed.

Best for eating in and take out... Food is great saves the service... I wish they would do home delivery.

Visited this place three times in the last 12 months. On all occasions the service and food has been terrible.Waiter has a disgusting attitude, not fit for purpose. Food is of poor quality, especially the mix grill. Will defo not return.

This used to be my favourite restaurant but in the last 2 years has become very hit and miss as far as quality and taste of food.I would say sample there lamb karahi and ask them to make it boneless. The chicken dishes are average. The kebabs are nice. Reasonably priced with limited parking. More of a restaurant for a functional meal rather than a romantic one

After having experienced all asian restaurants around the world, this is definitely the WORST one ever! i've asked for "medium" spicy : it was that hot& spicy I couldn't eat. The place is nice but except from the naan and the chicken, everything was uneattable! Really really dissapointed. If you like Pakistani/Indian cuisine, don't go there! Plus : Customer service crap.

I used to be a regular whilst working in the area, enjoyed the food so much I always pop by whenever I need to visit Heathrow. I've tried various dishes with mixed results so stick with tries and tested. Chicken Karachi with rice and drink for £5.99, delicious, good portions, great value, this is the deal I would recommend. My wife had lamb chops that were also very tasty. Flavour was excellent though meat was a bit too chewy. Overall a great place to eat service was polite, only negative was it took a bit of time for my order to be taken.

I tried this Restaurant for the First time with my family,on tuesday All the way from High wycombe.food was cold,could Not tell the Fish apart from the chicken.Food was tasteless,Service was crap.No salad or any kind of sauces we're served.when confronted the waiter i was told it is warm,very rude.They forgot our starter was served when finished eating.And the lights were dimmed to such a level we're i could not see what we were eating.Me and my family also friends will Not be going to Star karahi ever again.

Not a plush resturant this one, very functional but clean and tidy and very friendly staff and customers.I started with a paneer wrap which I was asked if I wanted it spicy and got it thus, very good but very filling.There were lots of veggie options and again the staff were very aware that I was veggie without me having to say, anyway it was a paneer night for me as I had chillie paneer and rice for my main which was again really spiced just as I like it,An excellent meal accompanied by the Induan Premier league match between Kerala and Goa.I would defo go again.
