A special treat and always a high point of our stay in Bridgwater. Brilliant fish with superb chips. The customer throughput is large so the food is almost always fresh and tasty. We've never had anything other than superb meals.

Rang for takeaway but after taking out money told us that they had no driver and to pick it up. We live about a mile away and could not get there. Asked for out money back and was told it takes 2 to 5 days to get it back. Soon took out money though. Argued with them and they said that someone in the shop will bring it and it would take half and hour that was an hour ago and still waiting. Used the fish and chip shop regularly before it was taken over and now it is gone bad. Will not us again.

Again, perfect food all freshly cooked and the smallest of wait time. Highly recommend and we will continue to support this local business.

Definitely the best fish and chips in bridgwater with great quality and great size battered cod accompanied with great portions star certainly is the best.

This is the best chippy in Bridgwater they don’t have a dedicated gluten free frier but they’ve always worked out a way of doing some fish for me. Would be great if they did a targeted GF menu but in the meantime best chippy in town.

An excellent local chippy in Bridgwater, and just round the corner from us, so even better. The portions are really good, with the size of the fish, we can share a large portion of chips between 5 of us. Friendly staff and, if you're lucky, you may even get a free cake on the counter.

Just moved in around the corner from Star Fish Bar and we have had fish and chips and kebabs from there several times now. The Fish and Chips is excellent. Cod is nicely battered and well cooked. Chips are nice. Portions are huge. Staff are nice and friendly and they have a 5* hygiene rating on the door. What's not to like?

Food itself was okay. Went on at 9pm and only customer in the shop. Got home to find part of my order was missing, just chips in the box. Certianly an expensive portion of chips.

It would make life easier if they would Change there web site opening hours as we went there on Christmas Eve and again New Year's Eve web site says open at 4.30pm. There loss as we have found some where else and as food is Hot and you can eat and closer to home

The food here is always very delicious all year round. Excellent quality chips and fish. The staff are great and very friendly.

The chips were warm, fish was hot but dry the same as the last few times have been . Lunch times seems to be better according to the cook.They need to go back to basics when they opened first.

We recently moved to Bridgwater, and on our first night after moving, we ordered from Star Fish Bar... WOW! The portions are huge! So tasty, not greasy, full of flavour. I had my parents round to help me move more things into my new property, and I made them stay to try these fish and chips! My mother is the biggest fish and chips fan, and she ate everything and told me they were the best she'd had in ages. The portions are so large, I like to keep my leftover chips to enjoy the next day with a curry. Amazing atmosphere, amazing friendly staff, great food. The counters looked so clean, and the workers uniforms didn't have a grease stain on them! Thank you!

Best chips sausage and gravy I have ever had. Super clean premises, staff washed their hands after every customer. I will go nowhere else now for my chips, lovely food, super hot, wrapped brilliant

Star fish bar is head and shoulders better than all others in Bridgwater and beyond, great portions fabulous chips and willing to cook fish without batter if requested. Really friendly nice bunch of people who run it too been coming here for years! 10/10 from me!

Best fish and chips in the area. Always a friendly service, kept very clean. May have to queue for a few minutes but well worth it.

I went there to pick it up quickly and when eaten I thought it was delicious and I was absolutely going there again. Amazing selection and awesome for the family.

You want chips, you get chips. Bucket loads of ‘em!Science has proven that if you can eat one of their large portions on your own then you become a real Mr Potato Head and can interchange your facial features with cartoon ones.Love this pla(i)ce.A queue can be annoying, but also a sign that locals know it is worth a visit and it clears super quick

Can't visit too often as we live a distance away (possibly a good thing for the waistline!) but always call in when we're here.The Haddock (always cooked fresh) is superb and the portions of chips are on the large size of amazing!Really looking forward to our next visit.

Great service food is always well cooked and great value,the best in town, staff always pleasant and they handle the public well when they are busy and that's most days very popular

Decided to try this chippy out after returning to Bridgwater after years away. Portions are massive, do not make a mistake of getting a large portion of chips as a standard portion is large enough for 2 adults, jumbo cod was delicious. Well worth the money we paid 7 will definitely return.

Stopped by for food - great portions, reasonably priced but quite greasy. Chips were well cooked, fish was massive and a pot of curry sauce that never seemed to run out.Only downside was the greasy from the fish but enjoyable all the same.They shop was quite full which is always good to see.

Always very good, staff very efficient, would always get my fish and chips from here if in Bridgwater.

Oh my days. I ordered the large cod with chips. The cod is humongous but the taste was also superb. Batter was not too crispy and the cod just fell apart. There were 7 of us who ordered and there were no complaints from anyone. Even got a free 2l bottle of coke.

I have eaten from here before and always been great. This time we noticed they cooked my vegetarian burger in the same oil as my partners battered sausage. They then informed us after asking several times that everything (meat, fish and chips) are all cooked in the same oil and pans including the vegetarian options and didn't see this as a problem. Very disappointed and defeats the point of it being vegetarian! Unfortunately I would not recommend due to the lack of not being able to cater for people's dietary requirements.

The last visit was disappointing. Fish - both cod and haddock - was dry. Just not the usual ace product. Maybe just check on quality. I'll be giving a miss for a few weeks but shall try again as you always were a great resource.

The title is a good indication how good and what excellent value for money the Star Fish bar is. It's always busy sometimes queuing out the door. Most food cooked fresh as a consequence of the turnover rate.

Visited this chip shop on a few occasions the food is always well cooked and the portions are good would recommend

Have had a fair few takeaways from here and they have always been excellent, best fish and chips I have had. We have friends and family who visit and always suggest a fish and chip supper from here - cannot recommend enough

Good range of freshly or cooked to order Fish and Chip shop with a good menu for Take Away food. Friendly service, never been dissapointed. You sometimes have to wait a bit at busy times but well worth it. We will call in again.
