Food was absolutely disgusting. Paid over £14 for pie & chips and received a tiny portion which got put into the bin due to being burnt and overcooked!! Food also arrived cold. Will not be ordering from here again.

Loads of chips, but fish was swimming in oil so all the batter peeled off when you took the fish out the wrapping. The batter was literally wet

Customer service is terrible ordered food and took 1,5 hours to arrive cold and soggy straight in the bin I wouldn’t recommend getting a delivery or ordering from them.

Was given some free lamb donna meat to try and it was amazing. Food was brilliant. Really enjoyed the meat and it had a really nice mint sauce to it. It was lovely

I ordered large cod but I have received the small cod. Just a bit disappointed.

The fish had lovely crispy light batter and the homemade tartar sauce was delicious…all arrived hot and ready to serve.

chips were horrible over cooked i actually think that was old chips that got recooked, fish was nice but not the best but no tartar sauce in bag when stated you get some. wouldn't order from here again. and food was delivered in the last few minutes of delivery time given so abit slow, food was warm ish.

Lovely fish all be it a tad small for a large cod … chips were tasty but sadly soggy and we did ask for extra crunchy chips , we ordered a curry sauce which after tasting we had to poor down the sink as it was extremely salty

a bit unsure how you have a fish n chips without the chips delivered- would like it refunded please. however the chicken kebab and wedges were awesome! I'm a regular and when delivered it's always tummy

Still harassing me 2 years after i asked to be removed from list. Food is BAD, dirty. dont eat there. I have asked them to take me off their call list but they wont after over 2 years Will NEVER EAT THERE. Rubbish junk food.

Usually love it here! This time the chips were cold and dry. Seemed like they’d been left over from earlier in the day. The rest was nice, but all of the chips were practically inedible :(

food went straight in the bin was absolutely dreadful. won't be ordering from here again. chips were days old like cardboard and the fish was pure greasy batter no actual fish inside. avoid this place.

Me and hubby seriously impressed with the well cooked fish meal yesterday. It arrived piping hot, portions were massive - we couldn't get through it all, so shared one and very much looking forward to 'part 2' To top it all, very, very tasty and not at all soggy or greasy! Thanks for making our film night a good one!

Worst fish and chips I’ve had in a while! The batter for the fish was spongey rather than crispy and flakey. The cod tasted like it wasn’t fresh, it was flakey but had a rubbery texture to it which is a tell tell sign it was frozen. The chips tasted freshly fried but the potatoes tasted cheap or old. They weren’t fluffy on the inside and crispy on the outside. The chips at 5 guys are way better than this place. Please avoid this place and instead go to other fish & chip places

This is a great little chippy shop. We use to go here often on the way back from visiting someone nearby. There are very few chippies left in the surrounding area, especially those open until late. The staff here are friendly and everything is fresh and tasty. The chips are freshly fried. There is free parking outside.

why are your chips so hard and dry??? go buy a bag from glad fisheries up the road they know how to do it right. if you sort out your chop making you will make more money 💰

The fish was nice and freshly cooked, although the batter was a little bland. However, the chips were terrible (but generous portion) - they were dry and hard so I suspected they were either frozen or pre-packed fresh, not chipped on site. Disappointing for a "chip shop"

Just loads of ends and alot of green chips. Nearly warm. Late.

Order was missing items was told they would send out but it was delivered 30 minutes later. Food was not good at all chips looked and tasted like they had been over held and then recooked.sausages all greasy Ended up throwing it all away.

Chips were dry and their were so many I think they just wanted rid of them the buttered rolls were burger buns with seeds and some of it was hard although my dog didn’t moan when I gave it to him the jumbo sausage wasn’t what I’d call jumbo

Food was very poor. Burger tasted of the fuel use to light grill, chips were over cooked and chicken tasted soapy and sweet most of all the food went in the bin

Fish and Chicken Burger were OK but the chips were overcooked and hard. Couldn't eat the chips, they went in the bin. Ice cream was in good condition, so its not ALL bad. But to have the name "STAR chippy" and do mediocre chips that weren't worth it was disappointing. I paid a good price for the order; but they let me down. There's not a lot that can convince me otherwise. I got reminded to leave this HONEST review when I was surfing JE again. I won't be using "Star Chippy" again for the reasons mentioned. Thanks for the somewhat not great service...

