What a great place to visit. This may not be The Ritz but the service is far friendlier than you might find in high end places. Made to feel like a local even on first visit. Oh and did i mention you can get a three course meal for £4 and they ain’t skimping on portion size. Highly recommend the 15 min march from Central Station

We live in Peterhead and I had seen online a review for the cheapest bar meal in Scotland (if not the UK) so we decided to have a look we booked 4 days at crag Tara in Ayr just so we could visit star bar and it didn't disappoint. £5 for soup, fish and chips then rice pudding (it was recommended by another customer) I was so happy I changed my mind from the ice-cream to the rice pudding. The staff were extremely friendly and the lady serving us made us was in high spirits if the food wasn't as good as it was just going there to have a banter with her is well worth the visit it's also just £1 for a cuppa. We will be back. Don't go expecting a Michelin star meal it's a proper home made feeling meal. I'd easy do the 184 mile trip again for this meal

The iconic Star Bar at Eglinton Toll, famous for the cheapest 3 course meal in Glasgow. After 40 years, they reluctantly raised prices! It is now a whopping £4 for a three course meal. I know! Dined there today and although never likely to win a Michelin Star, it was decent nosh at an incredible price. Andrea the manager, server, head honcho was like the Tasmanian Devil. So efficient yet very attentive. Very friendly. Looked after our party of 7 so well. No complaints. A piece of Glasgow history that lives on and thrives still.

For the cheap price the food is great, how the 2 kitchen staff can turn out all that food in a 5ft x 5ft kitchen I’ll never in know, the waitress is great too, only drawback is the bar staff/owner she is so miserable it brings the place down, she could make more money if she rented her face out for Funerals, the place is really quite filthy, new lino in the bathrooms hasn’t made the place look any cleaner, but you might enjoy the food but don’t forget to wipe your feet ON THE WAY OUT.

I've seen the yellow sign outside for over a decade now, and never had the time or inclination to pop in for the famous 3 course lunch for £2.50/£3.00/£3.75/£4.00, prices changing as time and inflation marches on. Finally found some time to get in and I was not disappointed. All food like yer granny would have made. Soup, sausage hotpot and rice pudding and a pint, and money back from £10.00. In these lean times, what more can you ask for? And what more do you expect from the Sunday Mail's Pub of the Month, December 1980?

I'm writing this review from Star Bar. We stopped off for a pit stop during the long walk to Hampden for the Scotland football game. From the outside it looks like a locals kind of pub don't be put off as this place is great! Despite the fact the place was full of football fans the bar lady couldn't be more accommodating - sourcing wine when she didn't have any in her bar. It gets better....we got a large wine, bottle of beer and a drink for the staff and got £12.50 change from a £20! We will be back. This bar lady is the Flower of Scotland! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Been on our ‘tick list’ for MANY years! Finally got there! Lovely staff - very friendly. Great service! Soup like your granny made - macaroni with ‘hot peas!’ Then rice pudding with ‘tinned’ fruit!!!! Loved it! Hubby had the pie which he said was spot on! Three courses - £3.00!!!! You’ve got to go try it!

Went in here a few weeks ago for lunch. Couldn't believe the prices - I think it was £4 for a three course lunch which comprised Lentil Soup, fish, chips and peas and ice cream. Very very good and excellent value !! Well done.

Absolutamente me encanta el Prague Shack! Gran selección para todos, con muchas cosas que se pueden modificar para las dietas veganas. ¡La coliflor crujiente es increíble!

A very good no stress vibe, with excellent food for a very reasonable price. They are super helpful as well, able to answer a couple questions we had about Glasgow and the events in the area.

Great coffee shop, this is one that I quite frequently go to. Simple menu with soup and sandwiches and a choice of freshly baked cakes. Definitely a place worth popping into

What a meeting! David took the time to explain all his dishes to us. He was adorable with the whole family. A real pleasure to meet people like him!