Food was hot, but chips overcooked and had been kept warm far to long they were soggy and unpleasant, however scampi were very nice and burger so so not the best

Chips where well over cooked and hard

Chips are always refried even when I've asked for fresh chips. The majority turn up rock hard.

Fish great, small chips too large and too high a percentage of small hard bits, the proper sized chips were excellent.

Food was dropped upon delivery (things happen and some stuff was packaged good so its fine) but rest of the food was cold. it then took 45mins to get replacement chips since the previous bag was open due to the drop.

This chip shop used to be so good before it was taken over and from then it’s gone down hill .If you place orders on Just eat they always cancel them so you have to go down The food is over cooked and tastes of old oil. We will not be using them again .

Good food and service. The only reason I haven’t given them five stars is that the chips are always overcooked. Meaning that they are hard and difficult to chew. Solve this problem and the review will be 100%.

The chips were disgusting! They were overcooked and hard! If they triple fry their chips they need to stop this practice, it is not working!

I’ve ordered food from here before and it’s usually been ok but today the chips were awful, very burned and over cooked. Felt like they had been refried. They were dry and crumbled.!!!! Not good at all. Very much a shame, had to throw them away

A load of food was received after waiting over 1.5 hours . Been coming here since we moved into the area. Chips are great. Best to order ahead so you dont have to wait too long. Parking outside which is a big bonus. Reasonably priced too

We had 2 pizzas which were both pretty good. A nice chewy crust and the base sauce had nice flavour to it.

Absolutely terrible. As an executive chef it’s sometimes nice to have a night off. Just had an order delivered and it’s gone straight in the bin. Pre cooked chips, reheated in old over used oil that arrived tepid at best. A pie in broken packaging which has spent far too long in a warming cabinet resulting in the pastry going rock hard and being inedible. Cod roe cooking in the same old smelly oil used to reheat the chips resulting in them being a dirty brown colour rather than golden. The whole order stank of stale grease. As said, all went in the bin, I won’t make the mistake of ordering from here again. Wouldn’t even let my dogs eat it. Avoid!

My god does anyone no how to cook chips 🍟 you need to show this owner there so so hard there’s no potato left in them . Just crusty old skins he gives you such a large bag because no one wants them please take a lesion on how to cook chips you’re selling food to the public go and train and it doesn’t look that clean in there not for me

Fish was fine .. chips dry. Asked for small.. gave a skip load .. overall fine but wouldn't order there again.

Ordered from the shop- good value and large portion freshly cooked fish and chips. Clean shop & friendly staff. Wide menu with mainly fish and chips, but also chicken, wraps, sausages. We ordered and waited 15/20 mins as it was a large order. They made everything fresh and delicious and packed it nicely All halal except the Pukka pies Have fizzy drinks & desert like fudge cake, tiramisu and ice-cream. In the evening can park in front of the other shops nearby( which were closed)

We were so disappointed with our order. The chip were barely edible. They were very hard and greasy. Also the cod, very greasy.. I am so so sorry for this review, because in the past we have been happy with the food.

30 minutes late to a chosen delivery time placed 2 hours ahead of time. And someone had the nerve to press the button switching the order to 'delivered' 15 minutes before it turned up. Shocking how quickly it turns up when you actively call the place to chase the location of the food. Had to do that the last 3 orders. Clearly need to cut our losses and switch to somewhere that can manage to be at least a little closer to their targets.

The last several times our orders have either been over an hour late or entirely cancelled (after an hour's wait). They used to be the fastest, they still hold our record for shortest time from order to door... But those glory days appear to have been over for a long while now.

We tried a pizza and chicken burger on this order, very nice, would recommend.

Very overpriced and the quality of the food is poor £16 and it was very disappointing
